but Iceborne Fatalis apparently is not a good choice, it has many moveset design flaws that makes it not a good fight compared to other monsters throughout the series.
I think it’s perfect. It’s meant to catch you off guard, deal extreme damage, and put FEAR into your very soul while fighting it. As the intro to Iceborne Fatalis said, you are fighting HISTORY, you should fear EXACTLY what you’re up against. It’s the perfect Spectacle AND hunt alike. Considering how SIMPLE the design it too, it just perfects the entire title of “god of all monsters”. Making monsters like Lao Shan Lung and ALATREON flee just makes it the perfect godboss in any game
I loved seeing fatalis get the credit he deserved. For that first win it took me 2 weeks of attempts. But when he finally fell, I still remember literally leaping up in euphoria. He is immaculate in design, arena, camera, spectacle, moveset, soudtrack and just sheer fun. The pacing of the fight, the sheer power of his attacks it really makes you feel like you said, that you are the last person standing between a god of destruction and the rest of the world. He is a crowning accomplishment in my humble opinion.
Fatalis is cool because he’s literally just a normal dragon in a normal castle, meaning all those specially designed cool looking elder dragons and monsters aren’t shit when compared to something classic.
Nope, it's a lazy design. A final boss should obviously look more badass and creative than the previous bosses. Being generic is underwhelming, there is nothing cool about being generic. The whole point of dragons is to be a frightening fantastical monstrosity, it's hardly fantastical if it's exactly like ones you've already seen again and again in thousands of fantasy games.
@@Vaquix000you’re welcome to your own opinion but I think you might have missed the point in Fatalis. Yes it’s a Generic dragon, that’s the point. it’s a dragon that can melt thick, metal doors within seconds with fire hotter than the surface of the sun. It’s hatred for humanity so great it mocks us by melting its victims to its skin in a way not to dissimilar to what hunters do to their hunts. But yes, in the end of the day it’s just a generic dragon, but that he needs to be, a pure and simple but difficult fight as an ultimate test of skill.
Calling something done so intentionally lazy already disregards your argument completely. Every MH game has those epic fantastical elements in spades for every creature + a particularly epic rival monster that you fight at start and end + a secret monster that's the cause of everything and looks the most imposing/fantastical. Fatalis by proxy is supposed to be the embodyment of the classical literal dragon, which just like in real life in MH is a being of pure fantasy. It breaths the hottest fire, its scales the hardest material, and its itellegence enough to explicitly show emotion and intent. It's the epitomy of the title of a real dragon and that "simplicity" in design outright is what makes it stand out. Every other wyvern or creature in MH is made to feel like a natural creature thats special abilities and defenses are gifted by their environment, even other elder dragons. Fatalis is a creature that doesn't belong anywhere and is simply made to built to be the perfect weapon against humanity.
what i love about rhulk is that the entire time during his boss battle, hes just fucking around and not taking it seriously until the very final stand where he goes "oop they can actually kill me" and starts suffocating the light out of every guardian like he couldnt do it before. Also love the fact that he uses the corpse of Xita, the literal mother of the worm gods (bascially a group of the most powerful individuals in the known universe of destiny), as a glorified cup holder for the Upended
I am glad to see Raven Beak here, he is probably my favourite overall boss fight I have done (as much as I love Souls and Monster Hunter). Something I judge boss fights on is how well they teach the player how to accomplish them. Raven Beak took me a lot of tries, but once I had beaten a phase, I never lost to that phase again. I always did equal or better than my last attempt, which I put down to excellent game design.
