When you commented that this video is the least professional you've shared, I have to disagree. I think you demonstrated that you are a true professional who knows her craft inside and out. To have so much knowledge that you can turn a setback into a win is a sign that you really know your stuff. And I love the way they turned out.
I like the results. I’m reminded of what Bob Ross said about painting: “There are no mistakes, just happy accidents.” I think that this is appropriate for this situation, too.
I don’t think it was a fail! Someone is going to absolutely love that style - not a single piece of furniture is going to be for everyone. I always appreciate seeing the reality of this kind of work - you showed your tenacity too!
Who knew these pieces would turn out to be stunning. I love how the wood grain shows through on the drawer fronts. Adding the white to the top, the first drawer, and the bottom feet gave a perfect contrast. I am happy your rolled with the punches. Well done!
It absolutely worked. I'm glad you uploaded. 1, we need the reminders that art/creation/effort doesn't always go to plan. 2, resiliency and dedication are important traits. 3, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Good job all around.
I absolutely love the finished product and you’re totally right! We run into these road blocks all the time and it’s important to know how to pivot and make it work. I might have to try Ash & White wax the next time I get a good oak grained piece 🖤🤍
Is very nice seeing you here Katie, I'm also a subscriber in your channel, I don't usually put my comments because people are nice but others aren't. Take care!
White wax did the trick! Very interested to learn that the initial ‘butte’ waxing was critical to the finish. I never knew that, so thanks for that important lesson!
I'm so glad you show the real life of furniture refinishing- things don't always go as planned. I think they turned out very cool- a darker take on coastal to me.
I love how these turned out! Distressed isn’t normally my look either but these are just so beautiful! Thank you for being willing to share that projects don’t always go the way you planned in your head, it’s a relief to hear that it happens even to the most talented refinishers.
We are always our worst critic. The wax at the end, was a game changer. These nightstands are absolutely beautiful. To me, It looks like a weathered distressed finish, which I love. This is my first time, at your channel. Unfortunately, now I have to binge watch.😉
Your Narrative commentating is HILARIOUS!! I was absolutely thinking the same thing you where, for the outcome of the furniture. The final product is astonishingly beautiful! Kind of nautical. I love this video, and thank you so much for putting it out!
Love how they turned out- the grain showing from the white wax looks good with the whitewash. Also love that you shared the improvisational process… makes it more real and approachable.
I, personally, think they turned out beautiful. I love your attitude and how you pulled it off despite not being quite what you imagined. Like life, things don't always go as planned. What matters is how we respond to those things. --- Lee
You're totally right that this look isn't for everyone. :) Personally, it's not my taste, but I can admire the look regardless. You did really well in managing to salvage something you didn't like into something you do like, and I'm certain they're going to go to a home where they're loved and appreciated. Great job! Also, I don't think you need to hesitate about uploading content like this. It didn't come across as "unprofessional" just because you winged it. As you said, these situations will come up, and it's a good insight into how to think on the go and do what you can to make something work. I enjoyed the video, the process and the humour regardless of what the design is. Keep it up. :) You're doing great.
Your instincts came through even though you don't seem to be sure of that. And from other comments, I'm not the only one who thinks so! I love the contrast and especially that with the white wax the grain is visible. Beautiful! 💖👍🙂
You've quickly become one of my favorite furniture restorer/painters and I love your videos. Thank you for choosing to share this project, I'm glad you did.
I’m learning so much from you! Thanks for still keeping this and showing it to us. I love how it ended up and how you can always find a way to save a piece.
I was thinking farmhouse, but you’re totally right! I can see them in a home with a nautical aesthetic! The white wash gives it a driftwood/coastal vibe.
love it love it love it ! . Angie , what I love about you is your humble personality . There is some cocky furnitures flipper in here , I don’t watch their videos any more. Love from California 🌹♥️
I love every single thing about these! I think the white wax was the perfect finishing touch to bring it all together. Absolutely stunning (as usual!!!) I’ve never not loved something you’ve done
Your prep routine is exquisite. Whenever I watch your videos this is what I enjoy the most. I love neatness, attention to detail, I mean, let's not beat around the bush - I like the job done properly :) This doesn't take away from your painting technique and your eye for colour - they are equally good. Another thing I admire is the respect you pay to the wood. And even though my prefered style is slightly different, I really love your pieces and thoroughly enjoy watching everything you do.
I am so happy you uploaded this. It gives inspiration to others- not always do things go as planned, but never give up. Channels that are only "perfect" can be depressing. True to life issues give support and inspire to never quit! I love your final product! Bravo! 👍👍💕
I have felt the same way at first, when my colors had too much contrast. We doubt ourselves the entire time we're working on a piece! But girlfriend, you did an absolutely beautiful job on these. Just go with what your head is telling you! I don't think you could mess up a project if you tried!
