Solo Maximum Magic Aerith (Mythril Rod) vs Hell House (Hard Mode, No Damage/Limit)

  • Time for the final match, and we're going all in now with Aerith packing as much power as she possibly can. The Mythril Rod has the highest Magic Attack of any of her weapons by far, and we're packing on 2 Magic Up, Elemental, every offensive spell in the game, and even a Luck Up to bring her damage up further.
    The result is a No Damage run which I'm quite proud of. It took a few attempts to get the speed and cadence just right, but this fight was both quick and very optimized, so I can't complain.
    The only time loss and inconvenience was the spread of the Tonberries in phase 1. Since he placed them far away from himself, my Sorcerous Storm couldn't reach all four targets and the House didn't get hit, forcing me to use another SS on just him to push phase 2. I would have saved 5 or 6 seconds if the rng had been more kind, but I'm not going to fret over every egg here.
    This marks the end of the Corneo Cup, the winner: Aerith by a landslide, who took only a few thousand damage across the whole tournament. I could have done all of this on one health bar theoretically! You'll notice my MP is full after the Sweeper and Cutter fight. I went out and used Soul Drain on random fights in the Collapsed Expressway to get my MP back, as I used pretty much all of it here haha. For those curious, the Bioga spell does 4237 damage; it's only visible for a single frame. Enjoy!
    Build is:
    Mythril Rod + Chain Bangle + Fury Ring
    Ice + Elemental, Fire, Lightning, Wind, Poison, Skill Master, Luck Up, Magic Up x2

    Man, looking back at this, I completely missed how Aerith almost became a jill sandwich if it weren't for the chip damage from the familiar tipping the boss into the next phase's cutscene at the last millisecond. Good stuff.

    • @Ultinarok47
      @Ultinarok47  Год назад +2

      Haha yep, I realized it happens pretty reliably though. During practice, he only hit me once or twice while jumping back before the phase shift. The damage while he's in the stands and the familiar are usually enough to force him to phase 3 before any hit happens.

      Thanks! No you sadly can't make him hit himself, but the more you strafe him, the easier it is to make the chairs whiff. I was just waiting on Bioga to explode, so I kept moving to avoid damage since I knew Bioga would push him to phase 2.

    • @Ultinarok47
      @Ultinarok47  6 месяцев назад

      Yes, many people missed the weapon that teaches it because it's a Steal from a boss. In the OG, Eligor was a rare enemy with a very powerful staff for Aerith to Steal. They brought him back as a boss and gave him the same Steal again (although the weapon was renamed from Striking Staff to Bladed Staff) but for players who didn't play the original or encounter Eligor, they didn't even think to Steal from him. You can see it when you Assess Eligor, but not many read the whole page. Also, you only get ONE fight between this weapon and her last weapon, which is the shortest time in the whole game between two new abilities. The only way to learn it by the time you get Reinforced Staff is to spam the Shield during the Whisper fight.

      @@Ultinarok47 Geez. There's other weapon abilities i never learned for her either that i saw someone use. It was another ward or something.
      I just had to spearhead my way through certain fights and there are so many times that shield would have been so useful.
      Hopefully in Rebirth if you cast down a ward the person stays inside of it or you can at least command them to do so.

    • @Ultinarok47
      @Ultinarok47  6 месяцев назад

      @xRagingxDemonx Yeah the AI ignoring the ward is annoying. Her two wards in Remake are Arcane Ward (double casts all attack spells) and ATB Ward (costs 2 ATB, refunds a bit of Aerith's ATB back on use, allies that stand in it use some of Aerith's ATB for their commands instead of their own).

    How do you unlock the flower shield? First time playing on hard mode.

