This game really needs a loadout patch so you can make a materia set for each boss. Changing out materia everytime is a pain in the ass!

This was the only boss where it took forever to kill. To come into a boss fight unprepared and had no magic spells except for one coming in really sucked.

This boss was the boss that made me realize it's just better to asses the boss, restart the fight, re-equip the right weapons and materia, and go back into the fight. Made many of the later boss fights so much easier to do.
Agreed. After the first time getting my ass kicked, I knew I needed to reassess the situation and change up my Materia.
You will not believe how many items I sacrificed because i was too stubborn to re attempt the battle after spending like an hour on it

Honestly, the most impressive part of all your boss fights with party members is them not taking damage either. They do some pretty stupid shit.
For real. I just beat this boss a min ago, and Aerith got smashed by something towards the end stretch. No clue what. I was moving with Cloud, everyone full health. Look up for a sec, look back down...Aerith has 14HP 👀 lmao.
@@Faizaud I watched tifa and Barrett stand in the black hole that the rust Drake uses. They just stood there. Even when I took over and moved them away from it, they actually ran back to it and sat in it until they were low enough in health to die from a basic charge attack.-_-
@@Howl4514 lmao yea i think the same thing happened to me in that situation as well. It's super annoying because it seems the devs took the time to program the A.I. in the electric crab boss fight to avoid the rails on the ground when it does that big lightning attack...but they don't bother making the A.I. run away from basic things like that black hole.
AI are only as stupid as you'll allow them to meFicus on all characters and not just 1. This is why I believe they didn't up the party size to 4 instead of 3.
@@jamman7344 which is why we were talking about either not noticing what happened to them, repeatedly moving them out of the way of attacks, only for them to run back in when we switch out, and how the ai seems to be well made to understand they need to move to certain areas to avoid attacks. They may require a lot of micromanaging, so yes, they are only as dumb as we allow them to be, but sometimes that's too dumb. Such as sitting in an attack that deals constant damage and not moving until controlled by the player, or aerith running up to a melee enemy, getting in its face, and repeatedly returning to that spot even after you move her to her mid to long range area.😂
The most difficult part i think is not how you kill it smoothly, is how to prevent the AI to lead your character to damage. This must require some good timing to switch between them by protecting them from the AI.
yup, the right setting and good micronamagement are key, it's something I love about this game, you need strategy, it's not a hack 'n slash
I did exactly the same build and was able to do no damage kill too. Best FFVIIR boss killing video hands down.

I used a similar method... and it took me over 30 attempts and 4 hours to finally defeat that monster of a boss...

The trick isn't try to damage the house with strong magic (unless it's staggered), magic is required to pressure it so Cloud can effectively build stagger during the very few vulnerable moments the house has.
This fight is all about awareness and resource management. I really hated the fact players have to fight this monstrosity multiple times to 100% the game but thanks to this video the process is made a lot easier.
After 6 hours of trying i resorted to coming here. My Gawd dog is that first class sephiroth himself behind the controller 😲😲😲😲
And now I can just picture sephy with a gaming headset on, smiling smugly, as he once again managed to get behind cloud.
Right... So got to kill it when it flies around, any later than that and the cutter sweeper duo arrive and it's all over for me. I know this is hard mode but it's crazy ridiculous hard! Very well done and congrats for beating it! :)

Hard mode, clearing trophies, reached Hellhouse with no MP, tried several times, restarted chapter, didnt use any MP, reached Hellhouse with 80% MP, tried several more times, checked YT for tips, saw video title and thought "fooook offf", watched video, 'impressed nod of the head', destroyed Hellhouse next try, liked, subscribed. @@arraybytes Tonberries only come out of the house in hard mode, plus cutter & sweeper only trigger if you don't knock it out of the sky and kill it quick so maybe he's just better than you & me? Chill!

