    My first option out of a list of around 12 pistols - is the WALTHER PDP PRO SD with 9mm 18+1, Holosun 508T-RD-X2; and the Streamlight TLR-1HL. I spend several months and many hours on RUclips listening to what others have to say about performance and reliability. Went to the range and test fired it. All I kept saying was "HOLY SHIT.....WOW" and I was very impressed with my shot group (no not the side of a barn). I say around 25 feet and paper targets. As all the commentators and firearms' enthusiast - The Walther PDP PRO SD pistol (in my opinion) stands out as a pinnacle of modularity and versatility in the world of duty pistols. With an array of features catering to customization and adaptability, this firearm exemplifies innovation in design. I love how it fits in my hands and the esthetics. Here's what I think about it's Performance: The Walther PDP PRO SD pistol delivers on its promise (watch the many videos - yes! on RUclips) of being a duty-ready firearm. The combination of these features translates into a reliable and user-friendly shooting experience. The modularity not only enhances performance but also accommodates individual shooter preferences. Durability: Walther has a history of producing durable and reliable firearms, and the PDP PRO SD appears to continue this tradition. Quality materials and precision engineering contribute to the pistol's longevity, making it a reliable companion in various duty scenarios. Conclusion: The Walther PDP PRO SD pistol stands as a testament to the brand's commitment to innovation and user-centric design. Its modular features, including the Picatinny rail, optics-ready capability, reversible mag release, and various customization options, make it an excellent choice for those seeking a duty pistol that adapts to their unique needs. Walther has successfully combined versatility with performance, resulting in a firearm that meets the high standards expected of a duty pistol. LASTLY: I say to always check for the latest reviews and user feedback (RUclips) to ensure you get the latest up-to-date information on any weapon ....you paying for it. Might as well do your homework. - G😝🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪😜🤑🤑🤑

      Look at his table top test. It really isn't much weight difference. It's more like styling to show it is a different model or else one would miss it.

    I'm old enough now as a GenXer to remember when Glock was king and ammo was pretty much just ammo. I think it's fun to have so many options and see all of the experimental innovation that is taking place in the industry.

    I had that issue with the slide not locking back. I thought it was my grip. I made sure i wasnt riding the slide lock, but it still didnt lock back....i bought 10% stiffer mag springs from Ghost inc., it took care of the slide lock problem instantly and permanently.

    Meh, as far as weather goes (and ONLY that far) I don't think December in Oregon has anything to January in Alaska😁
    Good video and another quality offering from Walther.
    It's unfortunate that they are just that size of company where they can profitably market only two calibers here in the states, neither of which interest me much...that and their slight emphasis of competition arms over duty arms.
    Nice sidearm, Walthers are fun to shoot.

    I have a PDP FS 5" with brass backstrap, brass baseplates, brass magwell, DPM recoil system, and an overwatch trigger kit.
    Do you think it would be beneficial for me to get this polymer match version? The only obvious difference that i see would be the slide cuts.

  • @plantguy100

    Graham, regarding pistol accuracy, you've stated and most agree it's mostly about how well the shooter interfaces with the pistol in question. After shooting the Sig p320 x-Five Legion, I'm not so sure. In their promotional video, Sig states they did everything possible to make the gun accurate. They succeeded! I'm a far better shooter with the Sig than anything else I've shot. Granted, the Dawson Precision sights are one factor. So is the flat trigger and the longer barrel. The Walther PDP, which I admire, is perfect for comparison because they offer so many variants. Is it inherently unfair to compare a full size target pistol with others which have a different intended purpose? For example, can the full size PDP with a 4.5" or 5" barrel compare in accuracy to the Sig p320 X-five Legion? I've come to believe some pistols are simply more accurate than others and at least for me, more often than not, it's the Sig which takes the prize. Since I'm cheap, I hate to admit it, but maybe Sigs are worth the premium price? Love to have your thoughts on whether pistol accuracy is less about the brand and more about the size and features of the gun, whatever the brand.

    I have a hopefully not stupid question..I guess out of ignorance? Why is that there are big fireballs only 2 out of 3 loads as when you shot the Magtec ammo??

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  6 месяцев назад +3

      Likely slower-burning powder that wasn't done yet. I also film at a higher frame rate than most channels: resulting in less-ruch colors but a truer representation if what things look like.

    • @rod675
      @rod675 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@GBGuns Thanks. I've noticed that all the time in many videos I watch. I just wondered if it's inconsistency in powder loads maybe during manufacturing? Like I said, I'm kinda ignorant about such things. I learn so much from watching your reviews and many others, too.

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  6 месяцев назад +3

      @rod675 most channels film a lower frame rate for rich, beautiful colors. I sacrifice that to capture more of what's happening with the firearm. My videos are about the gun, not me looking cool.

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  6 месяцев назад +2

      @rod675 another factor of seeing flash or not is if the camera made a frame that moment or not. This is one reason why you'll see more flashes with a higher frame rate because there's a higher chance the camera took a picture in that moment.

  • @yankchef4067

    I don't really see the value add on this one over the pdp pro full size. Same barrel length, same grip, same magwell, same trigger... U get slide cuts and give up a threaded barrel and extra recoil spring for an extra couple hundred bucks.
