I got out of the hospital after 5 days, from an accident when riding with a friend, and a guy ran a light before we even got to a different bud's and we T-boned it.
A friend of the family used to be an EMT or something like that I don't remember. But they had responded to an accident and they were transporting the person to the hospital. Be attentive and cautious at all times because not everyone follows the rules of the road."
Best advices I’ve received from my driving instructor: 1. Always assume that everyone on the road is an idiot: they might be drunk, on the phone, hallucinating, etc. He would laugh at me when I’d say ‘why do I need to look there if no car can possibly be there’ because real life doesn’t go according to rules. 2. When you drive, be prepared to press the brakes or turn to the side every. single. second. 100% attention and caution. Noticing something one second earlier can save your life. Maybe it helps someone else too 💛
thank you for the reminder! Sometimes we get so used to and comfortable driving that we don’t even think about being ready for what’s about to come. Watching these videos really does make one more cautions and think. 💚
I have 2 more to add: 1. The right of way should not include the right to die. AND 2. Always hesitate when your light turns green. Just 2-3 seconds of hesitation might save your life.

for real, all of the near accidents i have been in that were caused by others, i have never honked as i was focused on brakes and steering and avoiding the accident. i dont really even understand how you can honk and steer the car correctly in those situations. The horn is the last thing on my mind in a near collision.
Chris Van Herpe not really I usually have my foot on the gas pedal without actually pressing down on it. It’s a lot easier to roll your heal on to the brakes and try to correct someone else’s mistake then to beep at them and wait for them to react.
My foot has less travel and is on a pivot, my heel. My arm/hand has more travel to honk and I would be simultaneously losing one hand that I could steer with.
i was looking for yo comment 😂 i deadass got mad real life bc bro like you had ALL that room to swerve 😭🤦🏾♂️ i would've swerved and went bout my day 💯😂
Definitely somebody having a stroke, not super funny. I feel hella bad for people who have that happen because ignorant people always assume they're drunk
In that situation the only thing could’ve saved him if he swerved left into other lane, you got to problem solved in an instant like that or could cost you your life. In my Honda 100% if I reacted how he did I would’ve been dead.
That one seemed like a medical emergency or confused elderly or ridiculously high person. Because how else would you NOT know you are reversing like that, at that speed, into traffic?
I’m guessing it was an elderly person who was trying to go forward but put it accidentally in reverse, stepped on the accelerator and froze up. I think at a certain age like 75, everyone needs to take a driving test to see if they are still alright to drive, including a medical/cognitive test.
I used to love these compilations, just screaming at the drivers’ incompetence. Then I met someone who had a massive accident and has severe PTSD from it. These will never be the same.
Imagine not only getting into an accident but it's with an ambulance, I would probably not drive for a long time if that happened to me. Edit: Guys ambulances are allowed to run red lights when their sirens are on, just imagine if someone is dying from a heart attack and the driver is like "sorry I have to wait till this light turns green", same goes for cops and firefighters. Though I think they are also supposed to still be very careful and I think they are still the ones accountable if they get into a crash from their mistake. Also, thanks for the likes.

I drive manual so I never let myself blare the horn when things are about to escalate. There are more important places my hands should handle on than the horn at the most crucial times.
The Weeping Skull If they were to slam their breaks, it increases the chances of someone behind them slamming into them and making the crash way worse, I know because my grandfather slammed the breaks and some guy behind us slammed into us at 80ish mph and sent all three of us to the hospital, I was pretty okay besides the broken arm and glass in my head and back, my grandfather had a broken nose and two broken ribs, and the guy who hit us had glass thrown into his eye, fractured skull, and both arms broke, if my grandpa didn’t slam on the breaks, we would’ve been basically fine since we were only going 12 mph about to turn into a gas station. Hitting your breaks isn’t always the best option, which is why most people hit the horn and then the breaks, it alerts people behind them so they notice
The bus driver clip made me cry. Just think about how brave, selfless, and heroic that man is. That was incredible to watch. I’m so grateful for that bus driver. Anyone know who he is?

