Great job. I'm planning on putting my old springer front end off an 08 crossbones that was totaled in a fire. Hopefully the integrity of the steel wasn't compromised from the heat. My 07 heritage has regular stock forks and I really miss the ability to turn on a dime with the springer. I've been dreading swapping them out for a lack of detailed instructions. I have no excuse now thanks to your channel. I'm very confident to take on the job. Fingers crossed they are not fubar and I can once again have the pleasure of cruising with the missing ingredient. Thanks again!! I'll be checking out your website for parts.
Nicely done professional video. Since you have experience with both aftermarket and OEM HD springers, do you know if you can get aftermarket spring / shock sets that would work to replace the springs on the OEM. My crossbones of course comes with the black and chrome front end. Almost every peace of chrome is tarnished/ rusted, wanting to do a rebuild and maybe fully black it out
Short answer is yes, we can get most of the replacement components for Softail springers, only in chrome though and they are often out of stock. Email us exactly what you're looking for at info@throttleaddiction.com and we can see if we can help you out.
Great video bud, I want to change my 2000 fat boy over to a springer. So does this kit basically have everything I need? Bearings, risers, riser bushings, etc, etc. now,do I need to replace my caliper to fit the new brake stay? Thanks much appreciated!
Yes if you're converting from a Hydragilde front end to this springer everything you need comes with the springer except you will need a new caliper and a new wheel
Not sure about a special tool. Can you give me more information? If you're looking for the spacer bearings they don't come with the springer. If you need spacer bearings you can only get them from Harley-Davidson.
I’ve got the same bike with hydra glide ( wide glide) front end, I tossed the 21 years ago for a 16 fat boy wheel & fender, I’d like to install a springer front end & keep my 16” wheel & fender, is there a fender adapter for 2 parallel mounts that are on my legs my paint is close to the ladies ride
We do! They aren't on our website, but you can call to place the order. First, steering race removal and installation tool is part number 3850048 and is $114, second, the steering stem bearing and installation tool is part number 38050118 and is $59. Our phone number is (715) 210-3535 and we're here Monday-Friday 9a-5p CST
Awesome video. Do you guys sell specific Springer front wheels? Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the hubs on Springer wheels designed for correct spacing? For example, isn't a front wheel on an FXST Softail different than the front wheel on a FXSTS Softail Springer? I'm looking for a black 21" wheel for my 95 Bad Boy and am having trouble understanding in all. Thanks
Don’t hang your caliper like that! The hose is designed to stretch outward with volume and pressure they’re not meant to be stretched lengthwise. Use a bungee cord! Good vid though!

Thanks for making this video. I have a springer and it is almost impossible to find informative videos for this
Pretty good detail. Wish I had this 12 years ago when I converted my 87 FXR, well done.
" He went into the Rhubarb a little bit " Best explanation ever !! :)

Nice. Very well done and presented. Can I ask what pipes are on that bike ?
Thank you
I believe they are Sampson Rip Saws samsonusa.com/shop/s2-974/
@@ThrottleAddictionCo Thank you. Would like to put these on my 2007 fxstc. 👍🏻
Would have been very helpful if you could have shown how you pulled the old bearing races out of the neck.
@@tompava3923 good point! I've heard it's a real pita.
I wonder if a FLSTS springer would work on my 2013 Softail slim?
Was wondering what tool you used to remove the races. That motion pro that you're using won't work on a 2001 Springer.

@@ThrottleAddictionCowhy the new wheel? I’m trying to gain info about the swap. Is it because the 3.5” wheel is to wide?
Respectfully, that’s a FX style springer replacement, not FL…. Amazing video; thank you.
Respectfully, it's AN FX style springer, not A FX style springer : )
curious on where one could find a new complete front 21'' rim and hub for the springer i have a 1988 fxsts
hello would you happen to know which front springer fork I would need to buy for a 2008 Harley crossbones ? thank you,
Love it 5:50
Hi great useful video,, I have a 2002 Flsts,, can you recommend what Greece to use for the head bearing please.
General purpose grease should do the trick
On the 2000 harley-davidson heritage springer flsts is there a special tool for.the finder my new finder did not come with the spacer bearings

thanks for the vid! Did you grease just the bearing or do you fill the whole neck with grease as well?
I just grease the bearings really well and put a little bit in the neck

Where can I find that style of handlebar?

They are definitely different, unfortunately all of our manufacturers are out of stock on them and have been for some time, wish we could help you out

watched this just to see if washer on top of bearing under lock nut
Hope the young lady was ok.
She was ok, we appreciate your concern🙌
No grease
Why click the tongue wrench 3 times in aviation they would make us break the torque and do it again ,only one click
