Amazing, as always you're the one who shows in depth what's possible to do in the game via the moveset. Such a unique game even; while it has stylistic influences from Okami and Onimusha, the gameplay seems to be heavily inspired by mixing the ideas of Overlord and Pikmin in a way but the guy you control is very much a Capcom character, full of style, finese and a kickass yet simplistic moveset that has a lot of depth due to its swissknife utility. It's interesting how it seems to be similar to a Platinum-made game that Kamiya oversaw, with samurai again but taking inspiration for the visuals by Okami, that also had a somewhat simplistic yet dance-like combat style but the gameplay was way different since it was on Apple Arcade or something.
The combat is blended with a mix of Okami, Onimusha and Sengoku Basara, three of my favorite games, no I wonder I fell in love with this game instantly
thank you so much for recording all the moveset, the choreography is just so beautiful I have to put on 0.5x to appreciate every pose oka dance is so so so beautiful😭🧡🧡 and I will never know butterfly shot 7:35 has such bonita pose because I rarely equip it 🤣
To think that Soh is possibly a woman this entire time (the Good Ending of the game implied this). In universe, it's not a hard concept to understand that a woman could become a Blademaster. Since the female villagers (human NPCs with a Crane icon) can take numerous roles except for the Sumo Wrestler, as most of those roles are fields majorly occupied by males irl. The Ema Plaque desc about Soh described that she and Yoshiro are divine messengers sent by the gods for the people of Mount Kofuku. However, the wording of Yoshiro's Ema Plaque desc doesn't directly mention Soh as the second person aside from Yoshiro in it, but rather mentioning Yoshiro's ancestors instead. Which lead me to believe that the spirit chosen to guard Yoshiro on her journey purifying the land from Defilement is one of her ancestors, that we know as Soh.
@@TheBanbanGames I personally think so too. In the True Ending, we hear Soh uttering a few words towards Yoshiro before going on their way back to the heaven above. Soh's voice sounds like a woman, atleast in the original JP Dub.
Soh isn't just a normal woman, she's the previous Yoshiro. They swap roles every cycle. Soh means ancestor Yoshiro means generation. So you play as the previous divine maiden. I think Soh and Yoshiro are both aspects of the goddess.(Masculine and feminine principles.) If you read the scrolls, after Soh faces the final boss, the following scroll is 'Birth of a Goddess' and then the final one(don't wanna say for spoilers.)
@@meremsolomon4744 She's the previous Yoshiro so yes, a woman. Her voice actress is also Yoshiro's voice actress, in both Eng and Japanese. The lore shows they're essentially one in the same, two sides of a coin. I knew she was a woman the first few seconds in the first cutscene of the demo. Delicate neck area and when I looked at the render for Soh, obvious breasts. My favorite female character of all time next to Ammy from Okami. Finally, some interesting characters. I imagine people were surprised and they cleverly used 'they' to refer to Soh so as to not ruin the surprise which I think is integral to the experience of the game.
Wait, I gotta know where you got that little jingle at 0:17. Did you rip it from the game files? I'm so sad the OST didn't include all the little tunes from the game.
Soh is an absolute legend. Beautiful design, beautiful movesets. The posture, the confidence, the beauty. I want to imagine this is what Okami's Amaterasu would be like if she used a human form when fighting lol
Haha I wanted to make a reference to another Capcom franchise (Sengoku Basara) and both Kenshin and Ishida have movements similar to the Shiden style, that's why I chose Kenshin's theme song.
@@TheBanbanGames Yeah! ☺️ Only thing I dislike is that the support tsuba guards are borderline useless. 😔 Capcom should've made it possible to use those when Soh's an egg spirit. 😡
I don't want to sound like a bitter complainer who seeks to criticize everything for trifles, but honestly I want to believe that we all agree that the Shiden Style attacks could be integrated into the Oka Dance moveset without problem if were added as holding attacks between basic combos.
@@TheBanbanGames Shut up, You know it's true, or do you prefer to enter and exit the menu to choose the moveset over an appropriate integration to the control?
@@TheBanbanGames I may sound like that, but I assure you I'm not, I really liked the game, I just have one but that can be perfectly corrected without much effort.
@@maximilianoohmke5625 Okay… you really didn’t have to go that far and tell the guy to shut up😅 second I think I understand to some extent, perhaps some of the Shiden Style attacks could be transferred to the normal attack button on Oka and be held down for a charge just like the Dance Attack finishers but then again Shiden is more focused on slow but heavy hitting strikes, where areas Oka is focus more on maneuverability and versatility while delivering quick simple strikes maybe that’s why they made it that way, anyways that’s my take on it

I love the contrast of how traditional and gentle the dances are, and then the Tsuba just go full Limit Break supermove.

Yes maybe overlord inspiration too
And thank you

My friend and I also noticed a certain similarity with Sengoku Basara
@@TheBanbanGames Yeah, I find Shiden moves similar to Ishida and Kenshin in Sengoku Basara (you used Kenshin theme in Shiden Style fits very well 👍)

Hi
Me too haha, I liked it more and used Oxalis more. The best bow power.
Thank you
We're entering Capcom's weird experimental era bois
Hopefully they did not forget Sengoku Basara series 😢

The creator of Sengoku Basara is no longer at Capcom, I hope to see the series return someday.

The combat in this game actually looks SICK! (No surprise since it's Capcom) This video actually sold me on the game.
Probably being that you don’t unlock half the moveset until the end half of the game.. so for the first playthrough your very limited in your moves
