I made this to wear along with my prom dress last year at my senior prom. Not only did I save my parents $90, I got countless complements on the beautiful pattern and managed to stay warm as my prom was on a boat!!

What a goergous shawl! I would love a copy of that book! I much rather go by graphs instead of the oldschool patterns. It's so much easier for me and explaines how to crochet shawls better than a pattern. I really love all your shawls they are so pretty and sexy and not to thick and bulky. They are perfect for spring, summer and fall, you can also bundle it up together as a scarf for winter! Thank you!

@@KristinOmdahl thank you for getting back to me really quickly, I must have your book! I haven't been in the mood to crochet lately, until I saw the premiere video on this shawl. I completely agree! The graphs/diagrams DO make things more easily understood for many of us! This pattern looks complex watching it but it is done without too much fuss because of the encouragement and amazing final product!

Kristin, you do such amazingly gorgeous work, it's a joy to come here and just browse through the various videos and see what all you've accomplished over the years. I only just discovered your channel a few days ago, so have a lot of catching up to do, but I'm enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the many items you knit and crochet. There are two shawls I want to crochet for myself, but this particular one might be made for a young woman in my church. She's tall and slender, and wears the most delightful vintage clothes, and I think this would look so good with her dresses.
I'm a very experienced crocheter, having learned almost 50 years ago, and keeping active in it all these decades, but I still find so many new things to learn and to make....even an "old dog" can learn new tricks from talented designers such as yourself ☺ (no, I'm not calling myself a dog, but am just using that old saying).

I have completed one of these and have 2 more in the works right now! they are so comfy!!
I used a thicker yarn though so I just increased the hook size until I found the right size for how I wanted it to look . Thank you so much for creating this amazing piece!!! I absolutely love the coursette tie look, It's a fav of mine

I love how encouraging you are in your instructions. I've been crocheting for 10 years, but I learn new things every time I do a project, and sometimes I try to be a perfectionist, and get frustrated.
This is my next project. You are an excellent instructor.

Hi Kristin - I just posted this to my facebook textile pages and groups and I wanted to post it here for you to read to- as you have done something that no one has been able to do for me for 40 plus years, Thank you for your wonderful videos. You are amazing, you always make me feel supported and you make very scary looking patterns easy peesy. here is what I posted, I hope that it gets you lots of new subscribers and likes
Hi Gals, I Love watching Kistin Omdhal Crochet - Have only been crocheting for a few weeks- self-taught from youtube after years of trying to get righties to teach me, I found that youtube is FULL of videos for lefties and in under a day I was able to follow patterns on RUclips of from beginner patterns!
Kristin has several books of her own patterns as well as being in several mags. She has a lovely voice and crochets at beginner speeds, repeating everything she does, giving lots of tips and is happy to help out problems via her comments.
I find that she has a way of making very hard looking patterns easy! You can crochet a beautiful lacy scarf along with her in a couple of hours, once you get a basic chain working without having to juggle your hooks and fingers,,,lol I hope that beginner or advance hookers will subscribe to her channel and support this beautiful soul. Cheers Teesha Morgan

I'm still trying to make this, but I'm having the hardest time. Without the pattern in the book, it's hard to know exactly where to put the stitches. And it matters. One try the edge on one side kept being too short. I fixed that issue now, but the slip stitches don't look as pretty as my first try. (It's been a few months between trying.) On first try the slip stiches make a very nice wavy pattern. On the second try, it just doesn't look the same. And I really wonder where the stitches are _supposed_ to go.

Ii have never seen something so beautiful. I have a girlfriend who owns a botique and has asked me to make a few of these different ones. my question is two-fold. how on earth do I figure the price and what is a fair percentage to either give or ask for my work. This may sound funny but up to now I have only sold my custom wool stocks. I also have a request for this shawl and vest. I love you channel and great directions especially since I am a visual learner.

Thank you so much. That is a very difficult question to answer. And if I had the answer, I would be selling handmade items in my shop, too. Unfortunately, it is difficult to price handmade items that are labor intensive. If you have more specific questions, I am happy to give you my opinions and/or advice. But the question in general is pretty difficult for me to answer. I hope that helps! xoxo, Kristin

Kristin Omdah. l would like to know how many grams or skeins this uses. I am more concerned about not going crazy this winter than how much I could earn from this. Thank you for your sage advise.
