You know, you could easily always have some expensive bike Noone has on that lift but you don't. Yall have an old sporterator and basic tools. I think that helps more people than one might think. There's still alot of evos out there!
Great video. I laughed out loud at the end when Todd sent the oil pan flying with his lower fork. That was one of those moments where everyone watching saw it coming a few seconds before it happened. : )
Lowbrow has been literally walking me through getting my first sportster hooked up. Todd is an awesome guy and he has helped me find what I need for my bike along with technical help. Truly amazing people and I’m very grateful for their help. Can’t wait to send them the pics of what they’ve helped me accomplish!
The oil spill only makes you more relatable haha! Last time I took my legs apart I forgot to take the fork seal clip out and was slamming the lower like 50 times before I figured it out.
Killer series man, just excellent! You are NO joke especially with that ending...I laughed my butt off...thanks big time! Can't wait til next Saturday!
Guys, this is a fantastic video series - without doubt, the clearest and most complete information on working on a Sportster on the web. Pitching this at a home mechanic level, where skills, costs and tools are humble in comparison to other channels that rely on welding or metal fabrication, you have nailed this target audience. Big thanks to you all for making it happen!
Great series, Todd is the man. Having a run of the mill sportster is why I tune in, to many channels have unrealistic builds. I appreciate the way you guys are going about this build and the price range of normal people.
absolutely priceless! From spraying carb cleaner in my eyes to falling off my work bench stool. Todd is the man and the reason I tune in to the channel. keep the great content coming.
This episode is a great lesson for teaching people that just because it was "kept in a shed or garage" doesn't mean the bike is safe to ride. What a "great", relatable ending to the episode.
You could have easily edited that last part out but you chose just to let it roll. Fuck it. What you see is what you get with this guy. Love it man. Keep it coming. Great series. Very relatable!
I’m gonna be doing this with my 2003 xl1200c anniversary! Love this series guys! Love how in depth you go with these, really simplifies it for a fella! Thank you!!!
Awesome video series. You give me the confidence to dig into our bikes when I find something is not right. I have a 3 sportsters in my garage 94,02,03 models. We've done some customizing and I'm sure there's plenty of maintenance I need to do like fork rebuilds. Thank you for your content!
This series is going to send me broke...lol Got a 2014 xl1200c that i am going to be flat/street tracking, so this series will help with ideas. Already got the soild mounts and chain conversation from you guys. Todd has one hell of a laid back easy going attitude, we need more todds in the world
🤬😂Thank you lowbrow for another awesome sportster video! Too bad we didn't get to hear Todd's trick on how to remove a stuck bolt. I can imagine it would be a nightmare if that does happen. I can understand why it ended the way it did. 🤣🤣
This is right on time for me. Looking for a sporty to tinker with. I felt bad for laughing at the end. Then said to myself, " Well, i guess we don't get to find out the trick to remove the screw with the stripped head."
I have to replace the guts in the forks on my 2001 Indian Spirit - so glad to find your video 'cause its basically Harley in disguise. You carried me thru a rocker box gasket replacement a while back with - THANK YOU! . HOWEVER! When this video started with you wearing a freshly laundered Eddie Bauer type shirt, almost looking freshly pressed, I'm like, "You've GOT to be kidding me!" I can't get within 10' of a bike without some fluid jumping out and landing all over my clothes. "What arrogance", I thought. . But then I was vindicated - big oily splash and #*!^ .... yeah, me too... Great video, THANK YOU I will get started on the work soon - but I'll be wearing my already greasy work shirt.. (heh heh heh) . Looking forward to next Saturday - thinking you'd look good in a Tux
Very interesting and informative! Oh my goodness, would you look at that! Just look at it. (I have seen the video 😉) thanks for sharing, looking forward to the next one!
Great series! It’s always game on when it comes to removing the bottom fork bolts! I had to make a harbor freight run and get a impact to get mine out. Lol 😂
THANK YOU! These how to video's are great. keep em comin! I hate to say it but I'd rather learn from your messy mistakes than my own haha. Thanks guys!
