Brought a tear to my eye. Chipper was my favorite player growing up. I wore his #10 and high socks throughout little league and babe ruth. Congrats Chipper. You deserve it. And the 12 voters that didnt vote you in must be Mets or Phillies fans 😉
Well said. My first little league team was the Braves and I thought being put at 3rd base just like my favorite player Chipper Jones was the coolest thing ever. I miss watching him play. He represented everything good about the game.
Yankees fan and Chipper was the face of National League baseball for me! If I wasn’t watching American League games, it was tuning in to see what Chip and Braves were doing!! What a career!! One of the best ever!!
Chipper Jones my honest opinion is the best switch hitter of his era. My all-time favorite player to ever lace up there cleats! I will forever and always be a diehard Braves fan! Congrats Chipper this honor is well deserved!!
More than a hero. More than a legend. More than an inspiration. More than a class act. More than the face of a franchise. More than a Southern icon. More than a Hall of Famer. More than all, he’s just one-of-a-kind, someone whose aura and mystique cannot be put into words. God bless you, Chipper. Braves Country will always love you.
I am a Dodger fan, my mom is a Braves fan....I even told her that Chipper Jones is the one Brave I wished would have been a Dodger...just a Great baseball player..and he ALWAYS looked the part...Congrats #respect 👏👏🤟✌
My favorite baseball player of all time. The reason I begged my mom at 6 years old to sign me up,for tee ball. The reason to this day I love the Atlanta Braves (and that says a lot given the fact I grew up in South Jersey where people live and breathe Philadelphia sports). There was no one other athlete who could pull me away from my Philadelphia allegiance, no football player, no basketball player, no hockey player. I'm a proud Chipper & Braves fan.
I love how his dad AND Bobby Cox can barely keep it together when he is complimenting them. They both have placed a lot of faith in him and to see it manifest and get the credit in return must be a beautiful feeling.
Thanks for the memories Chipper. I watched this whole speech and I'm glad to seen you live a few times growing up at Turner Field. Also, thank you for the shout out to Andruw Jones. It's a tragedy that he is not joining his fellow teammates in Cooperstown.
That Atlanta braves pitching trio was such a good pitching rotation and with chipper, fred mcgriff, andruw jones, and others on the offense the team was stacked
noticable issues after McGriff left. No amount of pitching solved the play off issues and everyone else always came up with a clutch hitter. He gave Braves that.
I named my puppy in 2015 Chipper ever year we watch this together since so he know who he is named after. The state of Georgia an me an my boy Chipper love you Chipper Jones unconditionally forever.
Braves Nation!! Great speech from Mr. Clutch, Mr. Rake, Mr. Atlanta Braves himself, Chipper Jones!! Congratulations, Chipper!! (I'm just getting around to this in 2020).
How is chipper Jones retired, in the hall of fame, and Grey. I remember when I was a kid I started watching baseball in 1998, yes I'm only 32, and I remember looking at Jones and he thinking looks like the typical adult. Maybe 30 years old When I watched him play with Sheffield in 2002, and I look back at those days and I'm like man chipper looked so young because now I'm 32 so when I was watching him play he was probably the same age or younger than I am now. It's crazy to see him out of baseball. It's all so crazy to watch these players start as kids, practically, at 18 years old and then see them retire in their late 30s and then go into the Hall of Fame in forties and fifties.
As a life long Braves fan myself, there were many other Braves players I liked seeing play more than C. Jones. Most notably, H. Aaron/D. Murphy/B. Horner/G. Maddux/G. Hubbard/P. Niekro/R.Gant/J.Lofton/T.Pendleton/G. Mathews/F. McGriff/A. Jones/M. Grissom. That said there is absolutely *no denying* his rightful place in Braves lore & or the Hall of Fame. I mean, the way he made the game look so damn easy & effortless was simply astounding to me. Very much in my humble opinion like the great Robinson Cano does these days. Before carelessly getting suspended this year that is, of course. Dummy !!! Anyway congrats from all of we Braves fans, Mr. Larry ‘Chipper’ Jones. For a honour that was/is *very well deserved.* GO BRAVOS !!!
American Patriot - You betcha, my friend. Ron Gant just so happens to be my favourite Braves player of All-Time, as well. Which is saying alot, considering I have been following the Bravos since the early 80’s.
