    Tips about blisters:
    ==> PREVENTION:
    If you always get a blister at the same spot, put a bandage there at the start of Day One, the little bastid may never get started.
    Wear 2 pairs of socks, the inner one cotton, the outer one: wool, as padding for your widdle feets. ( Yes, I said wool ! Unexpectedly, even on hot days, while fighting in the sun, good quality wool socks will not make your feet sweat more than they usually do. )
    ==> CURE:
    If you do get a blister, wait until bedtime, pierce it with a sharp disinfected metal pin, drain it completely, ( Do NOT bandage it ) and then go to bed and remember: No socks! ( You should never sleep with the same socks you've been wearing all day, now come on what the hell's wrong witcha ? ! ) . Because you haven't been walking on it for a few hours, it'll dry and be well on its way to healing. Then in the morning, put a bandage on it and repeat the two-pairs-of-socks protocol.
    I'm a diabetic and any wound on mt feet - especially in the relatively unsanitary conditions at Bico - are something I want to avoid.
    I've been Bicolleening since 1007. These tricks have been learned at the cost of great pain and suffering throughout my adventures, and all you people would be wise to heed them.

    I'm so glad medical conditions are exempt to the phone rule, it was the one thing holding me back from going

      It is an exemption, of course, but keeping it hidden as much as possible is still the golden rule! Hope you get to attend one day!

    There will be more you want to carry than you expect. Here are some easy to bring accessories:
    - easy to carry seating for group fire pits, or just to take a break - folding 3-leg stool, 2-board "viking" chairs, or waterproof blankets + pillow, etc.
    - large canvas possibles bag/shoulder sack - great for shopping, carrying sketchbooks & supplies, missives, treasures, etc...
    - small wicker basket with lid for camp trash - I would include clear plastic bags inside to make it easier to keep things sealed and bug free.
    - medium wicker hand-basket to carry toiletries, clean clothes and a towel to the shower, or necessities to the toilet (TP, hand sanitizer, creams, pads, etc.)
    - large wicker back-pack for moving a LOT of goodies (blankets, folding stool, firewood, snacks and mead to the group fire pit)
    The baskets are nice because they can often be stacked inside one another for travel, are usually available in thrift stores, and the rigidity of the very large "backpack" style is nice to carry hard things like fire wood because it doesn't hurt your back as much.
    I like the bucket idea. But take it one step further and carry 2 buckets on a staff across your shoulders. This balances the load, making it easier to carry back, and provides more water for personal ablution as well as camp cooking/cleaning/etc.

      The folks doing The Voyage North are running Hynafol down here in November, and that was the earliest in the year they could manage a LARP and it still be habitable :D
      Apparently, Texas in November is about like Quebec in August, so there's a lot of crossover and similarity. I've been sharing your vids with the playerbase there as well

    I was just reading that apparently even if soap is branded as biodegradible or "river safe" - you should never use soap in any natural body of water. No matter how natural it is, soap is still a surfactant and can mess up natural water ways and hurt the plants and animals that live there. I was guilty of this in past years, but now if I wash in the river, it will just be with water.
    I believe there is also an outdoor primative shower that uses river water and heats it with the sun - and the drain water hopefully goes into some sort of leechfield that goes into the soil to be broken down before making its way back to surface water.

    Hey there! Excellent suggestions all, thank you so much for the tip. May I also recommend a bunch of bandaid, triple antibiotic ointment, some chewable antacids and pestobismol as well? And also some clothes line with pins, sleeping shades too. This will be not only our first ever larp event, but also our first time to Bico for me and the lads as well, we figured we either go big or go home LOL! We've greatly enjoyed watching your videos, and we hope to run into you there. So until then, keep up the great work, and cheers from sunny California!

    Fantastic video! I’ve been wanting to go to Bicolline for years and am hoping 2023 is finally my year :D I’m curious what the cooking situation is like at Bico? If I don’t opt for the meal plan, am I allowed to bring a camping stove with me for making my meals?

    I was thinking you could purchase a couple of those fancy lookin pocket watches and hand them to all your party members and you can schedule a time of where to meet up since wrist watches and smartphones wont be allowed.

    for washing hair you can always go medieval. use a fine tooth comb and comb out your hair then run a clean towel over your hair do this several times it will remove the dirt and a lot of the oil from your hair. this is what they did in the old days they would only wash their hair a few times a month with soap and water
