    Our VRF Grab Bags (GB) videos are compiled from content from our cameras as Mods and fans spot something neat while watching our cameras. In the GB you will, of course, find a variety of TRAIN content, special trains, maintenance, steam, diesels, interesting rail cars, cool paint schemes and more. You will also find fun people, city events, boats, planes, cars (sometimes going wild) and nature. Thank you for taking the time to sit back and enjoy these highlight reels that we call "Grab Bags"!

    17:30 That’s 2081, a Boeing hill locomotive. It’s one of the only four units certified to take Boeing parts up and down the 5.7% grade from the Puget Sound to the Boeing plant in Everett, WA.
    It was also featured in Microsoft Train Simulator.

    In my 60 years i can honestly say that was the first unit pipe train I've ever seen. Also, in Fort Madison, that was the longest blade train I've ever seen. Two rarities in one video. Very cool.

    One of these days, that dude is going to attempt to run over an employee while going around gates and get nailed by the train! And then of course, his family will sue the railroad for not providing enough protection from the train. Flashing lights, warning bells, a gate obstructing the road, the horn from the train and a guy in an orange vest waving frantically to stop were not enough warning.

      In the unlikely event that truck driver was thinking at all, he probably thought the gates were down for the barely-moving MOW train.
      Maybe the State of Washington should put up some license plate cameras on the Chehalis crossings. There seems to be enough Darwin candidates in the area that their fines would pay for the cameras pretty quickly.

    The driver in the white pickup clearly thought that the crossing gates were down for the slow moving equipment and decided that he could make it, not taking into account the other track could have something coming as well, with the slow equipment blocking his view. This is why it's often stress by safety experts and Operation Lifesaver to always expect another train on double tracked lines. Hopefully that guy's close call taught him a lesson.

    @10:15 - A really close call indeed. But there's something fishy there - we didn't see it, but it didn't look like that worker even attempted to stop the truck. Quite the opposite, in fact - he just casually turned away after the truck passed him, almost as if his mindset was the same as the truck driver's. The close call didn't bother him a bit, if he even saw it.

    Q: on the NS wb hopper train separation at 15:31, I'm guessing the cars were empty? I don't know how much train/tonnage was behind the Conrail hopper but if not much, how does a knuckle give way in that situation?

    • @kennethhanks6712
      @kennethhanks6712 8 месяцев назад +1
