@@tommyt2854 I actually have a recipe in my head for just that but with an Old Skool Pogo seat and split tanks. Been watching Wheels Through Time WAY to much🤣.
In all honesty, blown away by this item. Been looking to put a Springer on my wife's 48 for some time now, but did not want to go to the hassle of breaking everything down including triple trees, handlebars, risers, and all the electrical wiring and extensions that come with it. What a beautiful design and simplicity 💥💥💥💥💥💥
48's have a mid glide 39mm, unfortunately, you wont be able to run it, its for narrow glides. if you found your self a set of narrow 39mm and changed them out it could work but the stock trees on the 48 are too wide.
@@josephpetrizio78 noice, yeah siouxicide has them on their site. I was just referencing the one we used in this vid if that's what you were thinking would work. All good, and thanks for doing the research and hope it works out good for you. cheers
Holy cow!!! That is the dopeness! Add a kickstarter too. I know Led Sled makes a kicker kit. Not sure if there are any other good options. Anyway, thanks for treating Sportys with the respect they deserve. Stay frosty.
Springer front ends are great...not to mention that you don't loose overall wheel base...also springers are much softer and hell of alot more comfortable then forks... Proud owner of a 89 fxsts and a 14 xl1200c
My sportster chopper gets my old lady way way more wet than the street glide ever could, thank you for making my bike bad fucking ass and getting my old lady wet again, cheers to lowbrow 🤘🏻
They need a collar at the top to center the outter springs on the top so when you tighten them down they dont push sideways like the driverside spring did on todd when he was turning the nut the last time right before he measured the threads showing
I found it easier to use the ratchet strap; and have the wheel on the axle using the weight of the bike to help, to compress the springs far enough to switch over to using a LARGE C-Clamp to finish compressing the springs. I had 3 different straps that the ratchet failed every time before compressing the springs far enough to start the nuts. As for how much tension is on those springs; when the strap ratchets failed, my front wheel wound up at least a foot off of the ground.
Yeah anything that has a 39MM front end. we stopped carrying them but you can find them here www.siouxicidechoppers.com/store/siouxicide-choppers-springer-kit-39mm
I'm surprised they would use anti-seize, instead of like Marine grease on that bushing but it's not my engineering or my part. But I do like the idea of using the original triple trees....
@@lowbrowcustoms well I try and pick out the best for whatever application it is that's the only reason I bought up brought up that question.. thanks for the reply....🖖
I just bought a 1977 sports dryer head. It's got some God off a long fork on it. The tubes look like Six inches over but I don't know what they really are but it's got awful ugly and I want to get the friending leveled back out I want to put a Springer front end on it but I don't know what size Springer to order. I thought maybe I'd get a four inch under and it would level it back out but I don't want to buy it and then have the front frame Drag the ground can you help me out
You know when you hit a free spring it goes "boing"? That being iscthe spring frequency. Undamped springs bounce up and down. The double springs are so they have conflicting frequencies to keep it from acting like the pogo stick you had as a kid...
I love to get that front end and put it on my sportster. However with this economy I have trouble understand when and where $1400 is going to fall out of the sky and into my lap. That is more than 1/6 of the price I paid for my USED sportster.
Looks to me like it's a bit longer than stock? If the sums were done properly, then the increase in trail from the over length "springer" would balance out the decrease from the springer geometry. But I didn't design it, so that's just a guess.
Cool idea, but if you have the skills to properly install this and complete all the other modifications required then you could also just install a normal springer.

More content featuring Todd, please! I dont even own a harley, yet I love to watch his build videos.
If you guys keep doing these Sporty build vids, I’m going to have to buy a used one and a bunch of stuff from you.
Precisely lol
Ditto. With this Springer and that weld on hardtail, it would actually be a pretty sweet bike.
That's why he's doing it..............LOL
Good luck. Sporties are getting hard to find around here and the ones that do come up are overpriced.

While I’m not planning on getting a springer, I never miss a video from Todd! Excellent video as always!
You could feel the palpable apprehension during the spring compression. I’d feel exactly the same way. Great video.

Nice looking part and seems easily installed. Now we just need a new Saturday Sportster series! Wooo
I wouldn't mind seeing a vintage Triumph on the next series. They wouldn't be able to call it Saturday Sportster though. Thursday Triumph maybe.

Right on 💪 I have been thinking about this installation for a long time, and now it's time for a springer 🤘😎
Wow great to see you still going. Much Props!!! Wish i saw this sooner. Hope you are well. TFR

Hello Todd. Another great video. Thank you
I wish you were close enough, You are a fantastic wrench bro.

All it needs now are Brembos all around, quality rear shocks ...and a 6th gear.
Would this fit on my 96 Sporty XL1200c

dope
Wouldn't mind trying this on my 96 fxdl but it came with dual disc brakes on it.
sorry yeah, only can run one on this version.
Any torque settings for these bolts and fittings?
I'm surprised they would use anti-seize, instead of like Marine grease on that bushing but it's not my engineering or my part.

you could use marine grease too.. whatever your heart desires as long as those bushings can move freely

Do You Have A Springer For A 2006 Harley Sportster 1200 Low That Will Fit My Bike
I like the idea, but adding rockers with triple trees that already have offset built in , doubles the bikes trail..
Do they make these for an 05 Lowrider? Dont seem to see these...

How much is the spriner
Couldnt you just mount the front wheel and set the bike on the ground and you wouldnt need the strap..? Just a thought. 😊
At least this is way more advanced than the Eric barros aka yammie noob tail tidy shop.
niice!
I have to imagine the trail geometry on this setup is severely compromised. Opinions?
This kit is junk lol

Is there one that is 2 inch taller? Lol for a 2021 iron 883

yes this is true, some people dont have those skills and still want the look, hence the part. :)

Yeah just skip the boring headlight part that contains 80% of the bikes electrical wiring 😂
I don't think I'll be buying this when even your own site has full springers for $500 less than these, Nuts!
🤣
omg who would pay money to do that to a sportster?
That thing is hideous.
Ewwwww lol that setup is just wrong, get a real springer, it’s more work to assemble the spring assembly than it is to just pull the stem out
Will this springer work on my 98 1200
I no like :
