Satwa rajas tamas are 3 gunas. Person in whom satwa Guna is dominant, is satwik, will be calm n peaceful. Person dominated by Rajas, is rajasik is restless, overactive and passionate. Person who is dominated by tamas, and is tamasic is lazy, dull, and prefer to remain inactive. Food can be segregated according to these three gunas. Of course satwik food is the preferred diet of the yogis, and should be everyone else's too if they wish to maintain good health.

Being Vegan alone won't make you healthy. You can eat rice only and that's also Satvik/Vegan but unhealthy. You will be deficient in nutrition and excess in internal fat. You can consume unhealthy vegetable oils on a daily basis and still be a Satvik!. So avoiding unhealthy foods and maintaining a balanced diet is important regardless of what ideology you are following.
Then there is the problem of intolerance. Sometimes it's the supposedly healthy foods which cause issues in our body. For example, every doctor and nutritionist will preach to you about the importance of fiber in our diet. But in some people, fiber can cause stomach issues, IBS etc!. Something in your diet is definitely causing issues.

Good point. What we usually eat offers good balanced nutrition. Our food consists of rice/roti, curry, lentils/legumes and curd.
Rice should be of 1/4 of your plate or 3 rotis. Rest of the plate fill with veg curry, dal(lentils/legumes) and curd. Once a while replace lentils and legumes with meat (no red meat), if you are non vegetarian.
Eat seasonal fruits. This is the best diet for all people.

Eat seasonal fruits means , summer u get mango, melons etc spring jackfruit, pineapple etc rainy season jamun, custard apple etc like that whole year u get fruits of that season. You can eat as per your need but don't over eat. Dryfruits u can eat roasted or soaked. But if you are eating normal diet dry fruits is not required. But u want to eat then eat very limited because it has high level of cholesterol. In dry fruits, almond and walnuts are better.

    The other side of this
I have a chronic disease and protein is super important to me. It's nigh-impossible for me to get my protein from veg sources as it requires me to eat a lot, which my body can't. Due to this, I am completely reliant on chicken, fish and eggs for my protein and nutrition.
Since switching to a non veg diet (50 percent of my meals are still veg), I have become the best physical version of myself.
I have good stamina, good strength in the gym, low body fat. There are days when I feel completely disease-free. Compared to this, my body had almost stopped functioning when I was on a complete vegetarian diet for a few months (was still getting protein through whey protein and sometimes, eggs).
Lesson is, you do you. Work with a dietitian to determine what works for you and what doesn't. Also have regular bloodwork done to see if you're lacking any minerals or vitamins in your body.

As a Food Scientist, I have some thoughts to share after watching this podcast. Cooking and processing accelerates digestion and absorption of essential minerals in the human body. Thermal treatment increases biological availability of proteins and makes them readily accessible for bodily functions. Minimally processed foods leads to bloating, indigestion, and celiac disease. 😅 I would love to hear what they guest speakers mean when they say foods that Mother Nature provide us are the most easily processed and digested by the gut.

Everything about body is so so much important.
Human body is so precious gift of god.
    So much attention it need.
    But but but......
we must think about the soul first, because we are soul and suffering for unlimited lifetime of 84 lakhs types of body,
the body, about which we are so concern, we are going to leave the body, one day,
instead the body needs so much attention
    Then what about soul!!!!
That are actually we and going to live for endless time
Then how much attention need our soul!!
Please think of it, as i just requesting to you.
Our main purpose should be based on the permanent .
For th purpose we need to care and give attention to our body.
If there is a big purpose then, we will not be distracted as out dear harsh ji and subah ji sayed.
    Radhey Radhey❤
Thank you so much for the session.

Hi Dr.Pal, thank you very very much for this podcast. Learnt a lot. I knew she years back that sugar is very addictive - equal to alcohol. But it's scary to know that i was wrong, meaning it's more addictive than even the drug - cocaine. People should really keep this in mind and not give sugary desserts to the kids.