Tee Dee I like Gant also. You must be a little older than me. I jumped on the bandwagon in 91 and got hooked on Braves baseball. Still enjoy watching the 92 nlcs game 7 with Bream sliding in ahead of the tag.
Ross Hoyt Same here, Red Sox fan but Chipper was my favorite player! Loved watching him especially from the left side. I was a righty but admired his ability to bat for both sides.
Chip, I would go through the braves line up in my back yard with my dad. This is also how i became a switch hitter. When we were up to you in the line up, I would ask "Dad, left or right?" and he would say "Well, thats for you to decide" Thanks and congrats Chipper, right where your supposed to be.
He actually does belong with the other guys he mentioned. He's top five best third basemen of all time. Gotta give the #1 spot to Mike Schmidt, though, something Chipper would freely admit, because he's a humble guy.
Funny thing about this was, as I was watching this live, I wondered to myself if he would mention Mantle at the exact moment that he began to talk about him.
What a nice and humble man you are Chipper..and God has blessed you beyond measure..but where's Don Mattingly, where's Steve Garvey, where's Mark McGuire, where's Manny Ramirez...? stop this foolishness HOF voters. C'mon man. These guys are legends! Sorry Chipper, but I'll bet deep down you know what I'm talking about⚾🇺🇲
Not bad for a guy who, in a 1991 issue of Baseball Cards Magazine was #1 on the C-C-C-Cold list, saying that he "will never be a major league star" while "Todd Van Poppel laughs all the way to the bank"!
True story: I attended Taylor High School where Chippers daddy was my JV basketball coach. Chipper was 6 or 7 years younger than we were so he was still in grade school. One game we were getting drilled and at half-time Coach Jones was letting us have it but good. "My God! Chipper could do better than this!" One of our better player, Pernell Crowder chimed up, "Then go get him, we need the help".
Your life and your career have to turn you into a prophet thank you parents immensely give them a big hug and all your other supports for my grandson's will have somebody to look up to and remember all things are possible even if you do cry and Mom had to come and get you you're blessed beyond words God keep you healthy the rest of your days good luck to you and your family and always you have friends in life that although we don't see you will always admire you be well on your journey God gave you his hands
Because he didn’t have a HOF career. He was AWESOME at the top of his game but he didn’t sustain quality play anywhere near long enough. And trust me, I’m aware of some other guys who got in (Baines) that absolutely shouldn’t have, but I don’t think that means we fix the problem by doubling down and repeating the mistake over and over again.
Brought a tear to my eye. Chipper was my favorite player growing up. I wore his #10 and high socks throughout little league and babe ruth. Congrats Chipper. You deserve it. And the 12 voters that didnt vote you in must be Mets or Phillies fans 😉
+B Tomlin He was my favorite too
Me too. He was a big reason I’m a die hard Braves fan today
Awesome, totally same here man. And your right, totally mets fans .
I’m not a Braves fun but a chipper fan. Always wore #10
Well said. My first little league team was the Braves and I thought being put at 3rd base just like my favorite player Chipper Jones was the coolest thing ever. I miss watching him play. He represented everything good about the game.

Probably the best HoF speech ever. What a legend and ambassador and gentleman. Much respect Chipper
great speech...class act chipper
What a beautiful speech! We love you CJ! We'll be forever grateful to call you a Brave for ETERNITY! #ThankYouChipper!
I must be getting old, I remember when Chipper was a rookie.
So do I. I was 5 years old.
You are old 🙄
I know right!! I was 16 years old when he made his debut in 1993
Chip is and always will be legend. Miss seeing number 10 batting third.
My favorite baseball player of all time. The reason I begged my mom at 6 years old to sign me up,for tee ball. The reason to this day I love the Atlanta Braves (and that says a lot given the fact I grew up in South Jersey where people live and breathe Philadelphia sports). salemram15 cool man. I was born and raised in Georgia. Im only 35 minuntes from Suntrust Park. Have you had an opportunity to go to a game here???
Jonathan Burgess nah man, not yet. Been to Turner field a few times, I still gotta check out sun trust
I'm from red Sox territory... The Jones Boys and Cox made me a lifelong Braves fan
As a cardinals fan I’ve always loved this dude idk what it is he’s just awesome but happy for you chip u deserve it
I love how his dad AND Bobby Cox can barely keep it together when he is complimenting them. They both have placed a lot of faith in him and to see it manifest and get the credit in return must be a beautiful feeling.
