The other tip is that with the Evo 2 Pro you can take photos while still running your video recording. It does not stop the video to take a photo like the Mavic 2 Pro does. whatever resolution your video is recording in, that's the resolution of the photo. But if you stop and just do photos, you can jack the resolution on the photos up to 6K resolution and they come out really nicely.
For a compact travel case for the EVO II Pro, look at the On-the-Go bundle. The EVO II Pro also has more OA sensors. To get 10-bit color with the EVO II Pro, you need to shoot H.265, LOG and 4K/30. 6K (actually 5.5K) is only 8-bit color. With the Autel drone, you don't have to ask permission to fly from a Chinese company.
It's a plus I've talked about in other Autel videos, however I do not know one person that flies it and actually does switch them out. So I'm not counting that as a big plus factor if I'm not seeing it being used.
Great video...content well done. As one of the pilots flying for a commercial construction company, I'm trying to find the next platform to replace an aging Phantom 4. I'm leaning towards the Evo II pro because of the battery life (less restarts of large, programmed photogrammetry missions) and integrated mission planning (vs. 3rd party Apps)...Camera interchangeability (8k, Thermal, etc)...of course the sensor size and imagery is appealing...the lack of big brother controls (geo-fencing, low ceilings)...and especially that they have an office in the US...with people...that answer the phone...and have conversations with you. HUGE!

I really appreciate the way you put the features of the drones in the context of what the user values and how they use their drones. That makes all the difference as far as which drone will work better for them. For example, I love my Mavic 2 Pro, but there is one area where I simply have to have the Evo 2. When I'm flying in the mountains, I need the Evo's ability to reach 800m above the takeoff point, vs. the 500 m limit on DJI drones. That extra 300 meters is the difference between getting a spectacular reveal shot of what's beyond the mountain peak, vs. reaching the DJI limit several hundred feet below the peak.
My exact thoughts when I said there might be that one feature that these drones do that others can't. In that regard, the Evo might be better for you because of this.
Some differentiators not highlighted in your video - The Evo 2's obstacle avoidance works in all modes except ludicrous (sport), however the side sensors of the MP2 only work in point of interest, circle, helix, boomerang, timelapse and active track. The Evo 2 Pro can shoot 4k @ 60fps, whereas the MP2 is limited to 4k @ 30fps. The Evo 2 can be flown without a mobile device attached, with FPV shown in the colour OLED screen on the standard controller. The Evo 2 can take jpg photos whilst capturing video. With the MP2 you cannot do this. The Evo 2 does not have an auto panoramic, 360 photo feature (whereas the MP2 does), however this can still be performed manually. The Evo 2 Pro has an interchangable camera payload, which allows your drone to be fitted with the 8k or Dual Enterprise camera in less than 5 minutes. With DJI you have to buy a completely separate drone. Autel has a shoulder carry bag available to alleviate your issue with portability. Suggest you buy one.
I own both drones. I've been using the Evo 2 Pro more than the Mavic 2 Pro when I need to do videos where I want to zoom in. The Evo 2 Pro lets you zoom in by pinching the screen, and the Mavic 2 Pro will not. It's kind of like the Mavic 2 Zoom and Mavic 2 Pro, in the same bird. I've got multiple videos up on my RUclips channel from both drones, if anybody's that curious.

You can also take photos while you are recording video. You don't have to stop recording video to take photos. It will take the photo in whatever resolution you're recording in, like 4K, but if you stop the video and do just photos, you can easily set the size of the photos up to 6K as an example.

I've never had anything but issues from Dji from my phantom 3 all the way to my phantom 4 and my mavic 2 pro, switched to autel with the evo and then the evo 2 pro 8k and I've never looked back. One thing that Dji can't do that autel does is the simplicity and the ability to just fly and create. Dji still makes great gimbals and camera products.

