Hey! I played the lady who brought you to the visions in the tent. Thank you for creating a video about our location and storytelling! We try to be a plotlocation focusing on English language, sharing plot information and immersive roleplay experiences that add depth to the world. It's extremely rewarding to see how you guys have experienced it. Thanks from the Atelier/Wardens team!
Skill Tree, you folks present some excellent larp kit tutorial videos and now you have attended one of my favorite larps with a pair of great videos to discuss it. Huzzah! Watching these two videos has helped in my research to make a return this year after a 5-6 year break from the hobby. And let me say, as I person who put in a lot of effort to help introduce the English speaking international larp community to Drachenfest and Mythodea “back in the day” I understand the challenges and you are doing a great service.
Heyyyy. Here is your friendly undead candle maker. I really loved the scene with you two. I could really see the message we wanted to spread, get picked up by you two. Until next conquest !
I just want to add for those who might think that they got any sort of special treatment with cool events because of this channel, that is 100% not the case! My girlfriend and I attended our first Conquest last year and had a similar experience! We were just walking down a road one day and one of the people in charge sent us on a quest to crack an encrypted message. This took us to the Atelier, where we got a ton of information, from which we were then sent to join in the ritual that helped change the Black Prince, which they mentioned in the video. And we were just some newbie players who didn't even have the Crimson Company to support us! So happy that you enjoyed the event and I hope I might run into you in the future!
Hey, i'm the commander of the fighters with the red sun on their banner, glad to hear you liked fighting with us. If you guys come again next year, feel free to join us in battle. The people playing in the mud actually are also my people, there was no profit incentive in any kind to this 😂
Oh wow, that 'family' you talk about at the end of the video was me and my youngest son. But the woman with us (with the leather spaulder) was not my wife😂, she was an archer in our Skargen crew. We had a little tour trough battlefield and settler camps, already in Skargen outfit, which ended at the Tross. My son said it would be funny if we would meet you - and a minute later it happened. It was so amazing to meet you (and now to see you remembering us) . I hoped to meet you on battlefield the next days but didn't see you. Maybe next year.
If I recognize the armor in your picture correctly I was with you. It was really funny to meet them, moments after talking about it. I also would have walked past them. 😄
Ohman, it was such a joy watching this video! I was the Undead Flesh who talked about their face being touched by St. Vitoria! I hope you find out more about our particular Levy in the future! Was a blast to have you in the scene!
You guys gave us such an amazing moment! We really appreciated it. One of the most immersive parts of the whole experience for us! Can't wait to learn more!
Awesome to finally give this a watch! I am surprised of the amount of adventure you got from that side quest! Happy you paid off your debt! But now i have to come up with more tasks! 😂 - The guy who played Capt. Nicodemus and who sent you on your journey! (Looking forward to watching part2 tomorrow!)
Hey there ! i'm the delivery guy you two met before the conquest start ;D Hope everything was fine for you, I feel kind of sad that you have to deal with this absolutely hideous weather for your first Conquest... I'm glad you got a great time anyway ! Hope to see you maybe on an other European event who knows !
Conquest this year was my first larp in a very long time. It was incredible. despite the mud and rain. I had pre-weathered my gear with mud, but i wouldnt have needed to. My moccasins quickly became a sacrifice to the mud gods so i went most of the event barefoot. Which really worked for my former peasant/serf character. So much happened, and i met so many awesome people in those few days. One of the most memorable moments for me was probably when i got my back fixed by the undead flesh. Or that time after the after party when i joined the brothers X and I on a merry jaunt to the battlepond (which wasnt our original destination) and found a most disturbing love letter. All in all, had a great time. For the Company!
I am somewhat envious of you getting loaned one of the rapier prototypes. That one definitely is on my list too. Imediately saw it when I came by at the Freyhand tent. The do make absolutely stunning classic larp weapons. So many stores changed to cast foam, which for example with Wyvern is some really damn good stuff, but Freyhand has perfected the oldschool style of carved foam covered with latex to a degree they have no trouble holding up to the much improved detailing and shape of the newer techniques to make them. And their stuff lasts. I have a 6 year old cludgel from them that still looks like new.
You already know those were my bags you stole 😁. I'm glad to see the story had this much impact and the spoils were put to good use. Amazing to hear more stories of the event. Everyone there was great. Thanks again for putting this together and giving a bunch of us the chance to meet and play.
My god I KNEW I SAW YOU!!! I played in the Blutpackt camp. My group wears Petrol/Bordaux coloured clothes. Maybe you saw us. Glad you had so much fun. Hope to see you next year :)
Me: wow what did you guys get for your gems? Maddie: our freedom! What about you? Me: *covered in jewelry* uhhh nothin😬 - Fr tho I had so much fun rping with you guys:) miss you two already💛💛
That looked like so much fun! Everyone doing things like falling away from a mage to taking you to see the undead, to the coin quest. Wow! That has to be the greatest LARP! I'm in!
