- Families of victims of the Parkland shooting share emotional impact statements before Nikolas Cruz' sentencing of life without parole. Cruz murdered 17 people in 2018 at Parkland’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Cruz could not be sentenced to death because the jury said it could not unanimously agree that he should be executed.

Calling Cruz an animal is an insult to animals.
Animals do horrible things to each other as well. For example did you know that when a Male lion takes over a new pride of female lionesses if there are ANY baby or young lions the NEW Male lion attacks them savagely and kills them. He does this because they are not his. They are from the older Male lion that he has ran off. So like in our world that would be like a nan man marrying a new wife with kids from another man and the new step father kills them. Animals are cruel as well.

One of the most disturbing things I heard during this trial is that the shooter would continue to shoot his victims multiple times even when they were on the ground either already dead or gravley injured. He deserves to never see the light of day again, I hope he'll never sleep properly ever.

I give the judge a lot of credit. She is on the verge of tears and she is holding it together. Scott was an elementary school classmate of mine on Long Island. Coincidentally, I live and work five minutes away from Stoneman Douglas. Didn't know he was down here in FL when it happened. My deepest condolences to the Beigel family, as well as all the other families affected by this.

God I'm crying so much right now. That was really powerful. Amazing how he delivered what he said and that judge is amazing and understanding too. That shooter needs to be in an El Salvador prison, they literally treat you like a caged animal over there.
He is most likely not even letting it bother him. He is a body with no soul. I lost my 22 year old son from a brain bleed last year. My heart is broken. So I work hard to make sure I don't lose my patients. The pain of losing my son is there, 24 hours a day. I know he is at peace and he sends me signs but I still cry every day. Very true however now a day there's so many young people in this mental health crisis and believe me the government is not doing anything at all. I have a son with mental health problem since the age of 16 and I've been trying to get him quality help but unfortunately no one really cares. The doctors or teachers. Mental health is an issue that people tend to ignore and there's a stima with it.

I lost my 28 year old daughter a few years back on October 27, 2014. It still seams like yesterday. The pain of losing a child is indescribable. I pray that these families quickly find the strength to remember their loved one with a smile. I pray they find peace… and I hope they can find a way to enjoy the rest of their lives; despite their grief.

Agreed! I remember a friend of mine from Singapore said in schools they showed folks in prison getting whipped with actual whips on their backs and when folks would pass out, they’d wake them and it again. She said it that it scared kids so much that everyone really tried to behave.
While it’s extreme, Singapore is super safe to travel in and in general. They are ruthless (ie death penalties by hanging and all) but it’s safe.

This tragedy has been a heart breaking story. And like many other cases, it is all about the rights of a criminal and not of the victims.This gentleman speaks for all of us who lost a loved one to a crime.

We should make murderers donate blood for every person they killed ×2.
Donate blood and keep track of it. When your donated blood saves a life, that counts as 1. Do this until they've saved twice the lives they've taken.
Wouldn't erase what they did but I like the idea of forcing them to give back to society. If some pos shot my kid, I would be somewhat at peace knowing that two people were saved as a result of my kid dying.

All I can say is this hurt father’s testimony hit me like a ton of bricks. The stories he told brought tears to my eyes. I can not even fathom the amount of pain that he and his family have to unfairly endure all because this evil demonic four eyed creature decided to take 17 innocent lives for no reason at all.

Absolutely captivating. I listened to every word this man said. He spoke with passion and pride about his son. And none of this forgiveness lark, he told that monster how he feels and what he hopes will happen to him, no holds barred. I hope these families find some peace with the end of this trial, knowing that he will never see the light of day again.
I was fortunate to watch him give his victim impact statement live and was stunned by how powerful his words were. The emotion poise and hand gestures were so impactful.
Scott biegel held the door open and one student testified that she felt he saved her. He is a hero and loved his students.
Scott’s family shared actually cctv footage of their son being murdered.
In all his pictures he radiated love and kindness. He touched so many and did not deserved to be murdered.
RIP to the 17 and sending love and healing to all injured and families.

Think about the two men nailed to the cross, one was mocking Jesus, and the other was telling JESUS wanted to be in the Kingdom with him. Now, think about this incident. Are they similar? Yes, you have one quiet and another angry? and what makes this sad is that you can feel his pain, as he is hurting himself as he goes on. It is one thing to be upset than being angry!