Yeah, the biggest advantage with the EVO II is that 90% of my flying is in controlled airspace. If I had a dollar for every time I had LAANC authorization for a flight but my DJI drone failed to unlock the NFZ or it took several times, I'd be a rich man as they say... With the EVO II Pro, I have authorization to fly in 30 seconds, the bird in the air in a minute, and am done with the flight in less than 5 minutes. What other industry makes you get their permission to use the product you purchased from them? I fly myself into and out of Midway airport in Chicago and big airports around the country, and I can't imagine if I needed permission from Piper or Cessna every time I flew their product! Just say'n....
I am in the process of looking for a drone and have been on the fence now for a few years. I live in the DC area and used to have a C210 based at KHEF (Manassas Regional.) Things were tough enough back in the 90s just dealing with the Class B Airspace. Then 9-11 happened and we had an ADIZ which eventually morphed into the SFRA. As far as drones are concerned, just about everything in the DC area is restricted. Of course, I well understand the reason for much of it but there are situations where one should be able to fly 25 to 50 feet in altitude which poses no hazard to commercial flights. So, I think the Autel is going to be the way to go.
I really wanted to buy the MP2 but was waiting for the MP3 release and now that nobody knows when it’s coming out I went with the MA2. It’s a badass drone. Great video as always bro.
I just received my EVO II pro today. The weather is poor so all I did was charge up everything and do setup. Setup was easy, a couple of updates, stickers to remove, etc.. This thing is solid, I sure hope it performs. As far as the camera, I now have 2 quads that exceed the capabilities of my computers to edit higher resolutions than a single 4k or a 2.7k on a 2.7k so until I upgrade to a computer with a more powerful processor and better editor software I really won't be able to take full advantage of this quad or my Air 2S, however, I now have an excuse to shop for another computer.
I've had the Autel for a few years. Their first offering. Just recently made my first DJI purchase. The camera on the Autel is superior. As one person said with the Autel you can pinch screen to zoom with very little (if any) pixelation. The range and battery life on the evo is superior also. As you said with the evo battery life you kind of run out of things to do with it for the expanse of the battery time or you just get tired of flying. It does interface very well with Android also where DJI doesn't. The one thing that I find irksome with the evo that you didn't mention is that occasionally in cold weather the evo won't start unless I warm it up first in my vehicle under the heater for a long time. It has its own battery heater but it takes forever. I've had very little transmission loss with the evo 1. And evo has less geo fencing. Which is a good and a bad thing depending on which your looking for as you pointed out. The autonomy of the evo is lacking compared to the DJI. Nice video and useful comparison. Thanks 👍
@@danielkillam9843 you know I never really thought to record the temperatures when I experienced fail to start. I think I may begin to keep a log and record events that affect my flights so thanks for that question. If I had to guess I'd say in the area of 40 degrees Fahrenheit. I live near San Diego, California. We have a marine layer here and the temperature rarely dips below freezing with most of our coldest winter temps being in the range of 30-40°. Mind you this is the original Evo from 2017 and it was an intermittent problem at worst. Aside from that one observation more than a complaint it's a very capable drone and the camera system is hands down superior to anything else out there for inspection. I'm a CA State contractor and use it for inspections. Sometimes I would arrive to my job site at sunrise on a Monday to if I had been absent on the preceding Friday just to get a visual representation of how far my crew had advanced a project in my absence or if they had been slacking and making me look bad. 🧐😉 I can't relate any problems to the companies latest offerings and I will likely buy the next system when it becomes available with FLIR and LIDAR as options. Although the the new skydio systems and optional 3d pro rendering software looks to be the way for any professional for the foreseeable future looking to have the latest, greatest tech to stay ahead of the curve. I have winter temps ranging down to -22 F so I was wondering if I could take it out and expect it to run but it sounds like if I would have to keep it warm if I expect it to run. I seen people running dji drones in in less than 10 F so I didnt know what to expect from an evo.
@@danielkillam9843 mine came with a battery heater so they know it's an issue with their drones..so I would expect that they would have addressed this issue in their most recent iteration of the Evo. You may want to keep digging on that one. I'd hate to be the reason why you discounted the newest Evo especially if they resolved the problem which they may have. I couldn't tell you. I'm just giving you anecdotal reporting of my experience with my EVO. It's a really good drone man. The camera platform is excellent. Better than what I've seen from DJI. My buddy has a Mavic pro and we have done side by side comparisons and the Evo camera color, clarity, saturation, field of view and zoom is STELLAR. You should also consider that most municipalities are choosing Autel over DJI and one could say that it is because of the US governments paranoia that China is using them to hack the entire country... but one could also say that they are choosing Autel over DJI is because of the camera platform and flight time. 🤷It's a tough choice Daniel. I would consider your specific needs above all. And if your on the fence between Autel and DJI you should check the SkyDio2 and the 3d mapping software that they are going to make available for around 1400$ a year from what I heard. And that is a steal for what they are offering. I hear that people are already in line yelling, "take my money". Skydio is the future of autonomy and high end tech in the drone business right now. If you don't have a drone and breaking into it I'd say DJI MINI2 is the way to go. It's an excellent all around flyer with an incredible camera. For it's size and weight it flys very well even in strong wind. I've had mine for about 6 months now and since I've had it I haven't even looked at my Autel. It's so small, flyable and capable that I'm falling in love with it. Good luck. 🙋
I hate the new Mini and Air controllers. The mounting bracket keeps pressing on volume or power buttons on an iPhone unless you mount it juuuuust right and off center. It is also unnecessarily big and heavy.

