1. Go to Settings 2. Tap Connections 3. Tap WI-FI 4. Tap ADVANCED (top right corner) 5. Tap KEEP WI-FI on During Sleep and click or pick "While Charging" This will stop your Android Device (Tablet of Phone) from draining your battery when not in use. I left my Tab S3 inside my bag for 3 days when I turn it on it only used or drained 3% of my battery.
i use my tablet every evening when i get home from work, i have all the same apps as on my phone in it, but the bigger screen just makes everything more comfortable and easy. Great channel by the way Kat!
I need to make digital handwritten notes for my class, should I buy this or wait for the ipad 2018 model to hit retail and buy an apple pencil. Handwriting quality is my only priority....
This review was super useful for me, thanks a lot! Please keep making awesome reviews, your style of reviewing is really helpful. This is first time for me to comment on a review.
Activate the setting that turns off wifi when the screen is off (from the wifi settings menu). This solves the ridiculous battery drain on stand-by. This applies to all android devices.
Just discovered your channel, and I have to say that I really enjoy your videos so far! Keep up the enthusiasm! Also, it would be nice if you would add polls in to your videos! You can ask people their opinions for example!
In my hunt for the PERFECT tablet, I opted for the Tab S (mine is the 8.4" but there's also a 10.5" with same specs). They have an Exynos 5 Octa 5420 processor and 3Gb RAM, 16/32Gb storage). I don't like the 4:3 aspect ratio for the newer tablets, instead preferring (on Tab S) the 16:10 ratio (1600 x 2560 pixels). These two models are also ultra thin & light: 8.4" is 298g and the 10.5" is 467g (both are 6.6mm thin). Although released in 2014 (mine was manufactured January 2015) they're still great tablets. Obviously being an older model, the Android version is older too. If you're not shy about installing custom ROMs (like me) then there's an active development community at xda-developers.com (mine is running RR 7.1.2 beautifully). Watching videos on this is a real pleasure & battery use overnight is 1-2% =)
Yeah Great video + very informative, I have just switched from a I-Pone 6s plus to the Samsung S8+ Which after taking ages to get used to it I Now love it and wouldn't go back to apple products, And as your previous replier stated WoW you are so Beautiful!!!!
nice review! i didn't realize the iPad Pro lagged when writing with the Pencil! for bluelight filter you can download the app Twilight which lets you control how strong the blue light filter is.
Most reviews I've watched showed Apple Pencil with IPad Pro being actually much faster than S-Pen on Galaxy Tab S3, yet you and the girl from the video seem to believe that quite the opposite is actually the case...
I am really loving the tab s3. I went to the trouble to order one from Amazon as there is still no word on a release date in Australia yet. My only real issue was that the colour seemed a little off, which I think you might have touched on as well. Whether it was to help eye strain or something else, I came across a simple solution to return a more natural look to videos and pictures. Under the display settings I adjusted the red to about 50%, which has left me with a picture quality to boast about. I hope that others might find this helpful as well.
Just so you know, the Doze function in Android has made the drain of the battery not be as crazy bad as that 20% while it's asleep but your Tab S3 should have that function
First of all, congratulations to a very nice review. Very watchable also thanks to your positive attitude and enthusiasm. Good information for everyday users. Secondly, that's a really sweet accent you have. In general a very nice pronunciation, some of your your consonants (p, b, t, d) are a little more on the plosive rather than aspired side but it's not a latino accent, also one missed article, so that said, I'd conclude that it's a Slavic accent. But it's not Czech, Slovak or Polish...closer to the first two though, so maybe Slovenian? Cute 🙂
I want an Android tablet to load the apps that I created for example a POS app and print a receipt with a thermal printer connected via Bluetooth to finally show the app to the client or future client.
+Paul Enriquez-Goehring that is awesome news. I'm dreaming if the day, when i could do all my handwritten notes on a tablet :) and then have it translate that into normal print text, that would be more than amazing 🤣🤣
Currently I'm using the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 with 4G support.. Its made of metal and plastic material.. So it's sturdy and not a fingerprint magnet. I use my tablet for watching RUclips, movies & TV shows.
