This looks like good fun. This video sums everything really well, it'd be kinda intimidating showing up having to ask for all the rules from the seasoned players
I'm glad this helped shed some light on the game system! Bico's combat scale can be a bit daunting, but it becomes much more fluid once you learn the combat rules!
I am seeing this video just before I leave to the airport for Bico!!! This was really helpful thank you so much simpler system than my system in the UK and you explained it well thank you. So excited I cannot wait!!!
Glad it could be of some help to clarify things!! You'll see, it's really simple as soon as you spend your first 15 minutes on the battlefield!! I wish you safe travels and see you soon!!!
My brother and friend went for the first time last year and invited me for next year. I'm a huge fan of medieval and viking stuff i can't wait thanks for the video!!!
Haha, thank you!! I got it custom made after watching the 1st part of the last season, I HAD TO! Hope to see you there too, please say hi to Grog if you see him!
I saw one of your more recent videos and I went back and watched some older ones, I'm not gonna lie I liked the old intro better but that's just me, also thanks for making this content its pretty hard to find
Hahaha, that's cool, this channel is ever growing and changing so the intro may very well change again!! And you're welcome! Just trying to make Bico as accessible as possible for everyone!!
Very similar to amtgard, here is a question, is there a rule against drum rolling?. It's where you quite literally drum in someone with your weapon. It's frowned on in my game but allowed.
It can happen with spears as the range of motion is smaller to count as a hit, but it is generally frowned upon. Most people also wear a lot of layers of armor and will simply not feel such light hits
Quick question where does the Bicolline combat rules stand on Larp blaster pistols and rifles like FakeSteel, B3's and more nerfy looking ones like Carny Rex's ones?
Bicolline has a very loose lore regarding its races, you can pretty much be whatever you want! We got Dwarves, Orcs, Elves, Mermaids, Faes, Lycans, you name it!
@@LunaticReason I know of a few characters that you'd probably really get along with then! Bico has 25 years of lore that was organically built and written to so it's quite deep!
Great refresher, thanks! Question- (its been so long i forget) can we use two swords? one in each hand? i wanna try duel wielding this year if its allowed. See you on the battlefield!
Also if you have a small shield you can use it with your two weapons if you can hold it. Let's say you have two swords you can strap your shield to your off hand and have a little cover from arrows and it's also really useful if you don't have any armor. It's less accurate than holding it with your hand and you may be a little encumbered by it but it can save you alot of times.
@@LarpLegion Past the countless abandoned and destroyed ships washed ashore, where pirates dare not meet a similar fate, deep in the depths of the mysterious island of Soumess, where explorers seldom live to see such sights, there is word of a fortified encampment. Some say with tents three stories tall, others say it stretches for miles, but the one thing these few explorers can agree on, is that this fortress flies a green and orange banner - The banner of the Trash Kings. The Trash Kings first appeared in the realm in 1019, shortly after the "La Chasse Est Ouverte" campaign decimated the Scaven population, and forcing the few surviving rat-men back to Nazgaroth. In this time, trash littered the streets of almost every realm. Andore, Berkwald, Imperial territories, all lands, no matter how powerful, overlooked the importance of the Scaven, and the public service they unwittingly provided. Fortunately for the realm, these explorers descended on the continent. From North to South, East to West, these men began collecting and cataloguing all refuse, latrine waste, scraps, and garbage. The streets were left clean, cleaner than they had ever been. They were welcomed in every region, every realm, save for Irendille, who had no trash to collect nor reason to trust such strangers. They came with discarded necklaces of pure gold from Argan, jewel-encrusted bracers from Terres De Sud, and, of course, long forgotten crowns of long-forgotten kings. As a result, peasants were quick to refer to them as "Roi Des Poubelle", or "Trash Kings". A Trash King is an explorer, and a scavenger. They travel with their guild in the nomadic Trash Kingdom, a city of tents that moves from region to region, collecting their riches out of what they find in the garbage. They seek no payment and no glory, just your trash. They have been known to work with scavens, with a trade agreement that provides grimy, dull, and dusty gold and jewellery to the Trash Kings, in exchange for clean, spotless and shiny dinnerware. Happy with this contract, the rat-men consider Trash Kings "Honorary Scavens". No one knows what the Trash Kings business in Soumess is, but they currently reside in Imperial territory, in part due to a trade deal with the famous famous sea merchant Hugo Bartez.
Well while I would definitely agree for more role-play heavy games or smaller scale ones, you *need* to touch someone to heal them. If you are not comfortable with that, I would then recommend not waiting for a healer to come bu
Was für sinnlose Regeln!