I love how this is going exactly as my DIY maint always goes. Saw that one coming though... 😁 I'm gonna go out and buy a Sporty and follow along, step by step. Do you guys install the Hooligan kits if customer ships the motor? I've watched the video, but I just don't have the competence for that part.
Sorry we don't do any in house work on other peoples motorcycles, Only sell parts and we do work on our own bikes to share the knowledge with customers in videos like these for the sheer joy of it and helping others in that way. Our best suggestion is find a local motorcycle shop or get a couple mechanically inclined buddies to come over and help ya out.
I feel your pain. Been there done that . Plus that shit stains and stinks like Hell . Me and fluids don't get along . You showed great restraint , I would of cursed a blue streak .
If I wanted to put a narrow glide front end on my 2015 sporty 48 will I run into any problems? I will also use the stock 19 inch front wheel that goes with that narrow glide front end like the irons
Triple tress, tubes, axel, spacers and wheel, you'll need all of that, be sweet if you can find all in one front end on chopper swapper or something like that. Harley has a 1 inch stem and you should be able to convert it easily. If it handles like crap then maybe you might wanna go back to the original front end. Nice thing is its an easy swap back.
We sold the one that was on this bike, we have tons of tanks that fit an 03 sportster just not the anniversary issued one. www.lowbrowcustoms.com/collections/motorcycle-gas-tanks/motorcycle-specific_harley-davidson-sportster
Then you will have to drill the head off of the fastener till it is gone with out mucking up the place where the sealing washer goes that allows the lower to come off and you will be left with just threads in the bottom of the damper tube which usually come out easily
What was the trick to getting the drain plug out if the impact gun wouldn't do it? I think Todd got distracted before he had a chance to relay the wisdom. Thanks!
I love you there’s cussing, tools laying around, accidents happening, and a huge mess os spilled oil. It’s like a real garage. Not like this clean, perfect, everything always works as planned studio “garages”. How do those guys even work on anything without even getting their hands dirty?
About 5 years ago I was rebuilding my '83 xlx. When tracing out the electrical, I got as far as the headlight and decided to just buy all the right colors of wire in appropriate gage and rip everything out that didn't make sense (all of it!), which took away the headache of trying to fit the headlight bulb back into its assembly, which, since that's where it's made, you need to send it to Japan to have someone fit it all in. Once I'd gotten over that hurdle the parts went together like they were made to, and rode it for 20,000 miles or so till the case decided to become a sieve. When I get a wild hare up my ass I'll take her down to bare bones and splash oil all over my shop like you just did, and maybe, who knows, put a balanced flywheel in her. Here's my girl running! ruclips.net/video/lQ9ZWSQvGt8/видео.html Thanks for the vid!
Evo Sportster is the best bike Harley ever made imo especially rigid mount carbed ones. went thru the whole deal starting with my 96 XLH 1200 then a Dyna and a softail and finally road king but never liked them as good so now im back on my first bike the Sporty and i love the bloody thing even if it will carb fart oil mist on my leg and burn my pants and shoes from time to time :D
You know, you could easily always have some expensive bike Noone has on that lift but you don't. Yall have an old sporterator and basic tools. I think that helps more people than one might think. There's still alot of evos out there!
Todd is the only reason why I know about lowbrow customs!!! He’s “ fun and educational” -jingle all the way. Lol
Great video. I laughed out loud at the end when Todd sent the oil pan flying with his lower fork. That was one of those moments where everyone watching saw it coming a few seconds before it happened. : )
Especially while he's dressed in his Saturday best
Sportster Saturday is the best! Sorry Todd I have to laugh at your mess 😆. Keep the awesome content coming please. Thank you Lowbrow Customs!
Lowbrow has been literally walking me through getting my first sportster hooked up. Todd is an awesome guy and he has helped me find what I need for my bike along with technical help. i dont think this episode could have ended any better. deff grabbed a beer before cleaning that up LOL
Killer series man, just excellent! You are NO joke especially with that ending...I laughed my butt off...thanks big time! Can't wait til next Saturday!
We are releasing them every other
The single most real working on a motorcycle video I have seen
Just when he thought he was in the clear… LOL