Congrats Chipper!! one of my all-time favorites! Best switch hitter since Mickey Mantle!!
When I was a kid, Chipper was my favorite player. I loved him. He has been an inspiration to me.
Go Chip & go Braves, congratulations you truly deserve this.
Chipper made the best speech out of all of the class. Surprised. Congrats Chipper.
Congrats to Chipper! Well deserved and had always be an inspiration on and off the field.
Oh the great memories, those Braves were the best 7:30 pm TBS, thank all of you guys what a team and memories !!!
Thank you chipper. You will always be my favorite baseball player.
Awesome speech including all those amazing players, that he played with, played against, beautiful stories
Good thing he mentioned McGriff. Should be in the HOF.
bfee20021 no doubt, the Crime Dawg is HOF
If for no other reason than having the prettiest swing I have ever seen.
noticable issues after McGriff left. No amount of pitching solved the play off issues and everyone else always came up with a clutch hitter. He gave Braves that.
Andruw too
He made it
My favorite player growing up. Thank you Dad for being a Braves fan.
I named my puppy in 2015 Chipper ever year we watch this together since so he know who he is named after. The state of Georgia an me an my boy Chipper love you Chipper Jones unconditionally forever.
I'm a Cardinal fan.....Chipper you are one of my favorites all time!!!!!!
Braves Nation!! Great speech from Mr. Clutch, Mr. Rake, Mr. Atlanta Braves himself, Chipper Jones!! Congratulations, Chipper!! (I'm just getting around to this in 2020).
I will never forget witnessing his last home run against the Phils 9/2/12 and his last at bat 10/5/12 for as long as I live
Greatest Player I've ever seen live! Seen two of his 468 HR's!
+Michael Linn Jr #Truth Chipper was great!
My favorite player all time
In my mind, the greatest Brave ever. There will never be another Chipper Jones.
Congratulations Chipper Jones! Thanks for all those good memories. God bless you and your family.
Soy fan de los Bravos de Atlanta, Chipper mi favorito. Felicitaciones!
Met him in 2006 and he signed 2 balls for me.1 separately and 1 from the whole team
Chipper played short stop on my Babe Ruth team. I played 1st base. He was a dedicated man who worked hard to get to this day. A good man and teammate.
one of the classiest and best players of his era and probably one of the five greatest switch hitters ever
So glad I was able to watch him play the game. My son wore number 10 the entire time he played the game!
Well Done Chipper. There will never be a better 3rd baseman than you.
Been a fan for 25 years. Hope to see 25 more.
I stopped watching the Braves for several years after Chipper left. It just wasn't the same without him.
Goat my favorite player growing up. He and John Smoltz is the reason I became a Braves fan.
My childhood hero. #10 will always be the GOAT in my eyes.
I cried so hard....we love you Chip!
Glad Chipper got inducted in HOF. One of the greatest Braves ever

Well deserved, Chipper. Was never a Braves fan, but what a player. Congratulations
He is now
This was a solid class.
was there….. incredible experience to be a witness
Congrats Chipper.
The jones boys!!! What an era.
11:20 Greg Maddux is the greatest pitcher of our era. Also, thanks for peeing on me in the shower when I was a rookie.
Tf???
As a life long Braves fan myself, there were many other Braves players I liked seeing play more than C. Jones. Most notably, H. Aaron/D. Murphy/B. Horner/G. Maddux/G. Hubbard/P. Tee Dee
You liked watching Glen Hubbard and Ron Gant more than Chipper? I guess we all got spoiled growing up with the Braves on TBS.
American Patriot - You betcha, my friend. Ron Gant just so happens to be my favourite Braves player of All-Time, as well. Which is saying alot, considering I have been following the Bravos since the early 80’s.
Tee Dee
I like Gant also. You must be a little older than me. I jumped on the bandwagon in 91 and got hooked on Braves baseball. Still enjoy watching the 92 nlcs game 7 with Bream sliding in ahead of the tag.
Tee Dee
Braves win Braves win. One of my favorite memories growing up.