Aldryn, I was surprised you did not mention the one big advantage the EVO 2 has over the Mavic Pro besides geofencing. The ability to change out cameras on the EVO 2 drone.
I purchased the EVO 6k because of geofencing. I live here in central Tx/Fort Hood area so this was a priority for me. I have an old camera bag that the EVO, 3 batteries, remote and accessories fit in so no hard case is needed plus this actually is very portable...

Thanks for the correct review. I also own both of these great drones, they complement each other. Evo lacks the Panorama mode. I agree that the Evo control panel is not very comfortable and slippery - I had to make anti-slip stickers - it became more convenient. Now Autel is releasing a smart controller on the market, but the high cost will kill a good start. Let's wait for a foldable new controller. I also expect Mavic 3, but I think that the peak and parity in development has already come. Now only time and range are left (although it is not as important as time). Have a nice flight!
There's no doubt about it, the EVO II has it's quirks, but I don't think any more than the Mavic 2 had when it came out. Autel customer support has listened to complaints and the latest update really addressed a lot of the issues. There's still plenty more that need addressing, but we're being told those are in the works. Oh, and if the rumors of the Autel smart controller are real and the rumored price are not, it could be a game changer too.
Thank you for this great video. What kind of tablet are you using when you fly your drone? One of my favorite drones ever was my first drone that I ever purchased which was a fan and three pro. I like having the big iPad. My second drone was a Mavic pro and honestly I’ve never really liked it that much mostly because I have to try and look at a tiny phone to fly it. Also I live in Phoenix Police very bright and sunny and seen the phone is very difficult. And I like seeing all the tell mystery data not to mention just looking at the view. I’m trying to decide what to buy next. I love the inspired one I’ve never owned one but I’ve always wanted one it’s such a cool iconic drone. I’ve actually thought about buying one of those and the other one I’m looking at which I’m sure is more practical as the DJI air 2S.
Great footage. I liked the direct comparison in Log Graded (6:20). To my surprise the color rendering of the EVO 2 Pro is nice and the resolution is even better. Just to be clear: Did you film the M2P footage in FOV-mode or HQ-mode?
Ordering a EP2 V2 and pre-ordering V2 Smart Controller tomorrow. That Controller is as important as the aircraft, and luckily I missed all the V1's since I would have bought it and been stuck as far as future compatibility (from what we know now, always subject to change, especially where Autel is concerned) - Exciting times!

You should of mentioned that the EVO 2 pro 6K controller display can be used to display what is seen through the camera without using a phone or tablet. You can’t do that with any of the DJI controllers except the smart controller.

I actually prefer the Evo controller to the standard Mavic controllers. Having a built-in screen that can show video as well as telemetry means that you can fly without any additional device and still see what you’re doing, albeit a fairly small screen. Also, when I do use an extra device, I prefer it above the RC rather than below, as on most of the Mavics. Easier to flick your eyes between the screen and drone. I did consider the M2P but decided against it because it is near the end of its life cycle. Bought an MA2 instead as an interim bird and really do like it-and it’s new style controller.

