What I don't like about this remote & MP3 is that if you lose picture for any reason ,you have no idea if your craft has fallen , flown away or even an idea of direction. Their should ALWAYS be digital information shown on a remote in case of loss of vision. You also have lag at times which you have no clue as there is no real time info .
One of my things is that it is labeled as a 6k drone when it’s 5.4k, wouldn’t bother me as much if they weren’t lying abt the res cause of the air 2s’s 5.4k res. Bothers me that a company would lie about something like that.(imao)
The "banding" is shade of the props. it is related to its "bad" performance against the wind, I think, as it has to do a lot to fight the wind and then the props shade the camera.
I own the Evo 2 Pro as well and I absolutely hate the color science and the log profile. Word is Autel tweaked the colors in the lite + From what I’m seeing…it seems to be the case. A more natural look right out of camera. Which saves me a whole lot of time in post 👍🏼
I have been in the market for a drone for years. However, I live in an area that prohibits the use of a DJI, so I have only looked at Autel. It seems that at this point, none of their drones is perfect. EAch has its own quirks. I am not a professional either. I just want to be able to get some good video footage. The Lite+ has some good things going for it, but the poor functionality in windy conditions is of concern.
Most of your observations are good, but I have 4 batteries for my Evo Lite+ and I only get 28 minutes, tops. I have only gotten that 28 minutes once. Normally I get 25 minutes. I do land before 10%. I would like to see you post your flight logs, showing that you get "30 to 35 minutes" because I do not believe that. The flight time on the Evo II Pro is also greatly exaggerated. So yes, please post your flight logs showing that you get those long flight times. I don't believe it. My Evo Lite+ has been fantastic in strong wind, but you need to go into Ludicrous mode to fly into a fast wind.
Hi Mike. Thanks for your thoughts about the Lite+. Concerning the banding you see in some shots, that is most likely shadows from the propellers that hit the camera front lens at certain angles to the sun. I have been able to avoid this by using a slower shutter speed, generally 60fps. That means Manual settings since Auto settings will crank up the shutter speed in bright conditions. Also, an ND filter (ND16-32) will help keep the shutter speed down, even in Auto. The lack of 10-bit color on the Lite+ can cause another annoyance. Some sky, water and smooth sand shots can have noticeable color banding with the 8-bit color. That can be minimized with an editor like DaVinci Resolve Studio. I like shooting my EVO II Pro in LOG, 4K/30, H.265 to get 10-bit color right from the camera. Post color correction is required, however. I subscribed to your channel.
I own the Autel XSP, and the Autel Evo(original) and I loved the cameras on both but the flight control as well as lack of settings turned me off of Autel as DJI just does everything better. What you showed on this new drone is impressive but the jello you show happens on the Mavic 2 Pro as well. It's the prop shadow and angle of the sun being picked up in the camera view. Annoying that they still can't figure out this issue. Thank you for showing your thoughts on this Autel drone!
@@InternetGoldMiner Hmmm, from what I've seen not having owned one, looks a lot better than the evo I as far as smoothness. But I have to say with the latest firmware my evo I flies pretty nicely. The issue I have is never gotten reliable video on my phone from the remote, ALWAYS cuts out, so I only use the remote screen to fly it.
Autel needs to fix this issue with theit drones moving slow forward. If I'm stuck in strong winds I turn the drone and fly backwards. Whats really strange though is if you hit RTH it flies like a rocket upwind back home yet fwd NO
The Mavic air two in HDR mode was like that also I didn’t have to color correct anything just take it straight off the SD card and use it it was amazing
Not the most practical choice with those issues like the way it handles strong winds considering its price. Needs to step up more. I’m keeping my Air 2S.
I've always heard the banding you mention called prop shadows. I remember the original Mavic Pro used to produce prop shadows when the sun was low in the sky.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the Lite+. The Autel evo lite+ is a nice basic drone, but it indeed needs some work. I admit the slow satellite retrieval of the M3 can be annoying. In my area i live its not that slow. If i have issues the M3 in most cases get satellites fast by restarting the drone. This hack for me works in 99% of the times. DJI is working on the issue now. Will be fixed soon.
The only issue I have with the Lite+ is prop shadows & props in the corner of the odd shot. 10 bit log would be a great addition. Otherwise the Lite+ has very much impressed me with its camera performance, very good dynamic range & colour balance, good flight agility & huge flight time. The night & super night video modes are excellent for low light or night videography. This drone has enormous potential once a few more specs & improvements are added by Autel.
How is it now, a couple of months later? I shoot raw stills and am looking for something that works well in bright/dark sunsets, better than my Mavic 2 Pro.