Narendra Bondade Hi mate. I am currently using the same tablet as well. And I wonder did you update your OS to 7.0 ? If yes, do you realized any battery drain issues or performance issues?
Said Doğan Etiler yes my tab has been updated to Android 7.0 about a month back.. But I've not noticed any major battery issues.. It seems to be the same as it was previously.
Said Doğan Etiler I feel it's smooth.. As I said I use it only for watching TV shows, movies and RUclips videos.. These don't require very high usage. How are you using your tab? It may be due to the apps u've installed..
Narendra Bondade I don't use pc because tablets feels more mobile. Because of that my tab s2 is like my pc. And I use it literally for everything. But even that, when I first get this tablet it's like an admiral ship of samsung. But after I updated 5.0 to 7.0 it's get much worse. As I said I've suffered battery drain and performance problem. If someone read this comment who has tab s2, DON'T UPDATE YOUR TABLET :D really don't..
Tablets are great, but I use a 12.2" Android Tablet, Im curious how gaming on a SnapDragon 820 compares to Tegra X1. I have a Pixel C and I'm not sure if I want to upgrade to the Tab S3. I do take a lot of notes on my Note pro 12.2.
I'm pretty sure that if you turn off the WiFi radio when you know you wont need it for a while that there won't be background processes draining the battery.
So Kat, you're saying there's no pen lag at all? Was there any delay at all when you committed the tip to the screen (for writing or drawing)? I find that completely inexcusable in modern devices - hell they even had better response in the old Psion 7 laptops from 17 years ago (ruclips.net/video/6KS2YRGggmQ/видео.html). As for reading and the blue tint - did you use a standard built in function to mitigate excessive blue light or did you use something like the 3rd party blue light filters? I've not tried them on AMOLED (I have two Tabs, a Tab S 8.4 AMOLED and an original Tab P1000 from 2012, I use the bluelight filter app on that only).
nice comment about the tablet, i her you really like it. i got the s3 too and love it like my ipad. i do not want to miss it anymore..... p.s. like your enthusiasm, vote and look ;))
I got this and it got a crack on the second day. I didn't drop it just placed it lightly on the table and saw the crack when I picked it up. I was waiting for my case to arrive.
Its wonderful tap and I love it so much but my device drops in water and there is no repair part in my country plz tell me what can I do I only use for one day
Are there any app for android that will draw straight lines är round cirkels, just like goodnotes on iOS ? I'm a engineering student that's looking for a tablet to take notes on, and really like the s3 , but I don't want to have to use a ruler to get straight lines
I just got this tablet to use at university, I can't wait to the semester starts so I can see how well it will do to take notes (math and physics student, so notes are much easier to write by hand and not on a laptop). Just from my initial testing with hand writing on it, I have the same thing with not having very nice handwriting, but it seems to look good enough on the tablet :P
A good video. As to tablets, I am interested only in taking notes on them. But I am a serious note taker and I also like my notes to look pretty. So I do not know of this tablet will do. I saw in the video that trails of pens on the screen do not look pretty. To me they look what cheapest pens look on paper. I would also really like to see a video covering oy note taking with this and other tablets. Thanks.
My Tab S3 does not drain by 20%. Perhaps your one did an auto update? Also try to switch off Wi-Fi when in sleep mode. I agree this is a great tablet. Use it for hand written notes, personal organisation. I have Word format Filofax stationary.
HI!Do you recommend this tablet to go to class and use it to Word,PDF,Powerpoint,Google and RUclips?I'm looking for a tablet what I can use to class and Also to my free time. I Hope your answer 😁
im planning to buy this...but cannot make up my mind over this or the ipad pro...😑 Huawei mediapad m3 also good...and would going for the Samsung tabpro s be better? 🤔🤔🤔
This may be a stupid question, but it has been a while since you reviewed this tablet. How has it aged? Is it still worth its weight, and what about the screen since it's an AMOLED screen have you experienced any screen burn-ins, or anyone else like to chime in the comments about their experience?