Anyone including Red on a best bosses of all time list automatically gets my respect. The fact that my mans had a top 3 of Radiance, Ludwig and Fatalis? You earned a lifetime viewer my guy. I played all three of Bloodborne, Hollow Knight and Monster Hunter world for the first time in the last 2-3 years and all three catapulted themselves into my top 10 favourite games ever. Good shit
Absolutely loved that you included raven beak in here. Don’t see too many people talk about Metroid dread let alone the final boss fight but it’s one of my absolute favorites and I always think about it when discussing challenging or satisfying fights
Ive been looking through the top comments and i see no mention of Furi, which is sad due to how much of a banger it is!😅 But i just want to represent the Furi fanbase by saying that The Edge is a very very good bossfight that teaches you of the fact that any (human) enemy you face in any parrying games are only as strong as yourself. In the sense that the edge has only 4 stocks (compareed to much more stocks on other bosses) and you have 3; you both have a similar amount of health per stock; and your weapon is only as versatile as the patience of your mind (the hesitation of attacking from the fear of being parried which is emphasised in the fight from both you and the Edge). And it teaches you to keep getting back up. "Excellence is a habit"👍
I love your list, but I would but Sans of undertale even as a honorable mention, but I undestand that It's a short list to all the games in the world and even whitout Sans, I absoluty love your list❤❤❤
@@aurelieneichelberger8025this is true man, Vergil also has everything in the criteria. The story, the BUILD UP, the fight itself, the difficulty, AND THE MUSIC.
Yes monster hunter fatalis was the first real boss I needed to beat and when me and my team kept learning his pattern every time we died and when he finally killed him, I never yelled that loud in victory in my life. My monster hunter my favourite series of all time.
Fatalis’s difficulty also is amplified by the endurance test that it can be, the fight takes consistently over 10 minutes and typically at least 20, all to just lose and restart. If there wasn’t item restocks it genuinely would be one of the hardest bosses of all time. Also Proof of a Hero goes unbelievable hard entering the final stretch of the fight 🔥
Nice list, bro! One recent game that I played has an amazing boss fight... it's Eigong from nine sols. It checks almost all the criteria that you mentioned in the beginning. You should check nine sols, maybe it will change your list a little bit!
100% with you on Fatalis! Been gaming since the NES era and that boss fight is the best I have ever fought! When that 'Proof Of A Hero OST' Comes on! LFG!!!
Bro seeing fatalis in slot one was the most epic respect. To me it probably the most epic and hardest boss I've ever faced in any game. From soft makes some nasty stuff but there's almost always some build or tech that cab trivialize the fight or make it ez. Fatalis was built different.
I would consider my self a souls fanboy so do u advise me to play monter hunter and if so then is it fun with the boys as fromsoft games aren't really made for co up@@thegoodeboy2016
Well that’s not really true, I beat Fatalis with 4 pieces of his gear from plunderblade and his weapon fully augmented and made a semi meta set, I beat him right after I made that set after having tried like 20 times before I made the set so I feel like the part where you say other games have sets or builds that trivialize the fights and make them easy also kinda applies to monster hunter
I just love the Fatalis fight. The nostalgia that kicks in near the end of the fight when the old Monster Hunter theme drops was insane for me. Finally being able to beat that monster I wasn’t capable of defeating as a child was incredibly satisfying. Definitely Number 1 for me
Also things to add on the fatalis boss fight they literally made the bossfight lore accurate it's like you're really fighting the legend itself thats what made it so special it lived up to the lore it was based upon never seen any game captured the lore perfectly like they did to fatalis it couldn't get any better than that
Great list, nice to see Furi - especially The Edge - getting a shout-out! Here is my list following the same criteria: 1. Nightmare King Grimm - Hollow Knight 2. Nameless King - Dark Souls 3 (I just loved the lore of Gwyn's banished son since DS1) 3. Extreme Measures [Redacted] - Hades 4. Ludwig, the Accursed - Bloodborne 5. The Edge - Furi 6. The Grey Crow - Death's Door 7. Chef Saltbaker - Cuphead 8. The Snatcher - A Hat in Time 9. Eos, God of Unity - Eldest Souls 10. M.A.C.E. - Intrusion 2
I love how you pointed the fact that the monsters in monster have a role in the their world. I always loved that there is a reson of why that monster exist or why that monster can use certain elements, (an example is of a rathalos shooting fireballs which are just balls of mucus ignited by a flame sack). Then there's the Fatalis, it dosen't make sense, he's an exepction in the rules(Just like the other black dragons and other elden dragons). God i love this game. (Also sorry for any errors, english is not my first language.)