    • @Ultinarok47
      @Ultinarok47  6 месяцев назад +7

      It comes from a weapon many people miss called Bladed Staff. You acquire it by using Steal on Eligor, the final boss of Chapter 11. I'd advise grabbing it on Normal difficulty because he's rough on Hard and you'll waste a lot of ATB trying to Steal if you're unlucky.
      Bladed Staff has the lowest magic of any of her weapons, but specializes in critical hits. Lustrous Shield puts the flower shield out directly in front of her a few feet away. Enemies can pass through it if they're strong enough but it deals slight damage to them. It's main use is knocking back human enemies (hilarious on Rude) and blocking projectiles. Some things it blocks:
      -Rude's Shockwave attack.
      -Status moves from enemies in the sewer like Slumber Plume.
      -Ghoul's blue beam attack and thrown objects.
      -Eligors eye beams and his javelins (not the ones that drop straight down unless you stand perfectly, but good against the ones that come down at an angle)
      -Jenova's orb attacks that it fires from its Tentacles.
      -Most of The Arsenal's moves; that fight is by far the best time to use it A LOT.
      -And here against the chairs obviously.
      It also has some use in a few regular encounters too, such as the Sweeper Prototypes/Sentries to block their gunfire and the Elite Shock Troopers Tornado attack, which is a nasty one on hard mode.

    Claims it's "solo"
    Enters fight with 2 people.
    If only using one character means your playing "solo", then that means that I beat the game on an entire solo run.... because I don't swap out my characters ever I let the computer control them I stick to one character and one character only...
    But solo means 1...as in only 1 person
    Just rename the title. Problem solved

    • @Ultinarok47
      @Ultinarok47  6 месяцев назад +11

      Player 2 is a Frog who does minimal damage and cannot use abilities or heal. This is how the game handles solos since you can't physically remove an ally from the team. The only other option is killing them off, which turns the whole screen a red hue and is annoying.
      The fact you don't know this proves you probably haven't actually played this game, huh?

    • @chuckrichardson83
      @chuckrichardson83 6 месяцев назад

      @@Ultinarok47 I've played the game I'm currently on my second playthrough now to grab the shit I didn't miss so I can go back and do hard mode.
      And I'm guessing you haven't played the game well because there are builds out there where you can kick ass and take names being a frog.
      There is even a material that you can pick up that permanently turns you into a frog just for that reason alone and if you don't know what I'm talking about I can send you a couple of build videos based around that frog.
      And if you really want to do a solo run wait till rebirth because they already said that after you beat the game once you are able to remove cloud from the group as well as anybody else you want and make the party that you want even if it's only a single player.
      Don't try to come at me because I called you out on the definition of what solo is.
      There's a frog build... try it... you would actually be surprised like I'm not joking with you seriously try looking up the Frog build on RUclips

      @@Ultinarok47 awwww. If the red Hue is annoying then I would never play Horizon zero Dawn or forbidden West because there are so many different things that change the Hue in color of your screen I guess you wouldn't even be able to play it there's moves that you do that literally blur and change the Hue of the color of the screen.
      Just do it right and kill off the other character

    • @Ultinarok47
      @Ultinarok47  6 месяцев назад +12

      @chuckrichardson83 1. I have no interest in Horizon, so that's irrelevant.
      2. The Frog doesn't really help. If you think it does, watch again and see the "explosive" 100 total damage it does all battle, if that.
      You're splitting hairs here man. The Frog is a handicap so big, the only function the 2nd player has is sometimes eating a hit for you, but AI in this game targets the controlled character every time, so if you don't switch to the Frog, it doesn't even do that.
      If you really think I needed the frog's help to win this, then I encourage you to try fighting with a team of all frogs in this game and see how ineffective it is. A frogged ally is worthless by design. Its the whole point of the accessory to turn them into one.
      There is no "real" Frog build, because they can only use one ability and some purple materia. You will not beat Hard Mode bosses with a frog, but feel free to try. Maybe some of the easiest ones like Reno, but you won't kill this house, that's for sure.
      I'm not "coming at you" at all my friend. You just had the honor of making the first ever stupid comment on my channel, which is a milestone I've been waiting for.
      Lol...you haven't even played hard mode and you're trying to tell me how to play too? Gee golly man. Not sure what to even say to that. We all start somewhere I suppose.
