Hey y'all!! I've missed you guys! I'll be posting a "Where I've Been" life Update video soon, along with other videos to follow! Thank you all for your love and support. See y'all soon!😙
Natural Nirvana In the video that u posted after the comb out was done and u were explaining why, I was wondering did you have a lot hair breaking off?
Natural Nirvana I combed mine out after only 9 months last sun..didn't finish til mon evening. .they were too small and damaged from all the coloring and bleaching I did..I used a thumb tack to get thru the ends..lots of conditioner AND water..so I know how your fingers were feeling..I will restart them once my hair is healthier
I've been wearing locks since the 70's long past my butt, I would cut them and they always come back. It was tough because I caught shit from black people all the TIME! especially During the "Gerry Curl" DAYS. Now, all those friends Are Bald! I'm 63 And still have Hair!
I don't get why everyone is acting shock about the shed hair we lose between 100-125 strands on average and her hair was locs for 2 years which means not combed so the hairs were trapped what do yall expect... jeez. But beautiful hair love lol
I've had my locs 6 years and I'm over it. I couldn't care less about losing hair... hair grows back. I'm looking forward to becoming a loose natural again
@@Sexyladykirakira I was a loose natural from 2007-2014 and did have the patience to deal with it when my my texture changed. I decided to loc and did that from 4/2014 until 7/2020. I've learned a lot and I'm still learning more so I'm more comfortable and ready for this new journey. I can't wait for it to start growing out. I've learned about my hair porosity and what my hair needs to stay healthy and grow.
🤔It's ironic because we have trouble getting friends and family to accept our locd hair, and then strangers want to make 10's of videos about you wanting to be loose again... Im sure some people unsubbed because your locs are gone, and you probably have the opposite with some friends or damily happy that they're gone. Ijs. I click for your face and personality regardless💙
💯 real talk!! I cut my first set, aftr 5 years. I am now on my 2nd set of Locs (after 5 yrs loose & natural)... and when I am ready, I will cut this set too... I truly cannot see myself combing mine out lol. ❤
I just cut my locs off and GIRL! I whipped my head around and it damn near flew off my head cuz it was so light! My scalp itching stopped after I cut them off too. My first proper wash on my hair was orgasmic I wish I could have been washing it forever! My mom usually washes my hair, but there was so much buildup in my hair it was so great to get it all out. Felt like heaven 😣 I don’t think I’ll ever get dreadlocks any time soon, I really needed this change! 💕
You can wash your hair when its locked. And ACV and baking soda washes clean all the build up. Some people put products on their locs and really this is not good at all because of buildup. If a person has scalp issues then maybe something on the scalp (tea tree oil) but ACV and baking soda will do great.
I just wanted to let you know that I’m proud of you for standing in your truth and doing what is right for YOU! I saw your video where you explained why you combed out your locs and I was like “Yes girl!!” Looking forward to seeing the rest of your journey 😃
You lost a lot of hair, but what's left is still substantially beautiful. I don't know if when I'm ready to get rid of my locs if I will cut them or comb them out. Thanks for sharing. Stay blessed Queen!!!
She’s back! Yasss!!! The irony! I’m currently combing my Locs out watching this (day3) Sistah nirvana i love the process how beautiful your hair is loc’d and loose. Thank you for showing us your journey and the loc care tips. Now we get to see another journey! Keep Going Girl!!! Wooo🎉
Since I've been locd I have been watching almost all your loc videos and I must say I am SO happy you made this video girl! I know u probably getting some negative feedback but just know this video helped someone. After a year of being locd it's just not what I expected for me. Mine are thinning around the edges as well. I've been torn between trying to tuff it out, cut it , and comb it out. So THANK YOU! I hope i can keep as much hair as you did. Beautiful. Staying tuned for more vids Queen ❤
I started my journey a week ago and I'm almost done with them😊 and I can't wait to see what my hair does afterwards by just taking care of it and thank you for your videos they really have helped get through this process and your hair looks amazing😊❤✌🏼
Welcome back Natural Nirvana! What a gorgeous head of hair you have - loc'd or loose natural! Really looking forward to seeing how your new journey unfolds! Remain blessed xxx

