The pacing on this video was perfect. You spent the perfect amount of time on each watch and kept things moving. So much so that it stood out to me. Please keep up the good work.
Interesting how this type of comment happened to be on a watch video.
Teddy is always like this. He’s a master at these videos. I love them.
Great video. This was such a nice change-up on the “cheaper alternative to” video style. That said, I think there is a 300 Casio G-Shock that is probably the next step up to the Casio at the end.
Great format. Entertaining and educational. I’m a fan of Tissot and Longines so thanks for the support.
Love the concept of this video! Keep it going, Teddy!
Great Video. Would definitely be interested in a similar showing going from the next level tier shown here to next level luxury. Kinda like entry level luxury -> mid/high level luxury
Thanks, Teddy! Really enjoyed this.
This is actually one of my fav videos! Well done.
Really enjoy your videos Teddy! Thank you for all the hard work and research you do.
Love the video, this is a very good approach for any collector strategy, congrats
Very fun video, good concept, hopefully you’ll do some more of this format!
The best watch channel ever. Teddy has a legendary unpretentious approach 👏🏽 that you just don't get on other platforms/channels. I bought my first luxury watch about two years ago tudor black bay heritage 41 blu. Considering buying a Mido baroncelli and Hamilton intra matic...
Loved this video. After all this time, you’re still coming up with great ideas for videos! Excited every time I get a notification for a new one.
You choose interesting topics. Thanks for another well structured and thorough piece
Really enjoy your video and learned a lot from them.
What a great thought problem to consider. Nice choices & options. Now i want to play along & see what watches
I would match up as Entry & The Next Level. Thanks!
I upgraded from my skx007 to my spb143 last spring and I absolutely LOVE it
That was a great video with astinishing options, thamks!!
Fantastic selection!, please make a second part!
Woah - that Glashutte Original you sneakily popped in there is gorgeous. Currently rocking an Omega DeVille and that GO might be a contender for my next piece… nice video!
Interesting concept for a video Teddy
Great idea for a video! That Junghans is a great looking piece. I love the minimalist dial and symmetry.
Your channel is a wonderful source of information! its really become a quality channel like a Proper movement!. This episode is exactly what i was hoping to see!!! Keep up the outstanding work man!
Great video teddy. Idk how you do it, but every time you put out a video I add another watch to my list
he gives me watch longings too, I would never have known how much I want an Oris pointer date except from Teddy.... curses, they are not cheap!
That’s kinda the point. He sells the watches he has on his site. These are ads. Really well done ads.
Love this kind of video. Take care Teddy
Favorite creator on RUclips, thanks teddy !
Awesome video I like the concept.
So glad to see you review the Spirit. It’s my absolute favorite watch of all time.
Another fantastic thoughtful analysis ✊🏾
Great job with the video Teddy! Your channel is what ignited a passion in me for watches. Thanks.
Great idea for a video. The Tissot reminds me of course of the discontinued Patek Phillipe 5791(?), maybe not quite as appealing as that grail warch-but attainable. Actually like it slightly better than the 'next step up' presented here.
Anyway, lots of great ideas here. Thank you.
awesome video as always Teddy
Still watching the video and I'm in love with the first watch! Smh Teddy ALWAYS has my number. Lol anyways back to the video! 😆
great video as always!
You come up with the most creative video ideas.
Great video!!!
Always the best videos 👊🏼👍🏼
your jacket and turtleneck combo is so classy!
Thoroughly enjoyed watching this video, great theme, different from the usual! Yes, pls do follow this up with another similar themed video, maybe on micro-brands, prob much more difficult on comparisons/levels but would be extremely interesting 🤔 😉👊
Definitely do more of these!!!!!
Love watching Teddy’s videos 😃very informative and I am learning a lot about watches which is my passion and hobby.
Great video like always
Good vid Teddy
amazing entry level collection Teddy....cheers
really that’s amazing 🤩…thanks Teddy …whatsapp you on the number u mentioned.
This is a great concept. Do 10 more like this one!
Good vid. It's a good format
Getting a Spirit in April, can’t wait for my first luxury watch!!!
Which one are you going for?
Definitely would love to see this for higher price ranges (1000/3000 & 3000/6000 maybe)
Great video idea Teddy, more please
Fun video, love to see one just for dress watches.
Fantastic buying guide
For me, the next-level upgrade for the Vostok Amphibia would definitely be the Doxa Sub. Both lines have polarizing designs, unique engineering, and military pedigree. And for the pop culture nerds, Doxa is Jacques Cousteau's preferred brand of watch, while the cinematic parody of him, Steve Zissou played by Bill Murray, wore a Vostok in Wes Anderson's Life Aquatic.
That bit about Life Aquatic is some top-tier trivia and further credit to Wes’ cleverness. Thanks!
