But a lot of people fabric lies or disregard that Aerith and Tifa have a pure, honest, strong and healthy friendship despite sharing the same love interest. None of them appears to go bitter or jealous when Cloud favors the other. From my pov, Aerith does seem to cheer for Tifa, given she has a more shy character than her and I love that.
They really do subvert stereotypes with Tifa being super shy and lacking confidence despite being the bombshell and Aerith because super bubbly and outgoing despite looking like a "homely" flower girl.
I think this scene is interesting because there’s a hidden dialogue option for Tifa in Nibelheim where she explains that she always hated the part of herself that always wants people to like her. Makes me rethink her interactions with strangers and whatnot over the course of the story.

Just how rare of a name is Tifa anyway? Like how can she be recognised by name halfway across the planet from her original home and her second home? You’d expect that there are millions of Tifa’s in Gaia but maybe her parents just picked a super unique name for her

She's literally a very friendly acquaintance of a lot of people in sector seven, she has a great reputation of being a strong fighter and defending the slums from monsters, is very kind to anyone she encounters, it has made her resourceful and liked by everyone. She's kind of like the light and hope of any community she's in. The story in my opinion seems to imply the sector 7 slums where a very crappy place to be, very dangerous, depressing and with very cynical people; and yet she's able to brighten it up radically. Even one of the community watch members kinda seems to be very happy when she shows up to take care of the monsters.
Despite to that Aerith can be jealous from Tifa for Cloud, she is still a good friend for Tifa 👍
