Thanks especially for that. Although I am fairly new to assemblage of garments, I found much of the instructions to be too slow, but it is a beautiful garment and I look forward to finishing it!

    Could you tell me, please, if a 4-ply acrylic yarn like Caron Simply Soft would work for this project? I know you said the cotton was used so it could be a summer shawl, but is that the only reason? Many thanks!

    • @ItsCrochetOClock
      @ItsCrochetOClock  5 лет назад +1

      You could make it with whatever yarn you wish to. If you made it with CSS you’d not have to make as many motifs because the yarn is so much larger in weight than the 4 ply. I’d just watch that carefully as your shawl is growing to ensure you don’t end up making a blanket by mistake!

    Gorgeous shawl! I need a little more info on the yarn itself. I can't get that specific yarn locally, and if I was to order it, not only is the price of shipping nuts, but being in Canada, I'd also have to pay duty. Can you verify what size the yarn is so that I can substitute? I saw that it's a 4-ply cotton, but even their website doesn't give the size. Would you consider it fingering weight (1) or a sport weight (2)? It looks too thin to be a DK/Light weight (3). It's definitely not Medium (4).

    • @suebrooks447
      @suebrooks447 5 лет назад +2

      It looks like an English 4ply to me but I have no idea of the equivalent yarn in the USA and Canada. It is thinner than a DK. We don't have our yarn graded by numbers here. It's hard for us to find the right yarn equivalent for the American system of a 4 or a 3 etc. It's a shame it's not standardised worldwide. The same with UK and USA terms.

    Everybody going on about the dbl magic ring and I'm still completely clueless as to how to do the next part talked about at the end. How in the heck am I supposed to do R's 1, 2, & 3 around this square??!! Instead of spending time doing 7 dbl's, 7 ch's, and 7 dbl's again, I would have rather watched how to do the halfway around part because video 2 jumps off from there with no explaination in either video on how to do it! So I'm sitting here with a pretty little square which is pretty much wasted yarn because I can't continue with this pattern. Sigh.

    -Steathily just uses normal chain ring and uses a yarn needle to pull the center closed after.-

    I'm looking to see if I can find a blocking tutorial for this series and I don't see one. Are you going to be making one? Please say yes lol I don't wanna start making this one and not know how to block it. Thanks a bunch in advance and thank you very much for these tutorials!

      Hello Deborah. I did not make a tutorial on blocking it because there are so many tutorials out there for blocking already. It isn't that hard to do! I promise. If you're on Facebook you can join the It's Crochet O'Clock Facebook group and we'd be happy to help you through the process.

      Visit the link in the description box and you’ll see a great deal of the project. This was done as a crochet along and this was only the first part of it. There are several other videos for this project that show it as it progresses.

    I wish you can just show it, instead of just talking about it.

      Some people don't know how to do it by just seeing it
