I bought the Gen 1 as a toy for the range, for $349, in 2011 or 2012. Have been shooting it since then and discovered a couple things. 1...it ALWAYS goes bang. In nine years i have never had a failure with it. 2...it is far more accurate than I thought it would be. I can put every round in a 25 round mag into a targets head at 25 to 30 yards, and can ring steel at 75 plus. 3...not one of the plastic parts has failed in 9 years of shooting and manipulation, and I don't see any signs of fatigue in the stress points. However, I might decide to go metal with MCARBO for the feed ramp and upgrade the trigger at some point. I had thoughts of adding a dot, but at self defense range, dont need it. My "toy" has earned its way into a role in my home defense and my trip bag.

Part of my note to Midwest Industries Sales Manager Tyler Storch Below re: Sub2000 Optic Mount: Hello, I purchased a GEN2 SUB 2000 MINI OPTIC MOUNT (picatinny) late last year, I have used this unit with my Keltec Sub2000 under 10 times. I have not been able to make it hold zero, the front to back recoil, although not heavy, still affects the position of the picatinny mount. I live in Canada, after duty and exchange, this was one of the most expensive add-ons to my gun, I think it worked out to about 1/3 the cost of the gun ($210 cad). To make certain it was not my carbine, bullets/powder (factory or handload), I'd done tests. The most obvious test doesn't even require firing, just stick the gun in a sled, have the red-dot pointed at a target, twist the optic mount on it's horizontal plane, then twist it back, and it's off, by an amount I don't think anyone would be satisfied with, varying from 1/2" - 1"+.

I just took an 1/8” drill bit to my rear sight, bought a butt load of 124gr true NATO spec .9mm Luger ammo and learned to shoot it in it’s cleanest carbine configuration. It stays in a back pack in the backseat of my pickup along with a simple mag carrier rig in pack with a load out of about 300 rounds. It is the Glock configuration so I also have a battle belt set up for my Glock 17 mos but I keep it simple too. Changed out the sights for some really good suppressor height night sights. Belt has a good fixed blade On it along with all the other things that make a damn good battle belt. Now you can say what you want but this belt setup came straight off of Amazon. The holster is just good ballistic nylon and it’s able to accommodate several service size autos with lights. All that plus a 3 day pack will either get me home, get me to where there are other like minded people or someone will get it all off my corpse. That happens, it doesn’t matter after that.

i got my keltec last month. i’ve spent maybe $200 so far not including my optic. I got the tandemkross bolt tube, trex arms sling, recoilless charging handle, recoil buffer tube, the folding sights, missouri tactical recoil pad, and i got a handguard, a surefirex300 (it’s for my glock but i love it on my keltec) i want to get the RLP forend so i can spin my optic around and still close it. my biggest gripe was the trigger, then the iron sights. iron sights are taken care of, now i think i’ll order the mcarbo trigger parts and some other goodies

My pack and other things are as "Grey Man" as I can get. Now I also carry my Glock 19 mos every single day. I upgraded all my gen 4 and 3 Glocks up to gen 5 glocks. I also carry a gen 5 Glock 48 mos tricked out with shield arms mags, 4 to 5 mags all together, two on my belt and 2 in my CCW vest.

nice build, only thing i’m gonna do different is get the RLP forend, MAYBE either do a front sight post delete or the RLP front sight as well, or just stick with the stock one and then i’ll add a eotech for the fuck of it or a holosun 510c

I too have a sub2000. However I chose the Red Lion rotating fore grip over the Midwest industries mount because the the mlock interface to the plastic foregrip doesn't hold very well and it loses zero over time. Also, the integrated plastic picatinny rail is not flat and sights mounted directly to that rail tend to shift as well. While pricy, I think the Red Lion fore grip along with the M Carbo trigger upgrade are the two best modifications for the sub2000.

I just went ahead 2 yrs ago and bought the fully upgraded mcarbo keltech sub2000. I mean every upgrade mcarbo had have from them. Was nice too be able to order it directly from them with every upgrade they offer. I paid 1170 and i mean it wad worth it. Its like competition worthy out the box and i can use plus p rds. It like going from a toyota to a mecedes. I have a cmmg banshee and its a toss up between the two. But i tend to carry the sub2000 as my bag gun due to it being lighter and has a 16inch barrel rds i carry are around 2600fps put a 16in barrel

I enjoy both Kel-Tecs I own, I think definitely they leave a bit to desire with build quality, but that's all part of the appeal to me, the affordability! I have had zero malfunctions on this Sub-2000 pre and post upgrades with around 1,000 rounds.

@@CPTA.Training Sorry I carried and instructed in the service and as a LEO. And any firearm , that jams or is finicky as to what ammo it will take or sheds parts is not only junk but dangerous. If you can't bet your life on it don't own it. There are many inexpensive firearms that fit this bill. I carry a Taurus Millennium Gen. 2 it's dirt cheap and works.
