You are very good at explaining what you do, nice clear, concise instructions, love it!
I love it great teacher. Gdo bless you.🙏💜✌😘
Think I will try long straps and just tie a bow for each towel
Thank you for sharing, I love the burgundy towel, so pretty with the flowered material.
Many years ago (more than 50) I learned to do 2 rows of gathering lines in case one Breaks. And also, that technic of winding the excess thread on the pin so it stays gathered. I like your design for the "dress". Thank you!
I hope to make some of these soon. Thank you for all the work you put into this video. You did an excellent job. Yes, there is always a right and wrong side of the fabric. I used to work in a garment factory and learned how to know the difference. Yes it is VERY hard to tell so most people don’t need to worry about it, but if you look at both sides in a well lit area you can see it. The right side is on the bolt, so i make an X on the wrong side,so I can keep it correct. You can use a stiletto at 50:40 to help tuck the towel in.
You remind me of how I started sewing...I too was impatient and tried cutting corners...now I am a baster and an ironer too!. Love the little dresses. I have some of the old timers done with crochet and a button. Think I will be making some of these as gifts, maybe keep a few for myself!
It would look adorable if you put a ruffle on the outer side of the straps so it looked like a little girls dress
Nice job and thank you for sharing this tutorial!
A good video for beginners. An easier way to gather your towel, is to take a length of dental floss and zig zag over the dental floss (making sure not to catch the dental floss in the zig zag stitch). This makes gathering so much easier than gathering with sewing thread!) After I pin it to my project, and before I sew it, I pull out the dental floss! I never baste before sewing.
Sew the 4 by 8 piece in a quarter of an inch first and then place towel inside, pin and sew. Much easier now.😊
Ow that is beautiful I will be making some lots of time now in this new world of stay at home hope you’re doing well too keeping busy thanks for posting looking forward to other videos
Made 4 off these, turned out really lovely, thanks for your tutorial, and all the little sewing tip's..
I like your pattern, thank you.
Super cute ❣️ thank you for sharing ❤️
Thanks for watching
Great idea and video.. love your vintage New Home sewing machine 🤗
Thank you. Watching from Turkey.
Love the ironing board idea. Very useful. 😊
Zehra Oksoy Absolutely love when viewers say where they are watching from!!! Las Vegas, NV 10/23/2019
Doing the towels for over your stove door, why use interfacing? Can't you spray starch the fabric to make it stiff? Thanks for sharing, I am looking for one that is simple and easy.
Did you use two towels or did you cut one in half?
Also on the newer machine couldn't a gathering foot be used?
Did you use 2 towels or did you cut one in half? Did I miss something?
I really like this towel ideal. can't wait to get this project started. Thank you.
These look adorable. My question is don't you need to put a snap to connect these two sides together once you drape it over the oven door? Otherwise, don't then tend to not hang straight?
I put snaps on mine
You are good teacher
I use interfacing, batting is too heavy and thick and put snaps on the sides. TY
Us there a reason that you can't insert the top edge of the gathered towel inside the bottom of the dress bodice that has been turned under and pressed then stitch shut?
I love these, they are adorable. Love the ironing board idea. Great tutorial. Just curious as to if there is a reason it would not work the way I suggested as you make these I don't but I will be and wanted to find out before I do something wrong.
I would think it is much easier the way you suggested. I've seen another video that did it that way. I do like the design of this dress better. She doesn't show a side closure for it though. Could be ribbon ties or snaps, etc.
I love the stitches. necchi machines are wonderful.
Better than taking it apart and re-sewing! 🙈
Thanks for the tutorial. I made 3 of these and love them.
Thank you very much.
What do you call that white fabric?
Beautiful l love it
Thick areas are mainly the needle, not the machine
Very nice! Quality work!
Hi there you have such great ideas wonderful gift thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching! glad you are still with me. I have been slow with uploading lately and hopefully I have time to bring more easy and economical gift ideas before Christmas for those looking to gift something special to someone. Have a great day!
I sew a top stitch one fourth inch from first seam at waist, looks even nicer.
It came out lovely! I've been collecting dishtowels and plan on making some for Christmas gifts. Thanks for the tips! What is your purple tool called? Looks so handy!!! TFS

very cute Thank you for sharing :) great tips! (:
I love to make these but I’m wondering if that was the only towel (orange) you had to go with that purple fabric? Not sure if I would put those colors together to give as a gift!
Brenda Hamrick yup, it was the only towel I had.
How many inches long is the strap
Hi there, they are 4 by 8 . Same as the base pieces.
The more expensive towels are thicker, the cheaper ones are easier to sew.
thanks for the tutorial. you are a very good teacher. very thorough. do you have other videos?
wonderful tute! thankyou!..
You do a great job of teaching. Note: if you put your camera looking down from your machine. We will be able to see what you are doing better. Hope this helps you out.
thank you for the recommendation. I do need to find a better angle for the camera when doing sewing tutorials.
Lovely! 😊
I do mine with half inch seam at waist ,so much easier to handle to sew.
Very nice 👍
Good tutorial!
What make of sewing machine is that? :-)
I liked you vedio. I made mine with buttons. Have lots of buttons
Great idea! What size towel can be used?
Beverly Moss hand towel or kitchen towel
What do you do with it? Need to show using it.
The purple looks like a hand towel not tea towel.

Nice idea but way to long to make a kitchen towel. I could make a dress in the time it took for a towel. Also an easier method for the towel part would be not to stitch the rectangle all the way to the bottom on the short side. If you press up 1/2” before stitching the side seam on one piece of the dress then then sew the towel to the unpressed piece it will automatically tuck under and you would not have to fuss with the corners or worry about poking out. You can just top stitch it in place.