My new Saturday cartoons
Fantastic show Todd is reason I am here.
I’m gonna be doing this with my 2003 xl1200c anniversary! Love this series guys! Love how in depth you go with these, really simplifies it for a fella! Thank you!!!
Great video! Great ending! I would call my mother to clean up that mess also. I think I’ll move my oil pan before the slide hammer action.
Great video and sorry for your loss (it was a good shirt :) ) But all of us been there
Would you look at that ! Todd is a great, he must be a blast to work with.
Classic Todd, wearing his Sunday best on a Saturday 😅 it seems he had a feeling it was too good to be true, the end cracked me up! Lesson learned
I knew that was going to happen. I was thinking “I’d move that” and then Splash!
This is exactly the kind of content I love, please keep this kind of stuff coming! Loved the triumph rebuild series too!
it just got fun at the end 😂😂😂. lol Always a blast when oil goes everywhere.
Just ordered 3 of those drivers with a 1/4 socket insert off Amazon. One for me and one for each of my boys. Woo!
Thank you for the education. Especially on the gloriously articulate pronunciation of "Mother F**ker" at the end.

You can't go wrong with Showa forks.👍👍👍
This man is funny and sarcastic af even on camera. Imagine him in person off camera 😂😂😂
Todd, that was classic. You need real skill to do that.
Well that just f#@&"* sucked. Seen it coming with that pan setting there. Good stopping point. Thanks for the Saturday morning funnies.
This series is going to send me broke...lol

Keep the uppers in place... what a good idea! 👍👍👍
Love this series - I could watch hours of Todd working on bikes.
Haha BOZO moment looks like its your shout for a box of beer could see that coming all the way from Australia
Thanks for this series. Just brought home an ‘08 nightster and started a scrambler build with it. Looking forward to the next episode.
😆I was afraid that would happen. lol. Great series btw, I can't wait till the next episode.
Like a mix of The big lebowski and Vice grip garage. Me likey :)
Do more vintage triumph please!
Todd needs “chinga dinga” merch! Please make it
Love the "woohs", keep it up
Love the ending glad I'm not the only one, I probably would have cussed more and threw the fork leg harder🤣
🤬😂Thank you lowbrow for another awesome sportster video! Too bad we didn't get to hear Todd's trick on how to remove a stuck bolt. I can imagine it would be a nightmare if that does happen. I can understand why it ended the way it did. 🤣🤣
Yeah I'd love to know how he'd have done it, maybe in episode 3? Or could you post something somewhere about it?
😂😂 bout pissed myself at the end

Bro the ending to this video 👌😂💀.
He kept his language so PG throughout the videos and then that happened. 😂🤣
Todd I new that was going to happen. I have done the same thing. Thanks for sharing can’t wait for your next show
RIP Todd's shirt. Thanks for the awesome video though!!!

Loved the oil flying everywhere
THANK YOU! These how to video's are great. keep em comin! I hate to say it but I'd rather learn from your messy mistakes than my own haha. Thanks guys!
Oh I could see that spill coming but apparently yelling at the phone screen doesn’t allow your message to go back in time and be heard!🤨
Good stuff Todd. My 90 XL 883 on the lift right now. Damn, better service my forks!
just dont make a mess of your garage like Todd ahahah
hahaha I saw that ending coming. I was hoping it wouldn't happen, but I guess we all make mistakes.
man i wish my garage was that nice the ending had me laughing my balls off

anyone else see that coming? I done the exact same thing many times and reacted the same way..... HAHAHAHAA
And that ended that episode
Great vids!
Hi; was wondering what the trick is if the bolt won’t come out the fork.; very helpfull series!

That was a nice shirt too🤦🏻♂️
Todd wassss pissed. He loved that shirt haha
@@lowbrowcustoms soak it in Simple Green, the non diluted kind, and it’ll wash out. Ask me how I know… 😁
Очень приятно смотреть! Много полезного узнаю для своего sportmaster 95th anniversary

are you really working on anything if you dont make a mess and curse at at least 4 parts? Keep the videos coming man.
Plan B talk about that when you don't feel like setting the shop on fire. Done that a few times and it's always annoying.
And when that happens it's time to call quits for day I hate when that happens😩
Great, thx Todd 😆

Good job on the grease spill. It let's the rest of us know you're human too. Thanks for teaching.
had to cut from the camera man doing the "lowbrow howl" laughing at him. Stuff smells like the funk too.... I bet he's always a sport about it.
The work shop / Todd's office reeked for like a week! it suckkked aahahah.
Absolutely educational and funny too.cheers tod.😅