A very nice comparison, I would not normally watch to the end. ( I have enough with owning a Mini 2 and Air 2 ). Your ones I do, and the ones I've saved like the one I saw this morning you recorded two years ago come April. (Fimi X8 Gimbal setting)
Camera resolution needs to be considered in conjunction with bit rate and colour depth. The Evo 2 has a maximum bitrate of 120Mbps. This is quite good for shooting HD but I wonder how quality suffers when a 6k image must be compressed to fit into the same container as HD. Bear in mind that a 6k image generates 9 times as many pixels as a HD image.
Yeah, You hit the nails head with Evo making a better remote for their drone. That remote definitely feels small. A nice smart control would definitely put that drone on top. That's my personal opinion. That's for the video, awesome as always. 👍👍👍
I've had drone jobs where I get LAANC low-altitude approval but my DJI is bricked, and I used my E2P. I use the soft case, which carries two extra batteries plus controller or charger. Also third-party controller Mount for iPad.
Same happened to me. Got a TSA/FAA waiver to do some filming near DC. My DJI was a brick...even after a custom unlock request. Fortunately I had a Fimi Xiaomi as a backup.
I have the Evo II 6K pro and I think the remote controller is their biggest mistake. Over all, it just sucks. Like you said, you keep hitting the buttons on the back, everyone has that problem. If you use a iPad Mini, the controller becomes unbalanced because there is a narrow holder for the extension, the foldable handels get slippery in the summer when your hands sweat and they make the muscles in your hands ache after a certain amount of time griping it, they need to be longer. Autel needs to redesign their remote, something along the line of the DJI smart controller or like the DJI Mavic Air 2 controller.
For me updates are important.. If Evo isn't updating enough then I'm leaning dji.. Portability is important too..6k is a bit much for most.. Looks like with the Evo the lense might not be as wide.. Did you crop any of the Evo footage to match the dji? VERY informative video. Would be interested in seeing an agility comparison and response time side by side.. Like how quick the turns are in fast action.. I'm curious with the extra bulk on the Evo it would be slow to react and turn.

I was wondering do you only require a heavy CPU power just for the 6k format? If for example you just shoot on 4k then you should be ok? Though for me video isn't really all that important, still photography is what I require from it.
Now I'm confused... I can say I'm a fan of DJI, but I can't say I've tried too many of their products. It requires money that is out of my budget for these things. However, I am currently thinking about getting a better drone, so I'm not sure which one to choose because it's not just DJI in the game anymore. They are both great. I tried to show my main concerns and limitations on each drone. I know my locations locally and the Mavic 2 pro fits my needs more. Plus ocusync is a must for transmission. However, there are certain spots I know I would need to bring the evo because of some restrictions.

Would love to see a review of the Tripltek tablet. I've always used the CrystalSky but it's getting very dated now, the core Android version is so old, it's letting it down.
I think pilots should learn not to rely on sensors all the time you have a better chance of not crashing your drone when you are in control of the drone...

I've never had anything but issues from Dji from my phantom 3 all the way to my phantom 4 and my mavic 2 pro, switched to autel with the evo and then the evo 2 pro 8k and I've never looked back. One thing that Dji can't do that autel does is the simplicity and the ability to just fly and create. Dji still makes great gimbals and camera products.

Excellent job !!! I find the Evo II intriguing. Having an M2P and Skydio 2 it would definitely complete my drone toolbox. Still on the fence due to an impending M3P.
The answer is get one of each. Problem solved. 😃 No need to thank me. I do this as a public service. PS: I chose the Evo 2 Pro but if the geofencing could be turned off I might consider the Mavic next time.