It’s always tough making a list like this (especially drawing from literally all video games out there), but you picked some absolute bangers here!! And some I never heard of before that I need to check out now! 👏🏼
One of my favourite bosses of all time is Lord Shimura from Ghost of Tsushima. The story behind it was perfect, the arena at your childhood sparring circle in the sunset was beautiful, music was amazing and the choice that you get at the end was the most tense moment in the whole game. Wasn't too flashy but just one of my personal all time favourites.
Holy shit dude I have never agreed more with a top ten list on RUclips in a LONG time, Fatalis being number 1 genuinely got me tweaking as that was one of my greatest gaming achievements (at least before they made the time limit 30 minutes lol) good work bro
I was so scared that there wouldn’t be a monster hunter entry here and then I saw Fatalis and knew this guy was objectively right. Fatalis is freaking wonderful, especially to solo
Loved seeing representation from pokemon and ff16. Ludwig would make the top spot on most lists, but thank goodness you've played monster hunter world. Fatalis is undoubtedly the best boss of all time and the music change after the dragonator may be one of the best feeling moments in gaming history.
RUclips Algorithm W.. what a great list. Particularly love the Furi call out, one of my all time favorite games, absolute shame how unknown it still is. I would have found a way to sneak Gael on here, but other than that I can’t complain :) well done! Edit - I also love the fact you included a D2 boss, they’re almost always overlooked on lists like this. Rhulk was great, if you ever return to the game the Witness is a great final boss as well
What a refreshing take on a top 10 boss list! There are some expected ones, but some you've never heard of. That makes for a very personalized and very unique list. Well done!
Fatalis is a harder and better boss than anything in souls games but from soft fan boys are too scared to play monster hunter. (I also love souls games but mhw is peak)
@@thegoodeboy2016 Hmm While I personaly agree Its matter of taste. Fights like Ludwik Geal are verry uniqe. And Midir/ Bayle are comparable to MH in my opinion.
As somebody who has only played Sekiro from this list: really cool list!! You do such a great job of highlighting what makes the fights good and I loved the diversity
I'm really glad to see Raven Beak on this list (my favourite boss in my favourite series of all time). Normally when I watch these sorts of videos I find that Metroid gets overlooked because it's a smaller series when compared to a lot of other games, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't deserve to be there. Yes, I've got some personal bias, but Raven Beak truly is an epic fight. He puts EVERYTHING you've learned in the game to the test, is super tough the first time through, and has the lore to match, making him a truly awesome final boss. (Honourable mention to Experiment Z-57 as well 😅)
hell yeah, Raven Beak Almost 3 years later and this boss is still just so damn cool. The buildup is enormous and then the fight itself is this energetic and imposing slugfest.
Eve from nier automata has gotta be my favorite boss of all time. The setting, the gameplay, the music. It's all there. The design is really cool too with the robots and how he slowly takes away your systems until all you can do is shoot.
One of my favorite things about Ludwig is... the choice. I fought Ludwig absolutely hooked on Bloodborne's lore and world, and just happened to be wearing the black church set while fighting him, it was absolutely heartbreaking to make a choice between telling his nearly dead, beastly form the bitter truth, or giving him a sweet lie in his final moments, I ended up not doing anything out of woe, and came back to see that Simon had put Ludwig out of his misery. On my next playthrough I made sure to tell Ludwig the lie, and let him die believing his church hunters were the honorable Spartans he had hoped they'd be. Also my list is as follows: 10. Al Mualim 9. Kessler 8. Hoyt 7. Messmer 6. Radagon 5. Logarius 4. totk Ganon 3. Gwyn 2.Senator Armstrong 1. Ludwig
YES, today I sleep weel because fatalis is top 1 my friends. He's design is unique, he's music make me ascend to godhood, the damage that burns my eyes even with toughest armors, the sounds of the flames, Schrade being the best arena on Iceborne, and Proof of a Hero in the end after the dragonator. Perfection.
