I’ve had one for about 2 years now and I am still super pleased with it. Replaced 3 machines with this one. Love it with my SP150 it will smoke aluminum and tig aluminum like a champ also. Good smooth machine I highly recommend it!
Thanks for commenting! Glad to hear you are having a good experience. Enjoy and let us know if you have any questions.
What about stainless steel?
I’ve had mine coming up on a year now, and I LOVE the thing. Quickset is awesome, especially when you are using a process you don’t do all the time. The ability to toggle from Tig to Mig by pressing the trigger or foot pedal, along with AC ability are the outstanding features.
Wanted to support my local welding store (if you don’t give them a chance on bigger items, they might not be there when you run out of gas or need a contact tip same day) but they were backordered.
Found Baker’s gas, and they were awesome. Called, and was speaking to someone who knew welding. Ordered one, and it shipped super promptly. A+ outfit to do business with.
Hey Jeff! Thanks for shopping with us and watching the video! We are a small business here in OH and appreciate the support!
Would you consider this a good welder for farm use. Plan on building a couple heavy duty tractor trailers and other small jobs aluminum tig rod holders and such
I can't believe the price jumped up $1,000 in the past year
We have never seen this many prices increases. We do have some promos going we try to get you the best deal we can!
Houses, gas, cars are all up, and $15/hr won’t get a person to show up to an unskilled easy job.
Hearing the prices in the videos and the seeing the price now . Wow. Looks like a great machine
@@davidpaul705 let us know when you are ready we have some great promos going and can answer any questions you have.
Every machine I have ever bought has been Miller and always flawless, but the pricing is astronomical compared to a year ago. I can sell my 10 yr old machines for more than I paid for em. Unreal
I’ve been saving up to get one of these. It will do everything I need in my home shop.
Awesome! Let us know if you have any questions! We do have a $300 gift card with purchase right now.
This is an awesome piece of equipment, my boss has one of them at the shop, and it does wonders
We love it! Thanks for watching!
I have the rebel AC/DC bought it for 2800 now 3800 new crazy
Question: The Miller website says it's Generator Compatible but doesn't specify inverter generator. Does this have something special inside it to protect from a standard generator?
Thanks for showing stick. Too often the sale is trying to be how many things the welder can do that I'll never use it for, and not the everyday.
Hey Jeff, thanks for watching. We just wanted to give an overview and highlight some of the most frequently asked questions. If you have any other questions let us know! Also if you need more info email us and we can help put together a package deal for you.
Your everyday is not the same as everyone else's. I have had this exact welder for 2 years and have never used the stick. AC/DC tig and mig. But, this video is spot on as far as quality. Obviously, I can't personally speak for stick, but this mofo welds great!!!
Using a 220 in class now it’s a burner for sure
Great video, have been shopping around for welders trying to narrow it down. This might be the one!!
It is the one! We love it! Let us know if you have any questions we have some great promos going right now!
I'm buying this one for sure. thanks for the informative video.
Thanks for watching! Let us know if you have any questions.
I use that same Miller helmet at my work. Need to get one for home.
What’s going on with the prices of these Miller machines ?
This is not a review it is a great advertisement for this machine. BTW I have one and love it.
Can you guys do an updated review and demo of the 235, there’s literally no videos or reviews other than the quick overview you guys do
Hey! Sure we will work on what! What do you want to see?
@@BakersGas it would be nice to see a full demo like the 220 video, it seems like the 235 doesn’t get talked about much
@@marloflores8325 sure we will see what we can do!
Will this machine be a good choice to weld stainless steel grills and mangals for shishkebab use? With 3-8mm thickness of stainless steel plates?
Could it be used out in the field working on some medium sized project like building a fence
Just got mine cant wait to put it to work
I've got two questions, I may have missed this information in the video.
1. Can these machines successfully run 6010? I have the 215 currently and it does not run a 6010 properly, but it can run a 6011.
2. Does the second gas solenoid engage for Aluminum MIG like it does for the TIG process? From what I gathered, the second solenoid automatically engages at the step of the pedal. I usually run my spool gun and TIG processes with 100% Argon. Then I use 92-8 mix for MIG and FCAW.
I inherited this very unit. Basically new as my father in law never used it. I don't know a damn thing about welding but I do want to learn as I have a lot of small projects around the house. Glad to learn I can use 110, as I don't have a 220 power source. Where do you suggest I start learning first?
Does it have HF start for ac/dc tig?
