- Two Hall of Famers sit-down, one who held a steering wheel, the other, held a bat. Dale Earnhardt Jr welcomes baseball legend, Chipper Jones, to the Download. Jones reveals who the biggest prankster in baseball was and tells the tale of one truly disgusting prank pulled in the Braves locker room.
Some of the greatest memories of my early 20s, were watching Braves games with my mom. She loves you, Chipper Jones! My brother was a tennis coach for some of the Cincinnati Reds player's wives, and one of them gave my brother player family seat tickets when mom was going to visit him for a week. So there's my mother, decked out in her Chipper Jones attire, sitting in the family seats of the Cincinnati Reds team, screaming her lungs out for the Braves. Lol
The mid to late 90s were amazing Braves years. Thanks for all of the great memories.
Reds were decent still too. Just not nearly as good as those Braves teams. Chipper, Andrew, Greg, John, and Tom.

I could listen to Chipper talk all day long. I had the opportunity to speak to him for a couple minutes when he took his family bowling one day. I managed the place near his home in Roswell and he would come in from time to time. It was around the time he made the change from 3B to LF. He signed an autograph for my oldest son who was only 10 years old at the time.
Chipper is one of my favorite athletes because of how he handled things on and off the field. Don’t remember him being controversial really. Just a solid excellent player and decent man.
My first and only MLB game was in Atlanta, and he hit a home run into left field pretty close to where I was sitting. I wasn't a braves fan, but a Chipper Jones fan.
Chipper is arguably the most popular Brave ever, next to Hank Aaron of course.

Love chipper. I remember being a huge Braves fan at age 13 in 1995 when chipper came up. I got his rookie card back then and still have it encased. Too bad baseball cards aren’t worth anything anymore.
they are if graded and taken to the whole 9's with appraisal... but it's a total pain in the butt...
You may want to look again. Cards in general are bringing more than they ever have now.
I have a Chipper Jones rookie card that he signed for me in Atlanta his second season. I know it's value,but will never let it go.

Loved watching the Braves as a kid in the 90s and Chipper was by far my favorite player growing up ... We moved from GA to CA in the mid 90s and I was still able to watch most of the games because they were on TBS ... Heck of a time to be a Braves fan

I know I'm getting old when Chipper is an old retired gray beard. I got his autograph several times as a kid back when he was playing for the Greenville Braves minor league team. So many of the stars for the 90's era Braves came thru there.
Growing up in Knoxville, The G Braves would play the Knoxville K-Jays at the time. Saw some amazing Braves players in Chipper, Kelsko, Javy Lopez just to name a few.

I remember he , Flaherty, and Cox getting tossed out of the game in Boston .
I was at a Braves Red Sox game in Fenway, I want to say in 2004 that I saw all get tossed. I remember it differently as Smoltz was on the mound and the Braves lost. Maybe it was a different game.

That is just baseball pranks. Relatively harmless fun. He never meant anything bad by it. Pretty nasty, but he meant nothing bad or devious.

I'll tell you a MLB prank. Paying these high salaries to athletes. For all you non financial folk, this is one of many signs that the US dollar has been lost it's value. There's so much currency creation that PRICE INFLATION has been showing up and will continue for years to come. Time to buy you some ASSETS with that currency while it's still possible. Gold and silver is great for wealth preservation.
