  • In this tutorial I will teach you how I crochet this Easy Pineapple Shawl. Also known by the name Alpine Shawl, it is a very easy project with repeating rows. I have split this tutorial up into 3 parts.
The first part goes from row 1- row 9.
    The second from 10-16
and The 3rd part to repeat rows 10-16.
The third part also shows how to finish the shawl.
    Links to videos-
Part 2: • Easy Crochet Pineapple...
    Part 3: • Easy Pineapple Shawl P...
For this shawl I used a cotton blend yarn. In worsted weight. (4). 10 ply. About 400g. or about 684 yards. I recommend rounding to 700yards as mine had almost nothing extra.
This shawl measures from point to top 34 inches.

I hope you have fun making your shawl. Thank you for watching, leaving me a comment, sharing the RUclips link and subscribing if you haven’t!

I want to thank you for posting this pattern. I love to crochet and am very adept at reading a pattern and following an audio pattern. I have a thing where I get bored with simple patterns. Because of this I look for intermediate to expert patterns. I guess I am saying my brain thrives on challenging patterns and checks out on easy ones 😂. Your pattern caught my eye the most out of the dozens I looked at, and my brain said “WE HAVE COTTON BLEND YARN!” and I knew it had to be your pineapple 🍍 pattern. While I’m sure it is an intermediate pattern I also know that a beginner could follow along. Thank you for the brain stimulation 🧶! 🥰👏🏽🙏🏽

You don’t have to, I’ve used that yarn before. If you’re not comfortable with a small hook you could use the 4.5 or 5mm hook.
The pattern will work with those larger hooks too. But might come out looking even more lacy and the pineapple definition might not be as crisp. But can’t hurt to try it!

Unfortunately not for this video. It may help if you put your screen towards a mirror to watch?
My grandmother used to teach her left handed kids to crochet by sitting in front of a mirror.

Thank you so much for responding. It’s ok, I figured it out I think.
Actually by flipping it over and making sure it matched yours. That’s like using a mirror.
Like your other tutorials, I simply watched it a couple times before I started.
I look at your work as if I am reading a diagram. It started to make sense by row 4.
Once you taught the lattice part it reminded me of the virus shawl.
It’s repeating just like the virus shawl. It looks lot more complicated than it really is. But that’s because you are an excellent teacher !
You are truly an excellent instructor ! The way you lay your work down then explain exactly what we are doing and how that contribute to and creates the shape we are going for provides an excellent visual.
You explain concepts. Like the short chains decrease and why we do this. It sets a foundation for another learning experience.
Your lessons build on concepts. Just enough at a time and then I don’t get overwhelming!
Learning the virus shawl from you set up a broad foundation for me.
I appreciate you so very much and cannot Thank you
      Enough! ❤

Sorry to bother you. Can you tell me why you went with the f hook instead of a g? Just curious 😉. Have a great day

I personally liked it better for the yarn I was using.
You can use whatever hook you’re most comfortable with.
Thank you! I hope you have a great day too.
