    Loved your tutorial, very easy to follow along! I'm almost finished making this shawl, I used yarn I had on hand which was Landscapes Desert Spring, but have run out so just ordered some more and two Caron Cakes as well to make another that will look just like yours as I think the pattern gets lost a bit in the Landscapes Desert Spring colors of my current yarn. Still pretty, but I really like the way the pattern jumps out at you with the color you used. Looking forward to more tutorials!!

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  4 года назад +1

      Unfortunately I cannot suggest what rows to increase because I have not yet done it myself.
      But if you did go about it, you would increase the pineapples again.
      As you see they get bigger as you go, so you would just keep going with that.
      Thank you for watching, commenting and subscribing!

      I came to the comments to see if anyone had done this in a variegated yarn. I'm afraid that the color changes are taking away from the pretty work, and I'm not sure if I should finish it! I know your comment is a year old but... hey😁 you have a picture?

    • @Krissyrocksoutloud
      @Krissyrocksoutloud 6 лет назад

      @@valeriedenny4882 I haven't made this specific pattern but if you're going to use a variegated yarn, I recommend using a slow change yarn such as an ombre. The slow color changes look so nice but don't distract from the intricate patterns. I made the virus shawl using scheepjes whirl and it looks beautiful, the pattern is still the star but the colors are so nice. That's just my recommendation though. Maybe try the red heart ombre?

    Jonna,
    I like your videos, they are really helpful. Well explained. I want to make a gilet with this pattern, any idea of how can I make the armholes?
    Thanks

    I haven't watched the whole pattern but I have a question. I would like to do this in a fingering weight yarn for a more delicate shawl. Is it simple to increase the rows to get the size that I want? I don't want to use and bulky yarn.

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet

      Unfortunately not easily increased. I get this question constantly. Now I don’t make a shawl pattern unless is can be made bigger by row repeats. Thank you for watching, sorry for the disappointment.

    I am loving this tutorial.
    Im using caron cake yarn like you and a size 6 hook. but my clusters look bigger and closer together than yours. any idea why?

    • @victoriaduncan5137
      @victoriaduncan5137 7 лет назад +1

      In my experience it can depend on tension. Some people crochet much tighter and other looser which is why patterns generally have a stitch count per inch/cm :-)

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  7 лет назад

      Like Victoria said, everyone crochets differently. I would not worry to much as long as you are liking the hook you are using and the finished look. I do recommend blocking this shawl so any "close' stitches will be pulled to their rightful place.
      experimenting with other hooks is okay too!
