@@shereshamarks4517 isn't it exciting. I'm definitely going through the ugly awkward phase right now. Learning do's and don'ts as well 😩❤ How is your loc journey going?
Thick locs, means healthy hair. I hate when other people tell me to clean up my hair. I promote the Afro for more support, leaving less stress on my scalp. I stopped using products, I just wash my hair with coconut oil and use Indian hemp, sometimes. Peace, power!
Hi there 😊. Can you please explain how you wash your hair with coconut oil? I use it to moisturize my scalp, but I didn't realize you can wash your hair with it.
I am almost 3 months in and everything you said in this video I have been doing. I love the unkempt look, the frizz, the thickness my hair gives without retwisting. I never wanted “neat” locs I’m embracing what my hair does naturally. I guess you can say I’m semi freeform. But I absolutely loooooove it! There’s no “ugly stage” for me it’s all beautiful 💜✨
Loved the water spraying tip for moisture. I thought that I was the only one who didn't like wearing my dreads styled, lol. Been locked for 27 years and have worn them just straight down, ALWAYS. They had reached past my waist, but at some point and I realized that the weight was thinning my roots and it didn't help that thinning hair as you age runs in my mom's side of the family, so now I keep them cut and just brushing my shoulders. Thanks!

Stoney Hendrixx absolutely correct 🙌🏽 I was thinking about cutting my locs but my daughter hates the idea. She loves my hair more than I do lol... I love my locs but am tired of retwisting. So now looking at this video has changed my mind. That’s all I needed ❤️
Me too✋I started Mar.20, so like 6 weeks. I have retwisted 1x so far, now I know not to palm roll all the way down. I want thick locs. Good luck on your journey.

Glad I found this channel. My son has locs as thick as yours, and I wanted them to be tighter, but I learned to embrace the thickness. I retwist his new growth only and embrace the frizz .

You're locs are beautiful sis! I started on my loc journey in May of this year and I'm loving the journey! Trying to get my front to stay but for the most part so far so good. I was using Eco gel at first. I did my own retwist today and used the Murray Loc Lock gel. Thanks for your advice!!
This was great information. I am on my 8th month. The thick locs is the look I'm looking for and everything that you shared is going to help a lot. Thx.....
Great tips! Thank you very much. I was retwisting my loc every 5 wks but after these tips I will embrace my freeze and retwist every 3 months. I love your locs 😊 want to have thicker locs.
You are right. I definitely don't palm roll at at all. I just twist the roots. My locs are frizzy a lot and I don't mind it at all because it's different. Also I hardly use products. For twisting the roots I use black castor oil. I just like it natural and product free. Good thing is my hair is very thick and I definitely don't want thin locs. Continue doing what you are doing. Your locs are beautiful
RįŔį RįŔį I use to use the white loc twist gel that has the purple cover but I told myself before it was finished I would stop using it. I am not a gel person because I don't like to use it. Gel ruins hair to me. After it was finished the same oil I use to oil my hair while it is wet I retwist the roots. You should try it. If your starting your locs, gel is a good way to keep your locs intact for like about the first six months depending on your hair type. Make sure you use good gel. As you always hear people say never ever put too much products in your locs. I never did but as I seen videos of people's locs, I felt bad for them. You learn from experience.
Thank you for the tips. I'm two weeks in my locs journey, and these amazing tips will definitely help me on my journey. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge on locs. You're the best. Please continue bringing these great tips for us. Take care.💕🙌🏿💕

Your locs are the truth! Thank you for the information. It was extremely helpful because I'm about to get ready to start my locs. Keep the videos coming!
You made some good points.. Especially about using natural or less products on the locs. I've had locs for 16 years now. I am 5.2 and my hair is over 4 feet long. And I manage my locs myself. I never like the freeze bc I like for my hair to look very neat. So yes I did the wrap around/ coil the remaining strands and it does create some bumps on some strands. But eventually I think that I'll trim for remanagement and much thicker locs.
I love this video! I was getting discouraged because my locs are various sizes but I would love them to be as thick and beautiful as yours. I've watched quite a few videos but this has become my favorite. Thank you.
This was really good information I have been twisting my hair every 3 days I started my journey in September hopefully the minor damage I have done is repairable I do not go to stops
I absolutely loved this video an all of your other videos, I'm on my second set of dreads did them myself as I've bin working whit dreads since 2015 an actually allot of what you've said is also what I've bin telling my clients.... especially about embracing the frizz am not to use products that create buildup an not to twist them to much...this video was very helpful
It's really amazing to me how similar our journey's are. I started in December of 2015, I used to spray my locs with water every day though ever since I started this rinse I don't have to do it as often. I semi-form and have thought about just never getting a retwist again. Oh I'm a vegetarian too! My spirit is guiding me towards veganism though. We're loc twins Angel. I'm just saying 😌
Love your videos and your hair! I do get retwists every 2-3 weeks, and mine are still very similar to your (style/thickness). But then (like you mentioned), he only twists the roots and barely touch the bottoms. I really think it depends on your hair and your stylist. I know some people don't like retwisting regularly. But for my first year it's worked out well and hair is growing like a weed. I'll be moving to 3 week intervals once I move out of this job search phase.
Shana Middleton yeah! You should 😊 I love the thick locs. I have 102 and if I would've known some of the info she was giving in this video when I first started, like palm rolling the length of the hair, I think mines might be a little fuller looking.
Olivia P I have a few videos on my channel you can see the size of my locs. I'm only 9 months in but I want them to stay thick. At first I thought I wanted the tight neat look!! Not anymore!!

