That sounded like a diesel. During that time GM converted 350 V8 into diesel into their large oldsmobiles. GM made a huge mistake doing that.

Absolutely identical in every respect to my first (£200) car in 1985. Lovely to see this. Don’t think I ever had fuel starvation as an issue. Fuel pump diaphragms going soggy, crap in the tank, as well as blocked fuel filters perhaps?
