    Those prices are ridiculous bro, no dice. For people that do have budgetary needs-- Propper is a Berry Compliant GS supplier and offer a variety of camo patterns for pants (namely OD, OCP/ Multicam, M81 Woodland, and Tiger Stripe), far more reasonable prices.
    I've also used 5.11 Stryke and TDU series pants for years in professional application, they hold up and are comfy. Camo/ Pattern options are very limited though (just OCP/ Multicam, Green, Khaki) but they're not priced crazy.

      Proper or Truspec. My TruSpecs have been through the rough of it. 4-5 years later they're ripped, torn, and stained. Still go pretty hard because those rips and tears haven't grown any and while the material is rather thin, in the winter time fleece sweat pants and wool socks are perfect.

    • @scherry9198

      @@twiggybones7040 I was about to say Propper or Truspec. No need for the Gucci shit.

      @@twiggybones7040 Yeah Ripstop patterned pants are great because of that, makes repairs easier too, but both Propper and TruSpec are inexpensive enough it's easy to plus up on multiple sets without killing the wallet.
      Up here in the deep cold north, wool is king in winter!

      5.11 styker are Emmerson priced so they're in that budget price point at least lol. Yea I've been wearing 5.11 tact-pro's in summer weather and the heavy canvas Patrol Men model in colder weather since 2006'ish really can't go wrong hell I still have a few og pairs of the heavy canvas from back then that survived abuse at the horse ranch, skate boarding & bmx tracks n trails, construction crawling through ceilings pullin cable and even tackling crazies in the mental ward for a few years lol and they're still wearable for yard work or campin type 💩 just best up enough to not be professional for work but so broken-in they're soft n comfy af now lol. Never had and of the kneepad inserts wear out or break down either and I wore em everyday only took em out to wash em.

      @@Jordan-ql6tm Stryke TDU pants still don't cost what Emersons do even, they're close, but still cheaper by a pinch.
      Yeah I've never had issues with mine, they hold up well and fit great.

  • @chandlercase1304
    @chandlercase1304 Год назад +1

    Two comabt style pants I've used:
    1. The Army seems to be issuing certain units a OCP combat pant not made from crye. They kinda look like normal uniform pants but with integrated knee pads. They also have a weird die shade that makes it look like a darker version of OCP. If you have bases and surplus stores near you, you can often find them well under $200 used.
    2. Other mention are some Russian made ones I picked up before the war. They were decently thick and durabe. Price was affordable enough to pay for international shipping and still be cheaper than Cryes.

    Here in the Eastern US, I use BDUs in late spring through late summer, and Realtree hunting garb in early fall to early spring.
    If you can find a set of Realtree or Mossy Oak pants with cargo pockets, snatch them up. Pick up a set of long sleeve and short sleeve shirts, along with a jacket to match.
    I dont wash my uniforms in detergents either. I use bar soap and hot water. Detergents have optical brighteners in them that'll make your clothes glow like theyre radioactive under NODs.

    • @jonbrooks6522
      @jonbrooks6522 Год назад

      How do they look under nods ?always wonder about hunting camo vs bdu. Know that some glow under nods.

    • @BuckFoeJiden
      @BuckFoeJiden Год назад +1

      @@jonbrooks6522 depends on the material, honestly. I have a few jet black synthetic hoodies that look white under NODs, and I've got a couple of cotton blend sweaters that look more gray.
      Mostly depends on what you wash them in, though. Always hand wash your camo with unscented bar soap and hot water. I usually do my stuff in a bath tub. Just get the water hot and soapy and wash it by hand, then rinse.
      I bought an old nylon rain jacket in OD green, masked some stripes off and hit it with spray paint to mimic the BDU pattern, and it looks jet black for the matter paint, and a natural foliage color where the OD green shows. Blends in really well under NODs. You just have to touch it up frequently.

    I’ve got a few pairs of solid colored G3’s and some Emerson’s. Emersons do the job… wife has had to patch them up after a few years. The G3’s don’t get worn as much but are definitely sturdier.

  • @aaronhorlick9932
    @aaronhorlick9932 Год назад +1

    My best advice is the surplus US Army combat pants. They're like 30-40 bucks in most surplus stores and like 50 bucks with tags still on sometimes. Only downsides are that you only get one pattern (scorpion W2) and it's quite a bit heavier fabric than the crye g3's they knock off of. I say that having been stationed in Fort bliss for the last 3 years. Also it's not a combat pant but the hot weather army uniform is really Breathable. Draw back being that it still only comes in scorpion

    Being that you’re an infantry drill sergeant, what’s the furthest distance that recruits have to run? I heard it’s 5 miles in 45 minutes or so?
    Is there any swimming involved in 11b osut/basic?

    Ive used the shit out of some OD UF PRO strikers gen 2. Put em through a 2 day fulda gap paintball event in nothin but rain and mud, broke my toe out there going so hard. Pants came out of the wash lookin brand new. I love my UF pros, they seem indestructible and ive destroyed a many OCP and marpat pants. I dont have the HTs, the vented ones. My only complaint about the non vented UFPROs is that they are very WARM. Use em everytime at the range.Also, ive seen UFPRO run multiple sales now, got my gen 2 strikers for 220.

    Those were UF Pro StrikerHT due to the ventilation and lack of an integrated belt that the XT Gen 3 has. The Striker HT varies in price, under $300 for solid colors, to well over 3 bills for Multicam patterns and other camo. I have personally spent way to much on their pants. The UF Pro P-40 tactical line looks far less like combat pants, but still features all the great materials and comfort, and you still have the ability to add “hidden” kneepads. All the P-40 pants are well under $300 but only come is solid colors. Also every Crye Combat pant on their website pant is over $300.