What Harsha told us very correct, milk has lot more effect on skin issues, this is something which I experienced with my son, he has eczema and it will always come back whenever he eat any related to egg whites but while he is growing I noticed he had itching along with eczema, we tried whatever was given but one doctor told us 18months back to stop milk when I did slowly his itching and eczema related to milk disappeared slowly. He still get rashes only when he eat egg with egg white. Food has lot more effect on our bodies

Actually, Dr.Pal. To make majority of population to understand about good lifestyle, they need both the ayurvedic descriptions as well as your modern medical descriptions so that when both are aligned, Most people won’t have any reason to ignore it anymore. Ayurveda & Allopathy should collaborate to put “actual truth” of health and well being in front of everyone (not manipulating for commercial reasons). Your work is awesome, by the way! Totally selfless.

I admire both of them. And huge respect to Dr Pal for being grounded and for being open and willing to learn ❤ I have few things to say from my own journey and experience.
Initially, I only had white rice, but later I learned about unpolished rice (brown rice) and heard it is healthy. Taste-wise, I have no complaints; I actually enjoy brown rice, especially Kerala rice. I was happy thinking I was consuming a good amount of fiber, but then I learned about the presence of anti-nutrients in unpolished rice or millets. Additionally, some people's guts are sensitive to brown rice. It was suggested to soak and sprout to mitigate the effects of anti-nutrients in grains. Similarly, I went through a similar journey with vegetable peels. We used to peel vegetables at home until I learned that peels contain more fiber and nutrition. However, I also discovered that peels have anti-nutrients. Some advocate for consuming raw vegetables, while others advise against it.
I started consuming more vegetables than grains, and then I learned that eating fruits is more environmentally friendly, and humans are meant to eat fruits. However, concerns about pesticides in fruits led some to suggest that millets are a better option. Still, others argue that fully ripened seasonal fruits can counteract the effects of pesticides. While a sattvic diet is considered beneficial, practical issues arise, especially for those from normal middle-class families or when traveling and having to adapt to food provided at homestays.
Although it's not too difficult to eat healthily, practical issues sometimes override willpower, leading to consuming whatever is available, potentially resulting in severe gastric issues due to indigestion. This was my own experience after following a sattvic diet for seven months and then traveling.
So, what is the lesson learned? There are no hard and fast rules. Is brown rice healthier than white rice? Both have their pros and cons. Do we need fiber? Yes, but we also need to consider anti-nutrients. Can we eat everything that Mother Nature provides? No, as not all of it is edible. Even the brown rice provided by Mother Nature contains anti-nutrients, which protect the seed until it germinates. Hence, the practice of fermentation has evolved, involving soaking grains and fermenting to minimize the amount of anti-nutrients. This is why we make dosas and idlis with fermented batter for better bioavailability.
In conclusion, there is much to learn and unlearn on this journey, which is ultimately an individual experience.

Only because of his videos on millets and sunbath videos of Satvic movement my mother completely cured from rheumatoid arthritis. Before that she was talking lots of medicine since 3-4 years to covercome that disease but on the other hand she cured within 6-7 months by only eating millets and taking sunbath without taking medicine.

Can you describe sunbath regarding timings and how and what part of body should be exposed etc

    • @shwetakumari1828
      @shwetakumari1828 6 месяцев назад

Take sunbathing for 30-45 min. in a day it will be better if you take in morning from sun rise to 9 am -9:30 am, remember to avoid scorching sun light (afternoon).
Wear light white clothes and try to expose as much body part you can to the sun light. Remember to take sunbathing from both side of your body.
It will give better results if you take sunbathing after applying castor oil.

I thought eating frozen vegetables and fruits is better than fresh, bc it actually better preserves the nutrients when its flash freezed by the time the consumer buys it. I like a lot of their concepts about healthy eating but some things they say does not come from good research and knowledge and just blind knowledge.
