You can also put a elemental materia linked on the armor for one character to heal off the many fire attacks

The fight didn't play out exactly like this, but the general strategy of using Focus Thrusts and Aerith's elemental spells to stagger him worked perfectly. Beat him on the third attempt!
I agree, the part when Counterstance comes I have deviate but I did manage to beat the House in first attempt 👍🏼.

so i've tried this a few times, haven't gotten the win just yet, but i get really damn close. my issue is my RNG is a pain with me and the house switches things up some times haha ill get it though, this is a solid strat and you are a god send for posting this.
Update... I finally got it!!1 And it's all thanks to you brother!! Much appreciated!! you saved me the cost of a new controller haha
So I had 150mp on Aerith and just barely beat it, on the last magic spell after the one to take him down during Hellbound Aerith was only left with like 9MP so I used the MP on cloud to cast Fire since I had it equipped given all the empty slots u had for Cloud. And on Aerith I only had 2 magic ups with 4 and 3 stars, ended up working out. Thanks for this awesome guide!

The. Worst. Boss. In. The. Game. On. Hard. Mode.
The Sweeper and Cutter at the last phase is just so cheap running doesn’t help and blocking doesn’t always help if you’re getting pelted by the two robots WHILE Hellhouse is in the air using Salvo. I don’t know why the developers thought this was a good idea.

Aerith kept getting hit and died before final stage. Had to replace 1xMP Up with 1xHP Up to tank it over. 1 fully upgraded MP Up is enough in my testing. Also if magic is casted too quickly, it will somehow get ghosted. Anyway thanks mate for yet another great boss guide.

Great guide, easy to understand and to execute, with room to adapt your relic build (use elemental + fire on Cloud in case needed heal).
OMG I did it on my 5th go lol. My cloud kept dying so had to use a cure just before the last stage. I’m over the moon that I’ve finally got this done but I am dreading future bosses. Your guide was fab but I just have clumsy fingers. Thank you so so much!!

At least 5 times I’ve gotten it so weak you can’t even see a life bar a 5 times it used some attack that wiped me out.

Thanks for sharing your weapon build! I was level 50 but another guide I was using failed to show this and so my stats were different from theirs.
I'm curious tho... Why didn't you spend the last 16 sp you had on Cloud's hardedge sub-core iv? For the weapon ability crit rate 10% boost. Seems like that would be helpful, wouldn't it? I staggered my saves just in case there was a reason, but I went ahead and purchased that upgrade.
I haven't tried the fight yet, but I'm hoping for better luck, despite not having materia as high level as you. I managed to get through the sector 6 slums with a decent amount of mp (aerith at 91, cloud at 84---a big improvement from 34 and 50 the first time lol) and I'm hoping to go through the coliseum with less mp spent too. I'm super curious how you got through the slums OK with full mp?! Even with soul drain, that seems tough. Those sweepers suck! None of the boxes I found had any mp either, and I believe I was pretty thorough. I went back and fought the bandits at the very end of the sec 6 slums to use soil drain on them for aerith atleast.
Anyway I'll post if I had luck or not. 🤞🏾
If i get a critical, it could mess up the strategy as if i show you a strategy that relied on a critical, then it likely will work different for you, i like consistency. I tend to avoid anything RNG related in my guides if possible due to the being a reason

When I started this fight the house shat out three tonberrys, almost every time.
But luckily this fight is simple when you know it’s weaknesses, and the fact I went and knocked out chapter 17 before the rest of the story on hard.
This was a tough fight even on easy. This guide for hard mode is money in the bank! Thank you!

omg i FINALLY beat this boss!! areith kept dying on me after the second phase luckily i had the gotterdammerung equipped which was what i killed him with. after awhile some big enemies come out i was so close dying guys i cant even tell you

You can always check, it will just have ??? if you havent assessed him before

Aerith AI is bad, she's a ranged attacker but just try to stay near the house...
But finally after carefully follow your instructions step-by-step I defeated the Hell House....
Especially, your setup are also more common and easier to reach for most ppl. I have weaker Cloud and Aerith and slightly poorer setup (like Cloud wihout the Fury Ring, Aerith with only one Magic Up) but it still works wonderfully. Many other videos are just showcases of their expertises in dodging/timing, or their superior end-game equipments. I don't have both.