Does Tab S3 well work with PowerPoint software? What about connecting to the LCD for the presentation? Can I do correction/editing my slides presentation
@kat4K When you are writing with the stylus pen on the Tab S3 does the tab only detect your pen input? What if you rest your hand on your tab, does it mistakenly make marks on the screen of your hand touching the screen?
+Narendra Bondade veeeery rarely. It is more sensitive arround the buttons. For example i was resting my palm on the screen while writing and sometimes it acceddntaly pressed the next page button in the bottom right corner.
+Kat4k Does the stylus pen connect to the tab S3 using Bluetooth? In that way when you are writing it will detect only input from the the stylus and not your palm accidently touching the screen. Or is it only a regular stylus? One more Q: is it worth upgrading from Galaxy Tab S2 to Tab S3?
The s-pen stylus is detected at a certain distance if the stylus is close to the screen the tablet turns off touch input so you can press your hand with no problem, once the stylus is away from the screen touch input is disabled. in some apps you can configure so that only pen input is for writing and then use your hand for other things like selecting.
Would have been nice if the Keyboard covers had a camera hole, because if I want to take a photo, I have to take the cover off, which is a little annoying
Just saw your video on s3 9.7. You must have reviewed a faulty unit. My speakers are phenomenal. They are clear, loud and super stereo. The battery doesn't drain as yours did. As for it being fragile; you should watch some of the drop tests. Oh, and I have no problem reading on it.
To keep the battery life great while in standby time be sure to turn on airplane mode and kill background apps then it should be fine. I left my phone on standby and didn't charge it the other night plus forgot to turn on airplane mode and it lost 1% to 3% so if the tab S3 lost around 20% per day it would have to have been a rogue app running in the background or could be a wakelock issue but either way airplane mode will fix that and use the built-in app sleeper before putting it away. There's also the break-in period for the battery which is roughly a week maybe more from the time you bought it I've had no issues with my Tab S3 on the battery area.
nice review, very nice voice and love how passionate you are about tech. I want to ask you: Would you reccomend this tablet or the previous Tab S2? or maybe something else? :) thanks!
Woah thats a gorgeous Tab, finally a great looking Tab. Though you got me a bit down when you said speakers weren't that good. A question here, are they as good as the ones on an iPad mini 4 or worse? I mean if you had the chance to try one ofc. Because that little thing sounds awesome. Thank you Kat. Awesome review.
For phones, I love Android. And Apple's iPad is my tablet of choice. I love it for it's great battery life which is perfect for which I mostly use it for --> media consumption. I can use my tablet for RUclips all-day long.
Nice video again Kat ! I went for the Samsung tab A 10.1inch (T585 i think) with the 16 10 aspect ration (great for videos) and i think it also has a 7300 mah battery. Performance wise the S3 trumps it, not to mention the stylus and stylus support, guess it depends what you want from your tech. And as you said you dont really need it but then again its great to watch a video or read a book while keeping the luggage small !
Good review ! Well what a time to this review when i am stuck with this for reading at the moment . Well my one, when screen locked, its literally 0.5% battery drain per day and i am amazed by that . Try factory resetting the device, and check the results again .And try to mention the benchmarking scores next time ! :)
+Ahmed Shams i factory reset it when i received it (the first day of use), so the problem should be somewhere else. But it's good to know your experience! 😃 You probably haven't seen much of my reviews - i almost never do specs, let alone benchmarks. They feel useless to me, i'm here for the experience of tech 😉😊
Hello beautiful! I currently own this device and I'm lovin' it, especially the SPen! Ya u r right, Kindle is so much better for reading. I find this device great for movies, also the speakers are awesome ! It is a bit expensive here in Switzerland though.