I saw you during a battle and thought: Isnt that the guy from Skill Tree? But then I thought: Naah man, he is from the US or canada, we would not come to germany for larping. awesome, that you came to Brokelohe, hope to see you again this year!
That is definitely in the top two for the nicest / most realistic larp rapier that I've ever seen. It's gorgeous! I love the Norse inspired design on Maddie's(sp?) sword as well! Side note, my dream is to make a Musketeer group to crash LARP events with.
This event was a gold mine on so many levels! You're gonna get at least two videos about the event itself and who knows how many videos from ideas for things you saw at the event that you can make at home.
The Conquest was different this year than in previous years, different wild. It was really exhausting for us NPCS, because there was a lot of uncertainty about the operational plans for a long time, which of course also restricted our city game. And we were so worried because of the waether, there were a lot of things, that we weren't able to perform as NPScs. But when the undead were drowned during one of the stormw, it showed once again what a brilliant community the NPCS are. I tried a bit to keep my eyes open on the battlefield, if we see you, then we would have dragged you to our white-touched one ;) and Freyhand is one of the coolest german Larp Shops :D I love my short hunting spear so much. And the white smoke was the spawning mechanism for us Skargen :D to 18:25 the abbility is called "Druckwelle" so its a blaste wave and it's meant to get the battle lines moving a bit and give us NPCs room to open up the battle lines Thanks for the extensive video, it's really interesting from an NPC point of view to see more of all these player things. Are you planning to come back to the Conquest next year?
Hi, from which ship are you? It really was harder than last year. We had double shifts on battlefield or only short breaks between the shifts. On the other hand we were lucky ones with our campside on a slope.White smoke was also used for Skargen rituals and by one of our ships group to attack 'out of the fog'. There are some real nice pics that shows how it 's used.
I completle forgott about the other Uses of the smoke, thanks for the Addition :) My is group is the Seewolf oder seawolf We are the Ship with the huge white flag....we are very easy to see with that :D
@@privatepixie84 Oh, I see. You were the ones that cuts a big piece out of their sail for their banner 😂😂😂. One of my sons faught with one of your waves, he is a Nebelläufer (fog runner) from our ship 'Nebelkralle' (Fogclaw). They especially used white smoke for attacking.
@@Rolfur.Vargson ahh cool, yes i talked with him a little bit, but as far as I remeber he was not with my wave. But maybe he remembers, that there was quite a small shildwoman who was yelling a lot :D

It would be called Schlammageddon ( a play on armageddon and mud in german) if that one wasn´t already taken by the event a few years ago everyone talks about that sunk into the mud, the original mud apocalypse and memeber of the big three, the Drachenfest. This Conquest would be "Schlammageddon 2, Mytraspera Edition".
@@Rolfur.Vargson Its a good fit. I like Schlammageddon 2, Mytraspera Edition because I have been around long enough to intimately know both, but for many that was first contact with a Mudocalypse. About the Mudpocolypse....one of the most long-term events, Pennsic, went horribly wrong one year with particularly bad hurricane blasts. To this day, we still laugh about it. It was epic in it's own way. Survival bonds people I hear. The place was trashed and everyone helped everyone with everything, and just HUNG ON at it's worst. However, after decades of being authentic medieval occupied, I miss my gaming days, and long for the game. It was so much fun meeting you guys. It's a shame we didn't have the opportunity to cross blades on the battlefield. (I am a member from Black dynasty member btw)
This sound really fun. You need another floating camera trailing you. They can be your chronicler and then they could also be a player. It would be funny and entertaining if they got distracted.
One of my favorite things about Germany is, even if you know German, they are often more eager to practice their English than you are to practice your German. I really wish I had been able to go.
You guys would probably love Drachenfest US! A lot of the stuff that you talk about liking is a core experience of Drachenfest. This year there were like 600+ people and it was only their second event.
Thats very cool! From everything I have heard about the beginners package, the quest stuff was really cool and engaging and a great entry point. I think the "whats going on, what should I do, how can I get to know people?" thing can be covered by pretty much any normal player group that is happy to include new players (which are pretty much all of them I think). Looking forward to see where these experiences take you!
That looks like a blast! I don't anticipate being able to go to Conquest myself, (at least, not in the near future) so it's great to be able to live vicariously through you guys and your adventures ^_^ Looking forward to part 2!