Definitely not my taste, but I can see how this would fit in beautifully in certain interiors. You admirably turned this around (in something that I believe is very fashionable) and did not stubbornly, detrimentally stuck to your set plan. So absolutely not a fail in my book. I hope they sell well!
Girl ! Even what you consider a fail is gorgeous. I would purchase these all day long. They are absolutely beautiful. Love Love Love all your videos and I especially love how humble you are.
Why so hard on yourself Girl? They’re perfectly imperfect just the way they should be:) I love the look. You were very brave to strip those drawers I appreciate videos that show how you handle surprises. It happens eventually. If it hasn’t yet, keep painting furniture:) Love your videos
Girl, you just kept going and the result is fantastic. AND… you’ve made ring pulls stylish again 😉 They remind me, as an equestrian, of the rings we tie our horses to. And overall, the pieces have a definite equestrian feel. I just love your videos. You’ve turned something no one would want, into something everyone would want.
This might be my absolute fav you’ve completed - I love that the wood is as much of a star as the design and paint/wax combo - they each play a supporting role for the other aspects. Well done! 🥇
I have praised your work almost to the point of obsession LOL when I started watching this video and was listening to what you said about it not looking great almost not posting I just wasn't going to make a comment.. at the end of the video I thought they're okay and then I looked at them a little longer and thought I like them looked a little longer and thought way better than okay after about 5 minutes of looking again almost obsessively LOL I have to say I love them they grow on you and once they do they're awesome another great job 👍👍👍
I’m so glad you chose to post this. Some pieces just have a mind of their own and if we keep going we get rewarded! I totally love the end. That fact that wood comes through both colors is very interesting. I’m about ready to attempt the finish where you scrub the grain so the wash will soak in. But this may be an alternative. 😊
Wow, they do have a leathery look on the bottom and a denim look on the blue for sure. This maybe a hiccup to you, but to someone else no doubt awesome. I think it’s beautiful and very unique🌟❤️
I love how these turned out! This is definitely a lesson in trusting the process which is something I am not very good at, especially since I am just starting out. Also, knowing that everyone has doubts and makes changes mid-stream when things don't go as they plan is inspiring and comforting. Thank you!
As Bob Ross would say, "Lets call it a happy accident", Great job they turned out very nice!! you trusted in yourself and just let it happen! Cheers :)
I’m an Australian married to a Canadian and have been following your channel for ages. Thank you sooo much for your inspiration and your talent. Just love your videos. They keep me sane and convince me that if I try hard enough, I can create these pieces that inspire me.❤️. You are a gem.
You know that old saying “if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans”? I kind of feel like you could say the same thing about furniture before it’s refinished. Hehe ;) It still turned out really pretty, even if not how you envisioned.
All I can say is WOW! This piece looks incredible!! I'm a newcomer to furniture makeovers and I stumbled on these videos by accident.. I'm renovating my mom's house for an Airbnb and 2 of the bedrooms have outdated furniture.. my sister's wanted to put them beside the road and I begged them not to so glad I did.. this is how I got interested in this process!
Gorgeous! Those ribbed drawers must've been a pain, but SO worth it! Not sure why the painted furniture haters would bother watching your videos, seems kind of silly to me, but maybe you can convert them, ha ha! 🤣
Great save. It’s important for your subscribers to know that there are times when things don’t work out and to know that there are ways to save the situation. Excellent tutorial
I see what you mean about a denim kind of look. And I agree with other comments about a coastal vibe. I appreciate your narration through your thought process. Always fascinating to hear how you arrived at your destination. The more I look at them the more I like them too. :)
Thank you for showing what didn't work out as planned. We've all been there! Beautiful result even if not exactly how you thought it would be. Sometimes the plan doesn't work and the piece just doesn't cooperate. Damn wood! It has its own ideas!
The way they turned out is better than what you could have imagined, cause you did something you didn’t do before. More interesting this way. You’ve discovered a new method or finish. This is the way new things are discovered, by accident. 👍🏼❤️
I am new here and I love, love, love your channel! My 18 year old son is turning our old pantry box into a desk for his room. This is such a great resource for him! They turned absolutely stunning...looking so high end and custom!!! You have a magic touch...everything you do turns out fabulous even if it's not what you initially envisioned!!! Love them!!!✌❤
Girl! Don't be so hard on yourself. These things happen and we just have to do our best to see another way to fix things. You're so talented and one if the best furniture artist I've seen. I'm a Capricorn too! I know exactly what you're talking about. LOL Keep up the amazing work! I learn something new Everytime I watch one of your videos. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Another winner! I do like how the grain shows through the paint and the wax is what did it! A happy accident and sophisticated farmhouse. Yea!! color is coming back!!