Hi Kat nice video. I have same idea as Frazer Gomes. Videos and films are better on my Tab 2S 8 inch. Not that comfortable to hold for long periods but use a stand to help. ☺️
I just got one and it is amazing for an experience in video games since in the cell phone it is very annoying if you have such a small screen, the support for the control of xbox one via bluetooth was a pleasant surprise since the demanding games like MC5 with large Graphics process them easily, if android wants to enter the field of consoles tablets would be the appropriate medium
Had the iPad pro 9.7, didn't liked iOS (due to its restrictive nature). So returned it. I am confused between this and Microsoft surface Pro 4. Did anyone told you that you have absolutely gorgeous eyes!? Holy shit, I am drooling over them!
My iPad mini 4 is for watching RUclips, Netflix, Twitch in places I wouldn't take my laptop; bathroom, bed, vacation. I like it for reading and now that my girlfriend is in school she likes to use it for Quizlet and what not.
1. Go to Settings
2. Tap Connections
3. Tap WI-FI
4. Tap ADVANCED (top right corner)
5. Tap KEEP WI-FI on During Sleep and click or pick "While Charging"
This will stop your Android Device (Tablet of Phone) from draining your battery when not in use. I left my Tab S3 inside my bag for 3 days when I turn it on it only used or drained 3% of my battery.
+Mark Catt this is super usefull, thanks Mark!! 😃🙌

+Frazer GOMES thank you for your comment! :D
I like the way you present things. You deliver information in a such pleasant way.
I love your enthusiasm. You make simple things interesting.
+Rodrigo Sze 😊
Just tried it for a couple of minutes and really loved the stylus & speakers, AMAZING ! .. Can't wait for the official release in my country !
I think you're the first girl that I've watched doing tech vlog! I love it 👍👍
I'm watching your video on my new Samsung tab 3 now as we speak😁😁😁 I love it
good job for taking on this hobby which could turn into something more , you are unique playful and wish you success.
+Livnow Befree thanks! 😃
I like the way you explain things, your enthusiasm, you tips and suggestions. Hope you keep on review tech and gadgets stuff
+Arman Kison thank you!! 😃

genuine and cool review, and such an authentic reviewer ...
Fantastic video! Keep it up!
Just a small correction. you have manual settings of blue light filter, so you can choose the amount of yellow colour on the paper...
Just discovered your channel, and I have to say that I really enjoy your videos so far! Keep up the enthusiasm!

nice review! i didn't realize the iPad Pro lagged when writing with the Pencil! for bluelight filter you can download the app Twilight which lets you control how strong the blue light filter is.
+Tech Coolness See, but why would you need ANOTHER app, to control a build in function? It should be part of the system. :) But thanks for the info 😉
Tab S3 maybe alternative iPad Pro...?
+RulliGuitar yes, a very good alternative 😊
RulliGuitar only downside is apps. But my iPad Pro with the pencil actually lags and it will skip a lot when writing or drawing.
Galaxy tab S Pro is te competence to ipad pro, tab s3 is competence to ipad.
Most reviews I've watched showed Apple Pencil with IPad Pro being actually much faster than S-Pen on Galaxy Tab S3, yet you and the girl from the video seem to believe that quite the opposite is actually the case...

Getting one for uni. Hopefully will start reading my notes from now on since I never open my papernotes.
How is it?
Great review, I really love the tablets of Samsung ^^ their screens are so bright thanks to amoled!
I was here to learn how is having Galaxy tab s3 couldn't stop starring at you.
Very nice explaining user experience, you're very beautiful :3
First of all, congratulations to a very nice review. Very watchable also thanks to your positive attitude and enthusiasm. Good information for everyday users. Yessssss, good guess!! I’m Slovenian! 😁😃🙌
I have Tab S3 with a keyboard..They did it right with the update, so no more battery drain,.,...
+MILJAN M. Awesoooome!!
I'm a little late but you can turn the blue light a little bit off in the settings
Now you can, yes :)
I want an Android tablet to load the apps that I created for example a POS app and print a receipt with a thermal printer connected via Bluetooth to finally show the app to the client or future client.
