Here is a Tifa unlimited ATB Setup that I quite like. I think it goes great with this video, and its fun as hell it also boost all allies ATB insanely quickly.
The only essential Materia for this build is Time, Skill Master, ATB Assist. All on Tifa. Magnify Time is amazing but magnify is useful for other things as well and isn't mandatory.
First strike, magnify, Steadfast Block and ATB Stagger and Refocus are all really good additions but are optional.
Soo the setup: Tifa (best girl)
Weapon: Feather gloves (Fastest speed = faster ATB)
Armor: Chain Bangle, because duh...
but she really doesn't need a ton of Materia for this build to be effective so feel free to give the chain bangle to someone else.
Accessory: Transference Module/Fury Ring/Gotterdamerung/enchanted ring/Champions Belt/Super gloves will all work the best.
Materia: Magnify----->Time. Skill Master. ATB Assist. (Do whatever you want from here but these are great options.--->) First Strike. Steadfast Block. Parry. ATB Stagger. Refocus.
Luck up x2. Chakra. Barrier (if you are running enchanted ring)
Summon Materia: Ifrit
*Battle Strategy*
Your starting Character is Tifa, you want to cast party haste on everyone, but if Magnify is on something else, then cast Haste on just tifa. As soon as you can Focus Strike. From here do any tifa Ability you want that is not haste or Focus strike.
This will proc Skill Master: THIS IS IMPORTANT!
Now repeat the last move you just did, which procs ATB Assist. Since you are in a new cycle with skill master this doesn't count against you and you only have to do 2 more moves to proc skill master again, and the last move can be repeated to proc ATB Assist.
Let me grid it out for you so you can see the op-ness of this build:
1. Tifa casts haste
2. Tifa does focus strike (this gives you back ATB)
3. Tifa does Overpower.
*Skill Master gives you a free ATB bar*
4. Tifa does Overpower immediately
*ATB Assist just boosted your Allies ATB*
5. Tifa does Focus Strike (Returns some ATB)
6. Tifa does dive Kick
*Skill Master gives you a free ATB Bar*
7. Tifa repeats Dive Kick
*ATB assist just boosted your allies ATB*
The pattern is super simple, try it for yourself, you can even use the same 3 moves if it seems a little complicated. But the Start needs to always be this:
Step 1. Haste
Step 2. Focus Strike
Step 3. Ability (Can't be haste or Focus strike, or you don't get the Skill Master, but it can literally be any spell or Ability that is not those 2)
*Proc Skill Master*
Step 4. Same ability as 3
*Proc ATB Assist*
Then think of always using this pattern from here:
Step 5.Focus strike will always be next since it returns ATB
Step 6. Any ability that isn't step 4 or focus strike
*Proc Skill Master*
Step 7: Repeat same as Step 6
*Proc ATB Assis*
Here's a break down loop of basically unlimited ATB for you and your allies: Just follow the numbers as steps and you'll quickly see the pattern.
1. Haste
2. Focus strike (returns ATB)
3. Unbridled rage
*Skill Master*
(Skill Master resets)
4. Unbridled Rage
*ATB Assist*
5. Focus Strike (returns ATB)
6. Chi Strike
*Skill Master*
(Skill Master Resets)
7. Chi Strike
*ATB Assist*
8. Focus Strike (returns ATB)
9. Diving uppercut
*Skill Master*
(Skill Master resets)
10. Diving Uppercut
*ATB Assist*
11. Focus Strike (returns ATB)

This is awesome for your allies as well due to the fact that you cast haste on them initially, and that ATB Assist you keep activating gets procced as often as skill master does. It's insane how fast she's building your allies ATB with this build, and you can seriously go almost non stop Abilities once the train gets rolling due to Tifa's naturally high speed, combined with her fastest gloves which is why they are chosen over metal knuckles, and then you are sped up with Haste. The transnference module as an accessory boosts your limit everytime you use ATB, and thats basically all Tifa is doing.
This also doesn't just work on Tifa, as Clouds disorder does what focus strike does, and returns Cloud some of His ATB, but her speed + the overall usefullness of her abilites as well as the fact that you are often doing her attacks twice in a row (2x Unbridled Rage back to back, 2x Over Power to quickly pressure, whirling uppercut into dive kick ad nauseum on staggered enemies, focus strike ad nausiem for ATB recovery, safety and staggers, 2x chi strikes to hold enemies, 2x true strike to get the highest possible damage boost on staggered foes, 2x starshower for max damage... this build just works better on Tifa, no offense to cloud mains.)