Yeah, the biggest advantage with the EVO II is that 90% of my flying is in controlled airspace. If I had a dollar for every time I had LAANC authorization for a flight but my DJI drone failed to unlock the NFZ or it took several times, I'd be a rich man as they say... With the EVO II Pro, I have authorization to fly in 30 seconds, the bird in the air in a minute, and am done with the flight in less than 5 minutes. What other industry makes you get their permission to use the product you purchased from them? I fly myself into and out of Midway airport in Chicago and big airports around the country, and I can't imagine if I needed permission from Piper or Cessna every time I flew their product! Just say'n....
I am in the process of looking for a drone and have been on the fence now for a few years. I live in the DC area and used to have a C210 based at KHEF (Manassas Regional.) Things were tough enough back in the 90s just dealing with the Class B Airspace. Then 9-11 happened and we had an ADIZ which eventually morphed into the SFRA.
As far as drones are concerned, just about everything in the DC area is restricted. Of course, I well understand the reason for much of it but there are situations where one should be able to fly 25 to 50 feet in altitude which poses no hazard to commercial flights. So, I think the Autel is going to be the way to go.
I really wanted to buy the MP2 but was waiting for the MP3 release and now that nobody knows when it’s coming out I went with the MA2. It’s a badass drone. Great video as always bro.
MA2 is almost always in the bag because of its size and capabilities. I bring the M2pro when I have a little more room and time.

I just received my EVO II pro today. The weather is poor so all I did was charge up everything and do setup. Setup was easy, a couple of updates, stickers to remove, etc.. This thing is solid, I sure hope it performs. As far as the camera, I now have 2 quads that exceed the capabilities of my computers to edit higher resolutions than a single 4k or a 2.7k on a 2.7k so until I upgrade to a computer with a more powerful processor and better editor software I really won't be able to take full advantage of this quad or my Air 2S, however, I now have an excuse to shop for another computer.
I’ve been using the evo i because of the geo-fence issues. I’d love to upgrade to the Evo ii pro though. Great video!
I've had the Autel for a few years. Their first offering. Just recently made my first DJI purchase. The camera on the Autel is superior. As one person said with the Autel you can pinch screen to zoom with very little (if any) pixelation. The range and battery life on the evo is superior also. As you said with the evo battery life you kind of run out of things to do with it for the expanse of the battery time or you just get tired of flying. It does interface very well with Android also where DJI doesn't. The one thing that I find irksome with the evo that you didn't mention is that occasionally in cold weather the evo won't start unless I warm it up first in my vehicle under the heater for a long time. It has its own battery heater but it takes forever. I've had very little transmission loss with the evo 1. And evo has less geo fencing. Which is a good and a bad thing depending on which your looking for as you pointed out. The autonomy of the evo is lacking compared to the DJI. Nice video and useful comparison. Thanks 👍
what temperatures does it not run at?
@@danielkillam9843 you know I never really thought to record the temperatures when I experienced fail to start. I think I may begin to keep a log and record events that affect my flights so thanks for that question. If I had to guess I'd say in the area of 40 degrees Fahrenheit. I live near San Diego, California. We have a marine layer here and the temperature rarely dips below freezing with most of our coldest winter temps being in the range of 30-40°. Mind you this is the original Evo from 2017 and it was an intermittent problem at worst. Aside from that one observation more than a complaint it's a very capable drone and the camera system is hands down superior to anything else out there for inspection. I'm a CA State contractor and use it for inspections. Sometimes I would arrive to my job site at sunrise on a Monday to if I had been absent on the preceding Friday just to get a visual representation of how far my crew had advanced a project in my absence or if they had been slacking and making me look bad. 🧐😉 I can't relate any problems to the companies latest offerings and I will likely buy the next system when it becomes available with FLIR and LIDAR as options. Although the the new skydio systems and optional 3d pro rendering software looks to be the way for any professional for the foreseeable future looking to have the latest, greatest tech to stay ahead of the curve. I have winter temps ranging down to -22 F so I was wondering if I could take it out and expect it to run but it sounds like if I would have to keep it warm if I expect it to run. I seen people running dji drones in in less than 10 F so I didnt know what to expect from an evo.
@@danielkillam9843 mine came with a battery heater so they know it's an issue with their drones..so I would expect that they would have addressed this issue in their most recent iteration of the Evo. You may want to keep digging on that one. I'd hate to be the reason why you discounted the newest Evo especially if they resolved the problem which they may have. I couldn't tell you. I'm just giving you anecdotal reporting of my experience with my EVO. It's a really good drone man. The camera platform is excellent. Better than what I've seen from DJI. My buddy has a Mavic pro and we have done side by side comparisons and the Evo camera color, clarity, saturation, field of view and zoom is STELLAR. You should also consider that most municipalities are choosing Autel over DJI and one could say that it is because of the US governments paranoia that China is using them to hack the entire country... but one could also say that they are choosing Autel over DJI is because of the camera platform and flight time. 🤷It's a tough choice Daniel. I would consider your specific needs above all. And if your on the fence between Autel and DJI you should check the SkyDio2 and the 3d mapping software that they are going to make available for around 1400$ a year from what I heard. And that is a steal for what they are offering. I hear that people are already in line yelling, "take my money". Skydio is the future of autonomy and high end tech in the drone business right now. If you don't have a drone and breaking into it I'd say DJI MINI2 is the way to go. It's an excellent all around flyer with an incredible camera. For it's size and weight it flys very well even in strong wind. I've had mine for about 6 months now and since I've had it I haven't even looked at my Autel. It's so small, flyable and capable that I'm falling in love with it. Good luck. 🙋
I hate the new Mini and Air controllers. The mounting bracket keeps pressing on volume or power buttons on an iPhone unless you mount it juuuuust right and off center. It is also unnecessarily big and heavy.