The new iPad Pro that was just announced yesterday barely has any latency with the Apple Pencil anymore
+Paul Enriquez-Goehring that is awesome news. I'm dreaming if the day, when i could do all my handwritten notes on a tablet :) and then have it translate that into normal print text, that would be more than amazing 🤣🤣
kat4K I remember when I used to take notes on my windows tablet the one-note app could transform my handwriting into print format.
nice review loved your work 👍
Currently I'm using the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 with 4G support.. Its made of metal and plastic material.. So it's sturdy and not a fingerprint magnet. I use my tablet for watching RUclips, movies & TV shows.

Almost two years latter. What now? Battery life, pen, still fast?

I like your channel lots of information I have got😍😍
you're review so nice! thank you
when will you do a review of the new samsung s8?. btw great video already subbed and notification on😀
A good video. As to tablets, I am interested only in taking notes on them. But I am a serious note taker and I also like my notes to look pretty. So I do not know of this tablet will do. My Tab S3 does not drain by 20%. Perhaps your one did an auto update? Also try to switch off Wi-Fi when in sleep mode. I agree this is a great tablet. Use it for hand written notes, personal organisation. I have Word format Filofax stationary.
+B Shah That's the second comment about battery, maybe there truly was something wrong. I might put a disclamer in the description.
B Shah it's just Android, it will never be as good as iOS on standby time.. (I left iOS more than a year and a half year ago, so I'm not a fanboy)
if you know you're gonna leave it sitting there for a while close all the app & like B Shah said turn the wifi off. Shouldn't drain nearly as much.
HI!Do you recommend this tablet to go to class and use it to Word,PDF,Powerpoint,Google and RUclips?I'm looking for a tablet what I can use to class and Also to my free time. I Hope your answer 😁
With your battery life, it might just be that unit. I have one (IS AMAZING) and if I leave it for a day I usually get about 7% drain.
+Imogen Shade that's great! 😃 yeah, it might be that singles unit problem 😔
i was asking myself the same thing, what if we had these great tablets a couple of years ago in college?
im planning to buy this...but cannot make up my mind over this or the ipad pro...😑
Huawei mediapad m3 also good...and would going for the Samsung tabpro s be better? 🤔🤔🤔
+Minmin Li wou, too many choices! :D
This what I am looking for, is the handwriting be author correction or does this convert from hand writing to normal keyboard font?
This may be a stupid question, but it has been a while since you reviewed this tablet. How has it aged? Is it still worth its weight, and what about the screen since it's an AMOLED screen have you experienced any screen burn-ins, or anyone else like to chime in the comments about their experience?
Does Tab S3 well work with PowerPoint software? What about connecting to the LCD for the presentation? Can I do correction/editing my slides presentation
I have a question does RUclips have black bars and is there a way to fill the black bars if they do exist?
@kat4K When you are writing with the stylus pen on the Tab S3 does the tab only detect your pen input? What if you rest your hand on your tab, does it mistakenly make marks on the screen of your hand touching the screen?
+Narendra Bondade veeeery rarely. It is more sensitive arround the buttons. For example i was resting my palm on the screen while writing and sometimes it acceddntaly pressed the next page button in the bottom right corner.

in some apps you can configure so that only pen input is for writing and then use your hand for other things like selecting.
ipad pro has lagging problem while writing??? i hardly doubt
Would have been nice if the Keyboard covers had a camera hole, because if I want to take a photo, I have to take the cover off, which is a little annoying
Can you draw straight lines? Like does it automatically correct it straight. I want to use it for electronic circuit design
I'm looking to buy this one. But this tablet is not launched in India. I'm planning to use this for my teaching
I use mine for media consumbtion, and to study....
love yer vids too :0
Hey kat u know anything of fhe nvidia shield tablet k1?im thinking of getting this or the nvidia..its a huge price diff..
Does the S3 use a mini sim card on the cellular compatible one?
Just saw your video on s3 9.7. You must have reviewed a faulty unit. My speakers are phenomenal. They are clear, loud and super stereo. The battery doesn't drain as yours did. As for it being fragile; you should watch some of the drop tests. Oh, and I have no problem reading on it.