Damn, thanks for the tips, I’m amazed how fast this builds ATB. I’m currently trying to beat Pride and Joy for first time and this will be super fun to try out. Already had Skill master equipped just didn’t know how to use it.
With pride and joy be sure to use AGA spells first to stun lock enemies then the others In succession to regain ATB

i agree they did a wonderful job on final fantasy 7 remake. i cant wait for part 2. i have not bean using this strat but i will start.i am finding their is a lot of things i did not use my first play threw that i am using in my second .at some point i will be doing a hard mode play threw and i have already found some strats to make some of the harder bosses easier. i am greatfull people take the time to point out better strats for bosses. this game can be played in so many different ways it keeps me coming back for more.
Skill master on everyone + ATB assist with Cloud and using disorder is HUGE in keeping everyone’s ATB full! Nice work as always brotha

Does using ATB Boost count as a skill?
I haven’t watched the video yet but I loved Skillmaster and Steadfast Block with Barret as team lead. Steelskin, and any combination of focused shot/maximum fury, Chakra, Lifesaver, Overcharge worked well with his basic attacks to always have ATB.
Yo it works amazingly on every character especially Barret. If you have a gameplan or a specific rotation of combos to aim for then youre going to maximize the hell out of this build I love it

Cloud is usually the character I equip this materia on, especially when doing mixed magic and physical commands. I mainly used it in Normal mode though. In Hard mode, each character became more streamlined into using specific commands.
Well that really depends on the way you play it tbh. On hard mode i've been finding more use for skill master personally with being able to unleash nonstop attacks and keep them interrupted or pressured
@@BltzZ I guess its strange but the more aggressive I play the easier become the fights. I like the atb Materia more on M chars than HP ups or with an armor with defence up

Just started the OG FF7 run and really like that you read the dialog because most others just skip through it and play as fast as possible... I truly failed to appreciate just how insane Tifa's kit was on my initial run through normal mode (like how Chi level not only increases her basic attack damage but speeds up her animations as well effectively multiplying her DPS)
Mix in Haste and all the various ATB materia and she just becomes a monster. The only thing that really holds her back I find, is how relentless the AI is and I do sincerely hope that part 2 introduces some kind of enmity system - not just for Tifa and Aerith's sakes, but because Barret's superior tanking just goes to waste without one.
Yeah I hope so too because they have great enmity systems with FF14 I figure they can tweak the system for remake 2!
@@BltzZ I mean it's just NOT FUN trying to use Tifa or Aerith and the moment you do, all enemies instantly gun for you (especially dumb when an enemy special move is bejng charged and since you changed characters, it automatically adjusts)
I understand why they did it to a degree, but it went too far. Like the Provoke Materia is a complete joke, even maxed out since it has too long of a recast, requires you to be in the red, and can't be manually activated.

Nice explanation! I had to learn the nuances of how each materia behaves by commenting on the speed runs of top secret boss videos. Thanks for making it more accessible to the masses! One thing I would like cleared up is the queue order for skill master. Is it possible to start the order and recycle the same 3 abilities/spells OR does the next set of 3 moves need to be started with a new ability/spell in a different order? I heard that it was the latter but never bothered to test it out myself and just been doing 3 unique moves in unique orders.
Not a problem dude I'm happy to hear that these videos reach you guys well! From what I've seen and practiced you can reuse the same 3 different abilities and spells over and over again just fine! So triple slash Focused thrust disorder to triple slash Focused thrust disorder will work!
You can press charge at the end of charging uppercut to animation cancel into it like at the end of his ranged attack string.