Which has a greater capacity? The Miller Multimatic 220 or the New Miller Dynasty 210 Reimagined ?They both are 200 Amp inverters correct? Are their limits for welding aluminum A/C the same?
These aren't in the same league. The Dynasty 210 is 3x as expensive (configured ready to weld) and has tons more features in the TIG settings. The Dynasty is a production TIG welding machine.
But to answer your question they have the same max amperage but different min amperage and duty cycles. Multimatic 220 is 20-210A, and Dynasty 210 1-210A. The Dynasty has a significantly higher duty cycle of 60% at 210A and 100% at 175A vs the Multimatic of 20% at 200A and 100% at 110A.
The Dynasty is also running a water cooler and water cooled TIG torch.
Have you tried argon helium mix on ac tig 110 ? Just curious if you could weld 1/4 aluminum with a little preheating
I own one of these units. It is nowhere near anything as load as it sounds on this video. I’m sure the mic is amplifying the noise.
Great video as always. I like the new video room!
Thank you Aaron! Hope you are enjoying your set up!
What amp circuit breaker is this ran off of? 40?
Thanks for the video. I am new what else besides the machine to get me started? Thinking of getting this next month.
Hey! Thanks for watching. The machine really does come with most of the big items. Only thing that it does not come with / or that we would recommend at the time of purchase would be a full spool of MIG wire, full consumable kit (MIG) and a cover if you want to protect your unit. I will link below but feel free to email us if you have questions.
Bundle Option for the 220 - bakersgas.com/products/essential1299-220bundle
Miller MDX Consumable Kit - bakersgas.com/products/mig-consumable-kit-for-miller-mdx-100-gun-030-035-wire
Everything you need to weld, except welding gas.
how long can you run it b-fore it shuts down from overheating the duty cycle, soon as it gets hot youl be resting more than welding with it???
Great Video! Can't wait for next one.
Question... living off grid, how would this unit work running off a 3500 watt Generator? Would slight fluctuation in generator power affect the out put of the Miller Multimatic?
3500 watts would be probably be a little too low to run any sizable welds. The manual calls for a 10,000 watt generator for the MM220. Also you have to be careful with generators making dirty power, you may need a generator with THD less than 5% to run the MM220. If you need an off grid rig I honestly recomend buying the Hobart Champion 225. It is a 10,000W generator as well as a high output stick welder. Perfect for off grid, only costs about $3,500, which is cheaper than the MM220
We would recommend a bit more power close to 10,000 watts. Also keep in mind that a generator is going to be dirty power but will work. Let us know if you have any other questions on the unit.
My Honda eu7000 runs this machine flawlessly. This inverter generator has as clean of power as you can get. I haven’t tried above 145 amps on 240v but doesn’t seem like an issue!
On 240 mig welding hardwire, at what settings would I be able to get close to 100% duty cycle?? I don’t know how to convert wire speed and voltage to amps… the machine only gives duty cycle parameters in amps.. I’ve been seeing 15 years and you don’t learn this stuff when the shop supplies everything
Is this better than the Fronius?
I bought mine just before the bigger price jump.
Real nice demos. Thank you.
I’d buy one if the prices hadnt increased over 1k since they came out! What a rip off!
We hear you. More price increases than we have ever seen.
I have a question. Are you using the kit that came with the machine or did you buy a different cup and tungsten. I can’t make my work for nothing.
Yes we are using the Weldcraft set up. If you want to get some new consumables reach out and we can make a few suggestions.
I currently have an XMT 304 cc/cv, with an S22 P12 feeder,a HF251D-1 Arc starter and a Miller spool gun looking to sell to get a more portable welder. I’m not a professional but would like something capable for farm and hobby use. Do you think this would fit the bill?
This is a great machine. I would not categorize as industrial. Feel free to call or email us and we can give you some more insight on your application.
awwwww man i cant wait to buy this thing man............just need about 2k more lol
Keep working my friend. You'll get it someday
We do offer financing :)
@@BakersGas thank you but,I'd rather save up without the extra interest and it owning me on payments lol
Can you tig weld aluminum with this machine?
Yes it can do AC TIG for aluminum
Yes you can AC TIG aluminum on this unit!
How do I find compatable clear gas lenses for this thing?
The Tig torch it comes with is a WP-17 type air cooled A150
do you have to have a mix tank and 1400 argon or can you just run 100 percent argon gas for mig and tig?
You can run 100% argon for mig and tig only for aluminum
Would someone mind explaining what he means by only getting 20 percent by using the 120 vs 60 percent duty cycle on a 220. Option seems to be to get a 220 extension cord. Any help or suggestions is massively appreciated! Also, great video guys!
