Despite its share of gameplay stumbles, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a welcome new action-strategy title from Capcom full of an identity all its own that I hope to see more of in the developer's future. The addictive stage and combat design are well-crafted, with player choice at the core of success. Plus, the gorgeous visuals and soundtrack shine with memorable distinction. Even if you find yourself packed with newer releases this year, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is still worth consideration since its relatively brief time still leaves a discernable impact.

A cool note on this one is that almost everything in the game is handmade. The clothes and masks were crafted and scanned in and all of the environments are made from scanning miniatures made by the art team.

Games like these give me hope for the industry again. I loved the 2000 era of games that were made to be nieche and fun. Now every game has to be overmonetized open world with 1000 tutorials made for "modern audience"
I really wish triple A companies start investing in these smaller/experimental projects that may not be for everyone, but sure as hell has it's audience... They don't have to quit developing quadruple A games like Skull and Bones, but adding these to their portfolio would be sure nice

Yeah, Maximillian Dood does a way better job explaining. Even the reply saying "TD" assumes you know that he means tower defense. Even then many people aren't familiar with the genre aside from maybe some rinky dink phone game to pass time waiting in line at the DMV, or maybe a flash based browser game back when the website Newgrounds was popular.

The gameplay kinda reminds me of Jade Empire. Can't wait to play it
I am really torn on this. Ironically this week has some big releases, after a quiet spell last week, where I have purchased Darkest Dungeon 2 and Bo for Playstation so have loads to play.
I want to support the dev and purchase this, to hope they make more like this, but £40 feels on the too expensive side for me for a digital only product.
Feel it will end up on PS Plus, or be on sale within a few weeks.
How long does it take to complete and is there much incentive to go back and do missions once completed?
Each stage has collectibles that you might miss on a first run while you're getting used to the environment. Theres also 3 option mission in each stage that give you important resources (Charms, upgrade resources ect). I've also heard that NG+ adds a bunch of new rewards and challenges.
Haven't been able to confirm yet but I've read the campaign is about 20ish hours long minus side objectives, which is honestly way longer than I was expecting

This game, Dungeons of Hinterberg, and Flintlock are all on gamepass. Holy shit this is legendary. This game will be a cult classic, its so freaking dope.

Several times you mentioned the game is short, what would you estimate the length to be?
30-40 hours or less is considered short
@@BleedForTheWorld 30 - 40 hrs would still probably be considered long for non-roleplaying games especially considering Call of Duty singleplayer campaigns can be done in less than 10 hours or action-adventure games like DMC 5, Deathloop, Hi-Fi Rush, Control, and Alan Wake 2 just to name a few recent ones can be completed within the 15-to-20-hour mark.

@@GilgaMax305 It's not about spending money. You used to pre-order to make sure game stores reserved you a copy. Digital games are unlimited, so it defeats the entire purpose unless they give you extras or somesuch.

saw this it was interesting enough the demo was also fun and artistic hats off to CAPCOM for ignoring fans and getting creative hopefully now that we are seeing remasters for dead rising hopefully Lost Planet Mega Man Legends and Dino Crisis is next although we need them to fix Street Fighter x Tekken on STEAM before all of that stuff

It's a shame it drops the same week as Darkest Dungeon 2, so I'm probably not going to be buying it this week. But ill keep it on my wishlist and maybe pick it up in August or September.

I need a game with at-least a little narrative and characters to go along with the gameplay. To keep me engaged.
Or this it becomes an a ok let me play a few short rounds and then put it down to never look back. Unless the gameplay is great and a lot to do. But this just looks and sounds very repetitive with maybe a hour worth of fun then it’s just repeat over and over.
So as much as I want to support a game doing something different this is a pass for me.

I’d imagine that a new Dino Crisis or Onimusha would’ve generated 10x as much hype.