The great thing about these setups r that even if it isnt ideal from a min/max POV, u can make up for inherent weaknesses. Example: transference module is a beast on Tifa while crescent moon charm is a beast on Barret for obvious reasons... but I actually carry each item on the other character to make up for a weakness and balance my team out. Tifa is close range and immediately in harm's way...so if she gets hit as the CPU while I fight with Cloud or if I use her and switch off her when an unavoidable attack is coming I can really preserve her. Barret being long range and having the highest defense means I'm barely getting limits with him...him using alot of 2 atb attacks means I get to charge my limit way better

Okay I really like this game but I don't like hard mode but for now I am working my way through hard mode as far as I possible can trying to get all the manuscript I can. Before I found this video I was stuck back on the Airblaster boss think that the name back on Chapter 7 but thanks to some of your guides along with 1 or 2 videos from other people I just beat the boss on Chapter 13 and made it to chapter 14. So I wanted to give you a huge THANK YOU. Without this video alone I would have already given up on hard mode back in chapter 7.
Oh dude I'm happy to hear that I helped you get by! My biggest tip for hard mode going forward is to use enemy skill a lot to save MP. Generally save your MP up till final bosses of chapters then go ham with it. Constantly keep on switching characters and you're good!
@@BltzZ well I am looking at it right now and I will still have to go back to chapter 9 and refight Hell House again after completing all side Missions in chapter 8 to get the last Manuscript on there. Chapter 14 shows 8 manuscripts are there really 8 boss fights in that Chapter? Chapters 15 and 16 are only showing 1 manuscript each so I guess they each only have 1 boss fight each so when I get to those I will watch guides and try to struggle my way through but it's the last 2 chapters that sorta turn into a Boss Rush some of which gave me some trouble on easy mode that really scare me and I have yet to even beat the Ice Summon on the final simulation battle that may be to tough for me but hey everyone has got to know thier limits.
In chapter 14 most of those manuscripts are from the extra side missions you do as tifa Barret and cloud. Like the tiara side quests, the behemoth side quest etc. Just knock all the possible side quests out and you're good to go. They're not all bosses. Collect the Music as you go along too if you can
@@BltzZ well on the music discs I already gotten all but 1 and it is chapter 14 and I have watched a guide on it and gotten on another save file so shouldn't be a problem just beat the ghosts in the graveyard to save the kids so 1 side mission done

If using atb assist materia. You can start battles against tougher foes with a triple strike two focused strikes and a disorder or couhterstance

I always put skillmaster on my characters even though I sucked at using it. They would randomly proc during longer battles simply by me eventually using 3 different commands. Saved me in some boss fights in my hard mode run.
Do you know if using items or summon skills proc skillmaster?
Unrelated question, but do you know if you can cancel the recovery frames of all of Tifas abilities into parry?
The only ability you cannot cancel out of with parry is Star shower to my knowledge. I never used skill master at all and now my mind is racing thinking of the possibilities when using it properly items and summon skills I am not sure I have not tested those unfortunately!
@@BltzZ Cancelling Tifas moves with Parry is so much fun. I hope they make Vincent and Yuffie have even more movement options in the sequel.
I only used skill master in hard so no items and I almost never used summons in hard so I also don't know the answer to that. I'm curious though. Maybe a followup video down the line.
I've moved on to other games but still checking out videos for FF7r. It's my favourite game in the recent years for sure. I'm following FF7r in the speedrun scene as well, hoping a FF7r run will get into the next GDQ. Results will be revealed tomorrow!

@@zhaf yuffie can literally parry every attack in the game. i'm mean an actual parry. if you it right you can put regen, and both types of barrier on her.

Hey not a problem. For tifa it's best to use Focused Strike, Overpower and chi trap. Or any variation of the 3 or other abilities