Man, I was hoping to happen by you on the streets or have you come to us eventually, since you seemed be interested in the shady underbelly of the Tross ;) Hope to geht the chance to have one of two things happen next year!
Oh god I remember when the sky darkened and the rain started xD I was there trying to solve some plot stuff, the clouds got darker and people around me started being like "we should withdraw, get to somewhere with a roof!" And I was so immersed, I was like "Just one more minute!" Then the rain came and from one second to the other it was crazy weather. And I looked around me and all of my friends were gone because they had run off to tents and I was suddenly in the middle of the field where there were still some enemies ,:D I do NOT play a fighter...
Sounds awesome. I was there too, had an eye out but was not searching for you 😊 Your first days are really the opposite of mine, we where at the second to farthest field with our camp and the weather trapped us. Tents needed to be rebuild, we digged trenches, shuffled tends end beds around so we had more space to dry stuff etc At the Halfpoint of the Con I was ready to burn everything. Also I was there as a streetmerchant with a Bellyshop, selling matches, firestarters and stuff like that...the rain really hindered that😅 Still had good time tho And bonded quite deep with new and old friends over this battle against rain, wind, mud and the longing to go adventuring.
This is so cool! I’ve been watching the channel for so long and have never dreamed of going to a larp, but watching how immersive it is through your stories makes me want to dig in.
I love your long Story time Videos, i m just glued to your lips, you make such an amazing Team, telling your experience in an immersive exiting way. Can't wait for the next part of the journey :)
The Larp looks and sounds similar to one of our UK systems, EMPIRE, we have roughly 4000 players, several Nations with unique looks like feels, on-site Larp traders, in-game economy, battles, skirmishes and an overarching plot. If you are in the UK and haven't tried Empire yet, I highly recommend it but we do also have other large systems too... Shout out to curious pastimes and lorien trust
Okay the Wuo long guys are friends of mine and the guy at 09:09 on the ground is like a really good friend of mine so this is hilarious. I had heared the stories of the mudd and i'm glad to see it didn't hurt the fun over there.
would you put a bunch of the unedited photage from your "ghost" camera person into a massive video for people to check out? i'd love to flip through a video like that to see and hear the world going on around you
Hello there ! I might be a little late under that video but I would like to know if you had any news about the Freyhand rapier prototype that you present at 10:05 ? I also had the chance to test it and I need that sword ! (I saw you test it by the way but didn't want to intrude) If you have any news, could you share it ! Thank you very much ! Love your content ! I learned so much thanks to you :)
Yes, exactly my thoughts. The only think I have know about Mythodea is large battles, and that is not my main priority. But this sounds more like what I am into. Also great to hear you will get by in english.
I would love to get into this stuff as I do LARP in the modern military era with airsoft and as a dungeons and dragons player this looks epic but I have no idea how one even gets into to this.
I'll be there in 2025. It'll be my maiden voyage and first LARP with more than 20 people. I want a polearm, tower shield, two handed sword,...,but I live half a planet away so packing long weapons could be an issue. Several experienced players have said that borrowing those items is entirely possible but of course I want my own 😁 Maybe I'll bring a mace and borrow a shield? I'm going all in as an NPC with the Black Dynasty. All Hail The Heralds Of Merciless Order!

And I looked around me and all of my friends were gone because they had run off to tents and I was suddenly in the middle of the field where there were still some enemies ,:D I do NOT play a fighter...
Sounds awesome.
I was there too, had an eye out but was not searching for you 😊
Your first days are really the opposite of mine, we where at the second to farthest field with our camp and the weather trapped us. Tents needed to be rebuild, we digged trenches, shuffled tends end beds around so we had more space to dry stuff etc
At the Halfpoint of the Con I was ready to burn everything.
Also I was there as a streetmerchant with a Bellyshop, selling matches, firestarters and stuff like that...the rain really hindered that😅
Still had good time tho
And bonded quite deep with new and old friends over this battle against rain, wind, mud and the longing to go adventuring.
This is so cool! I’ve been watching the channel for so long and have never dreamed of going to a larp, but watching how immersive it is through your stories makes me want to dig in.
Glad to see you have a great time on Conquest in germany! Hope to see another video again next year!
I love your long Story time Videos, i m just glued to your lips, you make such an amazing Team, telling your experience in an immersive exiting way. Can't wait for the next part of the journey :)
Loved it!!! Can't wait for part 2!!!!!
Looks like too much fun, thanks for sharing!!
😊 😃
The Larp looks and sounds similar to one of our UK systems, EMPIRE, we have roughly 4000 players, several Nations with unique looks like feels, on-site Larp traders, in-game economy, battles, skirmishes and an overarching plot. If you are in the UK and haven't tried Empire yet, I highly recommend it but we do also have other large systems too... Shout out to curious pastimes and lorien trust
I so want to come to Empire! Currently working on my kit, but hopefully I'll be able to check it out in the next year - it sounds so fantastic!
