    This is so pretty I want to try to make this I have a question if somebody could help me I received several balls of yarn that is beautiful but it is a super fine one I am wondering if anyone has made us all out of a super find one it looks like it would be very pretty for this pattern does anyone think that this would work please let me know

    • @ItsCrochetOClock
      @ItsCrochetOClock  3 года назад

      It could absolutely work but the motifs would be considerably smaller so you would have to make more rows of them to compensate.

    How do you block this completed project?

    • @ItsCrochetOClock
      @ItsCrochetOClock  5 лет назад +1

      I have foam mats that I use for blocking all my projects.

    • @aprilwoodall7068
      @aprilwoodall7068 5 лет назад +1

      Do you have a tutorial? I've never blocked anything before. And anything I've ever seen on blocking was with single squares and not such a big project like a shawl. 😊

    • @ItsCrochetOClock
      @ItsCrochetOClock  5 лет назад +2

      BobWilson123 has a great tutorial on blocking large items. She uses a different method than I do but perhaps it will be helpful for you. Blocking something larger than a square is still the same premise, just bigger!

    Is there a part in the video series that explains what to do with the extra yarn that is left on the motifs? The center string and the end strings that we had to leave extra length for?

    • @ItsCrochetOClock
      @ItsCrochetOClock  6 лет назад +1

      You have to weave those into your work with a darning needle. If you don't your work will unravel.

    • @breezymars
      @breezymars 6 лет назад +1

      Right, but is weaving demonstrated in one of the videos?

    • @ItsCrochetOClock
      @ItsCrochetOClock  6 лет назад +1

      No, weaving in the ends is not demonstrated. If you need help to learn find me on Facebook and I can do a private video session with you to show you how to weave in the ends if you'd like.

    Why are we joining the wrong side of a half motif to the right side of the shawl motifs? Why aren't we either finishing off and re joining yarn to the right side of our half motifs or slip stitching across the straight edge, to join the right sides together?

    • @ItsCrochetOClock
      @ItsCrochetOClock  4 года назад

      Lyn R Because I follow the instructions given to me by the designer. That is the way the join as you go pattern is written and that is how I filmed the videos.

      @@ItsCrochetOClock Sorry to have pointed this out. After crocheting for more years than you are probably as old as, I just couldn't join mine this way. After spending so much time on the body of the main shawl, it just didn't seem right. One row showing the WS, is a lot nicer than three rows showing. I simply love the way the motifs are joined, so different. It is such a pretty shawl and so pleased to have made it. Thank you for going to the trouble of making the video to help others achieve this lovely shawl.

      @@Lyn4817 Thank you for pointing this out. This is the first time that I am doing a join as you go and when I got to these half motifs, I thought that I had done something wrong,I kept taking apart the half motif, then did what you have done most likely...I have opted for the one row showing the WS! (I didn't like having 3 WS rows for some reason). Good thing that I decided to read the comment section)

      @@valerythompson4052 Glad I could help. It took me awhile to work out that what I could see, was wrong. I assume the designer didn't no any better. Unfortunately younger generations aren't ones to think for themselves. After 40 years of crocheting and knitting, I just couldn't accept the half motif join.

      @@valerythompson4052 Valery Thompson Seeing as you appear to be a like minded crocheter, I thought you may appreciate this as a project. ruclips.net/video/UWZthpbSL5g/видео.html
      I have just finished about eight shawls over the last couple of months. This project will definitely occupy a lot of my time, thankfully. It needs two wool packs to achieve the blanket the designer shows. That is 20 x 100gms of wool, or 2 skeins of each 10 colours, 184m per skein. Meaning a total of 3,680 metres of yarn, if you choose another yarn. I decided tondomit in the same muted colours because I feel the stitches are the standout stars of this inspiration project.
      Personally I think the cost of materials spread over the time it will take me to do this project, will be money well spent. I am blown away with this designers integrity to design the stitches required. Whether you choose to go down the same path or not, it is worth checking out the four part videos in the series. You can also purchase a digital copy of the pattern. Regardless, happy crocheting. I would love to know what you think of it and if you decide to do it or not.

    The way I look at the joining of motifs is not right. There will be wrong side and right side of motifs after joining.👎👎👎👎

    • @ItsCrochetOClock
      @ItsCrochetOClock  3 года назад

      The designer designed the half motifs in a way that makes it less noticeable once they are joined. Full motifs are worked completely different. You’re more than welcome to check the designers free pattern if you feel like I have made an error. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    Not to be hypercritical, but to give constructive criticism, I find myself avoiding clicking on your videos because of the intro. It just drags on and on. I know it's only a few seconds, but for me (and possibly others) that's a few seconds too long.

    • @daniellowe75
      @daniellowe75 2 года назад

      I don't have a problem with the intro. My issue is with the audio. I feel the microphone is too close to the presenter. You can hear her swallowing which is a bit off-putting (like listening to someone eat).
