    Great to see you back, Alistair. That Dolomite is a lovely wee motor. Can't wait to see her doing her thing again. I do wonder, and often, why English cars, or at least cars in England, with side draught carburetors are so hard to start. Our 81 Volvo 240DL Estate had a single side draught Zenith on the 2.1 litre. That car started first turn of the key every time, even at -40 degrees, whether the block heater was plugged in or not. Even Ma's 54 Hillman Minx and get even worse 58 Vauxhall Velox started properly at temperatures well below the freezing mark. They did argue a bit when the temperature dropped below -20°C, but they could be forgiven.

    I had a 1500HL in that colour, EBT923W. It was a lovely car but sadly scrapped in the early 2000s and replaced with a Sprint FRW180T.

    Used to have a 1500TC back in the 80s, I loved that car.

    Been looking forward to this for so long. Like a well smoked kipper...it takes time to perfect?. (Thats probably a rubbish comparison) but yeh excellent news! lol