Agree. You did a fab job finding a workaround I think it looks stunning
Katie, I'm also a follower of yours, nice to see your comments here! 😀
Are you kidding me?!? Those are GORGEOUS. 😍👍🏻 That staging tho!!! You are simply amazing.
White wax did the trick! Very interested to learn that the initial ‘butte’ waxing was critical to the finish. I never knew that, so thanks for that important lesson!

These look lovely! Like farm house design, but elevated.
Gorgeous! You may have just started a new trend. We appreciate the artist in you
You never fail, Angie. Another gorgeous project.
I love them Angie! Lots of hard work and determination to make them beautiful. Beautiful.

Gotta say these turned out to be very unique...love them!
This turned out beautifully. Sometimes things need to go a bit off track in order to discover new things. Keep up the amazing work.
Stunning girl, absolutely stunning! Your 'mistakes' are some of the nicest redos I've ever seen! Somebody will snap those up quickly.
Thank you so much!
You are so talented. You were going on and on about how it wasn't looking good, and not professional, and, as usual, they came out beautifully.

WOW! Very "nautical" inspired--at least in my opinion! SOOOOOOO pretty!
I was thinking farmhouse, but you’re totally right! I can see them in a home with a nautical aesthetic! The white wash gives it a driftwood/coastal vibe.

As Bob Ross would say… it’s a happy accident. 💕 I think they are beautiful!

I really like these! After your lead up I wasn't sure I would. 😁Great save, Angie.
I like the way you can see the wood grain in the dark color as well as the light. Interesting treatment! Very pretty.
Beautiful! Things that happen organically can be the best discoveries.
I think they're beautiful and the mere fact that you have the talent and patience to save these pieces is commendable 👍👍
Great save. It’s important for your subscribers to know that there are times when things don’t work out and to know that there are ways to save the situation. Excellent tutorial
Every time I see the end result of a restored piece of furniture I get heart palpitation of how amazing it looks - another Bottox, well done Angie !!!
Thank you kindly! 😀
You are my new favorite channel! I LOVE your work! So inspiring! Keep on keeping on!❤️❤️
I'm so glad you decided to show us this, I loved it and I will definitely try out this white wax on something dark. Love love love this, thank you!
Was not expecting them to be so charming and unique. They look chic and natural with the grain on the top and bottom left exposed.
This is where instinct , experience courage come together. I think it is beautiful
I see what you mean about a denim kind of look. And I agree with other comments about a coastal vibe. I appreciate your narration through your thought process. Always fascinating to hear how you arrived at your destination. The more I look at them the more I like them too. :)
I think they turned out FANTASTICALLY!!!!!!!!!!! I like when things don't go as planned.
Thank you for showing what didn't work out as planned. We've all been there! Beautiful result even if not exactly how you thought it would be. Sometimes the plan doesn't work and the piece just doesn't cooperate. Damn wood! It has its own ideas!