4:21 is really just an example of being a terrible driver and overcorrecting, not that the other driver is any less at fault. But this happens to me almost every single day in my truck and on my motorcycle. Stay calm and maintain your path, make a smooth and gentle adjustment and either speed up or slow down. Your horn is also an option.... Always assume you aren't seen and maintain situational awareness.
@@Kimi_Khaos The curtain airbag would have softened the impact for the back passenger. So she might be mostly fine, at least on that. Id also be weary of being in a car with that driver after that.
@@Knightyme the curtain only protects from the midchest up. The problem is the impact can sever your spinal column and/or damage anything below that. Had he his the door, instead of smashing right into my wheel, she might not be here today.
@@boldgaming9940 it's not that easy though. I lost control of a car on a twisting hilly road and 1) when you lose control, you panic. You see the car is going one way, so you counteract it, probably too much. You realize you've done it too much, so you counteract that too. Rinse and repeat until the crash. 2) it's not easy to regain control once it's lost. 3) when you're driving fast, like on a highway, you're far more likely to lose control. The car turned due to being bumped. He literally couldn't keep it straight after that.
Thats the new breed of kids. The road is thiers, vehicles are a nuisance. They slap at it..get stung and end up paralyzed or dead. Kids insist they dont exist, so keep teasing them..
I had a kid (14 or so) run out from behind a car in a queue on the other side of the road. He didn't look up the road in my direction, just ran straight into the front side of my car. I couldn't even see him because of the windscreen pillar until he actually ran into me. He jumped back up and said he didn't want to get in trouble with his parents and tried to run away!! Unfortunately everyone and their dog had just witnessed me "hit a kid with my car" but thankfully someone cornered him and forced him to stay until the paramedics had checked him over. He was completely fine, but I wasn't, had only been driving alone for a month or so, and the police treated me like a drunk criminal even after the breathalyser showed I was completely sober. Luckily I was only doing 20 or so as some idiot taxi driver had pulled out into traffic beforehand so we were just getting moving again. While I was pulled over waiting for the police to arrive, someone sped past at 40. Kid's lucky he didn't run out in front of that car instead of mine or he wouldn't have got back up. They just don't care anymore, aren't even taught to look both ways or even use proper crossings. Nutters.
one thing i’ve learned from driving, ALWAYS use your horn if you believe there’s a need. just today a trailer truck decided to stop on a blind turn, i drive a small car and i got halfway through the turn and slammed on my brakes, and blared my horn. your horn alerts drivers in front, behind, and people around you like ‘hey! pay attention!!’ and it can be a life saver. never be afraid to use it and listen to your gut.
Just got my license recently, and I’ve been binging these videos. It really helps you learn what NOT to do and expect the worst from people and how to possibly avoid idiots.
can we talk about the actual hero that stopped the guy from robbing an old lady's purse? actual legend edit: why the hell are y'all arguing over how i type?
The bus driver in the 35th video is an awesome person! He should be recognized for that act of kindness because very few people actually help in those situations.
one thing i notice is that people not only cant drive but also dont know how to do anything about preventing and avoiding an imminent crash aside from honking and freezing up.
Briana Cronmiller One day, I was in a car with my friend and she cut off a trailer to get to the lane next to it... We almost got hit because it was so close (she freaked out because we were gonna miss the exit).
why did those other people just pass him when they saw that too!!?? i thought people would stop and get out to help. im 17 and i’m a new driver but if i had the choice to help i wouldn’t think twice to stop and help.
3:07 time for a dashcam upgrade but also wtf was that van thinking? not only was the light red but there was an ambulance which isn’t exactly easy to miss like???
these kids are great examples of every kid i went to high school with. i refused to drive to school because people would simply walk without looking or would be wearing headphones and not hear cars coming.

@@nykeiawilson6051 I mean running out into the street without even looking is just beyond idiotic. The kids in this video are definitely old enough to know better.
8:48 pissed me off. Sure, that minivan made a mistake by re-entering the lane they went wide on, but the POV driver made a worse mistake by speeding AND being more concerned with honking than steering out of the way. It was definitely an easily avoided side swipe.
100% I was screaming in my head “slow down and move to the goddamn left you idiot!” either he has the reaction of a goddamn sloth of he wanted an accident
Yes, very easily avoidable. I have avoided a few collisions just by moving over or slowing down. I cringed so hard as the driver honks and does not move at all while speeding.
1:17 Actually, that was an intelligent move from the driver, tilt his car to the position of how the truck's trailer was approching to prevent the accident to be worst
@@twizzytoorich3776 if that happened before your eyes and you had less then 4 seconds to process and react it would be pretty difficult to make the right move in time it’s impressive he managed to redirect so quickly
@@Memesita101 Unfortunately a tire can blow at any time. No matter how many times you inspect it. Especially if you run over something that could instantly rupture the tire (Nails, potholes, etc). Tires on those trucks are under a lot of psi, since they handle a lot of weight. That is why it can be very dramatic when it goes like that. It can also be dangerous if the tire that ruptures is on the front axle where steering is at. Add onto the fact that it is a truck that weighs 50,000 plus pounds and is moving fast, that becomes a bad combination in that type of situation. That’s why in drivers ed they always say use 2 hands, just in case something like this happens and you have a more likely chance to gain back control. Unfortunately in a lot of cases for trucks with that kinda weight, once it happens it can be near impossible to correct, hence what you saw.
@@Memesita101 it’s impossible to not have a tire randomly pop no matter how many times you perfect it or check it. A lot of things can easily pop tires or just the tire popping out of unluck.

the ambulance was driving to fast, for crossing a intersection through red lights. i know this sounds terrible, but i'm myself a firetruck driver. emergency services goin through a red light always have full responcibility when this results in a accident

Thank God the ambulance landed up right at least! Imagine how much worse it would have been if it was upside down. Still horrible nonetheless

It's nuts how people's reaction speed to their horn is a hundred times faster than their reaction speed to the brakes or the steering wheel.
for real, all of the near accidents i have been in that were caused by others, i have never honked as i was focused on brakes and steering and avoiding the accident.
i dont really even understand how you can honk and steer the car correctly in those situations.

I’m guessing it was an elderly person who was trying to go forward but put it accidentally in reverse, stepped on the accelerator and froze up. I think at a certain age like 75, everyone needs to take a driving test to see if they are still alright to drive, including a medical/cognitive test.

Should definitely sue. If the truck is provided by the company they should always make sure their trucks are safe to drive.

Should be an eye opener, be ready for anything, be hyper aware of your surroundings, nothing is unexpected if you're paying attention. I've gotten to the point now where I can tell what another driver is about to do before they do it and it's saved my ass multiple times.
Bus driver jumping out for that old lady being mugged is the real mvp
15:22 "i wonder what its like being a fallen box."
_(falls out)_
"never mind."
"wait actually..."
_(falls out again)_
"yeah never mind."
How did it land back twice tho??
If there were no video I doubt ppl would believe it happened!😂😂
@@AccountTermed it's empty, either a cardboard box or some Styrofoam, either way, it's simply the low pressure in the slipstream of the van that keeps "sucking" it back. the only lucky part is how it actually lands pretty well in the back of the van
crazy how that happened lol
What's even crazy is that the driver would never know that happened
5:52 that is definitely a nightmare.
Hell yea there is little time to move out of the way I feel like this is how drunk drivers kill family’s.
1:17 too, truck took the whole road, no where to go