I wouldnt really class materia grinding as showing off, probably the opposite as you just spend an hour or so running through the same section over and over killing the same easy enemies!!
This was created as a guide so apologies if you dont feel it comes across that way.
The Cutters and Sweepers are skipped due to how I work the fight. Can't remember with the tonberries if i was just lucky or worked past them as well.
It should all be explained, but then if you think i havent explained anything, then I can only apologise for not making the guidance clear enough for you i guess

I tried 4 or 5 times WITH your guide but my short term memory wasn't good enough, so I re-watched your video and took notes on paper and followed exactly and it worked perfectly. Thanks for your help!
Arcane ward is very helpful to use as well
Easiest way is to just use aerith as your leader
Guess I have bad luck. Every fight the house summons 3 tonberrys
Whenever the tonberry appears, just use a blizzaga and they will die
@@FF7RR no biggie I plated the game working on the very long rebirth plat now
My Aerith had literally 298 HP & 29 MP remaining when I pulled this off. (Every single Materia I had was Maxed. I wasn't going into Hard Mode without that.)
So it summons the tonberries if you don't deal enough damage fast enough. So magnify and warding ain't needed. If you can effectively do this I mean
Do i use those or is that what others use?? Yea if you can keep doing a good amount of damage here and never let up, you can skip a lot of enemy spawns
@@Optinooby I used poison stop and somehow just beat it. Only have to do it once more after I beat the story
@@Optinooby on the winning run it popped out a tonberry within 10 seconds of the fight starting, I don't know how my set up did it as I think I used a combo from 3 videos and I thought that doesn't seem right so I'll try this. I staggered an arm just before my team died but I really hate this fight. The only one left I think I'll have trouble with is pride and joy

Unfortunately for me I had to restart the whole chapter because by the time I got to this fight on Hard Aerith only had like 60MP left and Cloud only had 5. Slowly but surely I'm learning how important MP Management is in this game (despite thinking how dumb it is at times). Thank you for the quick win strat!
iirc, there is a place to recover MP here, its way back in the corner of the construction area. There are some crates there with the MP shards.
Its was at the deadend which a zig zag slope leads down to and some flying enemies there iirc.

Also if you break crates,save and reload after that the crates will respawn and you can repeat this process until you have full MP.
It's freaking ridiculous! It makes the game tedious and just torture.
I am low on mp for both characters and I don't have enough sp for all the additional materia slots. What should I do?
This is somewhere to fill up in the mission if i remember, think its in the northwest corner in a dead-end in the junk area

@@darrenbachan9272 Yea i think i remember you cant go back up actually. I remember that one crate with the Mako right in the corner, think its the only spot in the mission that you can farm MP, very sneaky of them

Totally a life saver 🥹🥹🥹 I got fire weakness after "one"... I didn't know what happened on the first try i think aerith didn't cast firaga on time and hell house jumped and 1-hit killed us both. I beat it on my second attempt tho with very few damage.

There's another guide I have saved to hopefully beat it but your guide seems good. I beat this once on hard but had to restart at chapter 3 because of the side quests and I am starting to get tired of trying for the platinum trophy

I saw that you can use stop and berserk to end it in 2 minutes. But yeah, this and the Bahamut glitches were a pain in my butt. Now I can finally move on to the evil pull-ups and final chapter to platinum the game.

Thank you for the guide. I had to tweak a few things after dying 7 times. So when he was counting down after heavenward I had to have aerith use Götterdämmerung(also used your guides to help me get it) to have her planets protection on her an cloud. However I absolutely believe you can do it without it. It was just an extra insurance policy in case I didn't get him when he jumped down because that's where I kept dying. REALLY IMPORTANT PART... YOU NEED TO ASSESS HIM! I did not and tried to follow the guide exactly which was good for most of the time except when it came to heavenward. Instead of being weak to lightning he was actually weak to ice thus why I kept dying. So I had to risk losing one atb for cloud and assessing the house at the beginning so I didnt have enough atb to counter him rushing me. Optinoob did say at the beginning you need to check his weakness for yourself or else you might end up healing the house or using the wrong spell and won't pressure or stagger him. Also at the end I had to have cloud use 2 focus thrusts and aerith use a blizzaga. Anyway thank you for the guide. Still by far the best and easiest.

Try using this build, I won even though I started the fight with 0 pm and I still passed without taking damage, in the first phase just stay close to the door which avoids the projectiles, giving you time to stun the house without taking damage BUILD:
CLOUD:
Iron Blade: (Ice+Elemental, Enemy Skill, First Strike, ATB Stagger, Skill Master) Bahamut
Chain Bangle: (ATB Assist, ATB Boost, Refocus, Refocus)
Platinum Earrings
AERITH:
Silver Staff: (Wind+Sinergia, Ice, Fire, Lightning, First Strike) Leviathan
Cog Bangle: (ATB Stagger, Magic Up, Magic Up)
Platinum Earrings

What the????? where are the robots that summon up the second time he transforms???? (Opens up) The cutter and the blaster things???? I always get it down to a literal sliver of it's health, but because they are there I die before I can finish him...
Due to the strategy, it somehow bypasses that, but you need to try to replicate everything to stun/pressure/damage the same at the same moments as well