For all of these(except like 3 that I completely understood), I was like “eh I wouldn’t really put it but I actually completely see why it’d be there” so considering I barely play these types of games and I still understand why these bosses are here shows how good your list is overall
W for Genichiro inclusion. The one boss I still go back to fight at least once a month no matter what game I’m maining at the time. A truly satisfying fight
Monster Hunter and Hollow Knight and Pokemon all making this list confirmed im going to enjoy this channel very much. Well thought out and very entertaining video. Loved this. :)
I think jetstream Sam should be on here because his fight is way diffrent from any other in the game just 2 men with sword in a desert with a sunset no BS.
Slave knight gael not being on this list is a huge crime. He can be considered one of the best bosses in every way. İf you are looking for a nice cinematic fight,he has a cutscene that he literarely says the name of the whole game trilogy,if you are looking for a balanced but challenging fight he has it too.He has some of the hardest hitting moves but you can dodge them all once you master it,also he doesnt have some shitty camera angle problems and gives you many attack windows, while still having a lot of hp to make it a fair duel that lasts long enough to make you experience the fight to its fullest, but it doesnt end there, the fight pulls you in just with its vibe.İ mean when you enter his arena you know that you are not facing a godlike foe,you are facing a human that overcame every obstacle that he faced to achieve his goal.He is equal to you both in power and determination, even his arena tells a lot about him,you are in the end of the world and you can see the places that you passed the kingdom that you destroyed in the background and dont even get me started on the feeling that you get when defeat the boss for the first time.Truly a great end to a great game series Sorry for bad english
YES, FINALLY SOMEONE PUTTING FATALIS ON A LIST. Harder than any FromSoft boss I´ve ever fought. Once you learn him, you become the god of the game, it feels like previus challenging monsters are on slow motion.
So glad Genichiro is in here. The two hours i spent on Geni gave me all the experience i needed to plow through the rest of the game, while Inner Father is my overall favorite boss in Sekiro (in all of Fromsofts catalogue for that matter), i still have to appreciate him for giving me all of that experience.
I understand it's a personal opinion, but if that's so I will share my own too. Malekith is the best boss any FromSoft game and it's not even close. His only issue is a low health bar which makes him way too easy to kill than it's supposed to be. But the Arena, design, fighting combos, aesthetics, it's just top of the top.
I adore his design and the fight is very well done but I’d strongly disagree. He’s missing something significant that most of Elden Ring does, truly impactful story and context. Where Dark Souls has issues with being a bit disjointed and underdeveloped in its story, Elden ring does the complete opposite with there being way too much going on for any one boss to actually feel important. It’s lore didn’t hit nearly as hard as some of their other titles. It’s overwhelming and too crammed. With the criteria being used here I don’t think I’d put a single Elden Ring boss in a Fromsoft top 10.
But again, the experience of significance in a game is deeply personal, so that’s just my opinion and very subjective. I’m glad he was a very impactful fight and experience for you :)
Command Gaius isn't that bad of a fight. The only thing that's really bad about the fight is his bull charge, which is a horrible, designed attack. If you try and stay close to him, there is a much lower chance he will do the bull charge, making the fight much more fun.

Finally someone said Fatalis is the best FINAL BOSS FIGHT🗣🔥🔥
Hollow knight’s grim troupe bossfight was actually amazing, it’s so hard but when you finally get a feel for it it’s so cool
hollow knight peak
MONSTER HUNTER MENTIONED 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥 LIST IS VALID ASF
FR ON GOG(mazios)
but Iceborne Fatalis apparently is not a good choice, it has many moveset design flaws that makes it not a good fight compared to other monsters throughout the series.
Fighting him has and will continue to be the best gaming experience ever
10:58 as soon as I saw Wolf I knew who it was absolute, amazing boss fights and amazing how well you made this video.
what i love about rhulk is that the entire time during his boss battle, hes just fucking around and not taking it seriously until the very final stand where he goes "oop they can actually kill me" and starts suffocating the light out of every guardian like he couldnt do it before.
