  • Baker's Gas lines up three of the most popular Miller Electric multiprocess units. Multimatic 235, Multimatic 215 and the Multimatic 220 we review the differences and also talk about the not shown Multimatic 255. The big difference is the size, power requirements, duty cycle, screen size, TIG capability and price point. The 220 is the ONLY true multiprocess with AC TIG. The 235 and 215 have DC TIG capability. All three machines are rated at 3/8 for steel. The biggest difference is the duty cycle.
    Multimatic 215

    I'm considering the 220 for the versatility of the machine. some of the projects id like to build do require a fair amount of welding like tandem trailers. it makes me lean towards the 235 for the duty cycle increase but id hate to lose the ac tig for projects down the road. if im welding around 19.5V - 20V do you think welding larger fab projects would be too much for the 220? I'm not going to be welding long beads but once everything it tacked up there could be hours of weldout time... what are your thoughts?

    Great video. I’ve been considering one of these but I already have a Miller 250 (old machine) and a Diversion 180 with a pulse box by Jattus. Would there be any advantages to go with one of these machines? It is rare for me to weld anything thicker than 3/8” mig. Backup welder is a Hobart 140 because of the Miller 250 age and past industrial use. Thoughts? Great video btw

    • @BakersGas
      @BakersGas  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching! The new machines make a big difference. The obvious things are the size/portability, technology and newer consumables. The key things for us for you to consider is the set up time, versatility and ability to connect spoolguns. Auto-Set would make setting up for a weld quicker and being able to take the welder with you to another area of your shop/or completely different location could open up options for you. If you ever wanted to do aluminum the direct connection for a variety of spoolguns is a nice feature. If you want to call us or email us we can provide more information.

    Hey guys, i know nothing about the machines, but started at a heavy fab shop as a painter about a year ago, and its peaked my interest. Some of the guys let me use their machine to try out, and apparently i did very well, so id like to get one for home. I know id like a multi process, i wanna be able to TIG, and MIG, but idk the difference in ac and dc tig. Also, i can only use 110, and cannot upgrade wiring as i live in a 2 family house and do not have access to the main. So basically what is the difference in AC and DC TIG? And what is the best option for multi process at 110? Money is not a huge factor, but id like to stay under 4k. Thank you!

    • @BakersGas
      @BakersGas  3 года назад

      Hey! So if you want the ability to TIG weld aluminum in your multiprocess unit than you need to go 220! If your not needing/wanting to TIG (AC TIG) than the Multimatic 215 would be a good fit for you. Call us and we can help walk you through the little things and help you determine which is best for you. support@bakersgas.com or 877-930-5690 Thanks for watching!
