I ordered my S1000RR m package in August 2020 mainly based on your (and 44theeth's) great reviews rides of this bike. Those video's are well worth watching too if anyone is thinking of buying. Sad but understandable you did not buy this long termer. At 64 years old I am still loving my 2021 and have 6,800km up on it now which is not bad when its competing with 5 other motor bikes, numerous pedal bikes, several classic cars and my Landcruiser for my attention. Never gave a hint of trouble either and still looks as new as it did when delivered.
To quote Alfred Lord Tennyson - ' Tis Better To Have Loved And Lost Than Never To Have Loved At All ' sums up your dilemma,as good a Bike as the BMW is i think you made the right decision, the H2 has much more Kudos.
Nice vid Pal! First off, it’s a crime you’re not already at 100,000 subs! Second, I was gutted when you lost that 360 camera! Can’t believe you caught it flying off into that countryside abyss, when in post production! But then double gutted when you said she’s going back. I’ve heard you say nothing but amazing things about her, you really enjoyed that 6 months together, and with Greg getting the new Gixxer. I thought you’d reveal you’d bought it! And been litre bike brothers in law! Not to be, I totally understand your plight, you can’t have them all, at least you’ve got a game plan for the H2. She’s a real head turner as well. Thanks so much for all the content you’ve produced with this bike. I’ve enjoyed every single IG post, and RUclips video! That’s one of the main reasons I decided to pull the trigger, and buy my S1000 this past summer. #TeamLCR
Thanks Michael, yes it's been a super tough decision and actually I've changed my mind so many times in the past month! I could very well be making a big mistake, but I thought if I do change my mind I will buy a non Msport next year, yes no carbon wheels but still dam good and similar money to this! Thanks for all your support buddy and enjoy that single R 😎
Great coverage of this bike Chopsie. Your reviews helped me decide on my next bike, I should be picking my S1000RR up this week hopefully. I couldn't justify the extra price of the M Sport, but I did get the Sport variant in Black, which gives me the electronics/suspension I wanted at least. Sad to see her go from your channel, but totally understand the choice. Great vid.
Have this predicament atm. I guess the M1K is meant to be tuned and slapped with a full exhaust ect to get the most of it for the track. The S1K just has a bit less bling and the engineering on the engine isn’t as solid for the race teams. But we all want the M don’t we for the bragging rights let’s be honest.
Pull the rubber back on the left grip right next to the switch wheel and you’ll find the screw to tighten and the fork that’s usually just grease from the production of the forks.
Weeping fork is the packing grease for the fork seal only. The melting point of the grease is met quite easily through use. It is NOT losing any fork oil.
Hey Chopsie. It's hard to believe that you don't have more subscribers. I watch a lot of motorcycle vloggers and your channel is just about my favorite. Thanks for all of your content and good luck on the 100,000.
Brilliant to get your final overview of the bike. There may be one finding a new garage off the back of your recommendation. Your reviews are simply outstanding. Keep up the great work.
I'm a utilitarian sort of bloke, so I'd be keeping the one I'd ride most -the RR. If I had an H2, I'd have to get her out of her very own bedroom every time I wanted to ride. Too much hassle.
My wife and I have the same bike and I recently fitted some HeliBars on them and it has transformed the bike to be an even better handle and more comfortable bike. You should give them a try. They raise the handle bars by ~1inch from standard. Best mod so far 👌 Question: have done a review on the saddle bags? What make are they? Also awesome content on your channel 💯
I would have thought the BMW switchgear would be illuminated? KTM and Triumph switchgear on their new models is. With so many buttons and switches seeing them in the dark is a must imho.
Difficult though the decision was, you made the right one. In a couple of years there will be another S1RR that will make this one obsolete, but the H2 will always be the H2.
Great vid 👍 Buy the BMW, it's an amazing bike in every way. The H2 has class, uniqueness and is one hell of a head Turner.... but the BMW. Its just perfect. And listening to your love for the BMW, I think you'll be riding it a lot more if you owned it over the H2. That said I'd love to own the H2 SX SE Can you go back to the road and look in the field for the 360?
Got to say chopssee your the best motorcycle u tuber that explains how a bike feels watching u it like I'm riding with u on the same bike even though I only got a cbr 125r
Super vid Chopsy as always. I am looking to replace my Aprilia in 2022 and had not really considered the M Sport until now. Big decisions and rides to have next year I think. Great real world insight. Really enjoyed the series and good luck on your quest to 100k. You really deserve it. We certainly have enjoyed your content over the last 7 years.