I am literally combing out my locs after 5 years. I got them when I was 9 because i always liked to copy my mom( sje has locs) but now that im 14, turning 15 I'm finding my own style and I want my hair loose natural tho. My mom supports me so thats nice. I thought that I was going to loose more hair than I already have. But I am really just loosing volume which is fine because I have very dense hair so it wont look weird anyways
If you decide to have locs again I think you should go thicker to prevent the thinning and pain you mentioned, I think you would look nice with 30-40 really thick locs
@@DailydoseofPharaoh The parts were really tiny in some spots. That's why there was so much tension on her scalp. Girls with thick hair should try and avoid smaller locs. They're just to heavy for those small sections. Whoever started them for her didn't know about the loc-to-part ratio.
That was unbelievable! 😮 all that shedded hair in the bag....🤔 you did a great job girlie! I don’t think I would have had the Patience. Well done was interesting watching the process. Wow your hair is so long!! I am currently combing out my locs of 3 1/2 years and I'm so happy I retained so much length! during the past month and a half (due to quarantine) I've taken down 142 of em so far, I have 10 more to go!
Aww what a beautiful baby... your hair is still beautiful. I guess we never realize how much hair we really shed daily and with locs the shed hair is trapped in the loc! Thanks for sharing
I'm over a yr loc'd and I completely understand with the sore roots. I had thin locs all around the nape of my neck, I decided to combined them and now it causes no pain.
THANK YOU SO MUCH I want to take mine out ( not anytime soon) and I was kinda scared my hair is going to be very thin, this gave me a lot of hope. It makes me more ready then ever to take my locs out!
Thanks for sharing I'm experiencing tenderness in my scalp also so I'm taking my love out also, this is my third set that Ive had so three strikes I'm out for good with locs.( beautiful family)
I just finished taking out my locs last Wednesday and it took me three months because of what I used to take them out and because I wanted to keep the length I had from my locs. I've seen a lot of use water and conditioner and that's what caused a lot of their hair to come out and be really short.
Adeyemi Beatrice I used a thumb tac and a comb. I picked at the ends to open them up then started using scissors to make it easier and continued to pick each loc and used the comb when it was needed to get some the shed hair out the way. after I was done with one loc, I would twist it up. I did this in sections until the twist would be a medium size. I didn't use water and conditioner. I did it get because I wanted to keep the length I had after unlocking my hair
I'm really happy that you did this video. I am 10 months in but I've decided to comb them out so thanks for this video. My reason for this is I dont like the idea of product build up which I can already see and only time I like my starter locs are when they are styled otherwise I hate them. I need a change from this. This is how I'm feeling right now. Thanks girl and continue doing you x
I have one single dreadlock I've had for 2 years I love it but wish the rest of my curly hair would grow as long as my lock did...I want to lock my whole head now then comb them out so I'll have the length I've been wanting
I plucked mine in April and was done May 1st. I still don't know what to do with my bag of shed hair. It was a bit of a learning curve to actually care for my loose natural hair after 11 years. Good luck to you sis!! ♡
Wow! That's a lot of hair lost. But you have very beautiful hair, and you did a great job taking the dreadlocks out. Good luck on your journey with your hair.
What all did you use to apply to the locs as you were combing them out? Just conditioner and water? And if it was just conditioner and water could you tell me which conditioner did you use? And did you wash your locs before combing them out?
Wow girl, you have really got good hair, despite all that hair loss!!!! That's just dead hair!!! That wanted to come out!!!! I'm very glad that your hair is that long!!!! Blessings!!!
wow that's a big job. But you still have a lot of hair. I wondered what it's like to do that. Thanks for sharing. I think if or when I get tired of mines I'll freeform for awhile and then just cut it. I wouldnt have as much energy get taking mines down because I'm not as young. Probably save my shedded hair for extensions in case I wanna wear them again one day.
Do you think the thinning of your locs had to do with postpartum shedding? Most women lose some hair after pregnancy or after they slow or stop nursing.
I know this is one year old video, but did you use to comb your locs out. I already know metal rat tail comb and water, but what conditioner did you use?

Peace to everyone 🔹
Thank you for this video!!!!! I'm going to comb out my locs after 7 yrs. My hair is soo heavy and yes thinning from the weight as well. I haven't palm rolled the mature portion of my locs in at least 6 yrs and they keep condensing in circumference. I rarely do styles in my hair. I'm sure at this point I have a lot less hair its just all caught up in the loc. They look great but I know that its a lot thinner. I'm so scared to see how much length I will lose. You give me hope. I have never dealt with my loose hair at a longer length and I'm so anxious. I don't know what moisturizing routing to implement once all this gets loose ahhhhhhh
Kelilah** ThePoet Oh no! I’m so sorry that you cut your thumb. You have to be very careful, because you can accidentally stab your finger if you are going too fast. What helped me was combing them out in a downward direction (avoiding making contact with my fingers).
Thanks for sharing this with us. I just celebrated 1 year locked. However, it’s good to know if I decide to remove them at some point that I don’t necessarily have to cut them off. P.S. your hair looks beautiful in either state. 😍
Do you have to cut your hair after you comb your locks out? Cause I have dread and my sister said that you have to cut your hair cause the locked hair is dead hair and I know we shed hard so I don’t wanna cut it but do I have to?

Omg I’m sure your hands were tired. Congratulations on completing it.
What are you using to put on your hair as you are combing.
Conditioner. I used Aussie Moist:)
how are you retaining so much leeength?
Hi Angel, where the combined locs easy to take out?
What products were used? Thank you
What did you do about thin spots? I have locs in the front that are thin at the root and I’m scared about them when I go to comb them out
😱 so much shed hair. How did u avoid d buildup?
Girl struggle is real. Good job. U HAVE BEAUTIFUL HAIR I DON'T KNOW WHY U HAD LOCS. PEACE🚵
I am in the process of removing my locs I had to stop when the rat tail comb part cut my thumb Idk what to do right now.....
Kelilah** ThePoet Oh no! I’m so sorry that you cut your thumb. You have to be very careful, because you can accidentally stab your finger if you are going too fast. What helped me was combing them out in a downward direction (avoiding making contact with my fingers).
I am combing out my locs after almost 2yrs because just wasn't happy with progress❤
Thanks for sharing this with us. I just celebrated 1 year locked. However, it’s good to know if I decide to remove them at some point that I don’t necessarily have to cut them off. P.S. your hair looks beautiful in either state. 😍
Thank you! Congratulations on one year!😊
Do you have to cut your hair after you comb your locks out? Cause I have dread and my sister said that you have to cut your hair cause the locked hair is dead hair and I know we shed hard so I don’t wanna cut it but do I have to?
My locs did the same thing around the nape and hairline was thin but everywhere else was thick
What product would you recommend to use to start locs? I loved your locs (and loose natural) and value your opinion.