I believe you mentioned this in the video, but I just wanna really be sure I understand. Let's say we use 2 unique commands and we accidentally repeated command #2. When we finally use unique command #3, will Skill Master still proc?
It will work. The game saves moves even if you repeat the same command.
Yup that's exactly how it works! It pauses the queue basically and will give you atb once you use the unique command #3

what are the specific benefits of Disorder other than changing stance at the end?
I like your final fantasy vii remake videos are very instructive. I am getting the manuscripts that give 10 SP for each character, my question is the following: when I get all the manuscripts will I be able to complete all the core and subcore of all the weapons, is there enough SP to complete them?
Yup! You can complete all cores when you obtain all manuscripts. You need 250+ to unlock all 5 cores but once you officially get all the hard mode manuscripts you can max out all weapons! Yo, Skill Master works with ATB Assist. Try with Tifa to do a Focused Thrust followed by a dive kick. The others will gain ATB
I’ve had infinite ATB because they all gain it and boost each other
ATB manipulating cityyy! That's funny I tested this out as well on Saturday hehe you may see a video about it
Also, I have a general question about Tifa. Why is it worth it to use Unbridled Strength in the first place? To be honest, I almost never get thru her full combo string, specially when her Chi is leveled up as her later moves in the combo string are VERY slow and honestly don't do that much damage. And with how hectic battles are, you usually want to be expending ATB and doing moves instead of just a normal attack string, so I don't really see how it's that valuable.
The only thing valuable about it is how her Triangle attack improves and raises the Stagger percentage. The actual attack combo being extended doesn't seem to be that valuable in my experience as it's just too slow and doesn't do that much damage anyway. Rarely will the enemy be patient enough to let you actually get thru a full Rise & Fall level attack combo. And by rarely I mean almost never, specially on Hard Mode.

You can swap between characters, and yes you can use it on multiple party members as well. You can purchase 3 skill master materias from chadley. Also putting ATB assist on one of those characters goes a extremely long way in making sure you never stop attacking!
Does swapping characters cancel Skill Master for that person and start over or does keep it running? I feel like I will have to test this out on Fat Chocobo later, lol. Also how many party members do you recommend ATB assist on at a time?
There is only 1 ATB assist materia unfortunately in the game :(.. but no actually you don't have to worry about starting over you can always swap back to the character and use it just fine!

Honestly, I don't know if I've been using Tifa's Focused Strike wrong, but it really doesn't seem to increase the Stagger gauge that much even when the enemy is Pressured. It increases it by a tiny little bit... Makes it feel like I'd be better off just using something else that does more damage instead.
Focused Strike is kind of slow & has a long recovery time, thus it doesn't feel very useful. If it actually raised the Stagger Meter by a decent amount then that'd be different. It adds a lot less Stagger than Cloud's Focused Thrust which is a shame.

Currently trying to beat this on pc with hard mode mods, all enemies have 60% extra health, levels dont improve stats as much, enemies take longer to stagger and materia has more of a negative effect on the charater with a complete rebalance of weapon stats, strugling to beat it in the timer, for example of strengh my thundara does like 300hp damage.

Yup, either 3 abilities or 3 spells. Or 3 abilities and spells. So Triple Slash, Focused Thrust and Disorder. Or Fire, Fira Firaga. Or Triple Slash, Fire, Disorder. Etc

Again a great Guide but I don't think that ATBStagger+SkillMstr is always a good(or right) combo because I happens me often and I saw this in this guide too; when you got your atb at full, get the enemy staggert plus the skill master activates so you should get 2 atb bars but you can't cause your atb is already at full. In you video it didn't made any difference but in my battles if often did. I personally think that each of this atb materias works the best with a specialized build or char. I don't like skill master on Tifa. On Tifa I have 90%of the time atb Assist plus Atb Stagger(maybe steadfstBlck+parry) . You get her atb so fast at full so in almost every fight skill master ist not needed. Better use is on a mage/healer/support. In my opinion is almost every time a waste on a damage dealer. But maybe I'm not good enough in planning what skills I use and when. ✌️✌️
Oh yeah most definitely maybe with refocus on this will be further enhanced too since you will have 3 atbs to gain off of thanks to the atb stagger and skill master combo. On tifa I always had atb assist on her but now i think skill master without it can be a game changer depending on what enemy you're fighting of course. The builds are always changing
@@BltzZ no doubt It can but as u said You need much practice to not waste any atb with to much atb combos. Actually Ive seen no one who uses atb Boost with refocus. On tifa you get all 3 atb parts almost when the batlle starts. And you don't need a firstStrk. Maybe you can use this advice on you aerith skill master build. I'm really excited for the text build cause I'm usually like you and stayed away from skillmstr. ✌️

