Welcome to the Club. I love my E2P. One of the reason I chose it is I have a tower(~2000ft) that needed a visual inspected. DJI maxed out at around1500 ft. but the E2P does it with no problem. I also have a water tower that is next to the Navel Base in Fort Worth that I was asked to fly. DJI locked that location out(even thought I have a 2 year airspace autherazion for that location) Also the E2P absolutely leaves all of DJI products in the dust in high winds. Last I knew it had the highest wind rating on any drone of the market(that may have changed). When it came out Autel touted it could handle 35-40mph winds though I haven't tested winds that fast nor do plan to anytime soon. That said I don't like the controller or the beeping. A few months ago there was a beta verion of the firmware that claimed you could adjust the obstacle avoidance, but it appears that pulled back on that.
I got rid of my Air 2S after I got my Evo 2 Pro and smart controller. Simply my personal preference for my wants/needs. Autel doesn't get enough credit , though they seem to cater to professional search and rescue. The fact that they even have a consumer level product is something to consider. DJI seems to control whatever aspects they want just to because they can and to cover there ass for liability.
@@Tjidjenddinwrb im saving for the skydio 2,i cant justify 2500 bucks on that drone when i can get the skydio for half the cost,i have about 20 drones now
Orange is the new gray. :D I hand catch my Evo 2 all the time. Just as easy as catching the Mini 2. I do agree; it takes some getting used to the difference in joystick feel.
It also doesn't have built-in NFZ limitations. It warns you, but won't stop you from flying. I've got both the Mavic 2 Pro and the Evo 2 Pro 6K. I've posted a few videos from the E2P on my channel and the sunset videos were awesome.
Thanks ken. I've seen several reviews of the Evo but yours is the first one that showed a side-by-side comparison with the phantom. You really made it clear how the how much the dynamic range of the Phantom is limited and the Evo looks to be a very big improvement. I know some people like that overly contrasty look at first but when you have a contrasty scene you end up with just blown out whites and crushed blacks. The Evo will make life much better for a lot of people.
I have been using my Evo 2 pro commercial for the last 2 months... and I am very happy!! The Aircraft has not let me down. Yes controller could be better... but the flight time is crazy good... where I used to swap batteries in the middle of flight now its like the full mission and a half... what a difference.
I cant believe I got it at 1000 not knowing it use to be 1500 for my evo 2. I love the colour because it can be easily spotted, SAR colour, no limitation, and how quiet it was.
The P4P has become the 3rd Gen 4Runner of the camera drone world. Classic, functional, and will never truly go out of style. Oh; and it's easy to catch. Reeee!
I lovingly referred to it as the bay watch buoy... glad you finally came around on this. I created a video help dial in the settings for a more DJI flight. I agree out of the box it’s a bit snappy, but once you tune the flight settings it’s a fantastic drone by a far better company than DJI.
If a future brand new M3P doesn't have 6K, then I will take consideration to get myself a new EVO 2 Pro as I planned last year. I love how city lights look during the sunset/sunrise.
I'm sold. Now to just save up the funds for the Fly more pack that is offered on Amazon. The video in this is absolutely beautiful and the other video for the max range. Really impressed with how it hovered for 4.5 minutes trying to find a place to land. That's forward thinking by Autel. Just wish it had some of the flight modes DJI has for master and quick shots.
The footage of the stadium looked better in 4k to me. But that camera over the city at night was dam good. But not worth the money for me but maybe if making a living with it then yeah. Not a fan of it myself. But that camera is awesome.
I have been watching reviews for the Autel EVO ll Pro but I have been Waiting for you to post one before I make a big move from the Phantom 4 Pro Plus... Thanks for posting!!! 👍🏻
Had a great time buddy! The footage turned out amazing. Sure makes me want to cheat on my P4P too! Oh wait you did that for me already. I have fixed that secondary audio issue, so should be ready for the next time. BIMBOS!
It's nice to see the EVO 2 on the channel. It's a great drone with a wonderful camera. Good test flight, and I'm looking forward to seeming more of it in the coming weeks.
Another RUclipsr I know (ResslerMania) has one of those EVO 2s as well. He said he loves it too. I think I will get one as well. Thanks for the info and your input. ALWAYS appreciate it.
That's one hell of a camera. Don't know how many times I said "omg" but they kept getting louder. The clarity and sharpness is amazing, even on the edges. They got some really good glass in front of that sensor!
Great review Ken, The biggest reason for buying me E2P was for the camera. On the neck strap I just used a zip strap and placed it loose with a small loop where the holder meets the controller. I hate doing it this way because I have to watch the clasp to make sure it doesnt scratch the screen on the controller. Wish Autel would change up the controller. Also don't have a phone then you can still use the controller screen to view live video just depress the disp button on the right side of the controller. You can also take stills while filming. Also I think this has been answered down below but each battery has its own serial and when you firmware update you must do it for each battery.
The new droid controller tablet sold now with these Autel RTK 6K drones are cooler than cool and the most screen real estate of any controller I’ve used with my DJI P4 and Mavic 2 Pro drones. I love this Autel RTK drone also and consider it my best performer for doing missions for survey mapping grade maps. Use CPC to process photos but always with GPS’ed GCP ground control. Thanks for the vid, especially the 6K and 4K comparison.
@@andrewdrone Definitely easier to see. Don't know if people are less threatened which is an interesting thought considering there have been cases of drones being shot out of the sky.

Ken, awesome stuff as usual, FYI if you ever want to take the Evo out to a farther distance, point the antennas downward(away from the phone), you will get much better range and signal.
The resolution on the 6K is almost too sharp. I was spoiled flying a Mavic 2 with an iPad Mini. I'll never go back to using my phone. Nice to see there's an option for an iPad mount for the controller. Thanks for posting, Ken.
@@6root91 Yeah maybe. The selling point was all the sensors and autopilot features. Making it idiot friendly. Plus the 1 inch sensor. I do a lot of low light photography. So far I love this thing :)
Very happy with my Evo1 as the drone quality and videos are awesome. No need for me at this time to get the Evo2. Great drone but a monster compared any of the Mini's
You would get used to the flight characteristics. I love my Evo II Pro; been flying it since May. I went to fly my Phantom 4 A last week and thought - wow this thing is hard to control. So I sold the Phantom. Thinking about buying the 8k Evo so I can experiment with the differences.
I think, but am not sure, that you might be able to just switch the cameras out. I was looking at these the other day and saw that the cameras were available separately.

Ken Heron, you updated the F/W over-the-air when the controller + app prompted you to do it. Not recommended! Download the F/W .bin from Autel site, drag it onto a MicroSD (root directory) and install in drone. Fire up controller w/o phone attached, start drone and it will unpack and install F/W. Need to do it for each battery, too (quicker undate for just a battery). Confirm F/W updated in Explorer App. Lots of goofy problems from installing F/W over-the-air (camera control freezes were the issue for me).

You can still pinch with this drone via a lanyard, you just have to get a little creative. Take an old camera strap (longest you can find) and feed it through the holes in both handles of the remote, and voila, you've got a lanyard. Some laptop bag straps can work too