For me those lines are the propellers, the shadows being reflected at the camera in a certain angle from the sun, I experienced something similar with my Mavic 2 Zoom. I noticed to be more visible when you have that super bright sun directly to the drone but you have strong shadows as your image.
Wind resistance is important to me living on the Oregon coast ,the camera on the lite+ looks incredible …the transmission signal fpv looks better then most drones main camera…anyways great video thanks for sharing

Slow speed with headwind is an Autel Trademark. Evo 2, a 2.5 lb beast, capable of 44 mph, loses 20-25% of speed against the wind. It's reasonably aerodynamic, but big, so it's hard to say why. Acceleration is slow too, yet ask it to ascend and you get lift, at 17mph speeds.
Mike you ever have any footage flicker issues with your Evo 2 Pro? I have one that’s been giving me lots of issues and all manual settings and white balance too. I have my Nano+ coming Monday stay tuned I’ll be posting some footage on that. 🤙🏾🤙🏾

The lines on your video are from the prop shadows getting on your lens front. They are from an interaction of the varying speed of the props and the prop shadows, and the fixed frame rate.
I got mine a week ago and i really like it. But my drone reset all camera settings and some drone settings each time when i turn it off. Is it ok, or problem only with my drone?
That is really interesting. I have seen those same lines with the FIMI x8 SE 2022. That being said, those folks played with the gimbal gain to sort that out, but I haven't heard of it happening in the Lite +. I have heard as well that log 10 bit will be in a future update. I think if they do that with the variable aperture it will go after the M3 head on. I am surprised at the wind performance issue. I haven't heard of others with it. I know for the nano it has been an issue. I am wondering if you might just have a lemon drone. I would document performance issues, etc and then talk with their support. Lemons do happen, and it would be better to have them swap it out now, than have continued issues.
Regards the poor flight performance in strong winds someone suggested oa could be interfering as the drone is titled down and so on is pointing to the ground. How is the speed with oa off? Goodluck I'm getting one of these for stills as the camera looks fantastic!

The image quality was fantastic but I had some disconnecting with this drone so I returned it.I was thinking if they did this with future firmware I would buy it again. Another thing was the Timelapse did not work. Maybe with a future update. Now the price is 1899.00. For this drone. Might not be buying it now.

I own the EVO 2 pro and an EVO nano + most of my videos are on the EVO 2 Pro Would you still buy it after owning those other two drones?
Probably not in that case, unless you get rid of both of them for this one (which I would t advise you at this point)

Too bad it handled strong winds poorly. Autel needs to work on that. DJI still reigns when it comes to drones for a reason.

I agree, been having such shadow cast with M2P, M2Z, Air 2S and Lite+. Only when flying at some angles relative to Sunlight.

The banding that you’re referring to is the shadow of the props. The props are between the sun and the camera.

11:33 You should use lens hood or attach hard paper with tape like lens hood. That banding is sunlight from the propeller.

Those lines actually look like propeller shadows flickering on the video

The footage from that drone look great, except for the horizontal lines that you mentioned. I hope Autel can fix that problem.

If autel allowed 10bit 4k 30fps or something like that at minimum and increased the price a little nobody would buy DJI anymore imo
