Two great players I grew up watching, played the game the right way, very deserving of the Hall!
Chipper Jones is the greatest switch hitter and greatest 3rd baseman to ever play the game. It was a pleasure to watch him play.
slow down there cowboy. I love Chippper, but you need to consider: Eddie Murray, Mickey Fuckin Mantle, Mike Schmidt, Wade Boggs, Brooks Robinson, George Brett. Stud and easy 1st ballot HOF which he got. For 3rd baseman, I put him 2nd after Mike Schmidt.
Just his opinion. No need for caveats.
@@FreakishPower third after Schmidt and Brett
@@nagantm441 Ok Schmidt #1, But more power than Brett, so more honestly, #2.
Gosh Thome is just a class act baseball player. He might be my favorite of all time, and man can he mash.
mash is the most perfect word for Thome. He wanted to kill every baseball with extreme prejudice. Strikeout, Walk or HR. Fuck defense.
I love them talking about the 95 series.
I grew up watching Chipper Jones and Jim Thome. Both great ball players and people. I knew Chipper Jones fairly well personally as his grandfather and grandmother was one of the pastors at the church i attended when i lived in Cleveland and was one of my family's closest friends . We flew down to Atlanta with his Grandparent to see him play at Turner Field back in 96'. He is a very humble person and was a very talented ballplayer.
What a great baseball convo. You can tell the amount of respect they have for each other
this was fascinating. 2 HOF dude hanging out sharing with us their thoughts. Hard to find better guys than Thome and Chipper.
OMG. This is so much fun to watch! What great players and great men!
Two of the best ever. Love the convo as well.
Oh man this is so weird because I can remember watching Chipper Jones, Javier Lopez, Ryan Klesko and Brian Hunter come up through Richmond back in the day when I was a boy. I was maybe 12 or 13 when my dad used to take me to the Diamond but man, when you saw those guys hit, even at that young age, you just knew they were going to be beasts. I remember Javy sent one over the left field foul pole by at least 50 feet and I was just in awe. It seemed like yesterday. Crazy how Chipper has gray hair now. What the fuck.
that mental game between pitchers and batters is why baseball is my favorite sport.
2 great hitters!
these two guys could talk for hours talking about baseball
I could listen to them all day.
Pretty fun to watch this candid conversation...especially for ppl from jersey who know how hellish it is to take the Lincoln Tunnel during the day lol
Jim Thome the last of the great Baseball players who loved the game played the right way no help like a few frauds such as barry bonds mark m. and other cheaters who will never be half the ball player and man that jim Thome is so happy for Jim For Playing the game the right way, in the future Hall of fame indutee Albert Pojols who i meet at a starbucks in galveston tx is our modern day great player who does things the right way no help with steriods i tould him i was proud of him for not using steriods and was routing for him to reach 600 homeruns and he did it Albert will be in the hall and i'm looking forward to seeing that
Thome is a real CLASS ACT!
Incredible knowledge here
This might be the greatest baseball convo ever. Actually, no might about it.
It seems that Thome is kinda star struck with Chipper. This is amazing to listen and watch.
Jerry Traveler I agree with you here and if I had to guess why it’s cause of the way Chipper always carried himself. Thome seems to be a very humbled individual and you heard him almost like apologize for bat flipping in a World Series lol. Love it
I know, right? But Thome was a fearsome power hitter in his own right. Him coming up in the 8th or 9th with men on was just trouble. Country strong power.
After seeing this, I think Jim Thome is also a hall of fame human being.
MY FAVORITE PLAYER OF ALL TIME...LARRY WAYNE CHIPPER JONES
You think any of these young major leaguers of today are watching and taking this in?
Is that Chipper Jones or James Hetfield???
YEEEEAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!
Thome is only eclipsed by albert at 1st
If I hear that stupid “hand of God” story one more time, I literally finna vomit.