A top-box will really help with the practicality on the H2, that's where I'd start... followed by bar nuffs as its starting to get chilly. I'll show myself out...
Another top video - I'm amazed you're not already at 100k subs, as you always produce amazing quality content; bikers all over the country (and world) would do well to follow you on here. So best of luck hitting 100k mate! Sad the S1000RR is off - such a lovely bike, but the H2 is just that bit more special, and as someone else said; is unlikely to be made again. So I for one, think you made the right choice - at least we'll have the Pasty video to keep going back to :-D Here's to the next chapter!
Dayummm, I love my 21 Tuono V4 but you are making me believe I need an S1000rr M package as well 🤷🏻♂️ Like you, there is no way I’m getting rid of my V4. That roar is in a league of its own 🥰
Great post👍🏻. The BMW warranty service for a new or used bike, the two year one is fantastic. HOWEVER stay clear of the extended BMW warranty it's not the same by any means, different company & basically jack all is covered. Message ends.
I think you made the right choice a friend of mine started have real big problems with their rr and is trying to hand it back, and nothing I’ve ever ridden has felt anything like a supercharged Kawasaki, every time I ride my H2SX it takes a bit to come to terms with how it goes after riding my other bike!
My R1250R has similar front forks (hardware at least) and they appeared to have the same “weeping”. My dealer told me BMW can go overboard with grease under the dustcaps and it would stop after 12 months. Sure enough, they’ve been clean ever since.
If you love it sure buy it. I had one for a year but I’ll be honest I ended up getting an h2 and it’s next level. It will always be special and get the heart pounding. If you love it and can keep the h2 sure. But don’t let that h2 go you will regret it especially after putting so much time and work into it. If this was about practicality we would all be driving cars let’s be honest.
Yes that's it, the RR is incredible but just doesn't have the same wow factor as the H2. I can allways get another RR, even if its the sport. I could never afford another H2
I’d be curious to try the S1000RR because of how much everyone says it’s a “streetable” sport bike but the only time I rode a sport bike it was a miserable experience. I was so uncomfortable, the handlebars would’ve served the same amount of purpose if they were locked straight when at slow speeds, the leaned forward position made my neck feel like I was starring at the sky no matter how much I tried to grip the tank and sit as straight as possible. I’ll be honest. I wouldn’t even want to have that experience on a track. I’d rather be beaten up by the wind on a nice comfy naked bike.
This channel deserves more subscribers... Good balance of entertaining content and reviews without the feeling of unlimited cash to throw at it. It gives it an earthy nature that feels close to the average enthusiast. Keep going. I would have kept the H2 as well, that RR is a beauty, though.
Another great review from LCR! I’ve just ordered an m sport (with m endurance chain) after a long test ride followed by watching this series of LCR reviews several times! I even find myself humming away to the intro now 😂Keep up the good work mate.
I know the exact stretch of road where your camera went AWOL which I ride on quite often, it looks as though it launched over the hedge but I’ll have a gander next time I’m passing. Definitely the H2 it’s already a classic and not to take anything away from the BMW, but that Kawasaki is very special. BMW presumably accept their bike back with your alterations in place or do you return it to stock? As always a great channel Chops and I hope you get the subs up and over 100k mark, you’ve worked hard👍
As a fellow H2 owner, you made the right decision. The H just resonates in your soul when you are riding. I enjoy it most alone at night on the empty roads around the Pacific Northwest. Nothing feeds the beast inside like an H2.
While the right number of motorbikes is always “One More”, I think you made the right decision. The H2 is unique and too special to send down the road.
If you pull the grip back you can see the screw and it works loose, just needs tightening, on the forks they pack them with grease and always seem to be the top one when on the side stand seem to weep, think it gets a bit warmer in the sun and you get a film of oil on the fork leg.
Morestead Road, one I ride lots! I recognise lots of the roads you do in your vids, and spend a lot of time over Chichester way doing the Duncton road also, I'm part of a small group of riders from Southampton and watch all yours vids, would be great to meet up and go for a ride sometime!
That's a shame could have looked for your camera but were not allowed to walk down that side of the field anymore! But back to our problem of what do we want to what do we need,I just sold my Husky 701 because I needed a more allround bike, still got my CCM R30 for the odd blast around our lanes!