Aldryn, I was surprised you did not mention the one big advantage the EVO 2 has over the Mavic Pro besides geofencing. The ability to change out cameras on the EVO 2 drone.
It’s such a tiny percentage of people actually needing and doing that. Not in my top list.
I purchased the EVO 6k because of geofencing. I live here in central Tx/Fort Hood area so this was a priority for me. I have an old camera bag that the EVO, 3 batteries, remote and accessories fit in so no hard case is needed plus this actually is very portable...

Thanks for the correct review. I also own both of these great drones, they complement each other. Evo lacks the Panorama mode. I agree that the Evo control panel is not very comfortable and slippery - I had to make anti-slip stickers - it became more convenient. Now Autel is releasing a smart controller on the market, but the high cost will kill a good start. Let's wait for a foldable new controller. I also expect Mavic 3, but I think that the peak and parity in development has already come. Now only time and range are left (although it is not as important as time).

There's no doubt about it, the EVO II has it's quirks, but I don't think any more than the Mavic 2 had when it came out. Autel customer support has listened to complaints and the latest update really addressed a lot of the issues. There's still plenty more that need addressing, but we're being told those are in the works. Oh, and if the rumors of the Autel smart controller are real and the rumored price are not, it could be a game changer too.
If the autel evo 2 hit the market a year ago why is it only now all the youtubers are interested in it

Thank you for this great video. What kind of tablet are you using when you fly your drone? One of my favorite drones ever was my first drone that I ever purchased which was a fan and three pro. I like having the big iPad. My second drone was a Mavic pro and honestly I’ve never really liked it that much mostly because I have to try and look at a tiny phone to fly it. Also I live in Phoenix Police very bright and sunny and seen the phone is very difficult. And I like seeing all the tell mystery data not to mention just looking at the view. I’m trying to decide what to buy next. I love the inspired one I’ve never owned one but I’ve always wanted one it’s such a cool iconic drone. I’ve actually thought about buying one of those and the other one I’m looking at which I’m sure is more practical as the DJI air 2S.

Great footage. I liked the direct comparison in Log Graded (6:20). To my surprise the color rendering of the EVO 2 Pro is nice and the resolution is even better.
Just to be clear: Did you film the M2P footage in FOV-mode or HQ-mode?
Ordering a EP2 V2 and pre-ordering V2 Smart Controller tomorrow. That Controller is as important as the aircraft, and luckily I missed all the V1's since I would have bought it and been stuck as far as future compatibility (from what we know now, always subject to change, especially where Autel is concerned) - Exciting times!

You should of mentioned that the EVO 2 pro 6K controller display can be used to display what is seen through the camera without using a phone or tablet. You can’t do that with any of the DJI controllers except the smart controller.

