I live by the Plant City diamond. Have NEVER seen this happen. Dude traveled 300 feet down the tracks from a large crossing with plenty of signage. Told the cops while i was watching the stream, "I thought it was just one of those cobble stone roads around here." He had out of state tags too which is common around here this time of year. Lots of "snow birds".
I have to admit, my first thought was to wonder if the driver was from Polk County.
He was from PA. and came from Linda's Crab Shack. At one point he told the cop he realized he was on RR tracks after 10 or 12 feet and the cop asked him "why didn't you stop then?"
too funny, I know this area and was like, HOW IN THE WORLD? There is no road near there.

Great clear view of the new CSX 'MONON' heritage unit, and the clean refurbished NS "Southern' Heritage Unit. Great 'Grab Bag'!
I just want to see those two heritage units together on one train.

Great to see BNSF SW1500 3443 in her green livery, what a faithful workhorse she looked.

I checked-out the Stadler DART Silver Line Flirt trains. I thought they look really cool and I could see their European origins. Thanks VRF

I like the "Coaster" cars! I use the North County Transit trains (San Diego County) often. The Sprinter & Coaster are part of the transit system.
I used to live in Encinitas and work in Carlsbad back in the day, can't believe how much that area has grown up and gotten congested.

Just about a minute before the dude in Plant City attempted his hand at a rail road career, Amtrak went by. The camera picked up the guy telling his buddy he say lights,then what he "thought" was a road. Hmmm 🤔 Wonder what his "proof" was

I haven't seen anything from Tacoma Rail since I was a little kid--so cool! I had to look up FLIRT; it sure looked impressive. The deer in Flagstaff were gorgeous--that buck was amazing!--and I did feel sorry for the guys on the bike. It was not what they expected! Thanks for another great one!

Another Darwin Award for the pedestrian at 4:52, crossing just after the train with the Coasters cleared, before the gates lifted. There very well could have been another train on the third track.

Thankful the bike riders weren’t racing across the tracks to beat a train at that moment! This was like watching “Dumb and Dumber”😳
My guess is the pilot (Captain) underestimated the width of the concrete joint. Down they go! (I've seen this happen from road joints IRL, results weren't pretty).
I appreciate that they also demurred from any attempt to remount the cycle, until they were clear of the crossing..

Effort above and beyond the call of driving had to be applied, that's for sure. Looking at Google Maps shows the diamond is at least 150 feet from the road.

(4:58) - I saw that heritage unit pass through Sterling, Ohio, on the CSX New Castle Sub at about 11:45AM that same day (February 1st). It was leading eastbound M370, running from Chicago (Clearing Yard) to Cumberland, Maryland. Surprisingly, the 1827 came back through Sterling just three days later (February 4th), and this time, it was leading M369 (the westbound counterpart to M370). When you're lucky, you're lucky.
Nice lash ups with Wabash EMD and UP run-through GE power on point, EMD lash up with Operation Lifesaver Unit, SRR GE in Roanoke and CR GE in Fairport, lots of great trains!🛤🚂

At 20:45 the (the Amtrak P42) there's a red light next to the fuel filler. I've never noticed that before lit up like that. What is it for? Is it low on fuel?
What type of Diesel Gensets are on each Grinder car? They look opposed cylinder type.

@@chuckbritton4874 That is a scale test car used to check the calibration of scales for weighing cars.The scales are periodically tested and certified to be reading correctly. Bulk commodities like coal, grain, oil, etc are billed by the weight of the product shipped. Weigh the car, subtract the empty weight of the car, & bill for the weight of the product being shipped.