Well I did think the H2 was going to go by the end of this video I have to say! But the Kawasaki is such a special machine I can't blame you not wanting to sell it. Gutting to see your 360 camera launch itself into the countryside too, bad luck!
All roads lead to Loomies: which is a great shame on this occasion - since you could've done with drowning those impending post-Beemer blues! I really thought the H2 had finally had its chips, but I realise it's one of those spesh machines that would have a spell on you that'll be extremely hard to break. Fair play to ya Chops; and good luck with making that very nawtee Ninja half-practical!! 😉
Keep the H2 chops and buy some Helibars, makes any sport bike comfortable. I bought them for a few of my super bikes in the past and they take the angle off the wrists, there wider and closer to you. Would definitely recommend 👌
Id love if you could get your hands on a new 2023 model S1000RR m package and give it a go. I know its basically the same bike as the 2021 but I don't think it's as great value now as many of the standard nice bits on the old model M package (mainly carbon wheels) are now expensive options on the new m package.
I honestly couldn't tell the difference between Road and Dynamic on the ESA on my 2017 S1000R, so I'm surprised to hear your comments on the suspension. The electric suspension on my 2016 Multistrada S Touring is way better, IMO.
My s1000rr m sport fell to bits the same problem you had but mine came off at knockhill hairpin also lost good few faring bolts and an engine bolt also breaks were squeaking and binding all in not a good bike for me and Bmw told me it’s a characteristic of the bike hahahah ended up getting my money back went back to the aprilia
Since when have the head and the heart been on the same page… never an easy call that one. Maybe it’s a question of “replace-ability” S1000RR’s will be aplenty. H2’s less so.. good luck with this and keep us posted. 👍👍
From a viewers perspective the H2 is a more exciting motorcycle to watch. I don't know... the BMW is just a bit boring but at the same time the bike is so good! I am glad you chose to keep the H2, that thing is really special and already a classic.
I support your choice 100%. Mc is emotion and the bike has to trigger the right nerve. BMW has skilled engineers, but they lack the legacy of a sports bike manufacturer. The result has been a bike that is consistently good at everything and therefore lacks the ability to evoke the right emotions and commitment. One last thing, Ducati sold out when they went from V2 to V4 and are going in the wrong direction.
Great comprehensive video. Seems BMW just moved on from where they left off with previous model. I've had gen 1 and gen 3 and they were great all round performers.
Deciding which bike to keep, I would think, must in the end come down to: "which bike do I spontaneously think of when I wake up in the morning and see that the weather is perfect for riding?". I wonder if that was the mechanism you used, or if something else was the deciding factor.
I'd say keep the H2 mate. I've got a gen 4 S1000RR and it's been in and out of the garage more times than I can remember! Will be a month till I get it back this time around as needs a new clutch which is a manufacturer defect! Misfiring issues on cold starts and warning lights such as "Engine control fault" are only to name a few!
I have one chopsy l, amazing bike but as you say it has no soul, does everything amazingly well, too well in fact, so I have decided to swap mine and get the new v4 factory Tuono, won’t be as good but it’s a different bike and I miss the v4 engine sound.
Ahh man, that camera went flying! 😲 100% agree about all sportsbikes needing CC, all bikes over 500cc ish should have it TBH. All the while you can get long term loan bikes, not really much point keeping this one.
Think that BM is a big yawn, compared to your 690 ,or hypermotard. Loved your 690mvid. More please. I am an ex super bike rider by the way that averaged approx 18000 Mike’s a year ,let’s just have some fun and go supermotard. 😊👍
Excellent vid chops. Shame you had to get rid but I think you made the right decision in the end also I really hope you get to 100k subs 🤞🏼 because imo you deserve so many more keep it up mate 👍🏼
I knew you were teasing us but also always "knew" you wouldn't take the BMW. there is another side to the BMW is that they can be a little characterless even though technically good quality. A bit like the GS v other adventure bikes debate....we give the Beemers a head start in comparisons.
Hope your doing well mate? It’s been a while since I’ve commented. I feel you’ve made the right choice. The H2 will eventually go up in value i believe. It’s a worthy investment. Hope it does, Then you’ll be able to buy the BMW down the line perhaps.
