    We've used the Miller Multimatic 220 welder for almost a year now, and we've been very impressed. The high-frequency starts and AC & DC capabilities really open the horizons to more opportunities. We will be adding a water-cooled TIG torch very soon as the Miller wireless foot control.

    I just bought one with a new miller hood for $850. I just started my 2 year associates in welding technology. I'm I SMAW stick Plate this semester and I've done some really nice work this far. I bought this with my financial aid and I'm very blessed to have gotten it for such a amazing price. It is a very nice machine and I can't wait to learn all the processes and get my degree. This machine will make me bread and butter along the way. Miller nailed this machine hands down the best of the best! Thanks for the video. Now I got to save for a $1000 wireless foot petal 😂

    Great video. I have been a welder for 15 years . From small fab shop work to large scale fabrication to welding on bridges . I love how the inverter technology is giving us the option to have a AC/DC tig and mig in one machine that is such a small machine . I run large Lincoln’s on the shop floor and my service truck has a miller pipe pro 304 . I am not brand specific. Lincoln and miller both make a great machine but I think miller has taken the market with the 220 . I think I’m gonna have to purchase one for my home garage .

    I’m getting ready to start my ‘66 Mustang restore. I’m an engineer, but was a technician when I started out and did a fair amount of fabrication, so I know a little bit about MIG and TIG. Beyond auto restoration and repair, I live in the country and have tractors and toys, so I’m looking for a good welder to get. Was torn between the 215 a 220, and even looked at the 235, but after watching this I probably will go with the 220. The first project will be to fabricate up a cart. Mainly because Miller wants almost $600 for a simple square tube cart!?!

I think this sold me on the 220 along with the Bakers Gas video unpacking and comparing. Will I ever do stainless or aluminum? No clue, but sure don't want buy something that won't do it effectively and today learned that you really need AC Tig for that. Might be an expensive door stop at some point, but who hasn't dropped 3 grand on a computer at one time or another. lol

    I have had this welder a while now. This is hands down the best welder I have ever owned. I had a cheaper one and a buzz box welder before. On 240V this has power and is smooth as silk. Still learning Tig, but the MIG is wonderful, and the stick starts much better than my old one. My welding looks much much better with this and I actually look for opportunities to use it. It cost me a quite a bit, but in my opinion, as long as this lasts, it is very, very, well worth it. I have use a Miller 625 Plasma Cutter for a dozen or more years, and it still works minus a bunch of consumables and a few dings and scuffs on jobs. That is why I bought this Miller Welder. It is made in the country where I live as well, just a state over, which actually kind of makes me proud. Should Miller happen to see this, THANK YOU!

      I wouldn't try welding aluminum without the spool gun. THe wire is so soft it won't make it through every little curve in your liner. That's why the spool is right at your hand. I mean I guess you can try it but you're gonna be burning up a lot of tips because the wire will struggle to make its way through the liner.

Could not adjust a single thing and the only thing that worked was the gas flow when the trigger was pulled.... 7-8 weeks I've been told for a warranty repair... Anyone have any ideas? • @derekmoore1612
      @derekmoore1612 2 года назад +1

      For your everyday knowledge, I suggest that you look up the relations between amps, volts, and watts. It's a simple 3 piece equation. This will tell you what is required for a circuit. Length of the wire can play a small factor in higher voltage transmission, but will play a bigger factor in lower voltages. The lower the volts the harder it is to get the power through the line. For your specific situation here: There should be easy charts to find that will tell you what size wiring you need. Heck, any traditional store where you would buy wire could tell you what you need if that's easier for you. Hope you look into the equation; it's nice to know.

    • @jgren4048
      @jgren4048 Год назад +1

      Definitely look up the relationship of volts and amps, but also the wiring in your home is designed with certain insulation that allows the wire to get a certain temperature before burning up. The insulation of welding cables is not the same. Also time plays a part on how much heat is built up. Then, too the welding cables are pretty much open air which cools the wire faster