1. Im not to sure really if I have another knowledge to answer that as I havent followed the story closely ;). What I have seen though, they definitely think they're there cool, though I cant say if it comes of as cringe or actually looking cool because of first point ;)
2. You have yea, or others, there have been a few games that are brought up quite often. I've never played the Dishonored games, and im pretty busy atm, not to say I will never cover, just not in the near future UNLESS it drops on PS+ or a summer freebie ;)
3. Finishing off FF7, ive come to realise now btw that guides over 10 hours dont fare too well, so I will not be making any more long guides, I will try and break them down more if over 10.
Same when too many, i think needs to be no more than 10.
TLOU2 is an exception, I have no idea why that did so well, I guess right place right time sort of thing!
Going into April, platinum guide for Oddworld Soulstorm and platinum guide for Horizon Zero Dawn straight after, hopefully both under 10hrs.
Then after those a guide for Returnal or mini guides for it depending on its mechanics, and then of course RESIDENT EVIL 8 OH YEA
Im hoping to get a early copy or RE8, if so probably no Returmal, but I doubt I will get..........

I've beat the game on hard and needed to do chapter 9 on hard again for the music disc so I know I needed to beat this again but with poison and fire being my only damaging magic I beat it. I mean I had the gotteramdam accessory which made it a LOT easier but I didn't expect how easy it would be. Now to get the music disc do a dance and bike trophy and I'm done

How do you avoid unleashing "Cutty and sweepy" ???
I don't remember mate, maybe just need to be quick. The speed at which we do it here causes him to skip some phases
If you're having trouble getting to this point with the same amount of MP, you actually don't have to cast level 3 spells to stagger the house. I only used one Aeroga, after the first house call part, and one Thundaga to start the last phase, and every other spell i used was just a level 2! Just keep pausing the game after each command he does, and do exactly what he does, and it will die!
Hello Opti, I know it's been awhile since you played this game, but I don't understand why I don't have enough SP for Aerith's Mythril Rod Sub-Core III Max Hp +200. I've followed you walkthrough to the letter and only have 12 Sp. You have 286 Sp total and I have 266. What am I doing wrong? I'll wait and hopefully get a response. I have time to spare. Thanks 👐

I’m currently playing the start of chapter 9 getting the dresses. I haven’t done any area challenges. I’ve been trying to follow your guide step by step and skipping about. I just beat Rude and just got here but you had that set up before I fought Rude, sorry. I haven’t ran into any arena battles unless you’re referring to Chadly. I'll play through chapter 22 and see what happens, and let you know. Maybe I haven't got to the hard mode arena battles yet. I've beat the game on normal, I just want platinum. I've given your channel to all my gaming friends, thanks again for all your diligence.
Did you get the Manuscripts for the Moogle shop and are you level 50??
Only way I could have more other than that is because I have done some different side quests and I have done other colliseum battles and/or combat simulator challenges
But if u have been following me closely, I can't work out why we are not the same, I don't recall doing anything major off screen other than levelling to 50

This is my 2nd play though and decided to use your channel for hard mode since you have utilized away to simplify hard modes mechanics and made it easier and I thank you for that. I just have to remember to get that skill later. I’ll just follow your chapters by number order until I get to the boss fights. I’m once again on chapter 9 beginning where the crane hands are located and haven’t gotten to the Hell House fight just yet, I’ll use your Super Guide to get what I possibly haven’t collected. I’m a completionalist when it comes to gaming. I can’t sleep until it’s 100%. I don’t want to take up anymore of your time and thanks again for everything. I will follow you from now on, I promise.
I likely got some additional Manus in NG then if you are only following me now.
You perhaps missed the Collisseum Aerith challenge on NG as usually for that, you have to backtrack at a specific point, very easily missed and I think that gives you a manu as well iirc

Ah yea, I can see that actually, its a nice consistent method where as long as u do the exact commands as me at the same pace, should all work out the same.
Not sure if u have looked at other guides, but I think usually they just go through the battle in realtime without pausing and give pointers along the way!
This way requires you to do it all fluidly, but I like that its very consistent. Any other way I think and it just becomes a matter of surviving.
A lot of the hard fights are like this, Abzu in Chapter 10 doesnt even get chancr to attack XD. That should have gone up already btw, but the audio commentary is all echo'ey so gotta do again
Top Secrets will likely be just like this, well I hope I can get a method consistent like this ;)

I know this fight can be a right pain in the ass, though with this strategy I use, for me, it makes it one of the easier fights.
And from whatvI watched/read of other hellhouse guides, I think my strategy is quite a unique one, so you likely havent engaged the boss in this way yet
Some havent been able to use my strategy effectively though, but maybe their materia wasnt levelled as much, or they had different weapon nodes equipped or something