I have tried Vegan cheese and I haven't found any that taste good yet. When I find that, I'm good. I'd go all Vegan.
Your hair is so beautiful n full, I have a spray bottle with 💦 water, acv, n black Jamaican castor oil .I wash condition n retwist all n the shower 🚿 I spray my hair down n get I poppin...
Your gorgeous! And your hair is the looks I am going for . I started with larger parts thinking I’d get thicker locs . My hair is also light weight , I’ve got 42 locs started with shoulder length loose curl pattern . I’m just 4 months in . This clip is great I like the info about retwist . My loctition did a retwist it wasn’t tight which was good but the bobby pubs flattened my locs end my locs went from full to thin . They are thicker now. Glad people post their true experience and willing to share
Thank you and congrats on your loc journey and reaching 4 months!😊 Spritzing them with water and not retwisting the shaft should thicken them right back up:)
I just started my locs a month ago and I have no desire to retest often nor use products. Your hair is beautiful and you are very inspiring. I want my locs thick like yours. Thank you for this video!! And your channel!!!
Your locs are beautiful 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾I love❤️ thick locs good tips thank you for sharing sis. 👍🏾My locs are becoming thicker since I stopped retwisting as often I'm embracing my roots! 😉❤️🙏🏾
Just Gean Bean! Hey love! I would encourage you to do a deep cleanse on your locs now while they are still in the baby stage to remove that buildup. Glad you are catching it now 😊
If you wash your hair thoroughly (using a clarifying shampoo)you’ll be able to minimize buildup.. Putting product on the shaft of your lacks is where you’ll run into trouble with build up…
Love your videos. I'll be starting my loc journey on Sept 16. Your locs are beautiful and this is exactly the body of locs I'd like to achieve. Be blessed!
Thank you for the tips. There a several I am going to apply like not wrapping/combining my frizz back into the body of the Locs and styling. The longer my hair gets the more comfortable I feel with letting it hang.
Hey Sistah Monique, welcome to da family of kings & Queens Locked’ up! Plz, be patient! Do not, I repeat do not compare your Locs to anyone else’s. Your crown will be Your own! Enjoy da journey! 😊
Hello! New subscriber in the process of growing my hair so I can loc it and I'm enjoying watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your loc journey and tips!🙏🏾
product free is the way forward! my hair is also very light. only 7 months in but I haven't been tempted to use products apart from a light oil on my scalp once a week. I water rinse a couple of times a week and shampoo and deep cleanse with bentonite clay once every couple of months. I always wear a silk scarf to bed ...hopefully I'm heading in the right direction to have healthy hair. no styling just separated 😊 Thank you for the info it's reassuring 😊
I love your hair. I'm a Sisterlock wearer and even though mine are super cultivated, I am happiest when it's time for a retightening because I enjoy fullness. Even still there are days when I would love to have your size locks.
Good Morning, Thank you for the tips on how to keep your locs thick. While I only re-twist every other month, I have a tendency to pull my locs back or up using an cloth covered elastic band. I have noticed they are thinning a bit so your video was very helpful. Your locs look healthy and lovely. Thanks Again - Peace & Blessings
Thanks for your advice! I feel you on the cheese! I don't eat meat either but cheese is my vice!!!! I've been locked for four days now and I can't wait to be fully locked! New subbie !

The details and advice you're offering are very accurate and precise. Thanks for the advice.
So glad it was helpful!😊
Thank you for your tips! Began mine in August 2016 and all those tips speak to me!! :) greatly appreciated!

Great advice I'm deff going to start retesting with the distilled water and oil ... I'm starting to notice buildup and I'm only in month two
Just Gean Bean! Hey love! I would encourage you to do a deep cleanse on your locs now while they are still in the baby stage to remove that buildup. Glad you are catching it now 😊
Natural Nirvana ok cool Thank you so much !!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I wish I would of started my locs with comb coils instead of 2 stand twist, but I still embrace my locs... great advice for getting thicker locs.
You're inspiring me to start locs one day. Stay beautiful 😍👸
Alexis Ellison Aww, thank you beautiful 💕🤗 God bless you
If you wash your hair thoroughly (using a clarifying shampoo)you’ll be able to minimize buildup.. Putting product on the shaft of your lacks is where you’ll run into trouble with build up…
Yessss I’m so glad I came to your video! I’m learning so much💕💕 I currently just started my second set of locs🌱 and I want to semi freeform.
Also guys! Research on the consequences of air drying locs vs blow drying them

Thank you for the tips. There a several I am going to apply like not wrapping/combining my frizz back into the body of the Locs and styling. The longer my hair gets the more comfortable I feel with letting it hang.

Vanessa Braxton Thank you gorgeous! So glad it was helpful 😊. God bless you too!✨
product free is the way forward! my hair is also very light. only 7 months in but I haven't been tempted to use products apart from a light oil on my scalp once a week. I water rinse a couple of times a week and shampoo and deep cleanse with bentonite clay once every couple of months. I always wear a silk scarf to bed
...hopefully I'm heading in the right direction to have healthy hair. no styling just separated 😊
Thank you for the info it's reassuring 😊
Donna Reid Sounds like you are doing a great job! Keep up the great work!😊
I love your hair. I'm a Sisterlock wearer and even though mine are super cultivated, I am happiest when it's time for a retightening because I enjoy fullness. Even still there are days when I would love to have your size locks.
You and your locs are gorgeous! Def will follow these tips! Love it!
Thank you so much for this amazing video!! .. Your hair looks absolutely gorgeous!!
So glad it was helpful! Thank you!😊
Thanks for your advice! I feel you on the cheese! I don't eat meat either but cheese is my vice!!!! I've been locked for four days now and I can't wait to be fully locked! New subbie !