This is a great video because it gives you more concrete pricing tiers.
That is, it is important to know where the value breakpoints are. Given a certain price point, knowing how much more money you should be looking to spend for the next tier is often a hard thing to initially figure out.
Using simple numbers: if you have a watch that retails for around $250, you probably won't get that much more value out of a similar watch for $500, but definitely would at around $1000.
Teaching the price breakpoints is vitally important for teaching new collectors how to evaluate value.
Honestly that Spirit is gorgeous. The diamond hour marker cutouts are nice. The fact that it’s a chronometer and has silicone balance spring with 5 yr warranty is a tremendous value. I think that watch could’ve cost $4000. But for it to be half that is great. The Hamilton is also a great alternative.
I totally agree, a sharp looking timepiece!
Thank you. Would love the Longines in the titanium version. But that outstanding crown is an absolute nogo. I lost crowns due to getting stuck in meshes of pullovers, curtains etc....
Even without all the stuff you say, the way you SHOW these watches is worth the time all by itself!
Great video
Definitely do more of these. This was very fun to watch and try to guess what the next watch would be. Of course Teddy mentions Max Bill :P hehehe
Great video. Thank you. I am interested in how to buy a used watch to step up a level or two on a budget.
Spot on with the skx to spb143, Teddy! Haha that’s exactly what i upgraded to. My recent upgrade has been the sje093 which is just lovely.
5:07 Speaking about the Mido Baroncelli: "I think this is a nice Mido ground..." Okay, I'll show myself out.... Excellent video as always, Teddy Baldassarre & Co!
Hit it right on the head, Teddy. Before even watching this I was between the Hamilton Khaki and the Longines Spirit. I went with Longines but they’re definitely the same customer.
I would only choose the Longines for the branding. But it is hard to compensate the huge price difference with the Hamilton.
You're gonna have to do a video on your jackets and outwear as well. Your style is impeccable!
Great video Teddy! The Junghans Max Bill Hand Wind in 34mm I feel would have been the next step up from that Marlin. I do love the auto though!
Great video, Teddy! Really original and a good change from the “affordable alternative”. Well done!
Actually Teddy I did the same upgrade last summer. I had the Hamilton Khaki Field mechanical "Pearl Harbor" edition the one that is featured on the movie with Ben Affleck and stepped up to the Spirit 40mm black in bracelet. Best choice ever!
Great idea for a video, and might I suggest it go even more granular: one new vid on ALL the diff next tier options for any one watch (ie keen to see the ones you passed over in making this vid)
Great topic and video! You could even do one with comments suggestions. For the Marlin I was thinking a Hamilton Intramatic...
I think you made an exaggerated jump from the Hamilton to the Longines Spirit. However, I love it...I just really like the Spirit. I am not surprised you bring this one up...I think you like it, too. Whenever you talk about it, you seem excited to present it. I trust your ideas...I am pretty sure there is a Longines Spirit in my futures. Enjoy your videos, Teddy.
Once again, a great idea, expertly realized, Teddy!
I recently started getting into watches ( unfortunately, because it's quite an expansive hobby).
My first watch that I'm wearing is the Hamilton scuba khaki model, with ruber straps and I would really like to buy some more. 😅
Love the inclusion of the Vostok Amphibia, and the Bulova suggestion! That's really funny because I was at my local watchmaker's, and I was wearing my Vostok Amphibia and he had never seen one before, and was fascinated by it, and then he pulled out a Bulova Mid-ships from behind the counter, new in box, to show me! What a coincidence!
To be honest all of those are great choices. While listening, I got a few ideas myself, so why not share them. SKX - Sinn U50, Orient Bambino - Frederique Constant Slimline/Hamilton Intramatic, Timex Marlin - Nomos Orion, Vostok - no idea it’s too weird, Hamilton Khaki - Serica 4512, Tissot PRX - Autodromo Group B, Casio - Yema LED. Price ranges are all around the place, still it’s a fun thought/memory exercise
I’m impressed by the Hamilton pulsar! Really nice research and work in this video 👍👍
In synopsis, the SPB239 is STILL my favorite. With a strong nod to the AWESOME Amphibia and timeless Casio. My World Time is literally my favorite watch right now ❤
Thanks Teddy 👍
Teddy,
Recently, your videos have been on fire.
The Watch Zealot
Wow that ML Aikon is beautiful. May need to put it on the list.
I am going to look for that Timex. That watch has a beautiful design.
Great video, I’ve been playing in the mid tier for some time and have no desire to move to the full luxury tier at $4000 plus. Most of my collection revolves around brands like Oris, Sinn, Hamilton, Steinhart, Christopher Ward, Junghans and NOMOS
You dont have to spend $4000 plus for a high tier luxury watch. Omega, GS, Brietling can be had at that price point. Its best to buy a Omega at $2000 to $3000 that will appreciate than any of the brands you mentioned.