The 220 power is going to let you weld longer. We do not suggest running on an extension cord unless you need to. If you only have 110 power you would just not be able to weld continuously as long.
At the same weld amperage, the duty cycle (Time you can weld vs the machine cool down) is different when using 120V power or 240V power. The duty cycle at 140A TIG is 30% on 120V and 50% on 240V, as one example. At 120A it is 60% on 120V and 100% on 240V.
On the fluxcore setting, can you use dual shielded flux?
You can use fluxcore wire with this machine. Just would need to change your drive rolls.
@@BakersGas Ever run dual shielded on it? If so how did it do?
@@JeffinTD yes you can, on the flux cored setting, every time you hit the trigger on the gun it opens the solenoid valve whether you have gas connected or not. i use it for dual shield at work and it runs soooooo nice
@@spencerbaldwin I knew it opened the valve on flux core but didn’t know anyone who’d actually done dual shield. Thanks for the reply!
Seems like an awesome machine ! Wish it was affordable..... Don't see how Miller can sell any of these machines, especially since the China models are taking over and there is a lot of good reviews on them.
Appreciate you watching. Super expensive to invest in equipment right now of any kind. Miller is known for quality, ease of use and longevity...all things the China models are not known for. :)
....and the Chinese brand don't make a AC/DC multi processors that I could find.
Any discount codes? I wanna order this
Yes we are doing a $300 gift card right now or message us and we can do $250 off!
Awesome
I want one but that fan is so loud 😂
I was about to bite the bullet and get this amazing machine. After the giant price jump.....its now biting a whole bunch of bullets. I have only owned Miller welders since the mid 90's.
Now....I'm out. Can't justify the cost.
Hey! We do have $250 off and some split pay options but totally understand. Let us know if you have any questions.

Would y’all suggest this or the 235?
You want AC tig, 220 your answer.
Hi! Thanks for watching. We would say 220 if you want the flexibility for 110/220 power and if you need/want AC TIG. The Multimatic 235 is going to be better for welding thicker material, higher duty cycle, a a bit larger and only 220 power. We did make a vide on the 235 and kind of where that fits if you want to check that out. I will link below for you:

Is this machine 220 volts?
Both 220 and 110 plugs are included. 110 reduces max output and duty cycle.
Amps...
Was this guy at PRI??? LOOKS LIKE THE GUY THAT SOLD ME.ONE OF THESE... 😮😮😅
This one will run 6010 for any whos wondering 👍
Not this gen 1. The new gen 2 220 that has a QR code when you open the lid or on the start screen when you start it up can do 6010. That is what is being sold now by Baker's Gas.
I’m very interesting
I’m glad to hear that buddy. Self confidence is important.

I'm looking for a portable good quality wire feeder this might be it but it doesn't look very portable. I think the machine is like 60 lb? I've tried Lincoln 210 MP garbage, miller multimatic 200 also garbage, does anyone have experience with a solid tested and proven wire feeder that can run .023 to .045 wire???
Does anybody know or recommend a German brand? I know the Germans don't f*** around when it comes to anything they make
Yes this is portable but agree at 60lbs you are not going to carry it very far :)
fronius 2200
With the latest price increase it no longer hobby machine. pricing teh hobby gut right out of espocally since tehy said no more price changes for this year then just took another one. I am looking at other machines at this point and I love my other Miller machine but to go up in price by over a thousand dollars since it came out is ridiculous

$4,199 plus tax ..
Hey a working class non millionaire can’t afford these prices.
Can you weld 6061 aluminum with this ?
Heck, no chance I'll be buying one of these in this lifetime. Price is through the roof. I can buy a quad for almost the same price as some of these welders. Only difference is I can make affordable payments on a quad, tools you can't.
You can also make money with tools
@@MrSirjud01 my garage and farm are full of tools. Carpentry tools. Believe me that was the worst career choice. Low pay heavy lifting all day and seeing the new apprentices nowadays I realize the trades are dead. No ambition anymore, no way to get people even on construction sites off their cell phones, plus the kids nowadays are so dang weak they can't carry a single sheet of OSB. Tools may make you money if you are young enough and hungry enough to chase the work
@@curtwarkentin2887 my welding shop does just fine. You are not far off with people and how they work though. But I am making a respectable living and it doesnt take long to make back the $4k this welder is all im saying here
That thing is noisy.
Miller welding set has the worse welding start in the planet, I bough miller and will never buy it again. Very poor machine
Thanks a great video