I Did it With Just 100MP In Aerith
But Just Becuase I Used 'Soul Drain' At The Last Phase Where Hes Running The Walls to gain a lil mp Back And When He Use 'One' 'Do Spell' i use a low level magic to Cancel It And After Aerith died But Have Cloud Equipped With 'Gotterdammerung' And That Finishing Him Off and 3 Slices Extras whats he Needed to K.O And Hes Dead Thanks To You.
Crazy isnt it how some guides will just have you wasting stacks of time, then another works almost perfectly.
That said though, sounds like you improvised a bit so its more down to you. Perhaps James guide had just given you the neccessary experience xD

@optinoob Good morning / Afternoon / Evening 🤣🤣🤣. I saw the Resident Evil 2 Playlist. Honestly I'm a little confused reading the video titles, because I don't know which one to start from. So, I have finished the game 3/4 times Leon - Claire - Leon Claire ... I think he did so .... In fact I think I stopped at the third RUN ... never done, that is the same as saying I have never collected the collectibles, Speedrun, Grade-S, Mr Raccoon, Kill etc .. So I would like to ask you please, if you can give me "a tip" with which video to start, remembering that I already have finished the game time on Day One, so now I no longer have the saves, I would have to start all over again as if it were the first time. I have only the trophies I earned previously .... I wouldn't bother you, but there are too many videos of your various Run.
That's why I was asking you if you had an E-mail. It would be more convenient, but if you can't, I understand perfectly and write you under the videos. 🧟♂️🧟♀️

So m8, before I recommend what runs to follow, can I just confirm;
You no longer have your saves but have to start fresh, and you have the collectibles, speedrun, no box, no healing, hardcore S+ left to do right regarding trophies??
And I like comments here m8, as then others can see and over chats coupd help them rather than them having to ask the same thing ;)
@@Optinooby ok no problem man... I didn't want to bother you with the comments below by diverting the inherent video to another game. However, as you just wrote above, I no longer have anything of the old saves, so no collectibles etc ... Nothing at all .... except the trophies related to the history and the 3 runs that I did long ago. I repeat ... I start practically from 0 😂😂😂😂😂
So you need 2.7 playthroughs AT LEAST for the rest of the trophies as any 1st will unlock the 2nd, then doing that 2nd will unlock the other characters 2nd. ALL collectibles can be gotten in the 2nds and the 2nd have some exclusives, but ONLY a single 1st needs doing, hence the 2.7 playthroughs.
Now, I have this 1, looks to me like its 4 playthroughs as its one of my first platinum runs I did for it, but its under 10, not alp the parts have commentary though ruclips.net/video/ZVwePmfPb1U/видео.html

Yea, go in2 my playlists, and u will find RE0, RE1, RE2, RE3 and RE5 all done in this way.
Although some may not be named platinum guide, but im all for trophies and usually, if itsnot in the title, look for the 1/4 for example which will tell you 1 of 4 videos, which will all get u platinum in a efficient manner.
If u come across any and not sure, just ask in video comments and I'll let you know if gets you platinum or not ;)

Yeah this is fucked. This hell house piece of dog shit acts WAY different to yours. Mows both my characters down in seconds even with First Strike. Terrible cheap game design
If your numbers are a little off or you're using different spells or hitting in different places, it can change the fight drastically, are you sure everything is being followed exactly??
@@Optinooby thanks for the reply. I have the materias maxed except ATB boost, MP up and Magic up. They are around 3 star levels. I can get the hellhouse down to a quarter health but those robots take me out pretty much instantly. I found Hellhouse is weak to time magic but he only stops for about 20 seconds to get a few spells in. I might try continually casting Stop, Bioga and Blizzaga.
I also notice neither of your characters have any heal and revival materia. That's insane
As I say mate, if anything isn't exactly the same as mine, it's likely why it's not working the same. A lot of these strategies I employ are very specific, and if you have slightly different stats on anything, it can mean your stunning slightly later, doing a little less stagger etc etc and that is what makes the difference.
With all my boss strategies, I think the first time we have healing materia slotted is Chapter 14 Abzu

you literally saved my mental health, this fight got so me frustrated on hard your guide made it so easy for me everything happened exactly like you said and I did it on the 1st try after watching this. can't thank you enough man!
Thanks so much man, this fight made me stop playing the game on hard mode haha, but your guide made it really easy with the step by step instructions. I had to improvise with MP absorb materia on ice as I was on something like 117 MP going into the fight, but after a couple of tries I finally beat it.
ty so much my first time through hard mode was so rough on this boss and this 2nd time i didnt want to struggle ;w; worked perfect!