I totally agree, He is my favorite boss ever.
Ive been looking through the top comments and i see no mention of Furi, which is sad due to how much of a banger it is!😅
But i just want to represent the Furi fanbase by saying that The Edge is a very very good bossfight that teaches you of the fact that any (human) enemy you face in any parrying games are only as strong as yourself.

If fatalis isn’t on a boss list I automatically don’t care. This list is great. Fatalis is greatest boss of all time.
Fatalis isnt even the best monster hunter fight
@@KRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR which one is?

nah Isshin is. MH is ass
@@umutozer9667white fatalis
Exactly. Fatalis is a harder and more fair fight than anything in souls but souls fan boys are scared of monster hunter. (I do also love souls games)
I would consider my self a souls fanboy so do u advise me to play monter hunter and if so then is it fun with the boys as fromsoft games aren't really made for co up@@thegoodeboy2016
@@thegoodeboy2016 ah that explains why a bloodborne master speedrunner was FUCKING FILTERED BY A LOW RANK KHEZU IN RISE
@@zerozone5848 They are two completely different games. Calm down.
Definitely Number 1 for me
I can’t believe no one else mentioned proof of a hero playing
Also things to add on the fatalis boss fight they literally made the bossfight lore accurate it's like you're really fighting the legend itself thats what made it so special it lived up to the lore it was based upon never seen any game captured the lore perfectly like they did to fatalis it couldn't get any better than that
Great list, nice to see Furi - especially The Edge - getting a shout-out!
Here is my list following the same criteria:
1. Nightmare King Grimm - Hollow Knight
2. Nameless King - Dark Souls 3 (I just loved the lore of Gwyn's banished son since DS1)
3. Extreme Measures [Redacted] - Hades
4. Ludwig, the Accursed - Bloodborne
5. The Edge - Furi
6. The Grey Crow - Death's Door
7. Chef Saltbaker - Cuphead
8. The Snatcher - A Hat in Time
9. Eos, God of Unity - Eldest Souls
10. M.A.C.E. - Intrusion 2
Sephiroth on FF Rebirth is simply breath taking. I wasnt believing in my eyes during that fight. Unbelievable.
I think Remake is wayyy better, just a pure human form fight and the nostalgia. Rebirth is weird with Zack and all sh*ts going on.
the one bad thing about that boss for me was the timed death on last phase where it's just cloud and aerith
I know this isn’t as good as these but Mithrix from Risk of Rain 2 gives me life, and his music is perfect

Holy shit dude I have never agreed more with a top ten list on RUclips in a LONG time, Fatalis being number 1 genuinely got me tweaking as that was one of my greatest gaming achievements (at least before they made the time limit 30 minutes lol)
good work bro
A Hollow Knight AND Monster Hunter fan? You just earned a subscriber.
The attack at 18:03 may have single handedly convinced me to play monster hunter
I was so scared that there wouldn’t be a monster hunter entry here and then I saw Fatalis and knew this guy was objectively right. Fatalis is freaking wonderful, especially to solo
So glad to see rhulk on here. I did this raid day one and finshed day 2. That fight was crazy. Havent played destiny in forevet but was a crazy tumet
Rhulk was great, if you ever return to the game the Witness is a great final boss as well
Dropping a like just for the Furi appreciation. Good video bro, keep it up
What a refreshing take on a top 10 boss list! There are some expected ones, but some you've never heard of. That makes for a very personalized and very unique list. Well done!
As a huge zelda fan, not one form of Ganondorf being on here kinda disappointed me but I still love that you gave Fatalis credit, such a cool concept.
As a fromsoft fan no Slave Knight Gael is criminal but respect for Ludwig and Geni

(Honourable mention to Experiment Z-57 as well 😅)
hell yeah, Raven Beak
Almost 3 years later and this boss is still just so damn cool. The buildup is enormous and then the fight itself is this energetic and imposing slugfest.
