Note that this is a compilation made with the videos i uploaded on this channel in 2019. So if you've been with me since the beginning of the year, you probably know all of these.
The watermark still says "Viral Car Videos" because i didn't re-edit them, so the video took only 4-5 hours to make, compared to the usually 10+ hours of work.
Happy New Year and drive safe!

True, but some of these semi vids are screwed up. A lot these guys are speeding, and considering how heavy their car is, they're the assholes. That's from personal experience. Sometimes its the other way around. One thing for sure, the video where he doesn't let the the driver over is screwed up. Your car is 30 ft long, and sometimes you don't expect a merge, shit happens. If youre in a semi let the person over. What's your endgame, you kill someone? Also, you're on the clock so you'll be fired, potentially arrested or sued.

The truck in front of me saw this happen and did the craziest and most impressive brake check I’ve ever witnessed. There was no decrease in distance between them, he just stopped creating more distance. Looking at it, relative to the front car, the distance didn't change a single bit during the "brake check". It was basically barely touching the petal so the brake light appeared, but didn't actually slow the car.
I think the fault of the vehicle crash falls entirely on the rear car for not even attempting to slow down but instead making a reckless maneuver.
If it was a brake check, it wasn't intended to be an insurance scam at the very least. Most likely the vehicle was being pressured into driving faster than was safe due to tailgating, and so slowed down slightly where the rear vehicle made an extremely risky maneuver instead of properly slowing down.

@@TheIT221 Theoretically, it's a good idea. Every once in a while during a long drive, tap the brakes to make sure they still work. If they don't, you now know before you needed to slow down or stop, which is the worst time to learn they've gone out.
Practically, a well-maintained car can very easily go its entire life without a catastrophic brake failure. It's a bit more of a concern for tractor trailers since they constantly carry heavy loads, but even then it's an uncommon thing at worst.
Of course, none of that matters in the slightest since nobody actually brake checks to check their brakes, they just treat the brake pedal as the horn for people behind them. I assume it stems from people stopping suddenly on foot to let someone walking behind them know they're too close without considering how the consequences of a collision differ between the two situations. And, of course, some people are just trying to scam your insurance company.

And going slow across the road in this case is actually worse, but that's all irrelevant. That would be like pulling out and stopping in front of someone who is going 60mph on a highway and saying "well, he was speeding, that's his fault for running into me". The person who enters the other driver's lane at any point is the one legally responsible for ensuring that he has clearance. This is directly out of the Drivers Safety Handbook. It's the law too. In 99.9% of cases, the driver that rear-ends another driver is found to be at fault by default. You are legally required to keep a safe braking distance from the vehicle in front of you, the only exception to this is if the person attempts to cause an accident as part of an insurance fraud scheme. Basically, unless the person in front of you is committing a crime, you are responsible if you rear-end them for any reason.

@@tomatop6754 It is every driver's obligation to avoid an accident to the best of their ability. The semi accelerated to close a gap that was open. And none of this nonsense about "right of way". It's a merge. In merges, the vehicle that is further behind yields. The vehicle that is on the left does not have a magical right to cut off those on the right.
Next, the semi declines to pull over after an accident, a clear violation. Then, the car passes in the chicken lane, a violation. Lastly, the car brakes gently, clearly giving the semi plenty of room to stop. However, the semi continues to accelerate towards the car for about a second before hitting the brakes, and doesn't appear to use full braking force to avoid the collision. Of course, it can be hard to tell, because semis can be really shit at braking, but it definitely looks like the semi could have braked harder to avoid the second collision.
In short, the car is definitely at fault for some of it, but the semi clearly takes most of the fault, especially because they did not signal an intent to pull over (presumably. It's possible the semi put on the hazards, but it does not look like that was the case).

I can't tell you how many times I've avoided accidents that would have been not at fault.
      People merging directly into me.
People turning right from the left turn lane, when I am in the right turn lane. (Not trucks)
People turning right in front of me when I had ride of way.
People are idiots. You can crash into all the idiots if you feel like it, or you could live longer, be alert, throw away your ego, and maybe not crash into them...
And don't think you are going to teach them a lesson by hitting them. Regardless of what you, the officer, the court, or the insurance company says, they will believe it was your fault til the day they die.

Well no, because most of these are semi trucks, and people aren’t giving them ample room to react. Not that a Semi truck driver cares, if they rear end a car they aren’t the ones that’ll be hurt.

    • @adityanair5613

honestly the tailgating and speeding past isnt bad, the law is that the left lane is only for passing, so the cop would be in the wrong, and most cases if a vehicle is not getting out of the way the car behind just goes a little closer so the car ahead can see them and move. (ofc tailgating really close for a long time is also bad) Speeding past is also okay because often cars just camp in the passing lane, and wont move even if you get close to them. But the brake check was completely unnecessary.

    • @iAmTheBuilding
      @iAmTheBuilding 2 года назад +28

@@adityanair5613 I disagree on severity. Speeding, tailgating, and brake checking are far worse but mostly out of precedence. They are also against the law. Though it is the law to move over (in most US States) when you are not passing there are far less issues with staying in the passing lane. While speeding, tailgating, and brake checking are frowned upon across the board. They also are more quantifiable, where staying in the passing lane can be subjective. Particularly in the clip where it looks like the cop had possibly just passed someone. Even in my state, which has a move over law, you have to congest about 12 cars before a cop would even consider pulling you over for riding in the passing lane.

It's even funnier considering where he lives, that's Juravinski Hospital he's walking to on Concession St in Hamilton, the town is full of big brains that will walk or ride their bikes right in front of you doing 60 and expect you to stop for them, best thing is being in a parking lot backing out of a spot, these bright boys will run across the lot to walk behind your car hoping you will hit them not paying attn, it's the electric scooter capitol of the world due to half the town losing their license for DUI or no insurance or license. Went to court there once, I was the only person out of 52 people in traffic court with a license and insurance that day. Crackheads and wanna be tough guys live in that town, they will tell you all day long how tough they are, never fight just talk you to death..

Pedestrians have the right of way, but this is a bit much, there is a crosswalk 50 feet ahead. I wonder if he expected the utility pole to yield to his right of way or whether he was interested in its warm embrace? Did the utility pole sweetly whisper in his ear, “I’ve been waiting for you”?