Okay Kat, the problem with Samsung tablets is that they won't get future android updates in a timely fashion or not at all....
nice video
keep it up kat
ps: u look stunning🤗

To keep the battery life great while in standby time be sure to turn on airplane mode and kill background apps then it should be fine.
:) thanks!
So...power saving mode when not using it?

+FoReVeR i compared them with iphone 7 (a bit better in S3) and MacBook 11Retina and here the tiny MacBook takes the huge win.
Thank you Kat.
Hi kat, meow 😙😘😚 so this tab S3 internal memory is it 32 gb?
Hey ....can you tell Mee how much it in Bangladesh.....???
For phones, I love Android.
And Apple's iPad is my tablet of choice. I love it for it's great battery life which is perfect for which I mostly use it for --> media consumption. I can use my tablet for RUclips all-day long.
turn off wifi will is on stand by, check wifi settings
What's the eye liner you used??
Nice video again Kat ! I went for the Samsung tab A 10.1inch (T585 i think) with the 16 10 aspect ration (great for videos) and i think it also has a 7300 mah battery. Performance wise the S3 trumps it, not to mention the stylus and stylus support, guess it depends what you want from your tech. And as you said you dont really need it but then again its great to watch a video or read a book while keeping the luggage small !
+Mondi1911 yes! 😃
Mondi1911 there is a new revision of the tab a6 10.1 with spen check it out
Good review !
You probably haven't seen much of my reviews - i almost never do specs, let alone benchmarks. They feel useless to me, i'm here for the experience of tech 😉😊
kat4K Yeah i observed that . anyhow keep doing it your way !
what are you think about sony xz :) please important for me
There’s a b&w mode for reading
Hi, is it easy to root & enter recovery mode? I have first gen Tab S 10, difficult to enter recovery mode, so not rooted yet.
+sugi arto sorry, have no info on that.
Did you used the chrome desktop on it? Was it fast to depend on it for remotely main access device?
+yasser arkan sorry, i don't think i fully understand your question. Yes, i did use chrome for internet browsing.
Good video! Thank you
Question: Which tablet do you prefer for writing? I pad or galaxy tab ? I'll go to buy tomorrow, but I didn't decide yet
Hello beautiful! I currently own this device and I'm lovin' it, especially the SPen! Ya u r right, Kindle is so much better for reading. I find this device great for movies, also the speakers are awesome ! It is a bit expensive here in Switzerland though.
really beautiful!!! and the tablet too..
Do you accidentally hit the back and home button white writing?
Of course i did. I'm clumsy 😂🙈
Got mine a few days ago. I love it but I got disappointed when I knew it does not support hdmi connection to a projector. :(
+Mark Lexter De Lara but it does have HDMI right? How come it doesn't support projectors? There has to be an app for that! 🙂
Plastic -> Plastic is not premium -> Glass back -> Slippery -> Get a cover -> Plastic
*sigh*
+M Stuart yeah, i know, it's the endless loop if you want to keep your devices in pristine condition 😔
There's no please Stuarts I bet is first name is Matthew!dull dull dull.. Why bother Matthew Stuart with two TT for TiT lol
is there anywhere to attach the pen to the tablet,
+Emrah Suna sadly no.
kat4K Thank you. I just bought this tablet. Im Loving it.
Hi Kat nice video. I have same idea as Frazer Gomes. Videos and films are better on my Tab 2S 8 inch. Not that comfortable to hold for long periods but use a stand to help. ☺️
Wow you're gorgeous! Girl crush at first sight. Keep it up girl!
Camera is great for scaning documents.
+Konzu nice! 😃
Does it have palm rejection when you write and can it run vsco?
+mmarsbarr it does have palm rejection that worked quite nicely. I'm not sure about vsco. If vsco has an android tablet app, then yes 😊
I like your channel :)
My iPad mini 4 is for watching RUclips, Netflix, Twitch in places I wouldn't take my laptop; bathroom, bed, vacation. I like it for reading and now that my girlfriend is in school she likes to use it for Quizlet and what not.
thanks for the review ..
What do you study? You have an amazing channel btw
+Lea Kolar thanks! 😃 i study social informatics.