great video :) I was hoping to find a video describing the combat rules, so thanks!

Yooo, that's awesome! I go to Bico with my own brother and it is always really cool to fight side-by-side, I'm sure you'll enjoy it too!
good directions on how to play on the battlefield, excellent tips.
I'm glad I could be of assistance!
Bien joué ! Plus devrait écouter ce video... cela éviterait de la confusion !
Thanks for the info, very helpful and all good to know. Looking forward to running into you there, cheers!
Glad it could be of some help! Please say hi if you see me!!
@@LarpLegion Definitely will do, you are actually on the list of people we want to meet when we get there.
I love medieval green and brown forest ranger archer costumes I need to find some friends to do medieval costume stuff with me.
HI LL
do you know the poundage restriction for Larp bows??
Omg I want your shirt! Thanks for the video hopefully see you there

Are head/neck striking legal surfaces/areas?

How do scale, lamellar, and brigandines count for armour points. They are flexible, but still rigid plates.
Sadly, Bico is a bit weird about that and I do believe those are now counted as ''light armor'' and only provide 1 armor point
i love that armour it looks so cool
Thank you!! It was actually my 2nd piece of armor ever!! It's part of the Destroyer set by Artisans d'Azure!!

Quick question where does the Bicolline combat rules stand on Larp blaster pistols and rifles like FakeSteel, B3's and more nerfy looking ones like Carny Rex's ones?
Only bows and crossbows are allowed, but multiple guilds field their own war machines that are pretty much foam projectiles for the most part!
Can I use a two handed warhammer?
I wanna go, Does Bicolline have a lore, is there magic, races like Elves, Dwarves, Orcs etc? Is it purely Eurocentric?
Bicolline has a very loose lore regarding its races, you can pretty much be whatever you want!
We got Dwarves, Orcs, Elves, Mermaids, Faes, Lycans, you name it!
@@LarpLegion Cool I ask because I love lore the deeper and more established the better. Think if i ever go down it would be a as a Kitsune/elfish vibe
@@LunaticReason I know of a few characters that you'd probably really get along with then!

Are people allowed to attack the healers?
How do you cast magic?
There used to be Battle Magic at Bico in the days of old but it is no longer possible, other than healing magic to revive fallen soldiers
Do the guilds own the canon and ballistas or can you buy them as an individual???
Each guilds that fields war machines have built them themselves and field them either for their own troops or to whoever pays the most
Great refresher, thanks! Question- (its been so long i forget) can we use two swords? one in each hand? i wanna try duel wielding this year if its allowed. See you on the battlefield!
Yes you can! Takes a lot of skills to master but it can be such a powerful combo!! Good luck, you got this!

How many points does it take to kill a monster?
Monsters have 10 hits points, which are kept track of by a referee that follows them and keeps em safe!
What should I do if I don't have any friends that are going with me?
There is a Bicolline Facebook group for all of the community and there is a specific one for English Speakers!
Good job!
The trash-kings salute you
What an honor, THE Trash King!! Thank you, your majesty

LOL for the Helfire Club shirt. 😅
I had to represent!! Hahaha
All the rules for archery kinda puts me off tbh. Reminds me of when dodgeball got banned in schools.
As someone who got shot in the eye by a padded arrow and nearly loss my vision,
I think more rules can only help, rather than banning bows & arrows.