Damn, looks like as long as you have the right spell ready, this boss turns into a joke. Almost all of it’s big attacks can be interrupted with the right element. Really shows the importance of swapping characters to make sure their atb gauges are filled up.
Correct. It's always important to study and experiment with a game's mechanics. There usually is always a way. Just gotta do your homework.
Every single enemy in this game is like that. The point is knowing how to attack their weaknesses and to plan out the strategy beforehand. It's an RPG after all.
Its impossible on a single playthrough to do some of these because access to certain content isn't available until later, or you need to GRIND materia for days.

Ya I watched it again. Still can't explain the no sweeper and cutter but it did look to be on hard.
@@arraybytes he interrupted the special attack with the countdown which can allow you to skip cutter and sweeper. Its 100% on Hard difficulty. The house doesnt spit out other enemies on any other difficulties.
I can't wait to see you play the 2nd part of this game.

@@oppenheimer11 This game felt a lot like FFXV and many other current action RPGs (I think of God of War). A lot just had to do with the battles on normal mode (be sure to assess everything) and most importantly your loadout. Ironically, I had more deaths on normal because I didn't really know the fight patterns. After a lot of trial and error, Hard Mode wasn't too bad. HP up/Magic Up/ Magic attack Up/ Steadfast block/ First strike/ Magnify and Elemental are you best friends. The only real annoying thing was going to material menu and switching out elementals... and god forbid you have to swap a whole loadout with another character. Regardless what this man did in his video I couldn't replicate without a lot of practice. Good luck

Good job. I still here haven’t finished the game yet, but I have completed that chapter. So I’m learning. Few questions: 1.- Everytime the House opened the door, I got sucked in and damaged a lot. I guess I had to move away to avoid that? 2. Timestamp 2:43 you went wind, ice and fire element spell. Any reason you did ice and fire? I guess wind is due to House lightning mechanism. 3. Where did you get the Haste materia? I haven’t found it yet. Thanks :)

Just going around the videos trying to help. Just did it guys. Took me 2 hours no breaks. Like 11 attempts. Killed it before the sweeper and cutter came out. Was almost out of mp.
Equip elemental materia + lightning to cloud and twin stinger weapon
Tips:
Have first strike maxed out on both, at start of battle they are both infront together ( forget about the fire chairs) asap use Arcane ward around both. It will start off on fire always, use blizzaga with both will cast 4 times. Run in with cloud when stagger and your on to phase 2 in 10 seconds
Phase two it will run at cloud as your controling him. Switch to aerith and cast biogo ( it pays off) keep spamming thunder magic if its weakness is not revealed
cure + magnify to heal both folk on cloud. And raise on both.
Dnt be picky with mp. As long as you have full on entry 100+ its enough.
Phase 3: summon ifrit and dodge. Keep using counter spells and if no element use thunder spells. When staggered. aerith use ray of judgment and maul with punisher on cloud.
As shit as the boss is. If your not picky and quick. You can wipe it out before it summons the green toms and the mechs. Its all about speed
Note i danced alot when i won.

@@trevoryong it gets worse im afriad to get all the manuscripts you need to do all side quests on hard. So you have to fight it twice. I killed it first try my second run the same way tho. You just need to be quick and acurate and wipe it through phases before the toms and mechs. I actually went back to normal to mess around abit and it was boring and too easy now. I prefer hard now after i moaned about it hahaha. Im on 94 hours now and only chapter 17 & 18 to do on hard
EL GAZO I managed to defeat Hell House today - managed to figure out how to avoid attacks whilst also killing the Tonberries quickly. I ran out of MP and used Aerith’s MP sucker whenever Hell House went high to replenish. So glad it’s over.

Try having 4 of each materia ( non blue) and maxing out each. First strike and prayer, hp and mp ups are amazing to. My barret has 9999 with provoke. The elemental materias are the best item. And magnify with heal linked on cloud and each with arise spell, its only 14 to revive with full hp. So 14mp to bring back a character with 7000 odd hp. Cant go wrong.
Does breach materia work against the shield it uses?