Tee Dee Really??? you left out Chris Chambliss, Raphael Ramirez, Brett Butler, Claudell Washington , Bruce Benedict, & Steve Bedrosian
dude i forgot how awesome CHipper Jones is - enjoyed watching him play as a kid (RSox fan for lyfe tho)
Great speech Chipper! You deserve it! I love how Jim Thome looks like Randall Flag from the Stephen King movie The Stand. Lol
I’m A Die Hard Blue Jays Fan, But I Love Seeing Chipper Jones hit and Play
Para mí hay muchos tales como favorito :Dereck jeter ,Mariano Rivera ,Roberto Clemente ,Norlan Rayan .
Chipper, 🐥 Baby
Best lefty batting stance of all time. And he could hit for average and even power on the right side too.
It got real when he said “there’s nobody I trust more with my
Money and my family. =speaks volumes
What a great Speech...fair and good (n germany we get all about baseball a lttle later)
In this microphone he sounds like Joachin Phoenix in Walk the Line
He actually does belong with the other guys he mentioned. He's top five best third basemen of all time. Gotta give the #1 spot to Mike Schmidt, though, something Chipper would freely admit, because he's a humble guy.
From Hank Aaron to Dale Murphy to Chipper Jones....Go Bravos!..
congratulations to all the inductee's. now how about Pete Rose and the best DH Edgar Martinez!
Class act...also sounds exactly like Kenny Powers.
Great Dude! All the Way to the Hall of Fame! That good, clean Pierson Wind probably got him there!
Funny thing about this was, as I was watching this live, I wondered to myself if he would mention Mantle at the exact moment that he began to talk about him.
Thank You Chipper
Been waiting for this
Awesome
What a nice and humble man you are Chipper..and God has blessed you beyond measure..but where's Don Mattingly, where's Steve Garvey, where's Mark McGuire, where's Manny Ramirez...? stop this foolishness HOF voters. C'mon man. These guys are legends! Sorry Chipper, but I'll bet deep down you know what I'm talking about⚾🇺🇲
Class act
I love his respect for Jack Morris, but you can tell there was still some "Thanks a lot for game 7 in 91, jerk" in his voice lol
Always a brave fan !! Love this !!
Yes, he does belong here. Not all do!!!!!
chipper destroyed my mets
it was a pleasure growing up seeing chipper and our rivals destroy us all throughout the 90s
Not bad for a guy who, in a 1991 issue of Baseball Cards Magazine was #1 on the C-C-C-Cold list, saying that he "will never be a major league star" while "Todd Van Poppel laughs all the way to the bank"!
Most Excellent!
Loved that toe tap stance !
Chipper made me a baseball fan and a switch hitter I actually stop hitting righty out of high school and just hit lefty after that.
I hope you do well. Playing in College? Which division?
Great speech!
Thank God !!! He's the one that makes everything possible Amen !!! Glory to God !!!
🇺🇸 Congratulations Chipper 🇺🇸 Tomahawk Chop ‼️

One class act!
Congrats Chipper.
I gotta say, I don't quite get why Alan Trammel got in. Very good player, for sure, but HOF? I just don't see it.
Joel Stucki Agreed
Your life and your career have to turn you into a prophet thank you parents immensely give them a big hug and all your other supports for my grandson's will have somebody to look up to and remember all things are possible even if you do cry and Mom had to come and get you you're blessed beyond words God keep you healthy the rest of your days good luck to you and your family and always you have friends in life that although we don't see you will always admire you be well on your journey God gave you his hands
GOAT Brave
Why Dale Murphy never got inducted.
Al M. - Oh, he will. And that I will bet your life on, as well. 😋
Its rigged...
He definitely should be
Because he didn’t have a HOF career. He was AWESOME at the top of his game but he didn’t sustain quality play anywhere near long enough. And trust me, I’m aware of some other guys who got in (Baines) that absolutely shouldn’t have, but I don’t think that means we fix the problem by doubling down and

Damn he has a hot wife. Good taste!
Chipper is STILL a god. My two favorite baseball players have been George Brett and Chipper!
Dave Ewing mines is Ken Griffey jr and chipper.
@@arnola88gt awesome. have nothing but respect for Griffey Jr
Greg Maddux and Griffey Jr for me.