I’d love to see where Bayle the Dread lies in a boss ranking
Incredible boss.
14:20 bruh, the absolute SHADE at DS2 by having it be so small compared to all the rest
Eve from nier automata has gotta be my favorite boss of all time. The setting, the gameplay, the music. It's all there. The design is really cool too with the robots and how he slowly takes away your systems until all you can do is shoot.
I was so ready to comment “ bro forgot fatalis” I was extremely pleasantly surprised.
Also my list is as follows:
10. Al Mualim
9. Kessler
8. Hoyt
7. Messmer
6. Radagon
5. Logarius
4. totk Ganon
3. Gwyn
2.Senator Armstrong
Perfection.
15:40 FATALIS LET'S GO MONSTER HUNTER FOR THE W
For all of these(except like 3 that I completely understood), I was like “eh I wouldn’t really put it but I actually completely see why it’d be there” so considering I barely play these types of games and I still understand why these bosses are here shows how good your list is overall
W for Genichiro inclusion. The one boss I still go back to fight at least once a month no matter what game I’m maining at the time. A truly satisfying fight
When I first defeated Alatreon and Fatalis solo, I Cried so hard my neighbours thought I was mourning : )
Fatalis is also my favorite boss from any game w video
Yep Fatalis is the goat here. While I do like Alatreon more, they are neck and neck. (Clears FromSoft negative diff)
@@Auvisome agreed on both points, and this is coming from someone who absolutely loves FS bosses
Huge respect for the variety of games included. Feels like more of an actual celebration for the concept of a boss in general.

Not having the RUclips bar in 2024 is crazy
Fantastic list! Love the ravenbeak shout out. Now I'm gonna go replay all of these 😂
Few weird picks but your #2 and #1 align with mine perfectly. Nice video!
I think jetstream Sam should be on here because his fight is way diffrent from any other in the game just 2 men with sword in a desert with a sunset no BS.
Slave knight gael not being on this list is a huge crime. He can be considered one of the best bosses in every way. İf you are looking for a nice cinematic fight,he has a cutscene that he literarely says the name of the whole game trilogy,if you are looking for a balanced but challenging fight he has it too.He has some of the hardest hitting moves but you can dodge them all once you master it,also he doesnt have some shitty camera angle problems and gives you many attack windows, while still having a lot of hp to make it a fair duel that lasts long enough to make you experience the fight to its fullest, but it doesnt end there, the fight pulls you in just with its vibe.İ mean when you enter his arena you know that you are not facing a godlike foe,you are facing a human that overcame every obstacle that he faced to achieve his goal.He is equal to you both in power and determination, even his arena tells a lot about him,you are in the end of the world and you can see the places that you passed the kingdom that you destroyed in the background and dont even get me started on the feeling that you get when defeat the boss for the first time.Truly a great end to a great game series
Sorry for bad english
Yeah I dont get how he chose Ludwig over Gael
YES, FINALLY SOMEONE PUTTING FATALIS ON A LIST. Harder than any FromSoft boss I´ve ever fought. Once you learn him, you become the god of the game, it feels like previus challenging monsters are on slow motion.
So glad Genichiro is in here. The two hours i spent on Geni gave me all the experience i needed to plow through the rest of the game, while Inner Father is my overall favorite boss in Sekiro (in all of Fromsofts catalogue for that matter), i still have to appreciate him for giving me all of that experience.
Its sick you added rhulk destiny is such a really great game and you got my sub and my bell keep up the content 👍
Not having pure vessel or nightmare king grimm on this list and instead having radiance is crazy
Saw "gaius" in the timestamps and thought you meant the shitter from shadow of the erdtree for a second
Command Gaius isn't that bad of a fight. The only thing that's really bad about the fight is his bull charge, which is a horrible, designed attack. If you try and stay close to him, there is a much lower chance he will do the bull charge, making the fight much more fun.
Absolutely amazing list, great job. My only change would be putting Ishin the sword saint over genichiro ashina but that's just my personal preference