It would be great to see Skill Tree something similar with Empire by Profound Decisions in the UK.
I experience Conquest vicariously through these videos.
That looks like an amazing adventure!
It really was!
This is amazing!! The rp experiences you talked about gave me goosebumps!! So cool!!
This sounds absolutely wild. Thank you for sharing!
This is pretty amazing, guys. I'm pretty jelly, but i'm glad you guys are having an awesome time
Looks like you had a wonderful time 🎉 I'm looking forward to your next video. Be Blessed 🕊️🌻
This is great! Thank you for giving us the play by play on this event.
That interaction killed me! 😂 Keep it up! I love this stuff!
I don't even larp or arpeegee, but this looks like so much fun. How easy or difficult is it to play if you have mobility issues?
I very badly want to attend this myself, it sounds so fun! Thanks for making a video about it and giving great information
Thanks for a nice video! Sounds like You had a great time there) Wait for the nex one.
Larp isn't just bashing each other with a sword. Even Conquest isn't.
Okay the Wuo long guys are friends of mine and the guy at 09:09 on the ground is like a really good friend of mine so this is hilarious. I had heared the stories of the mudd and i'm glad to see it didn't hurt the fun over there.
she small but watching her wrangled that dude in at the start of the video made me LUAGH naha
would you put a bunch of the unedited photage from your "ghost" camera person into a massive video for people to check out? i'd love to flip through a video like that to see and hear the world going on around you
Hope you are planing to be there next year too!
So jealous I did not get to go but soon and if you all run a game just announce it I’ll definitely be there for that game!
Man! This was exactly the type of video I was looking for. Just someone sharing his IT-Stories, Adventures and some OT-Stuff to go along :)
Damn. That sounds impressive.
That sounds awesome! Looking forward to the next part!
Mud for the Overlord! Buckets For King Garvan!
(Also, the "spiderman" spiked dude, would be the Overlord of the Gutter Runners)
It seems like Europe really has larping down pat compared to us here in North America. Very jealous, and I'd love to attend as well someday.
Hello there ! I might be a little late under that video but I would like to know if you had any news about the Freyhand rapier prototype that you present at 10:05 ? I also had the chance to test it and I need that sword ! (I saw you test it by the way but didn't want to intrude)
If you have any news, could you share it ! Thank you very much !
Love your content ! I learned so much thanks to you :)
I like how Maddie was rubbing her knife on him in a flirty/threatening manner
2024 Goal - I totally need to experience something like this in Australia or maybe even Germany. Looks like so much fun
Super awesome 😊 only saw you there in short passing on the way to the battlefield.
Larper from denmark awesome vid
Hmmmmm.......Seriously thinking about trying to go to Conquest sometime now.
Yes, exactly my thoughts. The only think I have know about Mythodea is large battles, and that is not my main priority. But this sounds more like what I am into.
Also great to hear you will get by in english.
i need part 2!
Bael at the start... Iiii've been there XD thats a mid event ref if ever Ive seen one XD glad it persists at every size of event!
I am so jealous, I have wanted to go there for years.
Tried to find you but didn't figure out where your camp is.
Greetings from the Northern Seal
Nice video! (Almost as good as if Maddie edited it) 😂
She is the true master editor lol
@@SkillTree you still did a good job!
I'm excited to see this!! Although I wish I could have come I bet it's so much fun
So for someone who has never been to a larp is there one that you would recommend for a first timer?
I would love to get into this stuff as I do LARP in the modern military era with airsoft and as a dungeons and dragons player this looks epic but I have no idea how one even gets into to this.
Do you by chance have a link to that doublet ? I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Thanks
Omgggg this makes me wanna get into Larping even more
MudQuest
ConQuest is the largest in Europe BUT Pennsic War in Butler County, PA, US is even larger
I didn't know that it is now accepted to label SCA as LARP ;-)
I'll be there in 2025. It'll be my maiden voyage and first LARP with more than 20 people. I want a polearm, tower shield, two handed sword,...,but I live half a planet away so packing long weapons could be an issue. Several experienced players have said that borrowing those items is entirely possible but of course I want my own 😁 Maybe I'll bring a mace and borrow a shield? I'm going all in as an NPC with the Black Dynasty. All Hail The Heralds Of Merciless Order!
Omg it's clifford and Maddie
Don't forget to smash the like button y'all!!!!!
👆
Looks awesome! Can't wait to see more. And hear about the Skill Tree gang. :P
Just came to this video from one on his older ones, the man is aging like a fine wine.
