In a 19 year career, he never went more than 13 at bats without a hit. In a sport where hitters go on streaks and slumps all the time, take a moment to process that.
So glad the TBS Superstation broadcasted all the Braves games for all those years. My dads a huge Cardinals fan, but they were never on tv. Fell in love w/ the Braves watching them on TBS, what a fun team to watch. Reading all the comments after this 2021 Braves WS victory, I realized how many people were just like me, TBS truly made the Braves Americas Team. Chipper was my hero, i olayed 3rd base and he immediately caught my eye with the high socks. NOBODY in the 90s wore the long socks, i didn't realize until years and years later the high sicks were how they wore them originally lol. Thanks for the memories Chipper!
My favorite team is and forever will be the Yankees, a bit biased since I'm from the Bronx but my favorite player of all time is Chipper Jones. Always watched his games on TNT.
Maddux, Smoltz, Pendleton, et al, spoke more about divisional titles than their one championship, as if they felt compelled to explain why they failed to win more (because baseball is striking one round object with another round object and attempting to catch the first round object with an oversized piece of leather; unexpected stuff can and does happen). What good are divisional or league wins if you don’t get the whole enchilada? What did Fisk’s and Boone’s noteworthy homers really mean? Nothing, because their teams lost the World Series. On the other side of the lines, what about Jim Leyritz (who??) in ‘96 against the Braves? If I were a professional athlete I’d take one championship over a hundred playoff tier wins any day. Baseball, in my belief the greatest game on the planet, has its peculiar way of doling out fortune.
In Chicago we got TBS. So i got to see; magglio, frank thomas, konerko, carlos lee, jose valentin, ray Durham, and then chipper jones and andruw jones and the triple threat of pitchers. Wouldnt trade it for the world

+Ben I Agree. He was my favorite baseball player.
Wow. So, true for me too. The 90's Braves were my childhood. In Atlanta, we'd listen to Skip Caray's radio show and watch it all play out on TBS.
Chipper Jones was no joke
Yeah, ask the New York Mets
always had respect for Chippet Jones

One of the greatest ever
I was lucky enough to attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cooperstown NY.
Go Braves GO Chipper
I Remember the year he retired it was sad
Yankees fan and Betts is 10x better and no one cares about the Angels, but still Chipper is an absolute legend, hard to describe just how great he was
Go braves. So much to say.. but your voice needs to be on film.
Thank you Chipper.
Espn needs to pair Chipper with a good play by play guy who can make this serious side come out because he is brilliant
I'm a Braves fan
An actual Hall of Famer, as opposed to someone who got in but doesn't deserve it

Greatest AND I MEAN greatest switch hitter.
LLLLLAAAAAAARRRRRRRYYYYYYYY!!!
If it wasn't for chipper I wouldn't never have been a baseball fan
Everyone talks about Junior, but for my money, I’d take Chipper’s left handed swing over anyone
Damn we could use Chipper right now
Hey as a Mets fan you named your child Shea
Drop that Bass

Think how good he could of been if he did the steroids like Bonds, McGuire, Canseco, Sosa, and Rodriguez. Wait are they in the hall of fame?
They're some idiot's accuse Chipper of it, all because of that era.
Chipper jones does not seem to have aged well
As if that matters.