Good job, in my first time in hard mode, chocobo sam's sweeper duo appeared and fortunately my aerith can use planet protection and it save a lot of time dealing with them.
Just curiosity, what do you class classic as in terms of difficulty? Is it inbetween normal and hard, or between easy and normal?
classic is for retard proof, AI will auto hit for you
Spent more than 30 hours on this boss not including time to work on materia to do it with. It took combining what I learned from your vid with BushidoCypher's vid to FINALLY take down hard mode Hell House!
After just clearing it normal this is so impressive haha
I finally defeated this hell house! after going through 5 hrs of BS. I made both Aerith and Cloud equip magic materia using them in the right moment. It took me a while to recognize when the house change element. Look at the windows of the house and you see the colors. Just throw some opposite magic like ice when its fire and lightning when is wind (green).
How do you manage to make an instant stagger at the beginning?

That brought up so many nightmares from the OG, me being alone in the middle of that park, allies dead and no Phoenix down. Then comes this this house....

@@roxisultimate8152 yes, it was in that abandoned area towards the old park with the slide. It started out as a normal house but when you would attack it, it would sprout arms and go into rampage mode and become very difficult, depending on how strong you had your characters at this point, the fight would be rather hard.
How did you replenish your MP before this battle?
How do Cloud’s Buster attacks cause so much damage? Granted my fight was during my first play through, but my Buster physical attacks bounced off and knocked Cloud back. Is it the elemental material that allows it?

How did you get that first stagger with like... just a Blizzaga? If i shamelessly copy your strategy, it only fills stagger up for like maybe a third?

where did you find the SECOND Magic Up Materia? O.O the game replaces the unique items with green materias, and i think you can't buy it anywhere...

God, and the way I eeked this out in under 10 minutes with those tonberries was having carbuncle and revival earrings on cloud and Aerith, with a hell of a lot of prays and etc... Geez
The Tonberries in this fight can be taken out with one triple strike if you attack them right away, they are glass cannons in this fight.
@@chesteradams7423 wasn't aware of that so I just equipped Warding + Subversion I think? To be immune against Instant Death.
Does the game let you play Hard Mode but WITHOUT new game plus?? Start from zero but hard mode???

Yes well you have to understand that this is most likely not his first attempt. He just learned all the mechanics and how to counter them perfectly one by one. That takes time.

@@tommyle8557 Thats a good question. I heard that the element weakness depends on the attack that the house is about to release. In that case, wind should be a fixed weakness to Heavensward final blow
Second try using this method, BIG WIN! For me, at least 1 person need to be equipped with Prayer materia for just in case needs healing. But still, can't bring this house down without your guide. Thanks man...
How the hell did you get the boss pressure gauge up so fast in that first initial attack from just one blizzardga ??? I have to put at least 2 focus burst after
the blizzard attack to get it staggered.
I just learned of this by trying it out but you need to finish the combo of the punisher mode, the last hit (around 0:30 in the video)should be enough on putting pressure on the house. Finish the combo with the strong attack in punisher mode with blizzaga to stagger.
Hows it possible that the AI cloud doesnt get attacked during Heavensward?

How do you know which element to cast at the last phase when it was readying hellbound? Or does it just have to be the strongest version of any element?
Same question. I've seen people cast Sleep and then thunder before it finishes its countdown and it causes the house to come crashing down in its pressured mode.
@@marioozuna2168 I know that you can see the hellhouse's weakness whenever you want by looking at its enemy intel during the fight if you already assessed it once (doesn't matter if it does 'barrier shift'. you can check as many times as you want without using assess again). But here I do not see that moment in this run.
So am I seeing this right? Is Blizzaga the best Skill to Stagger Enemies? Also the Limit at the end seems massive Overkill xD
Just wondering, any reason you use Buster Sword instead of the other swords?
I think it's the most balance (and cool looking) one.
Its the best balanced weapon for cloud having 91 in both attack and magic attack, its allows you to be both a physical attacker and magic caster pretty well. His other weapon fight a specifc role like Hardedge ups his attack but lowers his magic while mithril saber ups his magic but lowers his attack, these weapon constrickt him to only doing good damage with either physical or magic.