@@LambChopRides Yeah all good mate. back in the UK now after traveling Australia and New Zealand. Your channels still going strong ! You've been having a blast too, By the looks of it. 👌
Thanks John, that was a great video. I've kind of said my next bike will be a 2020 SDR but I must admit I need to test ride this before making my mind up. Shame about the camera flying off, I wondered what that was. As for the plaque for 100k followers, has TMF offered you his for a bit?
Man I love LCR videos... one of the only intros that I cannot help but shoulder dance to... dont ask. Great content and honest feedback on the S1000rr. Keep up the great work. Any chance at reviewing a 2021 Ninja 1000sx, curious what your take would be on a modern sports tourer, and not a BMW SS acting like one? ;)
I guess other manufacturers haven't gone down the variable valve timing route since focused track bikes (on track) don't really benefit from it. BMW have made a road bike that can race, whereas others have made a race bike that can go on road. Guess that's why the BMW isn't so good in BSB or even WSBK where they are allowed to use the variable valve timing.
As always-loved the vid LCR. I'm still laughing my arse off at the Pastie 'Hunt' (being Cornish and all) . So many say this bike is 'soulless'. I've been riding since 1983-started on a Red Vespa 90 in my homeland of Cornwall. Live in Oz now (since '88) and have ridden/owned so many bikes it's not funny. Kwakas, Hondas, Suzzies, Yammies, KTMs, Trumpies, Dukes and Prillies. I have loved them all-they are/were 'my girls'. No way I was going to put a Beemer in the garage with a 990 Adventure and an RC390 Track Bike in close proximity (Yep-got slagged off for that too-I also have a 2008 R1 Track Bike-but I love the RC at Phillip Island as well). Until I found a second-hand S1000RR M with 900 kms on it. How without soul can it really be? I bought it. Beemy is now my fave 'girl' (no disrespect to anyone here). I thought my 3 ZZR 1100s were the best bikes I could ever own. Then my 990 Adventure changed my life, Then my (lucky find) TZR 250 R added to my immense joy. SOUL-is what you believe you have and your connection with life and way you 'feel'. The things in life that make 'getting out of bed' a worthy cause-you know_family, kids, and other shit-like riding a half-decent bike. The S1000RR is only considered soulless in the eyes of those who cannot look past the 'hype' of commercialism and 'it should be more hard core and more difficult to ride'-but that's my 'irrelevant' opinion. I love mine-it is by far the best bike I have ever had the pleasure to ride (and I deliberately bought a KTM Adventure in spite of Long Way Round (BMW GS BS!) because I didn't buy into the bullshit. Keep the H2-no doubt a classic in the making. In my mind, so is the this iteration of the S1000RRM. Love to all fellow bikers!
I ordered my S1000RR m package in August 2020 mainly based on your (and 44theeth's) great reviews rides of this bike. Those video's are well worth watching too if anyone is thinking of buying. We should start a funding jar and help Chopsy keep this BMW. Shame really, he enjoys it so much.

I have had the sport for the last 12 months. Trust me, everything chops is saying is on the money. It’s an amazing bit of kit. Enjoy and ride safe.
You got everything the M has except carbon wheels and hard seat, everything else is the same. Me, I didn't want the Carbon wheels.

I wouldn't sell the H2 to get the BMW not that it is an amazing bike! But I doubt they be making another H2 anytime soon, future classic
Will they be pausing/stopping HR production?
No it’s going to be around for awhile while adding more super charged bikes to there line up.
I also don't regard the H2 as the mass production bike.
@@bonta0240 that's what I meant
Why anyone would want a 240kg sport bike is beyond me, regardless of how much power it has.
Pull the rubber back on the left grip right next to the switch wheel and you’ll find the screw to tighten and the fork that’s usually just grease from the production of the forks.

As a good friend often says to me Chops, "can you afford not to" 🤣
Take the loan Mr Lamb ... for all that is holy, take out the loan. Secure her!!!!

Tq fr the review..just sold my F3..S1000rr suitable for old man like me..
Barf!!! The cam is making me feel dodgy when it does a 360...😆
Good video and the right decision imho..👍
Well I did think the H2 was going to go by the end of this video I have to say! But the Kawasaki is such a special machine I can't blame you not wanting to sell it. Gutting to see your 360 camera launch itself into the countryside too, bad luck!
Convinced you would buy the BM , love to have one, but understand your decision
Best bike reviewer on the net in my opinion!!
Yep, all roads lead to Loomies, where there is overpriced low quality food!
Good and sad video. Sorry to hear you are returning the S1000RR. Look forward to your next videos.
