Tyler didn’t spend $1 million. If you complete a level, but then your solution fails after a physics update, then it auto-sets your price to $1 million
If your pre-patch score was above a certain treshold it gets reset to 1$ million. I believe it was the top 2.5%. No bridges were simulated for this reset.

Have you ever imagined that engineers would build bridges like this? Build part, let truck go forward, either breaks the bridge or leaps at the end and you'd waste like lot of material and trucks xD
Anyways, the bridge you saved for next time, try to solve it without hydraulics using levers and gravity.
I feel like the fact that the optimal solutions for the falling road challenge was basically the strongest shape was an intentional decision by the devs

A tip for plane engineers: the more weight you have it is easier to stop but the weight makes you go forward so it cancels eachother out and you have to predict the weight of the plane itself with no additional stuff

I imagine the units would be weird, but with these more “realistic” bridge designs, would you be able to engineer up a design on paper with all the calculations and whatnot and then build it? Like a real project, go from concept to design to implementation without trial and error.

In all levels of the main campaign, spring adjustments are disabled.
For creating new levels, there's an option in the editor to turn it on.