@@chelious1973 you do if you have to convert that to Canadian dollars. It’s painful lol.
@@righton1. Jeez. Sorry. Was not aware you are dealing in Canadian. You can still get into some nice pieces at the $2000 to $3000 range US. Superocean, older Seamaster, Speedmaster, Carrera date and day date, Aquaracer, etc.
@@chelious1973 haha. For sure those are great. Holding out for a Tudor at the moment. Just have to save a little longer build up those loonies lol.
@@righton1. Tudor is a good choice. I have a BB heritage 41. Same as the 58 but bigger. Hard to beat it for the price.
Dude. That Jacket is so nice
The Longines Spirit is a stunner. Went to look at a blue dial conquest but was underwhelmed by it. The blue dial spirit though….’chefs kiss’
I got the 40mm blue spirit on leather for Christmas and it is stunning. The blue is so much nicer in person
@@sphinx9517 lucky you. The one I tried had the leather strap which is nice but a deployant one might be nicer. I’d go for the bracelet anyway.
The only thing I’m not 100% sold on is the date window/lack of a 3. If it was dateless or above the 6 it’d be a slam dunk for me.
@@markharrison2484 the longings titanium solves all your problems. No date window. You get the full 3. Price goes up a lot though
@@Sojourner88 yeah not sure it’s a premium worth paying.
@@markharrison2484 Longines just announced a 37mm with the date window moved to the 6'o clock. So you get the full 3 but lose the 6. Better symmetry though if the size fits. This might be ideal for more people given the long lugs on their designs.
Thanks Teddy great video topic! Delivery is one of the best on youtube. Teddy 2024
Love my Khaki Field Mechanical
Great video. An interesting historical fact about the Hamilton Pulsar: Gerald Ford wore it while he was president. According to some accounts, it caused a stir in the media because it was given to him as a gift by White House Legal Counsel Philip Buchen, who had received it for serving on the board of directors of the Star Watch Case Company, which manufactured the case for Hamilton. There was speculation that it exceeded the maximum gift value allowed by law which caused Ford to stop wearing it for a while until the hoopla died down. There is a famous New York Times photo of Ford wearing the watch while testifying to the House Judiciary Committee about Ford's pardon of Richard Nixon for any potential crimes related to his role in the Watergate scandal.
Great video! You should do a video going in the opposite direction. Here is an iconic luxury watch and its affordable alternative.
I have the Hamilton Khaki 41mm automatic, it goes with everything, just a simply change of the NATO strap I have it on.
That jacket is pretty dope.
That was 16mins of my time well spent. I enjoyed that . I had never heard of the Bulova mil ships for example and I recon I know a bit about watches. Praise where it's due . Regards Richard
Yo Teddy has an Azerbajan number LOL . Classy emojies from Mr Scammy McScammer . Edit . I won a prize and was suppose to dm Mr Baldassarre on his Azebarjan whats app . That message has now dissapeared I think
Agree wholeheartedly on the PSR
Ooooo...I like the look of that Mido watch. Very classy.
Great video, but nothing beats the Vostok!
Great topic, look forward to more of the same.
Thanks. Lovely idea to suggest the next step up from an entry level. Appreciate especially the Bambino to Mido Baroncelli. You found indeed a watch not under the spotlight
Nope, MIDO looks cheaper then a 50$ Casio. It's an awful upgrade lol
@@dawidniklas9140 you kidding right? Guess you’ve never seen a Mido
To me Tissot Le Locle looks way better than that mido, but to each their own.
@@dawidniklas9140 well Tissot is a totally different story. That’s up to your taste of course.I just can’t agree if you put Mido under a Casio.
Man you pegged the Hamilton and Longines combo perfectly. My first real watch was the Hamilton Khaki Murph, and now I'm deeply considering the Longines Spirit 40mm Prestige with the black dial. Great video!
I have the khaki field and I like the Murph look. Do you recommend?
I am trying to make up my mind between the Hamilton Khaki field automatic and the Longines Spirit, both in black dial. Makes it hard to decide because of the huge price gap!
If the Mido Baroncelli was 36mm I'd definitely have one. Great suggestion.
I've always liked the idea of a watch that simply tells the time.
A watch with simple baton indices, domed crystal, a bracelet, lume, and at least 100m WR. A go anywhere, simple watch.
Casio OCW-S100, Christopher Ward C63 Sealander, Rolex Oyster Perpetual. These come to mind.
Teddy, this was a great video!!
I thought you would choose a SINN as an upgrade from the Hamilton ;)
Hello Teddy! What are your thoughts on the Longines Flagship Heritage? Keep those great videos coming man. 👍
Teddy with the SPICE to close the video
thanks teddy
Good video as always! Also, where is the green jacket from?