Thanks Lyn 👍
Great 360 shots Chops , well done .
Right choice mate..
Good decision, Chopsy. The H2 is something really special.
It will be great to see a top riding experience and detailed review YAMAHA R1 AND R1M
Keep both. It's just a great bike. I would keep both. Yes little expensive but worth it
I support your choice 100%.
Good decision, litre sports bikes are ten a penny, the H2 is a unique bike.
Great comprehensive video. Seems BMW just moved on from where they left off with previous model. I've had gen 1 and gen 3 and they were great all round performers.
I had a 'Dead Cat' blow of an external mic mounted on my bike, watched the footage, went back 2days later & bingo found it.
Deciding which bike to keep, I would think, must in the end come down to: "which bike do I spontaneously think of when I wake up in the morning and see that the weather is perfect for riding?".
I wonder if that was the mechanism you used, or if something else was the deciding factor.
big decisions to make... #1 how i want the espresso to tickle my wife's nose... might end up in riding too ;)
I'd say keep the H2 mate. I've got a gen 4 S1000RR and it's been in and out of the garage more times than I can remember! Will be a month till I get it back this time around as needs a new clutch which is a manufacturer defect! Misfiring issues on cold starts and warning lights such as "Engine control fault" are only to name a few!
Is the S1000RR that has all the issues you mentioned, or the H2? Cheers

Great Review Chops BMW is an amazing bike H2 Special and a keeper i think you kept the right one
I have one chopsy l, amazing bike but as you say it has no soul, does everything amazingly well, too well in fact, so I have decided to swap mine and get the new v4 factory Tuono, won’t be as good but it’s a different bike and I miss the v4 engine sound.
I went the other way from the tuono to the rr . I find the rr a lot easier to live with, but yes that v4 is amazing
Ahh man, that camera went flying! 😲
100% agree about all sportsbikes needing CC, all bikes over 500cc ish should have it TBH.
All the while you can get long term loan bikes, not really much point keeping this one.
You'll hit 100k in no time mate.
Thanks Peter 👍
Think that BM is a big yawn, compared to your 690 ,or hypermotard. Loved your 690mvid. More please. I am an ex super bike rider by the way that averaged approx 18000 Mike’s a year ,let’s just have some fun and go supermotard. 😊👍
Totally agree
Great choice. Looking forward to you getting your hands on the new GSXS1000GT. It's getting great reviews.
Can’t think of any H2 owners ( including myself ) that would sell it for the BMW
Great machine the Bmer but not as special as the H2
Excellent vid chops. Shame you had to get rid but I think you made the right decision in the end also I really hope you get to 100k subs 🤞🏼 because imo you deserve so many more keep it up mate 👍🏼
Thanks Michael 👍
I won’t lie, watched these videos during the week. Put deposit on a 2021 msport today . Thank you Sir 👌🏻🙏
You will love it! Miss mine 😫
I knew you were teasing us but also always "knew" you wouldn't take the BMW. there is another side to the BMW is that they can be a little characterless even though technically good quality. A bit like the GS v other adventure bikes debate....we give the Beemers a head start in comparisons.
Great review.I would have kept the RR as an everyday fun bike.Respect to you.
Decision was a never in doubt throughout your entire long term ownership. 👍
I love my 1997 FIRESTORM and it rides as good as any £15000 MACHINE so I love it mate.!
PS my machine is classed as a TOURER LOL
Hope your doing well mate? It’s been a while since I’ve commented. I feel you’ve made the right choice. The H2 will eventually go up in value i believe. It’s a worthy investment. Hope it does, Then you’ll be able to buy the BMW down the line perhaps.
Hi Matt, blimey matey how you doing? Has been ages. Yes I'm now happy with my decision on this one 👍
Any chance at reviewing a 2021 Ninja 1000sx, curious what your take would be on a modern sports tourer, and not a BMW SS acting like one? ;)
Will see what I can do P C 👍
Respeckt your desition!
Nice review as ever Chopsie!!
You made the right choice, Chopsy. The S1000RR is very good. But the H2 is a legend. You will forever regret selling the H2
Wise choice you had 6 months fun out of it and it won’t ever be the bike the H2 is, fantastic review 👍
I have 3 miles on mine its sitting in my garage, waiting good weather
Morestead rd. What a beauty 😉
Thanks Leigh, it is fantastic! 👍
