And less torque every time the HP increases. I understand all the racing regulations and CC classes, but it would be nice to actually keep or increase torque, while the HP goes up. Broadening torque is what was badly needed on this bike, so that's a plus.
Where have you seen that? I've had my 899 and V4 baseline dynod before mods and both were very well in line with the factory numbers. German brands tend to be a bit conservative with numbers so I'd imagine this bike is over the claimed 209. My last three cars 2 Audis and a BMW all dynod higher than advertised. (all numbers corrected for crank hp and the type of dyno factored in, obviously)
Imagine dedicating years of your life to one honerable job, with a tangible output of work. Imagine the satisfaction of feeling like an invaluable piece of the machine you have made. Imagine making a relevant, invigorating product, for the whole world to enjoy. Rarer each passing day. I toast in thanks, to that German man's love of his job.
Nice chap, you can tell he knows these bikes from top to bottom. Wasn't sure when this was leaked but it's growing on me. That old sharky S1000RR will always be special though
@Nanderlizer Nanderlizer i love those comments like your "is a bit lacking compared with other bikes" Yeah, why dont you start saying which bikes is the bmw lacking?? This bike is perfect, and far better than Ninja´s which dont have LED lights and TFT screen and grip heaters...
I hate to break it to you but LED lights and grip heaters can be added to any bike for pennies. The TFT screen makes zero difference to the performance of the bike. I agree this bike looks like a sweet machine (even though I think it's subjectively ugly), but it's not the lights or the grip heaters that make it awesome. You can get all those features on a fucking scooter 😂
@@DarwinAllen You CANT install LEDS in a ninja, you CANT install a TFT screen in a NINJA which leads all the functions of the bike.. And you CANT lower the price of a Ninja to less than 19.000 euros. And im not talking about performance because its obvious (at least for everybody normal and rational ) that BMW is superior on performance than a Ninja.
@@Big1_ calm down, you can put LED bulbs or even full aftermarket assemblies in almost any common bike. And no kidding this bike is better than a Ninja - that's not setting the bar very high, but the headlights and gauge cluster are not the defining reasons why. You don't sound like someone that does much actual riding.
These interviews are such a welcome change from the usual ones that manage very little other than getting the spokesperson to just repeat what's on the press release. Great job Chris.
couldn't get near it yesterday :( was blown away by how much attention this was getting! was expecting the Italians and their wings to be getting the love. Will just have to buy one :)
Yeah plus the motor replacement situation. An even more interesting video I'd like to see is the Panigale R with the claimed 230+ hp race exhaust against the HP4 Race. HP4 Race will win for sure since it's way lighter and track-only, but I'm wondering what the margin is as far as lap times and fun factor. BMW really needs something street-legal in the middle here I think. An M1RR (or something like that since they'er ditching the HP nomenclature) with more ponies and more exclusive materials / components would be awesome.
I am an 1198 owner and I've been waiting for the new style of Ducati, and its here. However, several people have complained about the heat from the engine. At the same time, while waiting for a new Ducati, I've been waiting for a new style of BMW. I think your new S1000RR (M) bike looks good, and I am very interested. Thanks for giving a meaningful interview/video. Keep up the good work
One of best interview and review of new S1000RR. Straight to the points explained all details what regular consumers would like to know...asked right questions...Loved it you guys should do more of this.
They switched from ''HP'' to ''M''... It kinda reminds me of a BMW 1/2/3 series with M optik bumpers and other visual performance upgrades. HP was at least a synonym for performance.
I love the look of that symmetrical front end - so glad Sepp pushed hard for that one....lovin' the looks of the sports Beemer now....nice vid, thanks for posting gents!
Sepp is a great advocate for the RR, he knows his stuff fully and comes across as very enthusiastic (as much as Germans can lol). looking forward to 44Teeth and Baron doing their reviews on the new M model.
Perfect German execution... “the target was...”, and so they just simply delivered. This will be the bike to beat again in this class! The weight reductions alone are super. Also. I love the new lights!
I love the old design (I have a GS which does asymmetrical like a pro) , but I'd be thrilled with any RR from the first to the most recent. Brilliant machine.
One of the best most informative interviews I've seen for a while. Askid him where the next hypescorts tourer (k1600s?)is coming g from. There are several thousand k12 and k13s riders looking for their next bike....
I personally think that this is the best looking bike of the new gens. And as far as performance goes, I'd be surprised if it falls short in any department.
Great channel, found it by seeing baron’s videos come up on my feed. Im 2 weeks in to bike and license ownership and in my opinion you guys are both great ambassadors for the enjoyment of bikes. I look forward to seeing more content, cheers 👍
This guy is one of the few "company suits" I'm willing to hear what he's got say about his product . . . he sounds very passionate and proud. Slow clap applause for you Sr. ! Not feeling the switch from HP to DOUCHY M ! SO MANY FRIGGING CHOICES on the screen ! LOL. I want the WTF/ALIEN FACE back !
The rear lights make perfect sense for track being able to whip it all off in one. However for the road and the fact that they are integrated into the tail tidy means until someone develops a really nice aftermarket system either with a smaller tail tidy or indeed a completely integrated light fitting you have to deal with that huge standard one
Would be cool if we could get a detailed explanation from other manufacturer's flagship bikes too, it's quite fascinating how much detail goes in making these bikes
I liked the asymmetrical face, but this new one is a thing of beauty. Thanks for stopping to shake my hand and chat on Sunday when I called you Chris. I got a bit star struck and started babbling, so I apologise for that 🤩🤣
Ducati is more expensive and why you want a ducati when you can´t finish this bike? And it will be under 19.000 euros!!! Ducati maybe is around 24.000 or more dude!! with those extra 6000 euros you can remap the bmw, get a fully exhaust system and buy 3 pairs of diablo rosso for 5 years!! Demm BMW!!
Had a look yesterday at the show....love the look of the bike and it'll no doubt be fabulous.. .but.......beautiful swingarm? No - it looks to weedy, like something off an ER6f 😮. And not really a fan of the tail/brakelights integrated in the indicators on the rear.
Looks like a great build for my tastes. I veered into Italian world after a couple of BMWs, but in a couple of years time I may find my way back into German stuff. Good job Bavarian friends !
So glad they went symmetrical on the front, down with the lop siddedness! On a serious note, this looks to be a fantastic bike. I'm a yammy boy at heart, but BMW look to have made a bloody good bike here
Looks good there’s one at my dealership here in Devon in a couple of weeks so I look forward to having a gander. I just finished putting my 18 away for the winter and I just adore the look of it. Hopefully the 19 has that wow factor for me then I may change up in 18 months time. Cool vids as always 👌🏼
PLEASE BMW if you're listening, make a 600cc version of this bike! Not all of us want all that power for the roads or want to spend $16k+ on a motorcycle.
The German brands do auto/moto so well, they really suck you in to their little world of goodness. I like the brand move to M badging, headlight design, and how they just seem to think about everything.

What most people are missing is what can be a really serious problem with 2019 S1000RR. It is front geometry of the bike. Trail - 93.9mm and forks angle 23.1 degrees. This is very wrong for anyone who plans to use it for racing or "inspired" road riding. These numbers will give you very unstable bike which handles great at low speed, but will be very unstable at high speed. Prone to tank slappers and etc. Proper front geometry for fast bike like this lays somewhere around 100 to 110mm trail and 25 to 26 degrees of fork angle. In my opinion this may be the major problem with new S1000RR.