Yup, 3 different commands in a row and you can even repeat that same combo again. Which is awesome and super flexible! So for cloud I think the best options for him is triple slash disorder and focused Thrust. For tifa overpower, Focused Strike and Chi trap but she's very flexible
@@BltzZ ooo this is awesome. I'm just trying it out. I must say I think it's better to start with disorder if you are facing a single enemeny and triple slash if you fight multiple enemies. Did you know that disorder gives more atb if used in operaterMode but it pressures more when used in punisher mode

What about using atb ward on aerith and every time she gets atb so does everyone else?
It's a good strategy as long as you're OK with aerith losing ATB from them gaining it. Aerith deals the most damage so I think it's best if she continues to attack and feeds everyone ATB with skill master. ATB has it's uses but it's reward isn't that big of a bonus to use too. Because the AI is silly and constantly moves off the ward making it inefficient sometimes haha. Same happens with arcane ward but specifically that works out for double damage at times.

Square Enix.... PLEASE MORE MATERIA SLOTS IN THE NEXT GAME!!! So many good ones in this version and coming up hopefully to not have more slots, especially with broken ass stuff like Skill Master I've never gotten to use because of lack of slots.
Yup I'd also prefer for majority of these materias to be implemented as skills..such as parry materia or deadly dodge. I think they should be tied to skills and not take up slots
@@BltzZ I also want room for stuff like Contain and Comet when they hopefully give it to us. There is so much overpowered Materia in the original. I could see them removing Quadra Magic, Mime, and Counter though. Those absolutely break late game of the original. I glitched in a Gold Chocobo on my last run and got Quadra Magic before I got Cloud back and started nuking people with Quadra Magic/Comet. Mime/Counter speaks for itself, I murdered both Weapons in one try with them. Knights/Magic Counter and Mime/Counter to do it twice, and the Weapons can't counter Counters.
P.S. I agree about Parry and Deadly Dodge to a point, I like being able to link them with HP Absorption though.

Maybe it's just me, but the scariest part of the Remake at this point is that if the battle system doesn't change in any substantial way, the future games will be far too easy. We're already learning insane tricks from sharing information and experimentation, as well as optimization. If Remake 2 releases and it's roughly the same, we're going to know how to use these characters so well that nothing will be a challenge.
Square can always rebalance the materia in later games. FFX-2 (regular) to the International Version, they completely reworked some broken chains in the game.
Materia rebalancing most definitely will be a thing they look into. But there also will be a whole new library of materia at our disposal like in the OG...hopefully. I see them reworking combat a bit in terms of the camera angles and aerial combat as well

For sure I'm positive they will crunch the stats and damage numbers. We can't be hitting 9999s at level 50 in part 2s beginning. Either level 50 is still present but our stats are dropped. Or it's level 7 all over again

At first it looks that way but it really is not. Just use 3 different moves, triple slash, focused thrust and disorder. Then repeat the same three again if you choose to. Or go with spells and do fire fira then firaga. Or you can mix the two together and go Triple slash, fire, Disorder. Or you can do Fire Firaga triple slash

First I thought it was because I was in the normal difficulty but as soon I reached the chapter on hard I tried it out and no matter what fight I get only 30%. Maybe you Americans got a easy version like always 😂.

I gotta admit I really don't like this games stamina bar system; it just feels so shoehorned in and not intuitive at all. for one it should replenish without attacking, and you should absolutely be given more than two or three at a time. Not simplifying it, just make it less conditional and a product of rationing materia. Also, i really did not get the point behind Clouds two stances, also there are just attacks in this game that you can't dodge and normal attacks felt far too weak, and alternatively everything else too strong.

Nonstop fire and make sure to checkout the stagger pressure video I have it's super important to everything in this game! When enemies are pressured you need to use focused moves to deal max stagger
There will be no remake part 2. There was never a remake part 1. The only reason it was called remake is because it's sephiroths remake of the sequence of events. Hence why the next FF7 game will have a new title.
Good point actually! One thing I didn't notice is one of the first promo arts about Sephiroth for remake was him with his one wing. But he does not have his black one wing until advent children so this is definitely future Sephiroth here trolling us
