Autel has been actual competition for DJI since the original EVO was released. It was a much better drone than the mavic.
Heck, just the fact that I can take off on a job when I have an FAA waiver with Autel is a win. I got tired of having to call DJI to get them to unlock my Mavic, then my Phantom 4 Pro because the remote wouldn't take my info.
This video just finished convincing me to buy it.
That moonlight algorithm is really, really impressive for 60 frames to be as bright as it is. Could you do some 6k / 24fps tests at night Ken? The clips I've seen so far are even brighter and cleaner but the posters aren't very transparent on the rest of their Lite+ settings.
Not sure if it's even better at night than Evo 2 pro... It might be.
Great video as always. The Autel Sky App is new at version 1. The drone functions will get a lot better over time. The Autel Explorer App is at revision 19 now so I suspect the Sky app will get a lot of updates as well. It's great to see competition since that benefits everyone.

Would be great to see Evo Lite night shots compared to Evo Lite+.
It seems Lite will be much better for low light conditions.

Wake me up when they actually come up with a solid competitor to DJI drones. This drone could have done so much better with its expensive price. Not the smartest choice.
I have a Mavic Air 2 and just bought this drone ....it beats the dji in several areas including stability, noise level, image quality and freedom of movement (ie. not geo fenced). It's more expensive ...to me that is the only drawback. If you live in a place that has an airport in the middle of your city, as I do, then it's worth every penny of the extra cost to not be geo-fenced.

Cool. I guess this is the Perv 2.0 we've been waiting for! Seriously though; this is one nice camera drone. It looks like it has some quirks but what drone doesn't. Great camera! Rock steady.
Your video is funny, Autel Evo has the best camera in the world among drones. No Mavic 3 and his camera. No. Videos from the Evo camera are famous. The overall orange confident drone has great performance. Long distance flight is ok, it's just perfect.
Flying at night by a city looks so cool!!! Hay Ken when your done flying that drone and before you put it away just send it to me and I'll fly post and send it back lol. Hay I was kidding but how cool would it be to do that!!? Just hard to trust people these days! But I trust Ken and i can be trusted i would never want all the subscribers from Ken's channel after me LoL!! Really this is the camera drone I would get I'f I could afford it! Then post downtown Cleveland footage again but with a good camera drone! The footage i have posted is from a GPS drone. Ken have a safe trip brother!

RTH - How difficult would it be for drone manufacturers to implement a system that uses a special mark on a landing site so the drone can land on that spot? GPS would get it near then a camera or other sensor would be enabled to navigate the drone to the right spot to land.
Evo 2 actually does this automatically, it's called precision landing mode. The trick is to hover after launch for 10 to 15 seconds and it snaps photos of the landing site. Works really well, off by less than 2 inches in my tests maximum

It does not. I haven't done arrange test on this yet either.
I have done 24 Thousand plus feet out or 4.7 miles and it will go very very high

Ken is the Evo Lite plus only 8 bit or is it going to be software upgraded to 10 bit. Is this a deal breaker for commercial use? I really like it’s got adjustable aperture.
Ken....Nice video. So for the 1,500 or so buck paid for the Autel EVO Lite or Lite +, within the APP, is there a VR/FPV setting that allows the end user to fly using a pair of FPV/VR Goggles??

Yessss- Finally a nice, lite video. Getting tired of those tiny, Nano videos, even the + sized ones. The Lite (not this Lite + has a 4 axis gimbal - a bit gimmicky, but different! I will probably go with Lite + but it needs to add to the EVO 2 Pro bag of goodies.

@@KenHeron I'm no expert, but the way I read it the drone must be in compliance with remote ID. There is no drone listed on their site yet that is compliant. I'll have to re-read it. Second and third items. sustained flight over open-air assemblies. Guess that wouldn't be over a couple of people walking to their cars, right? no exposed rotating parts that would cause lacerations. cage or just prop guards, ugh. time for a beer!

The the low light performance is very impressive on the EVO Lite, I'm glad to see Autel put a good camera on it. That Pyramid is really cool, and I know you flow there before, but I still find it interesting to look at. Great testing Ken, and thanks for sharing.

Awesome footage Ken, I think with that super-night feature, the Evo had a better image over the phantom - Sorry! Our Mary-Sue better stop doing her nighttime sun bathing in her new 3 piece!
But that distance limitation, which you have to choose to override, provided you have GPS, is a faff too far. I take it if you set it to no limit when you have GPS, then take it to a place where you don't. Either the controller, or the drone would have to stay switched on, in order to retain your desired setup?

£1400 definitely costs more than a dji and they are the leading technology in drones. Think I will pass lets be honest if its a choice between paying an extra £300 most are just gonna buy a dji

Air 2s is a more convenient option in my opinion.
Starting my campaign to boycott Autel. No one should buy their products, Until they start selling repair parts. The company holds you hostage once you buy their product. Something they fail to tell a customer. The idiots there offered me 10% off, What a joke, seeing they already had my $1,000 drone for parts. All I needed was 3 small parts, and they wanted $800 to send me another drone. What a rip off. I believe these idiots don't even repair drones, they swap them out. This is like Tesla in the early days, not selling parts. Total BS. If I had known this deceptive practice, I would have never purchased a Autel product.
DJI does the same exact thing. When you send your drone in for repair, they just send you a totally different new one and then you have to re-register it.