I am new here and I love, love, love your channel! My 18 year old son is turning our old pantry box into a desk for his room. This is such a great resource for him! My 15 year old daughter loves watching too. She had a funny comment, she took note of how you always show your finished product with the same clock. But I can see why, it gives the perfect staged look. This video was beautiful too, loved the final result. Thank you.
Wood grain is HIGHLIGHTED!! I WOULD TOTALLY DO THIS!! When things don't go your way, but you change it up. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! 💯
Thank you very much!
You have the most soothing voice 🥺🥺 I love all your videos
I watched this for the second time and though I don't enjoy watching you struggle, I'm always amazed at your determination to keep trying until you're satisfied with the finished product. I admire your persistence. Appreciate the real touch of class.
Wow they turned out so cool. One of my favorite things about flipping so far is that you can feel like it’s not going well then you put it all back together and BAM it’s a masterpiece. They’re awesome!
Just stunning! Your flips are some of my favorite. Thank you for posting this and showing me the real side of things.
I really LOVE the white wax over the charcoal! As soon as you said denim, that is all I see! Lol! Still a bit of a strong contrast, but like EVERYTHING you do and post on RUclips, they turned out GORGEOUS! Great job Angie. From your #1 fan. Lol!!
Every piece you touch has never seen a better day.
Wow, thank you so much! I really appreciate that!
The white wax tied everything together beautifully. I love the contrast. Stunning.
Gorgeous!!! Yep sometimes there are happy accidents like Bob Ross would say. It just shows your natural ability to experiment and roll with things. Not everyone has that. That's the real genius, taking a not intended mistake and turning it around for a beautiful result. Happy accident. LOve it just love it. And it shows us how to think about a project when it goes away. Maybe it can be salvaged or made even better than we thought. 💜😀
I'm going to say it again like I do on everyone of your videos.....They are amazing...…you knocked it out of the park on this one, despite when you thought things had gone wrong...…everything happens for a reason.
Don't second guess yourself. Your work is beautiful, your personality and your videos are just wonderful
Definitely a success! I know the internet can be cruel at times but you deserve to have more confidence in your craft when things don’t go completely to plan.
You give me inspiration to not stop with a project that's not going along with the plan. I love how these turned out!
I am so glad you uploaded this. Even professionals struggle sometimes and it helps me get more confidence in refinishing furniture, knowing things can always go wrong but can also be fixed. Thank you again for another inspirational video and the pieces look beautiful.
Pretty sure the nightstands are thanking you for the transformation. I actually think it looks great! The color combo works and white wax creates an interesting effect.
Well…..someone’s gonna love these. I admire your tenacity and honesty.
Thanks for watching!
I really like how they turned out. The white wax just settled into the grain so nicely.
Live how transformed - and for the better- this piece came out. Didn't think you could make that much difference. Thank you.
We are always our own worst critic. These turned out wonderful as high contrast is eye catching more times than not. Love the work.
Absolutely love it. Wasnt sure in beginning but your ability to see the big picture is a talent we all don’t see
They turned absolutely stunning...looking so high end and custom!!! You have a magic touch...everything you do turns out fabulous even if it's not what you initially envisioned!!! Love them!!!✌❤
I just want to say Thank You for ALL of your teaching moments and perfections. These nightstands are lovely!
Just goes to show that experience doesn't mean you dont screw up sometimes. This will help a newbie somewhere with encouragement.
Girl! Don't be so hard on yourself. These things happen and we just have to do our best to see another way to fix things. You're so talented and one if the best furniture artist I've seen. I'm a Capricorn too! I know exactly what you're talking about. LOL
Keep up the amazing work! I learn something new Everytime I watch one of your videos.
Thanks for sharing your talent.
Those turned out amazing! So glad you took it over the finish line 🥰
I do not doubt your ability for a moment. Your work is simply beautiful and your video is practical and informative. Love it!
Another winner! I do like how the grain shows through the paint and the wax is what did it! A happy accident and sophisticated farmhouse. Yea!! color is coming back!!