I actually prefer the Evo controller to the standard Mavic controllers. Having a built-in screen that can show video as well as telemetry means that you can fly without any additional device and still see what you’re doing, albeit a fairly small screen. Also, when I do use an extra device, I prefer it above the RC rather than below, as on most of the Mavics. Easier to flick your eyes between the screen and drone. I did consider the M2P but decided against it because it is near the end of its life cycle. Bought an MA2 instead as an interim bird and really do like it-and it’s new style controller.
Great comparison and details of both the Evo and the Mavic 2 pro very helpful with your proven user experience keep up these reviews. Also can you shed some light on any new developments or updates of the Mavic Air 2. Is it worth waiting for these. If you where start up a business.

Camera resolution needs to be considered in conjunction with bit rate and colour depth. The Evo 2 has a maximum bitrate of 120Mbps. This is quite good for shooting HD but I wonder how quality suffers when a 6k image must be compressed to fit into the same container as HD. Bear in mind that a 6k image generates 9 times as many pixels as a HD image.

Yeah, You hit the nails head with Evo making a better remote for their drone. That remote definitely feels small. A nice smart control would definitely put that drone on top. That's my personal opinion. That's for the video, awesome as always. 👍👍👍
FWIW there is an addon device from Lifthor that fixes all the irritations of the Evo remote. There's actually several brands.
Do both of them have inferred? Heat signatures is very Important. Dji offers this
I've had drone jobs where I get LAANC low-altitude approval but my DJI is bricked, and I used my E2P. I use the soft case, which carries two extra batteries plus controller or charger. Also third-party controller Mount for iPad.
Same happened to me. Got a TSA/FAA waiver to do some filming near DC. My DJI was a brick...even after a custom unlock request. Fortunately I had a Fimi Xiaomi as a backup.
I have the Evo II 6K pro and I think the remote controller is their biggest mistake. Over all, it just sucks. Like you said, you keep hitting the buttons on the back, everyone has that problem. If you use a iPad Mini, the controller becomes unbalanced because there is a narrow holder for the extension, the foldable handels get slippery in the summer when your hands sweat and they make the muscles in your hands ache after a certain amount of time griping it, they need to be longer. Autel needs to redesign their remote, something along the line of the DJI smart controller or like the DJI Mavic Air 2 controller.
For me updates are important.. If Evo isn't updating enough then I'm leaning dji.. Portability is important too..6k is a bit much for most.. Looks like with the Evo the lense might not be as wide.. Did you crop any of the Evo footage to match the dji? VERY informative video. Would be interested in seeing an agility comparison and response time side by side.. Like how quick the turns are in fast action.. I'm curious with the extra bulk on the Evo it would be slow to react and turn.

I was wondering do you only require a heavy CPU power just for the 6k format? If for example you just shoot on 4k then you should be ok? Though for me video isn't really all that important, still photography is what I require from it.

Now I'm confused... I can say I'm a fan of DJI, but I can't say I've tried too many of their products. It requires money that is out of my budget for these things.
However, I am currently thinking about getting a better drone, so I'm not sure which one to choose because it's not just DJI in the game anymore. I'll have to look at more of your reviews to help me decide 😁...Great job as always 👍
They are both great. I tried to show my main concerns and limitations on each drone. I know my locations locally and the Mavic 2 pro fits my needs more. Plus ocusync is a must for transmission. However, there are certain spots I know I would need to bring the evo because of some restrictions.
@@FlytPath I agree with you about ocusync and I believe that Mavic is suitable for me too, but I didn’t know that Evo is also good one.
I love your reviews because you always remain objective and not prefer one side that actually pay you to say that.
m2p is better in practically every way. autel is just copycat, if you want rock solid drone, dji is still no1 pick.

to me 4k 60fps on the Autel vs 4k 30 in the Mavic is the kicker. Also - you wont get 40 mins - more like 33 - 34mins.

Would love to see a review of the Tripltek tablet. I've always used the CrystalSky but it's getting very dated now, the core Android version is so old, it's letting it down.

It amazes me that people think these are big drones. The flight times are also the advertised flight times, not actual flight times.
I think pilots should learn not to rely on sensors all the time you have a better chance of not crashing your drone when you are in control of the drone...
